Comfortable and good sounding earbuds, but quiet

I've tested out numerous headphones and earbuds in the past couple years. Many gave stood out and some have failed to impress. That isn't to say I dislike these though.
I'm not entirely certain where these would fall. I think it would require more time spent with them to discern the differences between them. There's some voodoo that Yamaha uses to allow them to adjust themseleves to your specific ears. They use a proprietary technology that measures the distance the sound is travelling from the earbuds to your inner ear to achieve a better more perfect sound.
How this is put in to practice and whether you can tell the difference is remain to be seen, again I think this is an over time kind of deal.
I used them for a few hours. I had to fiddle with different sizes to find a good fit. The ones that were already on the unit were slightly too large to where it was uncomfortable, but thankfully they include several. I believe theres 7 different sized tips and there's 3 different sized, not sure what to call them, but the piece that holds it in place.
One thing I did notice with the largest holder, it will not allow the earbuds to charge. The lip on them is too large and keeps the earbuds propped up inside the charging case to where the contacts on the earbuds and the pins in the case never make contact. This is a slight design oversight. I did try moving them around but it never would charge them.
One thing I appreciate is the use of Type-C for charging the case. This means less cables to have lying around.I had these connected to a 48W fast charge capable charger and using the type-c to type-c cable it did charge them in about an hour or so.
There is an app you can download, it's pretty no frills. There's not a lot in the app to speak of other than the ability to adjust volume and perform updates. There's no eq or anything of that sort. They do however appear to support eq based apps. I have them paird with by Tab S7+ and Note 10+ and adjusting the phones eq does affect the audio, something that I've seen never be the case.
Audio quality wise, I'd say they're pretty darn good. There's not a lot of bass, but more a balanced and nuanced sound profile to them. I tested with an eq on and off. Samsung also features a sound profile system baked in where you can run what's essentially a hearing test and it will boost certain frequencies or reduce them. Adjusting these didn't really make much of a difference.
Various music seems to come out very balanced. I listened to some EDM, Hip Hop, Metal, Rock and some classical stuff. I believe that you can really only get a true reproduction with over ear headphones due to the larger diaphragms involved. Earbuds can only do so much given their compactness. These do an admirable job though. I really can't help but compare them to another pair of earbuds I own, specifically some Sony's. I do personally prefer more bass in my listening and I did find the Yamaha's a bit lacking in this regard. I also find that they don't feel loud. ANC on or off made no discernable difference with the loudness. The Sony's also feature ANC and I think their implementation is a bit better as it allows you to adjust them depending on your surroundings. You can still hear things with the ambient mode on the Yamaha's which is important if you're outside on a run/walk or doing other excercising.
Overall, I'd say they're a great pair of earbuds. They fit well, they have a nice balanced sound, though I do wish they'd go a bit louder.

Fast, High speed portable storage.

So in the few days I've had with the drive and testing it, I have to say, for an external solution, it's a joy to use. It's also very small, it's really not all that much bigger than the USB 3.0 SanDisk Extreme drive I have pictured.
For sake of longevity I haven't written too much data to the drive, though I've used some software to test it.
Your results are going to vary quite a bit depending on the cable you're using to connect to the drive.
The included cable, which I wish was much much longer, it's only about 4 or 5 inches in length will allow you to use the drive to its maximum cabability. In the images I've attached to this review, two of them are using the provided cable. The ones with over 900MB/s Read and Write's are with this cable through a Gen 3.1 Type C port on the back of my motherboard. I was also able to replicate the performance on another HP computer with a Type-C on the front panel.
For using the included USB 3.0 to Type-C adapter, you can expect a maximum of 450-460MB/s. This is due to the limitation of the USB 3.0 ports.
When using Type-C to Type-C 3.1/3.2 cables you can easily get close to the rated speed of the drive. I didn't ever get 1050MB/s but I got fairly close with the 980MB/s in the screenshots.
I used CrystalDiskMark with a write size of 64MB and also used ATTO Disk with a 64MB write test as well. The ATTO test was with the adapter, as was the slower CrystalDiskMark test.
If you're looking for an excellent fast option for external storage at a good size for a not so crazy price, this is an excellent option. The particular drive that was used at least in my unit was a Western Digital Blue SN550 drive. In the desktop NVME variant's these drives are capable of hitting as much as 2200MB/s. The drive itself is of very good quality and carries that reliability that Western Digital is known for.
This would work well for just needing a large drive to install programs or games on, or even for keeping media on if you need to take it on the go.
definite reccommend for large, fast portable storage.

