Good Hardware Wallet for storing some crypto
on November 13, 2021

I'm still more or less what you'd call "noob" at crypto currency. Like many out there the FOMO of missing out on the next Bitcoin is all too much of a draw to not get in to it.
I don't have all that diverse of a portfolio. There are some coins I do have that are not yet supported or won't be supported via Ledger Live due to being on the ERC-20 blockchain variety which is unfortunate.
Of the ones supported that I do have a tiny stake in, installing the app through the Ledger Live app on PC is a breeze. My only critique is that the device still relies on the antiquated Micro-USB connection. I know that the Ledger's have been around for a while, and so has Type-C, so it would be nice to see this implemented.
I say this because connecting to your phone is very cumbersome because you're going to need a certain cable, or an adapter then a standard USB-A to Micro cable. The fact phones are using Type C and USB-A makes the Micro port choice perplexing. Thankfully I had Type-C to USB-A adapter from a tablet I had years ago, but it looked horrid connecting that, then connecting the Micro cable and connecting it to the Ledger. Hopefully if an updated model is released they'll implement Type-C to give more universal options.
All in all it's easy enough to use. Ledger Live is pretty informative with it's setup process and makes it a breeze to store your crypto somewhere safe. If you take crypto investments seriously, get yourself a Hardware wallet.

Great option for adding ambient lighting
on November 4, 2021

I've never been a really big fan behind RGB. I use it on my keyboard all the time however as it's nice to have different profiles for games. Outside of that, even my PC lacks it.
That said, these strips are really nice. They're very adaptive depending on what you need them for. Be it adding lighting to the back of a TV, a monitor, inside your case, or in my instance, having ambient controllable lighting for under and on the sides of my standing desk. Since there's no lighting under there and I sometimes need to be able to see down there, these lights, while probably over the top for my intended application, work perfect. There was just enough length in the RGB strips and the cables to get all 4 strips exactly where I wanted them.
There's plenty of color options and even some really nice animated ones. You can also setup profiles to take advantage of some programs that will react with your lighting to give you little more immersion with your games/movies/programs. I didn't really get around to testing this though.
I think the only drawback is needing iCUE. I do wish I could have controlled the RGB via my motherboards control or a different app since I use multiple different products on my PC. This just means that it's one more piece of software that has to be installed to control something else. If you've already got Corsair Mice, Keyboards, Headsets etc... Then this won't be a big issue for you as you've likely already got iCUE installed and running.
Installation was quick. As there's a lot of metal to my desk and a metal cable management and organization tray running the width of my desk it was easy to just stick the strips on. Corsair made it so depending on your setup you can either use the adjustable Magnetic clips or you can use the included adhesive clips to install them just how you need them. So far I've not had any issue with the strips drooping, falling off or moving out of place even when raising or lowering my desk. Even when I've accidentally bumped in to the desk they've stayed in place.
I'm quite thoroughly pleased with the strips, and the fact I can add more down the line which I likely will, makes this a great addition for use case. I might even consider grabbing some of the tower RGB strips to place on the desk to give me some more lighting options.

