A very nice rendition of a multi-purpose machine

As most have come to expect, HP does not make junk. They have some of the best printers, scanners, computers, etc. This is no exception. This thing feels solid. It prints, scans, copies, etc. very well. The auto document feeder works flawlessly, something that can be a make or break situation for these types of machines, at least in my mind. Having an auto document feeder that you are constantly worried about feeding properly is too stressful and very frustrating. This is not something you have to worry about here.
Yes, it is rated at 20 ppm black and 10 ppm color. Speed isn't an issue with this machine, it feels like it's doing a decent job. It can do automatic double sided copies/print jobs if desired.
But it seems as if HP has made it more robust behind the scenes. They boast of self-healing WIFI, enhanced security features, and document protection. All I know is that it worked, worked well, and am glad these things are happening behind the scenes to make this a better, and more secure, customer experience. I don't need to know how all of these things are working in the background, just glad they are, plus it works when I need it.
It has all the "cloud based" features, smart phone app control, able to interface with dropbox, google drive, email, etc. All with the app.
The touch screen is large enough to be useful, and is responsive enough you will think you are using a high end tablet because it is so decent to use.
The biggest problem I had when I first got this, was the issue of ink. Yes, I know, the elephant in the room. Yes, they do offer a subscription plan for ink replacements based on number of pages printed per month. And I was thinking that this is just yet one more way to sign you up for something, but then I started doing the math. You can spend $5/month and after 12 months (1 year) you've spent $60, the cost of ink replacement. Or you could instead think of this as regardless of how much ink it uses, based on what you sign up for, you'll never have to worry about it again. Paying $60 for ink on a $180+/- printer seems crazy. But when I rationalize it out to $5/month for that ink, I'm okay with it. I hate having to come up with that big sum at the end for ink vs. paying it monthly. I do alot of printing at home for labels, college reports, work reports, etc. and do not want to have to think about ink costs on a weekend when I need to do a report and realize I'm too low on ink. If you sign up, you get 6 months free ink, then a 2 year warranty, and it doesn't cost much for that ink.
Now you MAY be able to cheat and get the generic cartridges, but then I started to think back about all those generics I've bought and gotten frustrated with when one of them doesn't work and you end up buying a new set (as they don't sell them in individuals per se). Or they leak all over your rug. We know these are genuine HP carts, and they work. The printer works, the cartridges work, etc. I value my ability to print stuff; if I'm printing something, it is important and don't like having to fuss with leaking cartridges, defective cartridges, etc. It's been said enough, you get what you pay for. With HP you may not be using the least expensive option, but you are using an option that will get you reliability, quality, and longevity. I've got HP stuff in my house that has been here for years and works as well as the day I first brought that HP stuff home.

A very inventive idea and very close to perfection
on March 24, 2021

from PHILLY SUBURBS
It's by far the most inventive arrangement I've seen in awhile, bringing K-cups to co-habitate with a regular automatic drip coffee maker. The ability to do both makes me so happy, and it is sized right for the busy counters in our kitchen. This has a clock and timer, so you can set it to go on at a certain time. That is really helpful for me, so I can smell coffee and get moving. Great feature and will be used daily.
This even has an included K-cup thing to put ground coffee into, to brew fresh coffee in a K-cup sized cup vs. a pot. And great feature #2, it knows if you are using a K-Cup or not, so it shows ounces vs. cups. Put in a K-cup and it says ounces as you are used to with K-cup brewers, or if you use ground coffee it says cups. Very smart.
If you like #1 and 2 above, you'll love feature #3, which is the thermal carafe. Brilliant! Keeps coffee hot and fresh for hours. Love this and it really rounds out the package. There is no heated burner to worry about leaving on or getting warped/rusted, so this is really thoughtful!
So why not 5 stars? I don't like the fact that you alot of dripping when removing the basket, to remove the K-cup, and the dripping occurs onto the clock/timer, as well as the counters. For me, no issue, I simply use a paper towel under it, throw out the K-cup, and then return it to the inserted position until it is ready for next use. By then the drips of coffee have dried up, so they aren't dripping all over. My grown kids however, aren't as neat, and coffee drips were all over the counter and the clock/timer/buttons. While likely water resistant, I still have concerns about that. And honestly, the unit is not solid like a K-cup brewer, and I fear less than careful hands (like my grown kids) will not be careful and break it - the tower arm that comes over where the basket goes sort of has to be held while you slip the basket into place - if not, it slides around and feels like it isn't very solid.
Anyway, you can decide if you can live with this or not. It'll work for me, as long as the kids are careful and I'm sure it'll be constant reminders. But it is a great solution to me wanting to brew real coffee some days and K-cups on other days. The thermal carafe is a real big plus and worthy of consideration when you couple this with the fact the same machine does K-cups.

