I still enjoy this film-that means the original 1998 film. Good story, good characters. Love Eddie Murphy as Mushu, before he did Donkey.
Great music, good animation.
I have never seen the sequel. Did NOT see a point to it.
Where I am disappointed with this set: 1. Disney now has gone cheap on blu ray issues. You get NO artwork on the discs, just plain jane discs. 2. Disappointing extras. No "making of”" for the original film. I would have liked to have seen this.
So, to sum up. Still a fan of the original film, sequel NOT necessary. No good extras & cheap blu ray set.
I never bought this film on regular DVD I went ahead & bought this mainly to get the Disney Rewards code
A disappointment at the box office. Does anyone even remember this film?
Disney trying to tell e a story & trying to get a point across. Fine BUT….. In past SUCCESSFUL films, they did this with great characters, music, humor, etc. this film has NONE of that. No good music, does anyone remember any character in this film? The small bear, Koda, NOT even close to Thumper, otherwise called a beloved Disney character.
Then, they made a sequel to a NOT successful film. Why? NO reason for a sequel.
OK, this was released same day as the 2 Mulan films and the 2 Hunchback of Notre Dame films to blu ray. This UNSUCCESSFUL film has a "making of" extra. BUT, successful & a film I really like, Mulan had NONE of this on that set.
A boring, disappointing film. IF you want NO fun & just a story shoving a point down your throat then you will like the film. A true Disney fan will NOT.
2012 a disappointing year for Disney animation. Brave was just ok. So is this one.
You would have figured Disney would have made this enjoyable IF you are older or NOT into video games. They did not.
Unless you are a little kid or a video game fan you will not really care.
Took long enough to get into the point nor important characters.
Now, A HUGE DISLIKE OF THIS AS THEY RECENTLY DID WITH THE FIRST BLU RAY RELEASE TO THE 1953 CLASSIC "PETER PAN". If/when you push pause instead of getting the film to pause you get five second until unnecessary stuff pops up on the screen.
A few years ago Disney gave up on going good jobs on DVD releases & they were ONLY to blu rays. THAT HAS STOPPED
This is a four disc set, the discs are put in only two spots so if you want one at the bottom you have to pull two discs out. NO art work on the discs anymore. Cheap, cheap, cheap & so disappointing Disney.
No special extras on this at all.
So, the film is disappointing unless you are a kid or a video game fan, blu ray/DVD package also a disappointment.
Yes, it took enough time for Disney to release the 1953 classic to blu ray. With the introduction of a beloved Disney character Tinker Bell it should have been released sooner
A very good film. A memorable villain in Captain Hook. Songs we remember.
Good blu ray transfer.
Now, extras on this. The one I liked & wish was longer was done by Frank Thomas's son speaking to other children of "the Nine Old Men" of animation. I wanted more information, more details & questions answered. But, this extra was very good.
Otherwise, normal extras with this.
Now, here is the one thing I truly HATE with this package. On the blu ray disc IF you use pause during the film INSTEAD OF JUST PAUSING THE FILM THEY PUT IN GAMES FOR KIDS????????????? Apparently Disney thinks ONLY KIDS WILL BE WATCHING THIS 60 YEAR OLD FILM? Terrible. To get back to the film INSTEAD OF SIMPLY PUSHING PLAY OR PAUSE AGAIN YOU HAVE TO HIT MULTIPLE BUTTONS TO GET BACK TO THE FILM! Do NOT do this again in the future with anymore releases.
A classic film, except for that STUPID, TERRIBLE PAUSE MISTAKE, a good package.
With a set up like this, why did I buy this film? I purchased it because I am a fan of Russell's.
My only previous viewing of a film like this was Crouching Tiger which was a hit & I liked it 1. IF you hate rap music you will NOT like having to hit the mute button during THE LOAD rap music parts. Terrible 2. Ok, Russell an Oscar winning actor. What was he doing in this mess? A favor to someone? This is beneath him now-needs much better material. It was his first film release in two years & it had to be this mess. 3. Asian actors speaking English to themselves 4. A small spoiler alert-a bad guy wearing SUNGLASSES? Think there were cool in this time frame or something?
The story kept jumping around, hard to follow.
Let’s get to the the blu ray. Has an extra "A Look Inside" which since the film bombed with critics & at the box office So, the blu ray has this extra, but……. IF you watch it do NOT unless you are a fan of this THREE LETTERS director. It is NOT a making of or anything, it is 3 letters talking about him with BARELY any information on film.
Picture quality fine.
Unless you like kung fu films you will NOT like this film even if you are a fan of Russell’s or Lucy Liu's. Otherwise, the only names in the cast.
In my list of Disney/Pixar films I put Nemo near the middle of the lists at number 6.
The last of the Pixar films to come to blu ray. Let us wait & see how many times in the next few years they re-release it.
Good film, funny with a heart. I just do NOT like one of the major characters, Dory. Just do NOT like the character. Nor am I a fan of the voice talent of this character.
Film looks good on the blu ray. I really see no difference from the DVD version of this film. Looks good on both.
