Saturday Night live: The Best of Dan Aykroyd offers a helping of sketches featuring the man who, alongside creative partner John Belushi, would skyrocket to fame in the early years of Saturday Night Live. The release contains memorable skits like The Bass-o-Matic, and such popular characters as Irwin Mainway and E. Buzz Miller.
I knew when I purchased this you would see some classic sketches with Dan. This one has 2 Conehead famous bits.
But, IF you own anymore of the Best of SNL DVD's IF you have the Steve Martin one then you already have the Conehead bit with Steve from the IRS and the same “Wild and Crazy Guys” bit.
The classic "Fred Garvin" bit is here. Always thought & still do Margot Kidder (flash in the pan from Superman) her timing was completely off in this bit. Julia Child is here.
The bit with the superheroes from the same episode with Bill as Superman is here. They could Have put this bit on the Best of Belshui DVD, his role is more funny than Dan as The Flash.
We only get 1 bit with Jane at the Weekend Update desk, could have used more of these & only 1 of The Blues Brothers.
Good, decent DVD. Should have been outstanding, but missing bits make it good NOT great.
Good movie SHOULD have done better at the box offi

I was VERY DISAPPOINTED this film did NOT do well at the box office. Mistake of the studio, released in the USA same day as a Harry Potter movie.
I enjoyed the movie. Russell did his usual great job. Good to see Liam IF ONLY FOR 1 SCENE.
Yes, you have to buy the plot of a movie that a school teacher is going to get training & skills to break his wife out of jail, etc.
There are plot holes. FILM MAKERS, I DID NOT NEED THE THROW UP SCENE. Could have cut away.
Russell did a song in it.
I had NOT seen Brian Dennehy in ages. Been 20 years since "Presumed Innocent". And, you have to know your stuff. Trudie Styler Sting's wife is in here briefly.
A bit long. The ending drug out.
I will not input big spoilers here.
For a DVD, glad to see some extras on it.
Now, complaints on DVD package. One with the card board slip covers. AND, THIS ONE HAS TWO HOLES IN IT, FOR PRICE …….. STUPID MAKES NO SENSE. AND, I KEEP COMPLAINING ABOUT THESE, THE PLASTIC CASES WITH THE INTENTIONAL HOLES IN THEM SO YOUR DVD CAN BE DAMAGED.
If you are a fan of Russell’s you will enjoy the film.
I have been a fan & collector of Harrison's for over 30 years now. I USED to be first in the door opening day for his films.
When I heard about this film & he was doing it I looked for to it. Thought he would do a great job & when they added Diane to the fix I knew that would be perfect.
They did do great jobs with their roles.
Let's go with the mistakes: Harrison had 2 films come out in 2010, this one and "Extraordinary Measures". BOTH FILMS HE WAS 2CD CREDITED INSTEAD OF FIRST. Here Oscar winner Diane was 3rd. Instead the film makers push Rachel McAdam’s as top billed. WRONG. The film was based on her INSTEAD OF AN EQUAL MIX WITH HER CHARACTER AND THE SHOW. Right from the beginning of the film her character was pushed down viewers throats. Did we really need to see a bit on her getting an apartment? Hands up for anyone who cared……
She can NOT put movie goers into theater seats. I have ONLY seen one of her prior films "State of Play" and I saw it because I am a fan of Russell’s. Yep, they used Harrison mostly to promote the film. OF COURSE HAN SOLO, INDIANA JONES, JOHN BOOK OSCAR NOMINATION WITH THAT, RICHARD KIMBLE, JACK RYAN, ETC & SO ON. Diane with her long award winning career & they used McAdam’s character to base the movie around.
I have nothing against Rachel BUT wrong film makers. USE THE STARS.
Film SHOULD have been a success & it was one of the mistakes that made it fail.
The music in the film was terrible. The "love story" was 100% unnecessary and did nothing but fill time.
Disappointing, SHOULD have been much better.
DVD. No good extras really & MY COMPLAINT I MAKE ALL THE TIME. HAS ONE OF THESE CHEAP DVD CASES WITH THE INTENTIONAL HOLES. CHEAP, CHEAP & CAN DAMAGE YOUR DVD. No chapter search list.
This collection of funnyman Chris Farley's greatest hits from his years on Saturday Night Live gets a solid presentation for its release on DVD. Saturday Night Live: The Best of Chris Farley has been transferred to disc in its original full-frame aspect ratio of 1.33:1 and the audio has been mastered in Dolby Digital Stereo. No multiple language options have been included, though the clips are closed-captioned in English. Bonus materials include photo galleries, outtakes, unseen dress rehearsal footage, and more.
Saturday Night live: The Best of John Belushi collects many of the funniest and most memorable moments the actor had while on the groundbreaking NBC late-night comedy series. Included are such beloved characters as The Blues Brothers, the Killer Bees, and the samurai - the character Belushi used when he originally auditioned for the program (a character he more or less created on the spot while waiting for his audition to start).