Amazing sound, great connectivity options!
on March 21, 2021

from PHILLY SUBURBS
Right off the bat, I'd like you to know this has the typical sound quality you'd expect from a name like Denon. Amazing sound. Nothing can come close to the sound quality of something like Denon.
These speakers look as great as they sound. They are also very well built - and are not lightweight. These things are solid, solid like a rock! I can tell you so many times today you expect something to weight alot and then it doesn't, it is kind of a letdown. These do not disappoint.
There are lots of options for these for connectivity AND for ease of playing. You can connect via WIFI, wired network, bluetooth, airplay 2, USB, or Aux cable. Then you can use the HEOS app (free) to auto login to your music services to play music more easily. I can tell you that there is much more that this can do then even I was able to get around to, like Alexa.
What I will tell you is that between WIFI and bluetooth, there is nothing more that I need. I was so happy to also use Airplay 2 to send audio from Youtube over to the speakers.
Besides the sound quality, the next biggest thing I would tell you about these is that you can play them in different rooms, and play different things in different rooms, OR you can use these as a stereo speaker set. I really like the stereo speaker set option. Why? Today we often use a single speaker to play music but I'll be honest, I feel like I need to hear things in stereo. This makes this need of mine be completely fulfilled. If I don't hear things in stereo I feel like I'm losing my hearing and that makes me feel like I'm getting old or something. So, without a doubt, these are a favorite of mine and the HEOS software brings this whole thing together very well. I've shown a couple of pics below how you can play on different speakers or put the speakers together and play the same thing on the different speakers.
If you want a nice way to go for sound quality, a piece of hardware that is as solid as a rock, with lots of connectivity options, and a decent app that has software to bring this all together and make this a real success, read no more and get this/these. I have two of them now and will be getting at least two more. If you love music, you owe it to yourself to try these. Best Buy has a generous return policy and will make you feel confident that if they aren't for you, you can return them without any hassles.

OMG, what a scanner! This will be a lifesaver
on February 5, 2021
Posted by: stevefromtheburbs
from PHILLY SUBURBS
EPSON hit this out of the ballpark with this model and I’m so glad to have this. Everything Epson puts out is good stuff, but this is truly exceptional as scanners go.
Okay my situation is that my wife is a “piler” and piles of paper have been an issue for us. Truly stuff that is needed to keep but we are out of space in our little house. So what to do. Has been trying to photograph each piece of paper but space to store is high and quality is not good enough to keep and email/print/review later if needed.
Here comes this scanner. Wow! Double sided color and auto convert to pdf, with a 100 sheet auto feeder that works like the pros have. Yes, this is pro grade! Wow!
The display is a touch screen that works as good as your cell phone touch screen. And looks awesome so no squinting to see.
There are like a million features in this that will take me some time to fully implement but the software is a powerful addition to this powerful scanner. Expenses can be documented easily and imported into excel or financial software. There is a $200 software program that is included with this and is like Adobe but better.
I’ve got to say, this is something you need if you have expense reports to do, if you are or have a paper piler in your house, or if you would simply like to get rid of paper when there are things you need to keep, or if you love tech products. This is so full of options and ways to save your scans, only thing missing is to directly scan to iCloud. This supports many other cloud storage options like Dropbox, google, and one drive. Epson connect, a free service, will send emails to wherever you want with the scans attached, as pdf’s, if you have trouble setting up email scanning. Or you can scan from your smartphone (free app) to your iCloud storage or to your phone. So many options!
Honestly, this is a much bigger solution than you would think. Scanners have a place in our lives but we just don’t realize it. Old photos can be scanned so easily now, just one more thing you can do.
The scanner is smaller than you think, but bigger in terms of features than you could imagine. And I’m missing a lot but if I rambled on you’d be reading about it all day.
Try it, use Bestbuy’s generous return policy if you don’t agree but once you see and use this you’ll realize the value of this.