Quite the step up from earlier versions
on October 26, 2021

It's been a while since I last used a Windows based Tablet. The most recent one was a Dell model at my previous workplace. There's something about that convenience of having such a device to carry with you.
We did have some older Surface Pro models that were in the process of being replaced due to age much like any other computer. They were nice solid units.
Fast Forward to now and the new Pro 8 is quite the upgrade. From my daily usage, it really does what I need it to do throughout the day.
The screen is really really nice on this unit. It gets very bright and the biggest bonus is the refresh rate. If you've never used a display with 120hz, you're missing out. The vast jump and difference in terms of feel and responsiveness is truly life changing. It might not sound like much, but everything is much much smoother. Scrolling through websites, responsiveness of the Surface Pen, it all works together.
CPU, the new 12th Gen series processors make use of Intels new IGP the Xe series is such a massive step up over the previous Iris system. They're much better for 3D based tasks even enough to do some lighter gaming, whereas in the past, you really needed to have a dedicated Graphics Card. That's not to say you're going to be using one of these to play top tier AAA titles.
The resolution is nice and quite high so it makes multi-tasking and productivity a breeze. There's even HDR support which is a major plus if you want to take some time out and watch a movie or a tv show on the go.
Another quick thing to touch on is Windows Hello. The ability to unlock your tablet quickly without having to type anything is so great. It does have some limitations, so if you're wearing a mask like most of us are today, you'll need to remove it or use your pin/password. Aside from that, it's wonderful feature
The unit does get a bit warm when under heavy load. It does remain relatively quiet but you can definitely tell when the fans ramp up.
Performance is pretty darn good. As I mentioned earlier the new Intel Graphics are such a massive step up. That coupled with the responsiveness of the pen lends to an great usage experience.
Now for Windows 11. That is a bit of a mixed bag. It does still work similarly to Windows 10, but visually it's different. It can also feel overwhelming to use with the change. I'm not a huge fan of the new taskbar and "start" menu. Things are easier to find though from the start menu. You can at least move it to the left side, though my preference has been to have the taskbar at the top of my display. Only having a week to play around with it though would give a bit of a jaded experience with it. In time with more use I'm sure it will grow on me. I'm waiting on using it on my Desktop PC for a bit of time though. I imagine within 6 months we may get more customization with things like the start menu. Again, time will tell how it pans out. Here's to hoping that this doesn't end up as another Vista.

Very nice keyboard cover.

The keyboard is responsive. I also appreciate that it is backlit, so if you're working in limited light, you can still work without interruption. There's good feeling to the response of the keys. It's not mechanical, which is the type of key's I'm accustomed to using on a daily basis.
The Pen is a bit of a mixed bag. I find it a bit awkward to hold due to it being flat versus the natural styling of a pen. It's also very responsive and accurate. I'm a terrible writer but the handwriting recognition has come a ways since the last time i used a Windows based tablet that used a pen. I like that the pen sits in a spot inside the cover so it's tucked away when you're not needing to use it.
The Alcantara is a nice touch as well and gives a feel of quality to the keyboard.

Great Espresso machine for beginners.
on October 21, 2021

This is the first espresso machine I've ever owned. I'm also quite the amatuer when it comes to using it.
It's quite easy and straightforward to use. Setup was fast simple. I appreciate the simplicity of use with it.
I'm still learning a lot about it. There is an app you can download that allows you to adjust the grind time and amount of water in you would like. I'm still trying to find my preference but it seems to be in the finer grind. I certainly wouldn't cut it as a Barista though.
Cleaning the unit is easy as well. In the box there was two Deliming cleaning pucks as well as a litmus strip. There's also other clearning supplies included and they're stored in a container that sits underneath in a cut out section of the drip tray.
I will note that my frothing wand is obscenely loud. It could very well be due to my amatuerish attempts at doing so. I did watch a couple videos the other day so I will use those suggestions. Hopefully it's just me and not the unit itself as I'd hate to have to be without it and not have that espresso in my drinks.
Aside from the likely user error of the frothing wand, this is a fantastic option for starting your adventure as a "Barista". The only bad part of that is that you're not getting paid!
For something of this quality, I think it's certainly worth the price.