I’ve been a fan of Al's since I heard "Another One Rides the Bus"
A good, cheaper greatest hits set. The boxed Permanent Record is better even though his newer songs will not be on it.
My favorites "Yoda", "The Saga Begins" & "Jurassic Park" are here. Yes, an over 30 year "Star Wars" fan & collector here.
This set is missing some songs I would have liked to see on it. "Addicted to Spuds", "Money For Nothing" a personal favorite, my favorite part of his 1989 film "UHF" "Gandhi II".
It is a good CD set with newer songs as said above, but get "Permanent Record" the four disc set. It is better with more older material.

The 5th season of A&E's popular reality show follows rock legend Gene Simmons and the Simmons-Tweed family as they go about living their decidedly unconventional lives.
Now, I am NOT a huge Kiss fan. I do like the group & some of their music. Let me say that right out of the gate.
I did start watching this show on A & E. I enjoy it.
I like the family. Nick & Sophie are refreshing as they are NOT into bad things after learning from their Dad that because you are in rock and roll that the drugs and alcohol do NOT need to be a part of that.
I still say A LOT of these situations are staged just for the cameras. Best episode ‘The Demon Turns 60". For Kiss fans, the ONLY episode with Paul Stanley.
Shows are wide screen that is good.
No real good extras, just additional footage.
And, the DVD makers, A & E or Gene or all of the above so to speak should be ashamed of themselves for releasing both the 4th & 5th season on the same day and to make it worse 12-21-10. I could NOT find the DVD’s in stores, had to order online.
YES, WENT TO BOTH THE LOCAL BEST BUYS STORES AND NO DVD’S. BUT, YOU WOULD EXPECT THIS FROM BEST BUY. DISAPPOINTING BUT NORMAL FOR BEST BUY, LETTING CUSTOMERS DOWN.
If you are a fan you will enjoy the DVD package. But, like mentioned above, NO good extras.
Woody Allen once again stars and directs a great ensemble cast (including Michael Caine and Barbara Hershey) in 1986's Hannah and Her Sisters. MGM has done a nice job on this 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer, making sure that the colors are balanced and deep with black levels looking sharp. Edge enhancement is not present during the film, though there is a slight amount of dirt in a few key scenes. The audio is presented in Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono and is sufficient for the film it supports. Depth and fidelity are sorely lacking on this track, but otherwise the effects, dialogue, and music are all clear of any hiss or distortion. Also included on this disc are English, French, and Spanish subtitles, as well as Dolby 2.0 Mono tracks in both French and Spanish. Not unlike all the other Woody Allen discs released by MGM, Hannah and Her Sisters sports only a theatrical trailer as its sole extra feature. Overall, this edition of Hannah and Her Sisters is good, though certainly not great.
This is the ONLY film of his I have ever seen. Keeping in mind a "Star Wars" fan & collector has NOT gotten over “Annie Hall” beating "A New Hope Episode 4" at the 1978 "Academy Awards".
Saw this in the 1980’s because I am a fan of Carrie's.
It is a good film. Oscar winner.
It is NOT the best film ever made, but it is interesting.
NO extras but a trailer. Booklet inside is NOT good, just about Woody NOTHING about the other actors even after 2 of them won Oscars for the film.
Just good to see the film wide screen.
Once you get past Woody's Mickey characters just ignore that one & follow the stories of the other characters.
The Kardashian sisters feel the impact of celebrity in this season, when Khloé must deal with the very public aftermath of her DUI, while Kim and Kourtney contend with sibling rivalry as their professional and personal relationships blur.
Overall4 out of 5
Guilty pleasure, MUCH IMPROVED OVER SEASON 2
ByCKCSWHFFANfromhome
Yes, the show is a guilty pleasure.
Episodes that aired in 2009. 12 episodes this season
Now, THE IMPROVEMENTS. 1. The episodes are wide screen, 2. Disc 1 has deleted scenes & 3. Disc 2 has commentary for episodes. Why not with each episode-no clue about that. But it is MUCH better than the blog from Rob on season 2.
Now, this time out apparently there are ONLY 3 Kardashians in this season. Kourtney, Kim & Khloe are only shown on both sides of the DVD case. BOTH discs have the same photo of them. So, they do NOT give credit to Kris, Bruce, Rob, Kendall & Kylie? Show is called Keeping Up With The Kardashians NOT Keeping Up With The Kardashian Sisters.
1 big mistake done again on this DVD. Same CHEAP, PLASTIC DVD CASE WITH THE INTENTIONAL HOLES IN IT. CHEAP & NOT SAFE. Apparently the DVD makers just want people to buy this over & over again since the DVD are NOT safely secure.
And, a point for anyone. There was MASS CONFUSION ABOUT THE RELEASE DATE OF THIS DVD. It was released 8-17-10. Some stores & websites changed the date until 9-21-10. THIS WAS UNTRUE. I purchased the DVD from a local store 8-18-10. So, make sure IF you want it check with the store. DO NOT GO BY PRINTED MATERIAL