If you want the best, look no further
on January 26, 2021

from PHILLY SUBURBS
I was amazed at how this packaged, so carefully, to prevent damage, and that carried over into the actual product as well.
This is no ordinary juicer, not even close. And it is not simply a blender. It does all of it. And if you use your imagination, you can do far more than you realize.
Let me say that this machine is a beast, and when I did ice crushing, the machine torque was enough that it would fly off the counter if not for the rubber feet. Yes, it’s that powerful!
The blade setup is very sturdy looking and proved to be powerful enough to blend anything I put in it. Fruit, ice, and I even tried some meat items to see what it could do, and it did that without difficulty.
The control panel is very nice and well lit. I tried to blend but had not engaged the lock bar, it would not let me, great safety feature! But once engaged, the selection you choose it lit and the timer window shows you elapsed time.
This is going to be a life changer for our family as we get into doing smoothies and juices at home. Smoothies at a shop are good but very expensive. Doing them at home ensures I know what is in it but also will save bucks in the process.

Possibly best headphones, ever? I'm thinking yes!
on January 22, 2021
Posted by: stevefromtheburbs
from PHILLY SUBURBS
Okay, I know, price point, makes it impossible to be the best headphones, right? But I have to tell you, if you give them a try, you might agree with me. The quality of the headphones themselves is apparent when you turn them on, and put them on. From the padded band that rests on top of your head, to the cups that are soft as a pillow top mattress, with some way of keeping your ears from getting hot and sweaty, with buttons that make sense and are easy to press without taking them off.
Before you even start the music, you realize that this noise cancelling system is different from the rest, and works unbelievably well. Whether you are using ANC mode or you are using awareness mode, it works amazingly well. I'm not kidding. These headphones work well to seclude you from the world around you, if you want, or allow you to hear things going on around you. Either way, it does what it says it is supposed to do.
Turning to the music portion, you will be very happy with the sound that comes out of these. I'm very particular about music quality and these replicate the music very well. I'm very pleased with what I'm hearing. Very pleased. And that is saying something. I listen to everything from classical music, to older rock, to Frank Sinatra, and everything else. I fell asleep with these on, listening to Brian Crane, and woke a few hours later feeling no overheated ears, no discomfort. I wear glasses and never felt like they interfered or caused any problems with my glasses.
While these connect via bluetooth and use low energy bluetooth, there is the ability to connect via a 3.5mm connector to older non-bluetooth devices. Also, these charge via USB-C, which is helpful too as the world heads in that direction. It comes with the charging cable, but like most other things, no power brick to charge them.
These leave me feeling like I have gotten a high end headset by mistake, I had to check the package and stuff to be sure it is the right version that I received. They are the right ones, and they are a real winner!
Best Buy has a generous return policy, but you won't need it if you try these. Trust me, I'm sold. And if I'm sold, I'm fairly certain you will be too!

