Just OK film, going cheap on blu rays
on October 21, 2012

We all know this film was released in the LONG years between Walt’s passing and with "The Jungle Book" & "the Aristocats" being the last real hit films for the studio, "Jungle Book" outshining "Aristocats" by a mile.
Does anyone remember a character in this one, or a scene or song? No. No glass slipper, no spaghetti kiss
You do get the late Vincent Price as a voice talent. Another little kid with a parent issue, seen it, taped it Disney.
And, the "Pinocchio" scene with "Dumbo" thrown in.
The film is OK. The animation looked more like Saturday morning cartoon quality. NOT Disney standards.
I am surprised they have a "Making Of" feature on this. Some of the bigger Disney film blu ray releases have NOT had them, but this one does. So, it does have this but since the film was not a huge hit there is nothing outstanding extra wise here.
And, for the last few years Disney had, key word here is HAD, been heavily promoting blu rays over DVD. DVD releases have not had the features, etc. NOW, Disney is cutting back on blu rays. This year they are now going cheap on these. Blu ray is just a plain blue disc, the DVD is plain jane silver.
Back of case when it give film information here they are promoting "The Princess and the Frog", which is a disappointment & now forgotten & gets mentioned BEFORE THE FILM THAT PUT DISNEY BACK IN MAJOR HIT STATUS 1989's "The Little Mermaid".
So, an OK film. Not a great blu ray release but since NOT a huge Disney hit you would NOT expect it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good movie-BLU RAY PACKAGE DISAPPOINTING
on October 14, 2012

I enjoyed the film. I already reviewed the 1 disc DVD release.
Best regular Disney film since Lilo and Stitch. Music better than it had been in SOME TIME since Enchanted, but you do NOT remember the songs after the fact. Enjoyed the Maximum & Pascal characters.
I said this in my DVD review & people did NOT like it. The flaw with the film is that it took from Snow White, Beauty and the Beast and why we do NOT know The Princess and the Frog. SPOILER ALERT:
The villain falls from the tower, did we NOT see the villain fall to their end in Snow White? The magic flower was in Beauty & the Beast with the Rose. Crowd scene in same film & Hutchback. The good guy starts out being a heal like Princess and the Frog.
Now, I bought the blu ray LOOKING FORWARD TO BETTER EXTRAS. Was I disappointed. I like "making of" specials & did look forward to seeing this one. It is NOT meant for adults, it is directed only for kids. Too short, did NOT show hardly anything. Just done by 2 of the films voice talents talking ONLY to kids NOT to viewers of any age.
We do get more extras on the blu ray than the 1 on the regular DVD, rest not outstanding, just normal stuff.
So, a good movie but taking ideas from previous Disney movies is a flaw. Extras just NOT outstanding, just normal.

Rating for film not package
AND, MISTAKE IN BEST BUY INFORMATION: THIS IS A 3 DISC SET.
A Disney classic.
Who does NOT love this film?
Glad to see it come to blu ray.
Of course the film is only full screen.
Now, the extras. When you read the back of the case it tells you ONLY A PARTIAL LIST of the extras. When I read this list today I was VERY disappointed. Out of the NEW extras only one of interest to me was showing the work at Disney World Fantasyland.
They took the extras from the 2005 DVD release and added them here. So, any adult fans of the film looking for new material you will be disappointed.
Now, t6he new complaint with the recent Disney blu ray releases. THEY ARE GOING CHEAP ON THEM. The last few years when the bigger name Disney films came onto blu ray they have good looking discs with artwork on them. Not here. Blue disc for blu ray, plaint silver for DVD & yellow for digital. Disney being Disney & going cheap.
Good blu ray transfer of the film. Good picture quality.

Fourteen episodes of FOX's highly-popular animated series Family Guy are collected on this release. Among the plotlines that appear are Peter needing a kidney, Brian and Stewie time-traveling, and Chris discovering a new favorite pastime.

Family Guy NOT at it's best, decent package, just

I have been a fan of the show since it's debut in 1999.
The last couple of seasons have been hit and miss. Yet, the show has NOT gotten as bad as "The Simpsons" have in their last few seasons. You can still have some laughs with "Family Guy".
But, yet, the laughs have been fewer in the last couple of seasons.
Course, when the show will NOT release by seasons, but by volumes.
This one starts on a Halloween episode & ON SAME DISC THAT HAS ONLY 5 EPISODES HAS THE CHRISTMAS EPISODE. Meaning how few episodes we get in a season.
"Road to the North Pole" is a longer episode.
We get episodes uncut here so NOT for kids.
The extras are decent. For you "Batman" & Adam West fans you get to see him receive his star of the Walk of Fame.
Poor plastic case. You do NOT get air dates or episodes or explanations of episodes, just the terrible plastic case & you have to remove disc 3 to see list of episodes.
So, decent season, not outstanding. Poor plastic DVD case.