Good option for growing Vegetables indoors
on November 16, 2020

It is a little over 2 weeks since we received our Aerogarden Farm 24 XL. We were able to start reaping some of the fresh vegetables this week. It's nice to not have to run to store to get a package of spring mix when I can just reach over to make our own.
I do wish we would have had a choice of pod kits. 12 pods of tomatoes was a bit too much for 2 adults. The pods of herbs would have worked better for us. We did have some heirloom tomato pods that didn't grow though, I'd say there were 2 of them.
We didn't expect it to be as big as it is, so some adjusting had to be made to make available space, but we did it. Anxious to see the tomatoes form and grow.
The packaging was good. The setup however, that took a lot of time. There’s a lot of fit and finish issue’s so it feels cheap. I do question the quality and longevity of the unit and its electronics.
When assembling the unit, a lot of the threaded holes in the frame simply do not line up perfectly which means you have to force a lot screws/bolts in. It’s incredibly frustrating and what I assume is likely a 15-25 minute setup turned in to an hour or so where I had to use multiple tools just to get the frame to a point where I could drive the screw/bolt in straight. One of the storage bins on the top of the unit, the cover will pop off when it’s closed fully or if you open it because the frame itself is not properly shaped, therefore the cover flexes outwards because the frame there is too narrow. The opposite side didn’t have this issue though. In the pictures you can see how there’s a gap between the left frame and the top.
I think if there was some closer QA during the manufacturing process, especially with the cost of the unit, the quality would be significantly higher.
We will certainly see how the unit holds up over time though. So far already having something harvestable after right about 3 weeks’ time without having to deal with a having a dedicated garden outside and being subject to the elements, it’s quite a nice alternative.
Aside from the troublesome assembly, the only thing I could see improving on is the LED lights themselves. They’re incredibly bright and you cannot adjust said brightness. I’d happily be fine with lower brightness lights and more on time. When I did first setup the unit I legitimately thought something wrong with it as the LED’s were all flashing rapidly. After about 30 minutes they eventually went to a steady state, so if you experience this, it appears that it’s normal. I would say that if you have a light sensitivity or suffer from photosensitivity/epilepsy, you might want to steer clear here cause the lights will rapidly flash in varying patterns that can lead to disorientation.
The app is easy to use and pretty much mimic’s what you see on the screen on the unit itself. That’s nice as you can monitor everything exactly as it appears and it keeps the intuitiveness in check.
If you’re looking for something where you can grow pretty much anything indoors with minimal maintenance, this may very well be for you, though you may want to research others to see what best fits for you.

