My favorite Disney soundtrack
on November 8, 2013

Yes, this film has my favorite Disney soundtrack.
Why? Has my favorite Disney song "I Wanna be Like You" written by the Sherman Brothers & sung by Louis Prima.
Course the song people most remember is the Oscar nominated "The Bare Necessities" which is another Disney classic.
Other tracks like "Trust in Me" and "Colonel Hathi's March (The Elephant Song)" are of note & memorable.
As stated, my favorite Disney soundtrack.

Looking forward to…DISAPPOINTED

The original 2001 "Monsters Inc" is my favorite Disney/Pixar film to date. It would have won the best Animated Film Oscar if it was NOT for "Shrek".
When I learned they were making this film I was looking forward to it.
Man, what a disappointment .
I can go with the storyline for a prequel. Would have rather have seen a continuing story of what happened after they opened the new company with laughs.
I do not have a problem with the story where is question is where are the laughs?
I laughed only a few times in this film. Besides Mike & Sulley we see Randall & a for a brief bit at the end of the film the Abominable Snowman briefly from the first film. Otherwise, they were just throwing new monsters at us with only 2 making it into/from the first film. Too much.
Positive, the color on the blu ray is great.
Extras, nothing special.
Something I thought was strange in this package, a 3D disc, 2 blu rays & 1 DVD. The DVD was where the blu ray with extras SHOULD have been.
If you are a fan you can buy this but do not be surprised this film does NOT have the fun & magic of the first film.

Holds up over the years-so so blu ray package
on October 26, 2013

After 30 years the film holds up.
Sure, the technology in it is dated now but when you get past that little detail you still love the film.
Funny. Walt Disney look a likes, the late John Candy.
Of ALL the films it is this one & the third film that made a franchise.
All star cast.
So, they released the film onto blu ray for the 30th anniversary. If you are a true Vacation fan you will be disappointed by the extras. The commentary used on a previous DVD release and all they added was the "Inside Story" shown on the Biography Channel. So, why not something new from the cast and crew.
If you are a fan you will still love the film here but you will be disappointed by the extras.
And, the design of the package is different than the stock photo here.

Great film needed better extras & cheap discs
on October 12, 2013

The 1989 classic that got Disney animation back on it's feet.
Love Sebastian & Ursula is one of my favorite villains.
The Oscar winning music.
Now, let me pick apart this 3 disc set.
Only the 3D disc has art work on it. They started this last year-cheap discs with no artwork from the film. Cheap.
And, the recent thing they input when you use pause instead of the film just pausing things are going on. Kind of defeats the purpose of "pause" right?
Only new extras of interest to me was the part with Jodi Benson (Ariel) at Disney World. There was NO new making of segments, just old segments from previous releases of the film. But, yet the unnecessary tradition of having some current musical artist redo one song from the Oscar winning soundtrack. NEVER have watched or listened to those on any Disney DVD or blu ray release.
A great film that stands up the test of time as a Disney classic. Just remember the little things wrong with the 3 disc set I mention above.

Insignia™ NS-19E310A13 LED HDTV: This small but capable Insignia HDTV comes with 720p resolution and LED backlighting for a crisp, high-definition picture. It is a good addition to a small bedroom or dorm room.

Internet Connectable?No
We purchased this before we moved & got satellite TV.
It is difficult to work with the satellite TV & the company we get the TV from. Had to have them out week after installed because it would NOT work with this TV.
Now, the picture quality is good. Getting used to HD TV picture from an old console TV.
Sound is NOT very good. Have to really turn it up to hear it correctly.
I am a movie person-I want excellent sound & picture.
And, having blu ray & VCR’s NEEDS MORE CONNECTIONS!!
I am NOT going to say the name of our satellite TV company to promote them here, but BE CAREFUL WITH satellite TV & THIS MODEL. THEY MAY HAVE TO COME OUT MORE THAN ONCE TO GET THEIR SYSTEM TO WORK WITH TV.

Love the film terrible package
on August 18, 2013

I still love the film.
My favorite scenes: 1. Animal growing large in the lab & 2. Kermit on the bicycle
Has not lost its charm over the years. Wish all of the Muppet films were as good as the original.
Now, here is what is wrong with this package. 1. Where is the DVD? Disney did NOT include a DVD, just the blu ray. Cheap, & do NOT care about fans. 2. Where are the extras? No Making Of specials, just nothing to care about. Yet, in another recent blu ray release Disney's "Oliver and Company" which was not successful had a DVD & a Making Of special.
If you are a Muppet fan you will buy this but be prepared to be very disappointed with Disney being cheap without a DVD combo pack & no good extras.