This box set serves up the first four Indiana Jones films, Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Temple of Doom, The Last Crusade, and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, as well as a wealth of behind-the-scenes and making of footage for each of them.

Great films, disappointed in package
on September 21, 2012

This note is for the stores & the release week price. I was 100% disappointed by Best Buy’s price. I have been watching the price online for months before the release 9-18-12 so I was guessing, hoping for around $50.00. Best Buy was $65.00 which is around the price I watched online for months so this was NOT a good deal in my opinion Best Buy
Now, being an Indy fan since day one. I was first in the door opening day for the first three films.
In order, how I rate the films: 1. Raiders, 2. Last Crusade, 3. Temple & 4. Crystal Skull.
So, I was looking forward to this package.
I give the films together the 5 rating. NOW, THE PACKAGE GETS A 3.
I was VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS.
I expected more.
I enjoy extras. They made so many mistakes
I now compare this to the 9 disc "Star Wars saga" set released a year before. NOT perfect either but far better than this, yes a different company. Fox not Paramount.
OK, "making of" special. Raiders has two & the other films have one each. Where was "The Great Movie Stunts" special from CBS Harrison hosted? Where were spoofs? Many of them over the years.
From the previous DVD releases, AFI from 2003 talking to Karen, Kate & Allison. NEVER shown complete, just a few minutes of it so you would expect the whole conversations with the women. But NO we get the same few minutes. Bad, disappointing.
Friends and Enemies section from a previous DVD release, did NOT cover Skull.
Plain jane discs, no ark work just logos. Each film disc extras are trailer. Raiders has three including one reissue, Temple two, Last Crusade two & for a Crystal Skull has three BUT A LABELING ERROR, THESE THREE TRAILERS ARE LABELED AS TWO, THREE & FOUR.
And, chapter breaks. Needed to be better. And, Crystal Skull had far fewer stops & two that SHOULD HAVE FOR SURE HAD CHAPTER STOPS, CATE'S FIRST APPEARANCE & KAREN'S FIRST APPEARANCE. NOPE.
So, glad to have the films on blu ray. And, we know George. They will be re-released on blu ray in a couple of years with better extras.

The set contains every episode from the fifth season of the highly-rated CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory. This run of shows features Penny and Leonard rekindling their relationship, and Sheldon negotiating his own relationship with Amy.

Good but not the best season Normal good extras

As a "Star Wars" & "Indiana Jones" fan I was a late bloomer to the show. Started watching it when the repeats started airing in 2011. My favorite episode is in season 4 what I call "the Raiders" episode.
The 5th season is good, but NOT nearly the best. I consider the 4th season the best.
As a "Star Wars" & "Indiana Jones" fan I want to know why not one actor from any of those films have been on.
2 favorite episodes in season 5: episode 19 "The Weekend Vortex" & 20 "The Transporter Malfunction".
Now, I am going to stick up for "Star Trek" fans here. Episode 5 “The Russian Rocket Reaction’ is another Wil Wheaton episode BUT the blu ray/DVD package does not mention Brent Spiner. And, of course episode 20. Leonard Nimoy has been mentioned in more than one episode in the series, my favorite when Penny gives Sheldon the autographed napkin. So, having him do the voice of the “Spock” action figure was great. BUT, he got NO MENTION in the credits or the blu ray/DVD episode list like Spiner.
I did feel the season finale about the wedding was a let down. You normally get surprises in finales & season openers, so episode 1 of season 6 should be fantastic to make up for the "no surprises" season 5 finale.
Normal, good extras in the packages.
You have 2 blu ray disc & 3 DVD disc in this.
Looking forward to season 6.