Best option of having a combined setup
on October 29, 2020

My experience with Radar detectors is incredibly limited. I had one roughly a decade ago and I had nothing but issues with it as it would constantly alert without anyone in sight. It seems it was better suited at picking up bands used in Banks and Security systems in places like retail stores or Convenience/Gas stations.
So far in my limited time with the Road Scout, it’s been nothing but good. There were a couple times where it didn’t alert when there was a police car sitting on the side of the road. Perhaps their radar was off, but they sure seemed like they were sitting to catch someone. It happened I think once more, When I did have one behind me one day going through a school zone, the detector constantly alerted me to their presence, I was able to just press mute and all was fine. Of course it eventually went off again as there was another officer less than a mile up the road lying in wait again at a different school zone.
It appears to be working just fine in that sense. The Dash Cam seems to work great as well. You do need their app, I have both iRadar and DriveHD installed on my phone to get all the benefits of the device. I noticed with DriveHD there was a fair bit of latency and delay with the dash cam to my phone. I didn’t go back to see if this was there in recorded video though. It’s likely just something where you’re going to get a delay with it being WiFi to your device, which of course is going to be better than dealing with Bluetooth for HD video.
I wish there was an option to change the resolution though. It would certainly help with how much time you can record. I did go ahead and put a 32GB MicroSD card in there as that is what shows as the maximum amount it supports. From some other reviews it seems it can also use up to 128GB but it’s not expressively supported in the documents. I’ve got one from my previous Dash Cam that I can test with, something I’ll likely do next time I’m out and about.
I really like the fact that this is all in one. It’s much less to deal with and less cumbersome that having a Dash Cam and separate Radar Detector taking up a larger amount of your windshield and or Dashboard. Despite all that’s contained in the unit, is a very reasonably size device. It almost looks like an old school style of Binoculars which I think is just sleek and cool.
Setting it up and installing it was a breeze. I may look at going the hardware route so that way recording is possible at all times if someone bumps in to the car.
One thing of note, if your car does not have an 12V in proximity to the windshield, you’ll need to make use of the Elite Series Straight SmartCord as it is a substantially longer cable. The one that was included wouldn’t even reach my Windshield. I have 2010 Buick LaCrosse and for some reason it was thought that putting the 12v inside the console inbetween the driver and passenger seats was a great idea, unfortunately that’s far from the case.
***I do want to mention, and this does not affect my review in any way. Because of the shorter cable included, since this was for a review, I reached out to Elite and spoke with someone in their customer service about this. I did not go in to the phone call with any expectation, but the customer service representative went above and beyond my expectations. I explained to them that it was a review unit and that I was unable to do anything with it due to the ridiculous placement of my car’s 12v and they put in an order for me at no cost, the longer power adapter. I was already set to plunk down the $30 for the adapter, but to go out of the way for a customer like this, it really speaks to company that they care for the customer. I just again wanted to mention this, and also again reiterate, this does not at all influence the review as I was willing to already spend the money so I could utilize the product.***
All that said, if you’re in the market for a Dash Cam and a Radar Detector, this is an incredibly great proposition for combining both devices and putting it in a sleek, well designed compact as it can be package. I look forward to many years of service with the device and am sure it will continue to please.

