Outstanding, personalized sound quality.

Outstanding ANC earbuds by Soundcore, which is an Anker brand. I was kind of surprised to see them put out a set of ANC earbuds at this price point, but they more than live up to their reputation for quality, performance, and value. In fact, the Liberty 3 Pro feels like a significant step forward for an Anker product and I’m excited if it's a sign of what’s to come. Not only do these earbuds sound great, but you can run a diagnostic with HearID to tune the sound to your hearing and it sounds amazing. Not only does this make music sound better, but it helps prevent people from turning the volume too high because they can’t hear “everything”. This results in fine, detailed, and balanced music without having to blast your ears, which in turn prevents hearing loss. It’s a win-win, and a feature I hope to see from more headphone manufacturers. Talking about saving your ears…
The Active Noise Reduction does a great job with a proper seal. It’s customizable through the Soundcore app, which lets you choose between an Adaptive or Manual mode, with tests to tune the ANC based on the earbud seal and current environment. It works well cutting out noise in most situations, though I had some issues while mowing the lawn. I had the ANC in Adaptive mode and at times it would frequently jump between more aggressive and lighter noise reduction. I think this is because the earbuds started shifting around, which loosened the ear seal and caused the ANC to constantly adapt to a new noise level. It’s the only time I had any kind of issue with the ANC, but I think switching it to manual mode will fix it. On the other hand, I’m very happy to report that the Transparency ANC mode, which lets environmental sounds pass through without having to remove your headphones, works very well. There’s a good amount of clarity and range of sound that passes through, and the vocal focus mode really helps in hearing people more clearly. I’m usually upset when I have to download another app to go with my headphones, but with the amount of tuning and personalization features available in the Soundcore app, I’m more than happy to have it.
In terms of build quality, it's typical high quality Anker. No fuss with that here, but I’m pretty impressed by the design. The earbuds themselves are relatively low profile with looks that belong in the lux segment. I absolutely love the case, which easily fits in any pocket and looks slick with a door that slides open. What’s even more slick is that it’s wireless charging compatible, making it super convenient. I know it sounds lazy, but if you have a wireless charger, you feel me.
I highly recommend the Liberty Pro 3 if you’re looking for a high quality set of ANC earbuds. They sound outstanding with crisp highs, detailed vocals, tight mids, and respectable lows. Fitment is key, but that’s why they come with 4 sizes of ear cushions and wing tips to accommodate most ears. The HearID sound calibration and tuning options in the Soundcore app are worthwhile and make these a very strong performer. Highly recommended!

Excellent Nest Cam Fast Charging Station

An excellent charging station for Google Nest Cam battery models! It can charge up to 2 Nest Cams at once, barely takes up much desk space, and provides a good looking and tidy charging solution if you like to keep your Nest Cams truly wireless. It really can’t be more simple to use and there isn’t even an off/off switch. Just place your camera on it when you need it to charge, and pick it right up when you’re done, talk about plug and play! From a 10% charge, it only took about 2.5-3 hours to get my camera back to 100%. The build quality is excellent and matches the Nest cams perfectly. The only thing I was disappointed with is that it doesn’t allow the cameras to stay on and live feed while charging. Not that big a deal, because the charging station isn’t going to be anywhere that I usually keep it mounted anyway. It likely helps it charge much faster this way as well. If you like to keep your Nest cam truly wireless, this is an excellent charging solution to limit the downtime. Especially if you’re building up a little fleet of wireless Nest cams that you need to keep charged. Good job Wassterstein!

A quiet water flosser!!!