Great Earbuds for those that are active
on September 13, 2021

Bose has always been about subltey with their design philosphy and all about Research to get the best out of all their products. I've used many of their headphones and earbuds over the years. My favorite was by far and large the QC35's, which I did get the privilege to review and they absolutely blew me away.
Fast forward to now and the Bose Sport Earbuds. Again I've used and reviewed around 10-15 different earbuds and I've had my favorites and those I've never used again. Naturally the Bose fit in to the former. These really are some great sounding earbuds. The design of them are similar to some others I've reviewed. More of an angled design to better fit in the ear.
Setup with them is pretty straightforward and quick. If you're using the Bose app on your device, it only takes a minute to connect it to the said device. Put them in to pair mode, open the app, let it detect and then it connects flawlessly. IF that fails you can always go about manually pairing through Bluetooth.
Sound quality is what you would expect with a typical Bose product. There seems to be a bit more balance on the lower end of the spectrum. Highs and mids do well so your vocals will come out clear. I of course do prefer loud boomy bass in my listening, a phase I've yet to still outgrow in my old age. There's still plenty of lows though.
There is some isolation with these but it's not the focus. The focus is all on fit, comfort, and stability. Regardless of what you're doing, they stay in where they belong and don't fall out like some other's I've used.
There's a few different sizes that you can use with them so you can make sure you're getting the best fit and sound quality.
There are a couple negatives with them. Battery life for one, they're rated up to 10hr's. I got a little over half. It does depend on how loud you're pushing them, but still, they're not great. There's not controls on them like there are on the SoundSport Free's. These use a touch based design where the face of the earbuds are your controls, you just tap them. This won't appeal to some, I don't mind it cause it's easier than fumbling around for physical buttons, which typically consist of a tiny little strip or button you can easily miss.
Probably one of the biggest detractors is that there is no way to set an EQ for these as it's not supported in the Bose Music App. This could change in the future with Firmware and App updates, but at this time this isn't possible.
The charging case is nice. There's no wireless charging here. The earbuds can get 2hrs of charge from the case in 15mins so that's a pretty big plus when you're out an about. The case does take a bit of time, 3 hours for a full charge so you can just plug em in when you're doing something else.
Overall they're really nice, very comfortable and provide a great listening experience.

Incredibly accurate and effortless mouse
on May 23, 2021

The Roccat Kone Air Pro. It’s a really nice mouse. It’s got a great feel to it as well as night flat finish. It looks really nice in White and I think off personal experience will reveal less spots of wear over time compared to black finishes. I’ve experienced that it with multiple Black colored Mice from several of the top Gaming Mice companies and it even shows a lot on my current every day mouse.
The mouse is of course Right handed, so left handers will need to find an ambidextrous mice or one tailored for Left handed use. It’s got a comfortable feel to it regardless of grip type. I’m more of a mix of Palm and Fingertip for grip with the occasional Claw, depending on the game. It is slightly larger than my current 19 button MMO style mouse which I didn’t expect, though it’s not as tall. It does seem to fit my hand a bit better though.
The mouse has some really nice glides on the bottom and it does so effortlessly on my large desk pad. It’s a much smoother and more precise glide than my current mouse.
The Roccat Swarm software is very simple to use but offers a boatload of customization, from macros, illumination, button actions and so forth. One thing that does lack and I would have liked to see a dedicated button for, is their Easy-Shift. Some of the other Roccat Mice do have this button so it makes creating and using a secondary mouse action much easier, whereas you have to configure one of the buttons (8 total) to function as this. That said, it does allow you to essentially almost double the amount of actions the mouse can perform. So if you play any MMO’s, despite the limited amount of physical buttons, you could still very much use this mouse in place of the sometimes cumbersome 12+ button side mounted mice. Though I do hope that Roccat will create a mouse that caters to such a crowd that also uses these new Titan switches.
The switches themselves in the mouse are their new Titan Optical kind. They seem to react instantly. Optical is likely going to be the way forward with switches as they only rely on the laser/light inside to be tripped by the press of the button cutting it off. They also will last longer as there’s less parts that need to process the click.
Charging the mouse is quick, and this is in part to it using Type-C which is a great addition to any wireless mouse. Most current mice on the market utilize older Micro-USB for their charging and therefore can only charge the mouse so fast since they also rely on older USB 2.0. I didn’t ever fully drain the mouse as I tended to keep it above 50% in all my use time so as to prevent any undue interruption and remain cord free during gaming. The cable is very nice though and it’s got a generous length to it, a whole 6ft so if your case is under your desk or well off to the side, you should have plenty of reach should you need to charge while using it. I also prefer the Type-C because you don’t have to guess which way to plug it in if you’re a night time gamer with much lower ambient light.
The LED’s in the tips of the mouse are very cool. They can get very very bright, probably the brightest LED’s I’ve seen on a peripheral, even brighter than a lot of and even my current keyboard which also uses Optical Switches (not Roccat though). There’s plenty of options and you can even create your own variations and change up your colors. There’s breathing, constant on, wave, pulsing, heartbeat and a few others. I kept the brightness pretty low though for battery usage sake. I neglected to note how long it did last (at least to 50%) on single charge, but it was over a couple days of gaming.
It does have Bluetooth, though I did only test it via the included USB receive, of which also has a spot that you can store it in the underside of the mouse if you take it on the go with you.
It really is a great mouse and ridiculously responsive with the Owl-Eye Optical sensor. Combined with the glides it’s again, a very accurate mouse. If you need a high performance, high DPI mouse that glides with little effort on nearly any surface and tracks just as well, the Kone Pro Air certainly won’t disappoint, especially since it’s also backed by a 2yr warranty. (Don’t think I’ve ever seen anything over 1yr on Mice).