Best Noise Cancelling in the business
on September 29, 2020
Posted by: Saitzev
from Missouri, USA
Ah, the great Bose QC 35 II. I did previously have a pair of these but had retired them in favor for another pair of headphones. Though I half regretted doing so as the noise cancellation of them is really difficulty to beat.
Queue the next model in their QC lineup, the Gaming variant. It brings everything you loved about the 35 II to use for gaming.
I have to say, the sound quality in them is quite stellar, just as the non-gaming model. Aside from the Bose name being bronze on the ear cups and the inside of the earcups and headband having a bronze contrasting, they're pretty much identical. From what I can remember, I feel these are a bit more boomy that the original. Though that could just be because it's been so long since I had used them.
Noise cancelling, what can I say, it's pretty impressive. When it's enabled you really can't hear anything but the game and if your using voice chat, yourself and other users. These things effectively block out all other sounds which is good and bad of course. If someone tries to get your attention, you're not gonna hear them unless they come up to you and get your attention physically. There is one minor drawback to this, though it wasn't an issue for me really even with the headset only being at 60% when I got it and hadn't charged it since, but the Noise Cancellation requires that the headset be powered on. Understandable, though I do wish instead of connecting via the 3.5mm cable, it connected via USB from the USB controller to the headset. This way it could not only be powered, but you don't have to worry about losing it when the battery is discharged. Nothing deal breaking there, just some feedback for the future.
The fit on them is perfect, just as I remembered. I have a largish dome and there's more than enough adjustment in the band to fit a variety of noggins. The ear cups are large enough to fit around most users ears. They fully surround mine without issue and this furthers the effect of the noise cancellation. I was able to wear them for hours on end and they never once felt uncomfortable. They never sagged or shifted during many game sessions no matter how intense.
Mic Quality, this is pretty darn good. I'd put it up there with the ModMic or even what was my gaming headset for a while, the Boom Pro for the V-Moda's.
It doesn't compare to a standalone cardioid mic, but it will definitely get the job done.
Now that all said, there is a big con to this mic. Sensitivity. Regardless how much I adjusted the gain through Windows or even in Voice chat applications it would pick up everything. I currently game using a Razer Huntsman Elite clicky (Purple Switches) and the Naga Pro Wireless. Both of these are mechanical switch based. The mic would pick up every click of the mouse and ever key press on the keyboard. This is essentially a deal breaker for me when it comes to streaming. I don't mind if folks hear the keyboard, but hearing both and it taking almost center stage is of course not something you want. I'm not sure if I missed something in the quick guide, but it doesn't look or sound like there's any kind of Noise Cancellation with the Microphone itself and this is something you really want. It almost seems as though the mic is more designed as Omnidirectional instead of it being Cardioid. If Bose can work this little feature out in a later revision or add a piece of software to control the mic on the computer, or even through their app, it would make these completely viable for streaming.
That all said, in the E-Sports sector, I could see this being an excellent option, especially when you're needing to tune everything out, which they do magnificently. The only downfall again is the Mic picking up everything around you. Adding a piece of foam around the mic could correct this easily and I did not try this, though I may at a later point as I've got some older headsets that I can repurpose parts from.
If you're a competitive gamer and want something that will allow you to tune out the world and tune in to the game, these are for you. If you're looking for something that's Streamer friendly, these can still fit the bill, but you'll want to do something that can eliminate the effect of the Microphone picking up everything around you.

Good way to Real Time monitor your Air Quality
on September 21, 2020
Posted by: Saitzev
from Missouri, USA
This isn't going to be too in-depth. It's an air filter for you home that allows you to monitor things like Indoor/Outdoor Air Quality and provide you with information on the remaining life/quality of the filter itself.
Biggest thing to bear in mind, your mileage will vary depending on your region and the pollutants around. If you're inner city with a lot pollutants, you're probably going to be going through filters often enough. We live in the city, but it's a smaller city and we're away from most industry. The air is pretty nice in our area. I forgot what the status was on the filter but at the rate we go through them I'm gonna bet it should last us at least 6 months to a year before needing replaced. At least with this filter it will help give a better idea and notify us before it's time to replace it.
If you want a good system in place to monitor your quality of air in your home or even business, this is going to be one of the best ways to go.
Setup was a breeze. You simply pull apart the the "cap" on the monitor of the filter, and go through the process of pairing it to the app.
The app itself is easy to use and very intuitive. It doesn't take long to get your bearings or bring up information. You can even order new or additional filters directly from the app. Just click the type of product, your filter size, then browse the various filters. When you find one you want that has the features you need, tap on it and then you can tap on buy. It will then give you a list of available retailers to buy said filter from.
Hopefully this helps some of you. As I said, not very in-depth, but hopefully some useful information.