An appliance I've been living without, what a shame
on January 19, 2021
Posted by: stevefromtheburbs
from PHILLY SUBURBS
In my list of appliances for a modern kitchen, I never considered using a kettle. I feel like I've wasted years not taking advantage of such a great thing. Somewhere between the microwave, K-Cups, regular coffee maker, etc. I guess I didn't realize how much this would help to have.
I'm an avid iced tea drinker. So, until now, I would heat up water in the microwave, then make tea from that water. However, this doesn't work like a kettle. Sure, it boils water, but doesn't keep it hot like a kettle. This is so cool and has so many safety features built in, there is no comparison.
You can heat a pot of water and it will stay hot in here. And, you can simply hit the button to reheat it. With this, you will always have hot water ready to go without the fuss of the microwave. It is a great thing that I guess I lost track of and am sorry because it is a nice addition to my kitchen.
This unit has safety features like a boil dry shut off, so if you are out of water it will turn off and not burn up. There is an overflow in that if you fill it too high, it will leak out under the unit, through the steam release port. Interesting, I did this, and nothing bad happened even though the water was all over surface of the stovetop where I had placed it - the unit simply worked and did not freak out the power base. No sparks, no fires, nothing. Worked great! So this safety works.
By the way, the kettle is NOT plugged into the cord, the kettle sits on a base. You simply remove the kettle, fill it up, pour it, etc. and put it back on its electric base. So easy. Not like the old days when the kettle cord was plugged into the kettle and you had to pour without the cord getting mucked up or pulling out of the wall outlet. Genius!
It has a locked on lid, so when you pour, it won't come off and burn you like the old percolators or kettles would do. Also, it has a very sturdy handle so no chance it'll break off and the pot goes falling to the floor. The power switch is great, press it and when done, it shuts itself off. Walk away and no worries about burned pots or damaged kettle.
I was able to make my iced tea using hot water from this kettle. It tastes great, worked well, took only a few minutes to boil a full pot of cold water, and even when I overfilled it, nothing bad happened. So, I'd say this is a winner! Plus this looks great in my kitchen!

This is doing the job well, very effective
on January 8, 2021
Posted by: stevefromtheburbs
from PHILLY SUBURBS
In my extensive use of air purifiers/cleaners, I will say this ranks up there at the top. Clean air is important to me and the only way to get it is with decent equipment. I've had problems with congestion in the bedroom, and I never invested in a more decent machine for use in the bedroom, but now I wish I had done it sooner. After having used this for less than a week, I can tell you I noticed an immediate change. Laying in bed for a couple of hours before meant I woke up fully congested. Now, after using this, that is not happening. Coincidence? I don't think so. I have left the unit on full blast, because it makes a good white noise machine while on the highest level, but also because I wanted to clear out as much bad air as was up there. The unit, in auto mode, works great. But it varies the speed based on pollutants. I prefer the constant white noise, but it can be used manually on whisper quiet, mostly quiet, or not quiet. We prefer to sleep with not quiet mode. And with auto-mode it will adjust up and down as needed.
Anyway, this thing is built like a tank. This is no small machine, and that is a testament to the fact it is a serious machine. A huge fan will be revealed as you remove the plastic wrappers from the filters before its first use. And it contains three double duty filters, each contains a filter material and also what appears to be a carbon/electrostatic filter as well (see pics). The trick to this air cleaner is that it doesn't use true HEPA tightly wound filters, it uses thinner filters with an electrostatic process to trap dirt without having to drag it all through the filter to do it. That is a great thing and whether or not it works with COVID, it does kill bacteria with the electrostatic charge based on what I've read on their website.
What I thought was congestion coming from dust particles, is really coming from different chemical/gas smells. I know that bathroom spray and cleaners will trigger the VOC sensor, but I've gotten triggers for unknown reasons. And while I continue to investigate that, it is worrisome why that keeps happening. Sometimes the really heavy scented laundry soap in the hallway laundry will trigger it too. But the good part is that this kills off the smells quickly. Very quickly.
I know it says the filters will need to be replaced every 6 months and I'm okay with that given the level of cleaning it is doing. It is like any other investment you make, maintenance is going to be required. My other serious air cleaner machines require filter changes too, no difference in the end.
My favorite part of this is that instead of trapping and waiting for bacteria or whatever to die off, the electrostatic charge will kill it off without the chance for it to slip by the filters. Same with dust mites. That to me, makes this worth it over competitive machines. Having filters with this stuff still living on it until it is killed off doesn't make me feel like I'm very well protected which is what a HEPA machine without electrostatic function will do.
If you take your health seriously, consider this as a way to improve the air quality in your home. With so many of us working from home these days and the increased level of dust/dirt/etc. from occupying our homes 24x7 now vs. just 12 hours or so before the pandemic, there is even more need to keep things clean. I've got 2 long haired dogs that produce alot of hair and dander. And I mean alot. This has cleaned up the air in the bedroom to present a healthier night's sleep as well as providing a much better air quality being re-circulated through the home's air return ducts as the heat pump is running. So we are all benefiting from the purified air this is putting out.
This model does provide you with a WIFI enabled device, to keep an eye on the level of contaminants and allows you to see the air quality outside, but also inside too. You can control the unit via the app, and you can also use the schedule mode to schedule the machine to run at a higher level at night for example, or a lower mode at night and a higher mode during the day. Everyone is different. The other thing I've often heard from folks is that the lights are too bright on different machines in their bedrooms, and affects the ability to sleep. The cool thing with this control panel is that a door closes over the control panel to prevent tampering, but also to cover up the lights if they bother you. (NOTE: There is an electronic child lock through the app that lets you lock the control panel in case the little ones want to play with the buttons, the buttons won't function for them if locked)
I'll tell you that with my extensive experience with these types of machines, this should be on your short list of machines to try. I was surprised at how much good this does, and my lack of being congested is more important an indicator than any app, test, rating, or review.