Original movie is decent, LACKING BLU RAY PACKAGE
on September 9, 2012

The original film is good, decent Disney fare. You do not mind watching it from time to time, you do not want to watch it again right after because it does not have the "sparkle" of the big Disney hit films.
Why was a sequel made for it? NO CLUE Disney ran out of idea, so they rehashed moderately successful films? I have never seen the sequel & now that I have it in my hands per this package I am NOT going to change my mind about it.
The music fit the film, did NOT stand out as songs you will remember years later.
Now, for this package. The blu ray has BOTH FILMS ON IT If you are a fan & looking for extras-do NOT look at the blu ray disc.
Now, each film has a separate plain, silver DVD disc. The DVD's have better extras than the blu ray? Does this make sense, NO. What were you thinking Disney.
Kids will like the original better than adults in my mind.
Decent original film, UNNECESSARY SEQUEL & POOR DISNEY BLU RAY/DVD PACKAGE
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good movie-where are extras Disney?
on September 9, 2012

I have always liked this film. Was a disappointment when released June 1991 that it did NOT do well at the box office. I remember watching Bill Campbell on "Entertainment Tonight" at a movie theater after it only placed #3 at the box office opening weekend.
Good adventure film. Holds up today. Fun, good special effects that hold up as well. Original story.
NOW, let's go on Disney. This is titled a "20th Anniversary" blu ray package. OK, you would figure there would be some sort of extras on this, even for a film that disappointed at the box office. It was heavily promoted when released, they do not have any "Making of" programs or anything like that? They put extras on DVD’s & blu rays for ’straight to video” Disney releases that do NOT deserve them. But, NOTHING on this film. And, only the 1 disc because of this. CHEAP DISNEY, VERY CHEAP.
Good film good picture, bottom of the barrel for Disney DVD/blu ray releases. Terrible, claiming a "20th anniversary" edition.
Recommended ONLY for film NOT LACK OF PACKAGE.

Good movie, NOT Disney’s best-ONLY FAIR package
on August 22, 2012

In the down years for Disney animation after Walt passed away.
The first film is fine, nothing outstanding about it. Only notable for Bob Newhart voice talent.
There are quite a few extras on the discs, nothing outstanding. No Making of for the first film but you would not need one really for this film since not the top of Disney films.
And, I have always wondered WHY WAS THE SEQUEL MADE? Best part of that unnecessary sequel is having the late John Candy voice talent. It was unnecessary, the first film was not a major hit, so why this sequel?
Now, Disney is now going cheap on blu ray packages. For the last few years they have been bending over backwards to promote blu rays, but here as they did with the Pocahontas package & Aristocats packages we get plain jane discs with no artwork on them.
So, these are good Disney movies, certainly not the best. Only fair package as Disney goes cheap again.

Good movie, NOT Disney's best-ONLY FAIR package
on August 22, 2012

Not the best film Disney made. After Walt's passing this was the next release after 1967’s great "The Jungle Book".
More music work from The Sherman Brothers.
This was I say is more designed for kids only. No outstanding characters. The Marie character for girls. The return of the late Phil Harris as O'Malley does not have the appeal of Baloo.
There are quite a few extras on both discs, nothing outstanding. No Making of but you would not need one really for this film since not the top of Disney films.
Now, Disney is now going cheap on blu ray packages. For the last few years they have been bending over backwards to promote blu rays, but here as they did with the Pocahontas package & Rescuers packages we get plain jane discs with no artwork on them.
So, it is a good Disney movie certainly not the best. Only fair package as Disney goes cheap again.

The Kardashian sisters feel the impact of celebrity in this season, when Khloé must deal with the very public aftermath of her DUI, while Kim and Kourtney contend with sibling rivalry as their professional and personal relationships blur.

Guilty pleasure, MUCH IMPROVED OVER SEASON 2
By CKCSWHFFAN from home
Yes, the show is a guilty pleasure.
Episodes that aired in 2009. 12 episodes this season
Now, THE IMPROVEMENTS. 1. The episodes are wide screen, 2. Disc 1 has deleted scenes & 3. Disc 2 has commentary for episodes. Why not with each episode-no clue about that. But it is MUCH better than the blog from Rob on season 2.
Now, this time out apparently there are ONLY 3 Kardashians in this season. Kourtney, Kim & Khloe are only shown on both sides of the DVD case. BOTH discs have the same photo of them. So, they do NOT give credit to Kris, Bruce, Rob, Kendall & Kylie? Show is called Keeping Up With The Kardashians NOT Keeping Up With The Kardashian Sisters.
1 big mistake done again on this DVD. Same CHEAP, PLASTIC DVD CASE WITH THE INTENTIONAL HOLES IN IT. CHEAP & NOT SAFE. Apparently the DVD makers just want people to buy this over & over again since the DVD are NOT safely secure.
And, a point for anyone. There was MASS CONFUSION ABOUT THE RELEASE DATE OF THIS DVD. It was released 8-17-10. Some stores & websites changed the date until 9-21-10. THIS WAS UNTRUE. I purchased the DVD from a local store 8-18-10. So, make sure IF you want it check with the store. DO NOT GO BY PRINTED MATERIAL