ASUS TUF F15 Review
Initial setup went quick. There's not a much of anything inside the box outside of a few pamphlets and the Charger/Power Cord.
The system boots quite quick due to the NVME Drive which makes everything snappy. I will likely consider installing a secondary drive though.
There were some updates that had to process and some BIOS/Firmware updates for the Notebook itself. Some reviews on this I had noticed that a couple encountered issues where the Notebook was bricked and rendered useless, I did not experience this. I don't know the scenario of the users experience with this problem nor if the unit was connected to external power. Most won't allow a BIOS/Firmware update if it's not plugged in. I didn't test this as I'm adamant of keeping something like this connected to external power for something as critical as a BIOS or even minor/major Windows update.
So far the notebook has been running well. That said, it runs fast, but the fans are noisy. Idling on the desktop you can hear a whine coming from them. When a load is applied via an update or a program installing it get's quite a bit louder. Given I typically use a headset, it's a non-issue for me, but when I don't have my headset on it's very noticable and invasive. It actually hurts my ears a little given the very high frequency of the whine.
One thing I noticed off the bat was the display. It wasn't very responsive and I could tell it wasn't running at the native refresh rate. Checking the display settings reveals from the factory it's defaulted to 60hz. You have to manually change it from the Advanced Display Settings Monitor tab to the 240Hz setting. Once done, you can then change it to 240hz in the Display Settings and then it's a night and day difference.
Performance, to test this I ran a couple game benchmarks.
The first test I ran was Borderlands 3's Benchmark. I tested it at the 1080p on 3 different visual presets. High, Ultra and the Bad@ss preset. Of the Averages, High obviously had the best at 85 FPS. Ultra it 73 FPS and the highest Bad@ss it averaged 58 FPS.
I'll be honest that this was underwhelming. The 3070 in this particular model is definitely a cut down variant compared with the other mobile variant's. I also assumed that the performance in particular would be higher than an older previous generation GPU even though it's a mobile version. To give some perspective, the Desktop I built last year with a Ryzen 3800X, 32GB RAM, EVGA 2080 FTW3 Ultra (not a super or Ti) I tested the game out on it and at 1080p on the same presets I got over 85 FPS on the highest setting and anything below I averaged over 90-110 FPS. I tested at 3440x1440p and I was still able to get over 60 FPS on the highest.
I'm a bit thrown though in regards to temps and noise levels. Unless mine has an issue, Running anything 3D intesive the system's fans ramp up quickly and are quite load, enough to the point where I can hear them through some Closed back headphones. The temps are quite high as well. Using HWMonitor I was seeing CPU temps as high as 87C and 75C on the GPU. From some other reviews I had seen, most were not seeing temps this high. It could be that my unit may have an issue.
The 2nd Game I tested briefly was Cyberpunk 2077. The game defaulted the settings to RTX Ultra with DLSS set to Auto. I will say that the game appeared to run smoother than the 2080 in my PC. This could be due to the better Tensor/RTX cores in the 3070. Temps while testing were a little higher. The peak on the CPU was 90C, though the GPU was 73C. The FPS seemed to hover around 45 on the default settings. I think it possible there may be a Hardware issue with the unit. I've reached out to ASUS to see what advice they can offer.
I also tested out Forza Horizon 4. I did so connected up to my TV in my Living room to play it at 4k as anything short of this you're really robbing yourself of fidelity with this title. 1080p on the laptop display did return an average 94 with Ultra Preset. It had defaulted to Dynamic but I set it over to Ultra with no issue. On the TV at 4k however, I could not get the game to run at anything over 48 FPS. I don't know if this is do to throttling of the CPU and GPU, but even dropping to high, the performance in the graphs was identical. Dynamic High and Ultra also made no difference. The game does appear to run smoothish, I noticed a little hitching here and there.