Another great vac from Bissell & they love pets!
on January 5, 2021
Posted by: stevefromtheburbs
from PHILLY SUBURBS
Well, since Bissell loves pets, I love Bissell. Has been this way for a long time. They make affordable vacuums that survive the long haul. Since my pets seriously shed like there is no tomorrow, and since they are both long haired, it would be the same as saying the vacuum is aged by 10x as much as if I didn't have that hair to clean up. The long haired German Shepherd is a more coarse and fluffy type fur while the long haired Chihuahua fur is more fine and flat, both are a challenge to keep up after.
That said, my first tank is shown below. And this was done AFTER I just did a huge vacuum the evening before. So, you can see that even after the big vac job was done there was plenty left over because the dogs were not upstairs that long to leave that much hair anew.
The vacuum has some great features, from the stair tool attachment that is vacuum powered vs. electricity powered, to the dust/crevice attachment, to the lift to remove from the power head, to the multiple filters, and even the ability to remove the wand and do vacuuming without the power head or tank. It's a great value, a great product, a strong motor, easy to clean and dump the tank after each use, and from a name I will always trust, Bissell.
You won't smell the dog hair smell, and I'm supposing this is because of the allergen filtering system. This is worth alot to me being someone who has issues with dust and dander. It says it is HEPA filtration and I believe it as I have not smelled or seen dust flying around.
When going from carpet to bare floors, just turn off the power bar with the switch without changing anything! This is helpful, along with the roller that promises not to get hair all wrapped up around it.
So far it's been awesome!

Great speed, very small footprint, excellent perf!

What I did was to remove my drives that I have installed, and then installed this drive as my only drive, and installed Windows 10 onto this. In this way, all the partitions and such are on this SSD, which was to allow me to really get a feel for the speed increase.
Installation was not difficult, but might be a bit more intimidating to someone who is not familiar with this style of drive. Once installed I loaded Windows 10 onto a thumb, and started the installation.
My performance increase was decent. I found myself realizing that this newer technology is worth the money and worth the time to install, to realize the best performance out of my computer as possible. Why have the best gaming machine and not have the best components available to give you the edge when gaming? You'll see a definite improvement with your gaming, but also I found programs like AutoCAD loading and running much faster. Needless to say, all other programs like web browsers, email, etc. were running faster as well and when I was running intense Excel sheets with multiple worksheets and lots of calculations, they too were improved.
Don't be afraid to venture into this territory, it is worth the marked improvement in overall performance, but also certainly you will see an improvement in gaming and other programs that are intense.

Perfect for taking a peak in on things
By Jahnjays from Chicago
I got this camera for keeping an eye on my parents, they are older and at risk for falling and other issues, this camera has already paid for itself ten times over! Not only does it give you a sense of security, it also gives my parents a peace of mind known that they are not alone and are being watched, unfortunately my father has fallen twice in the time I bought this camera, it allowed me to see him on the floor and I was able to race home to help him up, if it wasn't for the camera who knows how long he would have been laying there. The picture is not perfect but more than good enough, I actually leave it in Night Vision mode and the picture is great, also the microphone is impressively good. You are able to rotate the camera via your smart phone or computer, it's a little slow but over all I have no complaints. Well worth the money, I went out and bought 2 more for the rest of the house, the smart phone app is very easy to use, set up was a little bit of a pain, I'd say 1 hour but again, not bad. Honestly the best thing I have bought in years and I buy a lot.