Good charger to replace a stock one.
on September 11, 2020

I've used many chargers over the years from those included with your phone/tablet to various third party models.
The Boost Charge Belkin is pretty nice. It is a bit bulky though. I tested it on a couple devices, namely my Note 10+ and Galaxy Tab S6. It charges them both at a slow charge rate. I expect this on the Tab S6 though with it being a tablet.
I was a bit disappointed that it couldn't fast charge the Note 10+ though. I estimate it took around 60-90 minutes for it to charge from 15% to 80%.
If you're looking for a charger to replace what came with your phone, I would recommend one their more higher wattage chargers, one that delivers at least 15-20W per port. These are only 12W so they're only capable of charging at the normal/slow rate. They're not bad if you're in a hurry and want to keep at say your office and let charge throughout the day, but definitely not if you're needing fast charging.
I do like the aesthetic of it and it's pretty hefty so it doesn't feel cheap at all. I actually have it on a surge outlet under my computer desk so that I can plug my Tablet or Phone in for when I'm going to be at my desk all day.
The cable they included could be longer. 3.3Ft might seem like a lot, but if your outlet isn't nearby you'll definitely need a longer cable.
Other than this and the lack of Fast Charging, it's good replacement for your included charger and will likely hold up over time much better.

Another fantastic Ninja product
on September 7, 2020
Posted by: Saitzev
from Missouri, USA
I gotta say, Ninja really nails it with their designs.
I love the look of the new Food Air Fryer. We've used it a handful of times and everything has come out perfect, from Pork Chops to Chicken Tenderloins. Everything comes out moist and perfectly cooked.
It also pretty quiet which is a major plus. You can hear it but it's not loud like a lot of air fryers we've gone through over the years. It's definitely replaced the one we had before and that one now sits in the garage.
I like how there's the 2 baskets and that you can cook two of the same or two different things at the same time. It does affect how long things take to make though. The controls are also simple and intuitive. If you need to make something but need to use both baskets to do so you just press Match Cook to "sync" the baskets. It's got plenty of options for cooking for an air fryer, more than you'd expect.
Can't wait to try some other things in there. I've been really pleased with it so far, not to mention all the other Ninja products we have that have stood the test of time over the years.
If you want something that doesn't take up all your counter space or has the option of cooking two things at once, the Ninja Foodi line is pretty hard to beat.

Excellent headset for gaming and entertainment
on August 23, 2020
Posted by: Saitzev
from Missouri, USA
I have used many a different headset for my PC.
I genuinely can say these are my favorite. My only dislike is that they're closed back over ear's. I prefer open back can's so I can hear things around me if needed. That aside these are fantastic.
Sound quality... Where to begin? They do everything well, gaming, music, movies, you name these will drive it.
There's plenty of highs and a whole lot of bass.
I didn't make use of the mic a whole lot, but it works great. It's by no means a replacement for a dedicated mic.
I've been using them for not quite a week now and through various games from Apex, Warzon, Forza Horizon and so many others and they have delivered so far, and awesome and immersive experience. The Razer Synapse software that prompts to install upon connecting the USB sound card has a lot of customization options from the EQ to different THX audio profiles.
It does help in games like FPS titles. Forza though, man that just sounds awesome and it's really immersive with hearing sounds around you. It definitely makes a difference when trying to place where opponents are.
I was pleasantly surprised and taken aback at the quality and quantity of the bass. These things get loud and really really boomy. They do great for music and a variety of it from rap/hip hop, rock and even classical.
If you're in the market for a fantastic pair of headphones for gaming, these are pretty hard to beat. They remind of when the Hyper X Cloud 2's dropped but these are better, especially considering the price.
I do have one concern with them and that's the hinges that connect the ear cups to the headband. They don't at all feel flimsy, but I question their longevity being thin metal bars. You definitely don't want to try and flext these or be rough with them. Time will tell, but I think they're gonna hold up fine. Like I said, it's just a concern, not con at all.