If you’re looking for a quiet power flosser, look no further! The Philips Sonicare Power Flosser 3000 is so quiet, no one knew I was using it, which is absolutely remarkable for anyone that’s ever used a power flosser. If you have one, or even live with someone that does, you know full well how they can sound like a mini diesel truck in the bathroom. It didn’t matter what brand or how much you spent, they were all obnoxiously loud, and it felt really weird that in this day and age of tech, no one made a quiet version. It’s the #1 complaint of all power flossers, and it’s funny to me that Sonicare created one, yet doesn’t even talk about how quiet it is in their marketing. It should be the total focus, because no one else offers anything close to this quiet. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not totally silent, but it’s quieter than a loud bathroom fan, which is a huge upgrade for the category in general. No more being embarrassed of using it when guests are over, or thinking it’s too late and not wanting to wake anyone up. And best of all, it’s compact, the water tank comes with a lid, and it flosses great!
Designwise, it’s compact and about the size of 2 beer bottles side by side. It doesn’t take up much counter space at all, so there’s still room on your vanity. The tank is good for about one flossing session, which is all you really need. There’s a dial to adjust water pressure, a button to change between clean and deep clean modes, a pause switch on the flosser handle, and of course a power button on the base. I like how the deep clean mode has 3 distinct pulses that helps you time out when to switch between teeth. It reminds me of the haptic feedback electric toothbrushes give when telling you to move to the next area, which leaves your brain free to ponder whatever else is happening in your life. It also comes with 2 nozzles, a direct and a multi-angled one, to switch between a single strong jet stream that’s great for getting between the gums, or the 4 angled one that’s good for rinsing and essentially pressure washing your teeth.
Internal cleaning and maintenance is interesting as it’s more like cleaning a humidifier than having to disassemble and rebuild the handle like other flossers. You simply use a mix of vinegar and water to flush out the system, but I guess only time will tell how thorough this is vs a complete disassembly. However, I do know it’s much easier to do and therefore might actually get cleaned more often. The only one thing I wish this and other power flossers came with is a cap to cover the flosser nozzles when not in use. I keep a cap on all my toothbrushes for sanitary reasons and I don’t see why the same shouldn’t apply here.
Overall, the Sonicare Power Flosser 3000 is absolutely remarkable for being the quietest power flosser I’ve ever seen, and by a large margin. No more sounding like a freight train is running through the bathroom! Outside of that, it’s well built and very similar to most other conventional power flossers out there. If you currently have a power flosser, or are in the market for one, I highly, highly, highly recommend the Sonicare Power Flosser 3000. Nothing else comes close to being this quiet, which is a total game changer for the category. Great job Philips!

Excellent sound quality and best ANC Hear Through!

The Jabra Elite 7 Active in-ear headphones are a welcome addition to their lineup and feature a new ShakeGrip coating that helps the headphones stay in your ear without the need of some kind of wing or whatever protrusion to prevent them from falling out while you’re running around. This is the biggest issue I had with their older “active” models that sounded fantastic, but heavily relied on using a tight cushion fit to stay in place. The ShakeGrip coating solves that problem with a subtle coating that somehow comfortably grips your inner ears. I don’t know if it’s a change in the tip or body material, but it works great at keeping the ear bud in place without needing to change the low profile shape that Jabra’s traditionally come in. I can actually run and be aggressive in these, and it even passes my headbanging head shake test! Big ups to Jabra for recognizing and fixing an issue while keeping it low profile.
Soundwise, you still get the great Jabra sound, but you’ll need to manipulate it with the EQ as it’s flat out of the box. I was actually a bit disappointed when I first put them on, but after adjusting the EQ and using the Jabra tuning program in their app, I got it to offer that excellent “Jabra sound” that I’ve become accustomed to. It doesn’t sound as “natural” as the 75t Active, but it’s not far off, providing clean vocals with good bass response. What sets the Jabra headphones apart though is their Sound+ app, which is the most useful app I’ve ever experienced from a headphone company.
The Sound+ app lets you adjust and save EQ settings, adjust the “hear through” and “noise cancelling” mix, custom program device controls, and even includes sound frequency tests to tailor the sound specifically to your ears. This not only helps prevent hearing loss, but also provides a superior audio experience as well. Jabra’s “hear through” mode is notably the best I’ve heard of any other brand. It does a great job of passing through most sounds and actually lets you listen to things around you without being totally drowned out by the music mix. It’s how ANC “hear through” or “pass through” modes should work, but Jabra seems to do it better than most.
Not everything is an improvement though, but at least one is fixable with a firmware update. I prefer the other case design where the door is higher up and easier to flip open than this one which is right down the middle. Sometimes I have trouble opening the door unless I really grip it, vs the other design where I can flip it open with one finger. It’s a small thing and not at all a deal breaker, just something I immediately noticed. The other thing, which a software update can fix, is that when playing media and switching between noise cancelling modes, the sound cuts out and offers some static for about 1 second before coming back on. This only happens while media is playing and isn’t a big problem, but it’s something that doesn’t happen with other Jabra ANC headphones I’ve used and I hope it gets fixed here.
Overall, the Jabra Elite 7 Active are excellent in-ear headphones and a solid choice if you like Jabra ear buds that will actually stay in your ear. The ShakeGrip technology works and you get that outstanding Jabra sound quality and “hear through” mode. Much like the 75t Active model, these are the most practical headphones I’ve used and confidently staying in my ears makes the Elite 7 Active even better in that regard. With 8 hours of charge time, 30 hours of recharge in the case, IP57 water rating, a useful app, and a fantastic microphone for phone calls, I highly recommend these earbuds.