I also ran some older benchmarks too. Unigene Heaven and Valley. Using the Performance Preset in ASUS Armory Crate my average in Valley at 1080p Extreme Detail and 4x AA was at 122 for an average. Changing the preset to Turbo my average was only 120.6. This is a bit surprising. From what I could see in HWMonitor CPU only topped out at 84C in both runs and the GPU was surprisingly only hitting 69C which is a fair bit lower than in Cyberpunk and Borderlands.
Heaven, the averages were lower but I expect this as it despite Valley being a newer benchmark it was not as intensive. The averages clocked in right around 108 FPS at 67C. Testing using Performance and the average was 96.4. The slower performance in Valley looks like it was due to the CPU getting throttled as its temps hit 91C. Quite a bit higher than in Performance. Tessellation was enabled as well.
Just for a comparison, my Desktop at 1080p with the same settings for Valley scored 155.9 average. Heaven was 135.6. So on average going from these numbers, the TUF is roughly 20% slower than my desktop. Admittedly, this is impressive given the TUF only draws 200W compared to my Desktop drawing roughly 480W.
The last benchmark I ran was Superposition. I tested with both Armory Crate presets.
1080p Extreme score was 5075. Turbo was 5249, so a decent extra boost. My Desktop clocked in at a score of 6683, just over 27% faster.
Bear in mind that simply changing your power plan to best performance will not change the Armory Crates performance. It was sitting at Performance preset even at Best/High Performance in Windows power options. It seems that Performance will lock the GPU to 80W. Changing this to Turbo will allow the CPU to clock higher and will allow the GPU to run at 85W.
Overall it's great laptop but it has some quirks. Again some of these could be due to my unit as others are reporting higher FPS in identical games, nearly 20%, and others were showing temps significantly lower than mine, up to 30C while gaming.
Pro's.
- 1TB NVME and it's fast. Looks to be sourced from Hynix.
- 16GB RAM, plenty of it for multitasking and gaming.
- 11th Gen i7, plenty of oomf for your gaming and productivity.
Both the RAM and the NVME's can be upgraded. There's 2 Gen3 M.2 slots so you can always add another NVME drive.
- Display is colorful and has that crazy 240hz refresh rate which is very welcome for competitive gaming.
- It's got a type C port that's PD rated plus two more USB 3 Type A ports.
Backlit keyboard, and it can get fairly bright.
- It's got a gigabit ethernet port. Something nice to see since so many are shucking these now.
- Weight. For what you're getting in such a small package, I'm genuinely surprised this is only just over 4lbs.
Con's.
- Noise, it gets very loud when under load. Armory reports that it's 40-50db, I don't have a way to test, but I'd reckon it's closer to 55+db.
Heat, again this could be an issue with mine, but it gets well hot enough to cause the CPU and GPU to throttle.
- HDMI port. This is only a 2.0 and it's controlled by the iGPU. So if you were hoping to get more refresh rate you will be disappointed. I was able to get it to output at 1080p120 on to my main ultrawide display but it stretched across the entire monitor so it looked awful, but it did register as 120hz. It would have been a lot better to source the HDMI to the RTX 3070 but I assume this was due to keep power usage in check.
- Battery. Well this will be hit or miss depending on your workload. With the computer running on the Performance preset in Armory I got around 90 minutes run time while gaming. Idle on the desktop was only around 2 hours on the same preset. Setting it to silent, I was seeing around 2.5-3.5 hours with light usage like browsing the internet. I don't really expect much with a Gaming Laptop so this is more or less a like it or love it for most.
- Power adapter location. This boggles my mind why it's in the dead center of the left side. I think it would have been better to place it towards the rear of the right or left side. I just find it gets in the way.
Not really pro's/con's.
- Keyboard and track pad are serviceable. You'll ideally want something external. I'm surprised that there's no RGB on the keyboard, it's merely a light white blue hue. It does as I mentioned above get fairly bright. I also find it odd there's no border lighting around the touchpad. It's generous in size, but it would still be nice.
- Warranty is a standard 1 year which is fine. I put this here cause I'm not certain if this is normal procedure, but when I registered the unit with ASUS it provided me with a 1yr Warranty with ADP. I don't want to give out false hope with your purchase.