Good Camera System on a budget

Seems like a good system and it has a lot of potential.
I've not much or if any experience with Security Camera setups, but have been looking at getting one for several years now as it just seems to be something one needs with all the stories we read and hear in the news and in media.
Unfortunately for me, it took forever to get it installed as the installer I had lined up kept pushing it out due to other clients having more pressing issues so I've not gotten as much time as I would have liked to get the review out on time.
This is neither a pro or con, but you do need to have either a TV or a Monitor with an available HDMI input. This is the only way you can use the NVR and it’s needed for setup. You cannot do the setup through the app by itself.
Pros
Again, bear in mind the above and understand that with more time, experience could change so of course your mileage may vary.
• The NightOwl system I can definitely say is a nice looking setup. It's got a simple aesthetic and build to the cameras.
• The NVR is nice as well as it's a small unit and doesn't really take up much space, not compared with a lot of other units I've seen where they're over a 12"x12"x4-5". This one is less than a foot in width and depth and it's only about 3 inches tall. You can easily conceal the unit somewhere or leave it visible as it will just blend in. It doesn't stand out and it could easily be mistaken for something like a modem or router.
• 4 Cameras, plenty for a smaller home.
• Quickish setup and installation.
Cons
So there are a few here.
• As I mentioned with the aesthetics, it does look nice, but... the cameras feel cheap. Time will tell how they hold up. Being in the Midwest in Tornado Alley and with all the severe storms we get in our area, it’s a wait and see.
• App control, it’s ok, there’s a lot of room for improvement
• Installation while seemingly quick, setup can easily go awry, as many other reviews of not only this system but other models, if you don’t put things in a certain order, you can mess up on getting notifications and alerts on your mobile device. Make sure you take to time to consult the setup guides and even more so, consult the website and its support sections.
• Picture quality, seems to be hit and miss with a lot of users. Mine was ok, but I surmise this is the price you pay for wireless setups, with wired, you’re going to get a better and more stable image quality. Wireless will always be prone to interference from a variety of things such as walls, concrete, metal, all these things can really reduce performance by a lot.
• The “software” used to monitor the cameras can feel cumbersome and well, wonky. I’m apparently not the only one that felt this way. It could be my inexperience talking, even though I come from a background in I.T. and I’m what you would consider a highly advanced user.
• There’s a lot of things in the NVR menu and a lot things are buried or placed in redundant submenus. With time and updates and revisions to the software, I imagine it will only get better and easier to use.
• Hardwire is require to your Modem/Router, this is a non-starter, if you don’t have a free port, you’re going to have an issue with the install.
• The motion detection “works” but it’s pretty sensitive. Sometimes from some of my recordings, it never picked up on movement, other times it might trigger from something blowing across the yard. I know it’s proprietary technology, but I think it would be great if Ring would offer their Motion Detection and Zoning to other companies.
• Arguably the biggest con here has got to be power. You need to run power to the cameras. So either 2 things need to be done, make sure you have an outlet next to the camera, and outdoors this is unlikely, or you need to either run and extension cable outside, or during install, run a cable indoors and then fish the AC Adapter threw a hole out to the camera. The latter is what I had my installer do up in the attic. It’s a big annoyance and I feel it takes away from the “Wireless” aspect. Most other companies use Solar Cells on the top, or more popularly, internal rechargeable batteries in combination with the Solar Cells. This is a price you pay for have continuous recording capabilities.
Would I recommend this setup, possibly? It entirely depends on your needs. If you don’t need continuous recording, you can go a different route and get one that is only motion based and only records when you need it to. So long as you keep your expectations reasonable, you won’t be disappointed. This is still a great setup for those wanting some extra security but don’t want to spend $500-1000 on a setup.
Personally, I would likely go the route of a wired setup and have someone do that install despite it being cumbersome with having to run cables. The most ideal situation would be installing the cameras and the having the Recording unit in the attic, or another accessible area where the cables are not in the way and not visible. You get much greater stability and picture quality and have the benefit of continuous recording.

Unlock a world of crypto possibilities with the Ledger Nano S. The world’s most popular hardware wallet to securely start your crypto journey. Buy, secure, exchange, grow and manage your favorite crypto assets.

Does this wallet support Dogecoin?