This is the exact same comment as for another D-link camera. So, which is it really for?

What if a vacuum was so advanced it could sense the type of floor it’s cleaning? BISSELL SurfaceSense Pet vacuum can! Its intelligent SurfaceSense Technology can detect floor types and automatically adjust the brush roll speed to give you optimal cleaning performance on any floor type. It’s also our first vacuum with a Tangle-Free, Multi-Surface Brush Roll which has stiff bristles for cleaning carpet and soft bristles for vacuuming hard floors, so it can pick up everything from fine dust to larger debris across all floor types. SurfaceSense Pet vacuum has a One Touch, Easy Empty dirt tank and a SmartSeal Allergen System that traps fine dust and allergens while you clean. The LED headlights illuminate hidden dirt and debris while the Quick Release Extension Wand and above floor tools work together to clean hard-to-reach spaces, like upholstery and stairs. And this vacuum doesn’t just clean up after pets, it helps save them, too! BISSELL proudly supports BISSELL Pet Foundation and its mission to help save homeless pets. When you buy a BISSELL product, you help save pets. We’re proud to design products that help make pet messes, odors and pet homelessness disappear.

Is this a self-propelled vacuum? Is there a Bissell that is?

Not self propelled but is easy to maneuver because it has such a strong beater bar that kind of pulls it along. Bissell does not make a self propelled model that I am aware of.

How many filters does this have. Are they washable

This has a single cylindrical filter that is not washable. You can however, vacuum the exterior of the filter, to increase longevity of the filter.

Can you disable audio recording for these?

You can turn that feature off, but can also turn on the privacy shield to turn off video and audio by using an actual physical filter. Or you can simply turn off the mic function and nothing will be recorded. You can keep the speaker function, in case you want to say something, but turn off the mic function so your conversations won't be overheard.

Protect your home while away without comprising your privacy when at home. Arlo Essential Indoor Camera captures 1080p video and offers a way to reassure your privacy with an automated privacy shield, controllable through the Arlo App. Receive motion alerts directly to your phone and use 2-way audio to hear and speak to visitors. See at night, with black and white night vision. Connect directly to Wi-Fi for easy setup. Get notifications on your smartphone when your camera spots people or animals, and view recorded video clips directly from your phone, with a trial of included Arlo Secure¹.

How do I look up past recordings on the camera

In the app, you can go to the recorded library of images. If you don't have any, I'd ask if you set up any of the rules to get this to record. If not, you have to set up the things ou want to do and when, to get it to record. This is somewhat easier said than done, but it is better than it used to be. Contact tech support for help if needed.

On the Arlo Essential, can the IR be turned off? I’d like to position it behind glass.

Yes, you simply turn off the "night vision" option in video settings. See the pic below that shows the option and where it is.

In the app, you simply do "add camera" and go through the instructions. Easy peasy. Takes about 30 seconds to add.

This LG CordZero vacuum has everything you want, from Kompressor technology that lets you clean more and empty less, to two rechargeable batteries that deliver up to 120 minutes¹ of uninterrupted cleaning. But why stop there? The Power Mop attachment gives hard floors a perfect finish—without messy buckets or harmful chemicals. Simply fill the reservoir with water, snap on the attachment and go.

Is the charger compatible with 220 V?

It comes with a 110 plug only with no adapters or anything included to make it 220.

Can this vacuum be used on concrete floors?

I'm sure it can be, it can be used on any hard or carpeted surface. It has a unique roller bar that is neither too hard or too soft, and should work just fine.

Would the mop attachment work on the previous CordZero model?

I'm confident they are interchangeable. As long as the connector looks the same, it'll work with it.

Can i use old a9 by attached A9 wet mop unit

I'm sure you can, as long as it is the same connection. The mop unit just swirls the cloth pads around and drips water out so it can be a kind of wet dust mop. It uses the power from the wand to do it. But it does not vacuum up anything, when in this mode.