Easy to use, Compact and easy to store

This product is lightweight but does an efficient job on soiled carpet. It was easy to set up, easy to fill, and easy to empty and clean. Most areas cleaned well on the first try, some needed to be repeated, but those were heavily trafficked areas.
I was very pleased with finished product and I think that further passes will improve those heavily trafficked areas even more.
I also like the fact that it’s easy to store and doesn’t take a lot of space.

I didn't get a picture of the carpet prior to using the Bissel so I won't waste time on a comparison, but it was able to get a really stubborn stain out my bedroom's carpet due to our dog not being able to hold it in the middle of the night. It will require another pass or two but it should be unnoticeable then.
It's definitely an excellent alternative to paying several hundred for a more expensive unit or even professional services.

Nothing about your personal style is standard. So why should your appliances be? Created for those who want to reflect their true style in every room of their home, Café is distinct by design. Backed by showstopping features, every Café appliance gives you the form and the function you've been craving. Now that exceptional style is coming to your countertops thanks to elegant and efficient toasters, which feature the signature Café copper accents that truly elevate your experience. Embrace a toaster that you can be proud to present on your counters that also boasts four pre-set functions that allow you to customize your toast to your preferences. The innovative Express Finish setting creates delectable toast in about a minute, while additional operating functions such as Frozen, Bagel, Reheat and Cancel, all help you curate your ideal toasting experience. Even clean-up is a breeze thanks to the copper-plated catch tray which collects crumbs as they fall to the bottom of the toaster and prevents them from scattering across the counter.

Who knew toasters could look this good!

So we’ve been using a 4 slot toaster for the better part of 10 years or so now. Figured it would be a good time to replace it, though it still works perfectly.
This Café 2 slot Toaster is quite the looker. This is not the white model but the Stainless Steel one. The Rose Gold and the Stainless Steel look fantastic together. I think it contrasts better than the Black Matte and White models but get what matches your kitchen. The unit feels well built. The handle, buttons, frame and dial are plastic. I wish that for the price of the unit, it relied on having more metal to it's construction. Outside of a few extra features over the lower end unit and the finish on these, I genuinely don't see where there's an extra $100+ worth.
So far in the week we’ve used it, we’ve not had a single problem. Toasting time is fine. I’m definitely noticing a difference in the quality of the actual toasting. I like that there’s multiple options for how to toast. There’s an Express Finish if you’re needing to toast something in a hurry. I’ve not used the option as I typically just put whatever needs toasting in and move on to something else in the meantime. There’s some options for Bagels as well.
I appreciate the smaller size as we can keep it on the countertop, whereas the 4 slot unit we have, it has to be stored away.
It seems easy enough to clean and has a small removable tray that’s also Rose Gold colored to match the trimming.
As for price, I don’t know if I’d say it’s worth $150-170. I’d say it is worth around $70-80. You’re mostly paying for the look of the unit more so the function. A 4 slot would be nice for around $100 with what seems to be a well built unit. Time will tell of course how long this lists. The 4 slot we have now, to have gotten a decade out of it is major plus and it’s seen a lot of use. If this one holds up for as long, I’d say it’s worth the price then.
I noticed some others mentioned that their toast was burnt using the express finish. I didn’t time how long it took, probably around 30 seconds, but on the 2nd setting with express finish I had to put the toast through another run, this is the toast pictured in my review. I’m still happy with the result. I like my toast a bit on the darker side, not burnt but darker so this was more than acceptable for my taste.

Unlock a world of crypto possibilities with the Ledger Nano S. The world’s most popular hardware wallet to securely start your crypto journey. Buy, secure, exchange, grow and manage your favorite crypto assets.

Does this wallet support Dogecoin?