Practical and easy to use single serve blender.

The Ninja Nutri-Blender Plus is an excellent single serve blender that’s quick, practical, and very easy to use. I’ve always wanted one of these, because while I love my full size blenders, most of the time I’m just making something small and don’t need the large container, nor want to clean it. With these, you blend right in the cup you’re going to use and switch out the blending cap when you’re doing. It cuts down on containers that need to be cleaned, saves counter space space, and works great for quick smoothies, milk shakes, and even hot sauce or salsa. And it’s so easy to use, even the most tech challenged person in your life should be able to use it.
There’s no buttons or much of anything to figure out, really. Just put your ingredients in the To-Go cup, put the blender cap on it, line up the 3 nubs on the blender cap with the machine and press the cup down. The three nubs prevent the To-Go cups from being installed incorrectly, and it blends quite confidently. Frozen fruits with ice didn’t give it an issue, and blending some homemade salsa to homogenize it came out fantastic. And maybe best of all, the blender blade cap, and drink caps are all dishwasher safe, so cleaning up is a breeze.
If you’re in the market for an easy to use single serve blender, or wish there was an easier way to make milkshakes and smoothies at home, definitely give the Ninja Nutri-Blender Plus a look.

Super fast hard drive and includes Battlefield!

Awesome hard drive that should benefit anyone not currently using an NVME type. It's not the fastest in the category, especially for PCIe gen 4, but it'll still blow away the best SSD and platter drives. I have mine installed as a secondary hard drive with a cheap m.2 NVME PCIe adapter card and it works beautifully. I can transfer really large files in an instant, which cuts down a lot on processing and loading times. The Battlefield tie-in is interesting marketing, but don't be fooled, it's an excellent hard drive for more than just gaming. If you're planning on buying Battlefield 2042 and want to give your PC an easy speed upgrade, this is a pretty solid deal. Highly recommended!

Amazing coffee in under 2 minutes.

I absolutely love this machine. It’s not perfect, some bits could be better, but it makes a great tasting cup of coffee in about 2 minutes. The temperature is perfect too. Not too hot that I need to temper it, but just right where I can enjoy it immediately. This has changed my whole morning routine, because I can actually drink it before work instead of needing to wait for it to cool down, which usually doesn’t even happen until I’m at work. I get my caffeine fix a full hour earlier than usual and it even tastes better! It has a hidden compartment to load whole coffee beans and it freshly grinds them before every brew. Every brew! And it doesn’t even have filters to replace. The used coffee grinds drop into a hidden lower compartment that you simply pull out and dump. I also like that there’s a reminder to empty the bin, but it’s big enough to handle about 8 or so brews before needing to empty it. I feel like “practical” was a key design philosophy, because not only does it quickly brew an excellent espresso and americano, it also doesn’t take up too much space.
At about the size of… two ps4’s standing side by side, it easily fits on the kitchen counter without taking up too much space. It has a lovely modern matte black finish with an adjustable copper spout. Unfortunately, while the hot water spout/frother works great, for some reason mine rests at a slight angle even when it’s in the straight down position. Not a big deal, but I expect better from a product in the luxury segment. You can use the Smart HQ app to connect to the machine and make small adjustments to the brew volumes, grind times, and program “my cup”, but it offers very few adjustments. I really like the “red eye” brew program, but it won’t let me adjust it at all. I also couldn’t get it to connect with Google Home for some reason. I hope the app gets an update and enables you to do more, but until then, you really don’t need to revisit it after programming your “my cup” recipe. Fortunately, using the machine itself is as simple as pressing a button and listening to it grind and burr away. A most excellent cup of coffee will be ready before you are. I highly, highly recommend the Cafe Affetto Espresso machine!