I always like extras. Some good extras here, some are repeats from the original DVD version. Being a fan of the theme parks the extra on the making of the redone submarines at Disneyland is good & interesting to watch.
I like the Ice Age films. NOT love them, like them. Between the first and third films I can not say a favorite out of them, I like them equally.
But, I have no problem as saying this 4th film was my least favorite of them.
Why was this film necessary? Reused story lines.
Disappointing.
OK, we see the Peaches character introduced in the 3rd film as a teenager here. Gee, my parents embarrass me, they do not understand me. Can we count how many times in TV shows & movies this storyline has been used?
A boring villain. Making 2 groups to follow did NOT help, Manny, Diego & Sid together with Elle, Crash, Eddie & Peaches.
What was the storyline about from out of no where we have Sid's family? Where did they come from, a storyline please film makers.
There is no need for any more Ice Age films, pretty soon they will be in 1969 with the cast of Men in Black
I remember going to see the original film when released July 1997. I was first in the door. Theater in my home where it open closed years ago.
I really enjoyed the first film. Original, funny with good action/adventure.
Then we get to the second film. I was disappointed . Director Barry Sonnenfeld basically just used Will doing this part he can do in his sleep-the smart mouth. Tommy wasted in the role since it took long enough to bring K back into the film.
Now, we get to this film.
What a major disappointment. After film 2 I was NOT looking forward to this & after seeing it. Just a BIG disappointment.. The chemistry between Tommy & Will in the first film was gone. Could you tell they had been partners for 14 years? NO.
The story line. Hey, have we movie goers NOT seen before characters going back to 1969? NOT ORIGINAL A salute to Austin Powers I guess.
Emma Thompson was wasted here-saw here in only part of the film replacing Rip Torn. They could have done so much more with the character.
I will not spoil end of film here. BUT, I guessed the end a mile before we got to it. Then, it hit a wall & did not give follow up to the story line with K & O.
The main villain-a loud mouth & killer darts from another alien? Please, that was the best they could do?
Then, we go to 1969 & show old technology BUT then bring out those cycles? Excuse me, they also stole from Return of the Jedi?
A bad job all the way around. 2012 the year Tommy had-this was a hit BUT the least successful of the films, Hope Springs & then Lincoln.
Oh, one of thing the film makers/company did. We know DVD's & blu rays are normally released on Tuesdays right? Then, every once in a while a more successful film they do not release until Friday so not to lose money for release week discounts. So, WHY WAS THIS FILM RELEASED TO DVD & BLU RAY ON A FRIDAY? The LEAST SUCCESSFUL OF THE 3 FILMS, FORGOTTEN A WEEK AFTER IT’S RELEASE. That was why I bought it used.
After the 2011 Pixar misfire with "Cars 2" I had expected for Brave to be much better.
Only better by a little Not anywhere near Pixar's USED TO BE great story telling, characters, etc.
You follow the story then you go into this weird story line that true you did NOT see coming BUT just went south from there.
No spoiler alerts although I will say it had to do with Oscar winner Emma Thompson's Queen Elinor.
For a 5 disc set, this SHOULD HAVE BEEN MUCH BETTER. I always look for extras like "Making Of" on Disney/Pixar films. NONE here, there are plenty of extras but none of real interest to me.
They made a new Disney Princess that just stands out because of her appearance, the red hair. If you want to go to a GOOD liberated Disney Princess look at 1992's "Aladdin" for Princess Jasmine.
It is a good film but NOT up to usual Pixar stands. If you want extras on your blu rays you got them but for me just not the type I want.
The Kardashian sisters feel the impact of celebrity in this season, when Khloé must deal with the very public aftermath of her DUI, while Kim and Kourtney contend with sibling rivalry as their professional and personal relationships blur.
Overall4 out of 5
Guilty pleasure, MUCH IMPROVED OVER SEASON 2
ByCKCSWHFFANfromhome
Yes, the show is a guilty pleasure.
Episodes that aired in 2009. 12 episodes this season
Now, THE IMPROVEMENTS. 1. The episodes are wide screen, 2. Disc 1 has deleted scenes & 3. Disc 2 has commentary for episodes. Why not with each episode-no clue about that. But it is MUCH better than the blog from Rob on season 2.
Now, this time out apparently there are ONLY 3 Kardashians in this season. Kourtney, Kim & Khloe are only shown on both sides of the DVD case. BOTH discs have the same photo of them. So, they do NOT give credit to Kris, Bruce, Rob, Kendall & Kylie? Show is called Keeping Up With The Kardashians NOT Keeping Up With The Kardashian Sisters.
1 big mistake done again on this DVD. Same CHEAP, PLASTIC DVD CASE WITH THE INTENTIONAL HOLES IN IT. CHEAP & NOT SAFE. Apparently the DVD makers just want people to buy this over & over again since the DVD are NOT safely secure.
And, a point for anyone. There was MASS CONFUSION ABOUT THE RELEASE DATE OF THIS DVD. It was released 8-17-10. Some stores & websites changed the date until 9-21-10. THIS WAS UNTRUE. I purchased the DVD from a local store 8-18-10. So, make sure IF you want it check with the store. DO NOT GO BY PRINTED MATERIAL