Good film, great music HORRIBLE BLU RAY PACKAGE ra
on June 14, 2013

I was VERY SURPRISED after I finally got this.
As a Disney fan I like the film, a rare Disney without Pixar hit from last decade. Gave us the character Stitch, popular although some people do not like the character.
Best music of any recent Disney film. And, gee do we wonder why? Elvis Presley!! There have been no real hit soundtracks to Disney films since the 1990's. They had to use Elvis to get this. And, having Stitch dressing as 1970's Elvis in the film
The sequel is of no interest to me. Just another in a long line of straight to video sequels Disney has done.
Why I am SO DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS PACKAGE.
WHERE ARE THE EXTRAS? My word. A hit Disney film and this package has NO extras for the original film. If you look at the back of the case it does NOT even give you the information the film is wide screen. Bomb Disney films from the 2000's like 2003's "Brother Bear" and 2004's "Home on the Range" their blu ray packages have extras. Where are the extras for an actual hit film?
I am so disappointed in this. If you like the movie get this-my rating is for the film NOT the package. The package would only get a 1.

Tired, boring, NOT up to Disney standards
on June 2, 2013

This film I NEVER even bought on regular DVD, just like 2003's "Brother Bear". Film was released in a slow period for regular Disney animation, between 1999's "Tarzan" and "Tangled" the only hit the NON Pixar films they had was 2002's "Lilo and Stitch'.
Does anyone even remember this film? I do not think so.
Saturday morning TV animation, way below Disney standards.
Story, boring, who cares. Roseanne several years after her show went off the air is the main voice talent in this one.
The music, nothing special. This coming from Oscar winner Alan Menken. We get the country music stuff but he still put in a bit of rock music when Roseanne's characters goes to this farm. Made no sense with all the other country music stuff in this.
Now, one thing I like on blu rays & DVDs are extras. I have had this complaint before-this movie that bombed at the box office and no one remembers has better extras than the August 2012 blu ray release of the 1995 Oscar winning Disney classic "Pocahontas".
Don’t bother on this one unless your kids MUST have it or, like me, your just trying to make your Disney collection more complete.

Story did not make sense, not worthy of cast
on May 5, 2013

The only reason I purchased this movie is because I am a fan of Russell's.
He gets second billing behind Wahlberg’s. Oscar winner behind non award winner. Catherine, who I like, another Oscar winner did NOT have her name above title. But Wahlberg with no award wins? I do not care if he produced, show correct credit in films.
I will say this plus to the blu ray/DVD combo. At least the blu ray had some extras. I was not expecting that since the film was not successful at the box office or with critics.
You could not follow the story. Yes, surprises BUT they have to make sense.
Did we really need to follow Wahlberg’s personal life with the girlfriend/wife, whoever she was. Made no sense and was unnecessary.
I found myself fast forwarding over the scenes without Russell and or Catherine. I just did not care.
They did do a good job with their roles, not surprising.
Unless you are a fan of the cast just bypass this film. Makes no sense.

Original only ok, sequel unnecessary
on March 24, 2013

I remember back when Pocahontas was released I was not looking forward to it but when I saw it I thought it was great.
So, the year after when the original film was released I was hoping for the same. I was disappointed.
The film is just OK. Nothing special. When the film starts you think you are looking at Beauty and the Beast. No. The music is a disappointment. No characters you remember after the fact. Although they did you some names for characters voice, Jason Alexander at the height of Seinfeld fame, Moore, Oscar winner Kevin Kline. No memorable scenes. You do not remember the film after you just saw it.
I remember at Disneyland that summer they had a show for the film. Never saw it.
Animation is fine but not usual at this point Disney standards. To me it looks like Saturday morning animation.
They have a making of extra. For this one & Brother Bear released at the same day as the Mulan blu ray. Mulan, a bigger hit, did NOT get one.
A sequel. NOT needed for this film at all.
And, Disney now going cheap on blu ray releases. NO art work on the discs.
The original film is just fine, nothing more to say about it. The sequel unnecessary & a cheap blu ray package.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The Kardashian sisters feel the impact of celebrity in this season, when Khloé must deal with the very public aftermath of her DUI, while Kim and Kourtney contend with sibling rivalry as their professional and personal relationships blur.

Guilty pleasure, MUCH IMPROVED OVER SEASON 2
By CKCSWHFFAN from home
Yes, the show is a guilty pleasure.
Episodes that aired in 2009. 12 episodes this season
Now, THE IMPROVEMENTS. 1. The episodes are wide screen, 2. Disc 1 has deleted scenes & 3. Disc 2 has commentary for episodes. Why not with each episode-no clue about that. But it is MUCH better than the blog from Rob on season 2.
Now, this time out apparently there are ONLY 3 Kardashians in this season. Kourtney, Kim & Khloe are only shown on both sides of the DVD case. BOTH discs have the same photo of them. So, they do NOT give credit to Kris, Bruce, Rob, Kendall & Kylie? Show is called Keeping Up With The Kardashians NOT Keeping Up With The Kardashian Sisters.
1 big mistake done again on this DVD. Same CHEAP, PLASTIC DVD CASE WITH THE INTENTIONAL HOLES IN IT. CHEAP & NOT SAFE. Apparently the DVD makers just want people to buy this over & over again since the DVD are NOT safely secure.
And, a point for anyone. There was MASS CONFUSION ABOUT THE RELEASE DATE OF THIS DVD. It was released 8-17-10. Some stores & websites changed the date until 9-21-10. THIS WAS UNTRUE. I purchased the DVD from a local store 8-18-10. So, make sure IF you want it check with the store. DO NOT GO BY PRINTED MATERIAL