It certainly does. You can buy, swap or send and receive Dogecoin on the Nano. You do all this from the Ledger Live app either on PC or your mobile device. I'd recommend doing so from the PC as connecting it to your phone would require you to use an adapter since it uses the antiquated Micro-USB connection.

If you need to know about other coins, you can visit the Ledger website and click on Crypto Assets and from there search to see what it supported.

Stream your favorite tunes from media servers, PCs and smart devices with this Yamaha sound bar. The built-in Alexa voice control lets you decide how your favorite content should play, and the preset modes provide different surround sound effects for your listening pleasure. Featuring clear voice technology, this Yamaha sound bar ensures clear dialog so you can keep up with critical scenes or plot twists.

can i use this remote only and not have to go to a different one?

If you're meaning whether or not you have to use the included remote, then yes, you don't have to use any other. If you mean if you can use a 3rd party universal remote, that would be something you would probably have to reach out to Yamaha or the manufacturer of the remote for.

Also keep in mind you can use your phone as a remote with the Sound Bar app. It's called Sound Bar Controller and it's made by Yamaha. You can also use Alexa to control it as well.

Do you know the average fps on high setting on high quality games.

Performance is of course going to vary from game to game especially when you consider the settings people use. I've attached my benchmark report from AC:Odyssey. This would be a killer unit if the GPU was a 1650 instead of the paltry 1050. As you can see at 1080 it just barely holds on to 30 fps at mostly medium. Further tweaking and you can probably get that closer to 35-40.

I bought this laptop with 256gb a month ago. Can I add extra 2.5 Internal HDD or SDD in it?

You certainly can. It's got expansion for another M.2 drive as well as a standard 2.5" Mechanical or SSD drive. If you want to expand the SSD storage I'd recommend looking at the Corsair MP510 series. They're cheap, fast, have a 5yr warranty and will probably outlive you lol. They have the highest endurance of any drives currently on the market, enterprise sector aside.

See who's at the door on your smartphone with this SkyBell Trim Plus home-security doorbell. It sends HD video and two-way audio and can detect and record a visitor's presence via live monitoring and a motion sensor. This rugged SkyBell Trim Plus home-security doorbell has full-color night vision and withstands inclement weather.

Does it come with the angle mount?

It does not sadly. You'll have to buy them. They're $10 per wedge at their website. You'll have to use theirs though, I bought some off Amazon and the SkyBell does not fit on them. They secure points or too close together which makes it impossible to use with them. Sadly I had to eat the cost cause it would have cost me more to send them back than I did paying for them.

How many USB ports does it have

Sadly it doesn't have any. I was hoping it might have had even just 2 USB 2.0 ports but it doesn't even have that.

Does this monitor rotate to be used in portrait mode?

You sure can rotate it. It might not seem like with how high the stand extends, but it is enough with some room left if you have anything beneath the screen itself.

The ambient lighting only displays from the middle one below the logo, how do i make it display from all of them?

The lighting is only along the bottom center strip, the Green you're seeing go out along the sides is merely accenting trim. It would have been nice to see either just the single bit being green instead of all along the bottom or just extend it but that just doesn't happen to be the case here.

It's still quite bright and doesn't really seem invasive. You can adjust the lighting option in the OSD though from either Off, On or Breathing.

Enjoy interactive streaming with this Google Nest Hub. With the built-in Google Assistant, you can view your calendar, receive alerts and reminders, and control devices from the single dashboard, and voice control lets you access other smart features. This Google Nest Hub lets you listen to music from Spotify and Pandora and view YouTube content. "

Can this be used with your phone to make video calls? Using Duo App?

It cannot :( as it lacks a Camera. There may be 3rd Party models that include one, but the one from Google does not have this capability. I attached a photo of mine, pardon the grainyness, but at the top you can see a small oval, this is an Ambient Light sensor to adjust the screen brightness. There's 2 mics flanking the Sensor to it's sides.

I imagine in the next revision we may get a Camera though.