It certainly does. You can buy, swap or send and receive Dogecoin on the Nano. You do all this from the Ledger Live app either on PC or your mobile device. I'd recommend doing so from the PC as connecting it to your phone would require you to use an adapter since it uses the antiquated Micro-USB connection.

If you need to know about other coins, you can visit the Ledger website and click on Crypto Assets and from there search to see what it supported.

Stream your favorite tunes from media servers, PCs and smart devices with this Yamaha sound bar. The built-in Alexa voice control lets you decide how your favorite content should play, and the preset modes provide different surround sound effects for your listening pleasure. Featuring clear voice technology, this Yamaha sound bar ensures clear dialog so you can keep up with critical scenes or plot twists.

can i use this remote only and not have to go to a different one?

If you're meaning whether or not you have to use the included remote, then yes, you don't have to use any other. If you mean if you can use a 3rd party universal remote, that would be something you would probably have to reach out to Yamaha or the manufacturer of the remote for.

Also keep in mind you can use your phone as a remote with the Sound Bar app. It's called Sound Bar Controller and it's made by Yamaha. You can also use Alexa to control it as well.

Acer Nitro 5 Laptop: Lose yourself in the absorbing multimedia experience delivered by this Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop. The Intel Core i5 processor ensures a lag-free performance, and the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card delivers immersive visuals on the 15.6-inch Full HD display. This Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop has 8GB of RAM for seamless multitasking.

Do you know the average fps on high setting on high quality games.

Performance is of course going to vary from game to game especially when you consider the settings people use. I've attached my benchmark report from AC:Odyssey. This would be a killer unit if the GPU was a 1650 instead of the paltry 1050. As you can see at 1080 it just barely holds on to 30 fps at mostly medium. Further tweaking and you can probably get that closer to 35-40.

I bought this laptop with 256gb a month ago. Can I add extra 2.5 Internal HDD or SDD in it?

You certainly can. It's got expansion for another M.2 drive as well as a standard 2.5" Mechanical or SSD drive. If you want to expand the SSD storage I'd recommend looking at the Corsair MP510 series. They're cheap, fast, have a 5yr warranty and will probably outlive you lol. They have the highest endurance of any drives currently on the market, enterprise sector aside.

See who's at the door on your smartphone with this SkyBell Trim Plus home-security doorbell. It sends HD video and two-way audio and can detect and record a visitor's presence via live monitoring and a motion sensor. This rugged SkyBell Trim Plus home-security doorbell has full-color night vision and withstands inclement weather.

Does it come with the angle mount?

It does not sadly. You'll have to buy them. They're $10 per wedge at their website. You'll have to use theirs though, I bought some off Amazon and the SkyBell does not fit on them. They secure points or too close together which makes it impossible to use with them. Sadly I had to eat the cost cause it would have cost me more to send them back than I did paying for them.

How many USB ports does it have

Sadly it doesn't have any. I was hoping it might have had even just 2 USB 2.0 ports but it doesn't even have that.

Does this monitor rotate to be used in portrait mode?

You sure can rotate it. It might not seem like with how high the stand extends, but it is enough with some room left if you have anything beneath the screen itself.

The ambient lighting only displays from the middle one below the logo, how do i make it display from all of them?

The lighting is only along the bottom center strip, the Green you're seeing go out along the sides is merely accenting trim. It would have been nice to see either just the single bit being green instead of all along the bottom or just extend it but that just doesn't happen to be the case here.

It's still quite bright and doesn't really seem invasive. You can adjust the lighting option in the OSD though from either Off, On or Breathing.

Enjoy interactive streaming with this Google Nest Hub. With the built-in Google Assistant, you can view your calendar, receive alerts and reminders, and control devices from the single dashboard, and voice control lets you access other smart features. This Google Nest Hub lets you listen to music from Spotify and Pandora and view YouTube content. "

Can this be used with your phone to make video calls? Using Duo App?

It cannot :( as it lacks a Camera. There may be 3rd Party models that include one, but the one from Google does not have this capability. I attached a photo of mine, pardon the grainyness, but at the top you can see a small oval, this is an Ambient Light sensor to adjust the screen brightness. There's 2 mics flanking the Sensor to it's sides.

I imagine in the next revision we may get a Camera though.