A truly wireless indoor/outdoor HD security camera

The new Google Nest security camera is a truly wireless Wifi camera with excellent HD picture quality in day or night. I’ve had the original wired version installed as a front door cam for years and am pretty excited to add a 2nd camera to the ecosystem. It has a few upgrades over the older version, such as a rechargeable long-life battery, better broadcast sound, and some pretty fancy features like people, animal, vehicle, motion, and even familiar face detection. You can adjust how sensitive the motion sensing is, and of course you can create zones for it to focus on or ignore. I use mine as an auxiliary camera that I move around the house depending on the need. It comes with a magnetic wall mount that’s very sturdy and holds the camera solid. I set that up high over the garage to look over the driveway, but I love that I can just pull the camera off the magnetic base and move it to another base mounted in the backyard. There’s even a stand option so you can put the camera on a table top or shelf. Indoors, the battery life is spectacular. It only captures footage of events, so the camera saves energy on not recording everything and can supposedly go almost a whole year on a single charge. I doubt that, but it really depends on how frequently the camera detects an event and turns on. I’m sure cold weather plays a part too (batteries in general hate cold), but it’s been about a week and I’m still at 93% battery life, which is outstanding. If I have to recharge it every month or 2, fine… it’s really not that hard or inconvenient. Plus, there’s an optional 30’ power cable available that enables you to plug it in and never have to worry about charging it again. The only thing I don’t like is that it doesn’t work with the Nest app, which I prefer for camera viewing over the Google Home app. It’s a small detail, but I guess I’m more worried if that means they’re going to stop supporting the Nest app. On the bright side, it integrates well with Google Home, which is handy because I have a bunch of peripherals that already use it. One other major upgrade over the original is that it comes with 3 hours of free event activity videos. Meaning… it’ll let you access footage within the past 3 hours for free, no subscription needed. Which is awesome, because the original came with none. Get the subscription though, and the whole Nest ecosystem is fantastic, with up to 10 days of 24/7 video history on the plus plan.
Overall, I love the portability of this camera. The wifi range is strong enough to mount it just about anywhere in a single house, and the battery life should be able to go months at a time without a recharge. The speaker is a nice improvement over the original as well, with much louder sound and less static. If you’re looking for a truly portable wireless security camera, you should definitely check out the new Google Nest Security Camera

Great value, easy to use blood pressure monitor!

The Beurer BM31 is an excellent, basic upper arm blood pressure monitor. It’s compact, very easy to use, has an easy to read display, and comes with advanced features like arrhythmia and irregular heartbeat detection - which can be invaluable for the early detection of issues in the long run. Accuracy wise, I compared the readings head to head with my other “reference” unit that costs 3x more and all the readings were within the same range. Remarkable! I especially like how I can cycle through my old readings and it automatically calculates my average AM, PM, and overall average readings. According to Beurer, it can store up to 120 readings for 2 different profiles, which is handy if you’re sharing with a housemate. The extra-large adjustable cuff works great as well. We have a good range of arm thicknesses in my household, and I can confirm it fits well for featherweight to heavyweight sizes.
Usage wise, finding out your blood pressure is as simple as strapping on the cuff and pressing the large white button. The large digital readout will turn on and the cuff will start inflating, pretty standard affair. The readout is clear, with big black numerals that make it easy to read. Pressing the M button will cycle through your old readings and average readings, and you can switch profiles with the + and - buttons. And that’s about it for features. The Beurer BM31 is a no frills upper arm blood pressure monitor that’s made to be reliable, accurate, and easy to use. It’s an outstanding value for a blood pressure monitor, and it even comes with batteries and a bag to keep it all together! Great job Beurer!

If you’re looking for a lightweight and easy to breathe mask, you’ll love the Active mask by AIRPOP. Yes, it’s a bit pricey, but it also comes with 4 replaceable filters, so it’s like getting 4 high quality masks at once. And this is definitely on the nicer side of the scale. It’s a 2 piece design with a stiffer mesh outer shell and a soft inner filter liner made of material similar to N95 and KN95 masks. Except these have a TPE seal that lines the whole mask to help it seal and be more comfortable against your skin. The only problem I have with this liner is that it doesn’t seal well against facial hair, but then nothing really does either. I just notice it more with this mask than my other ones for some reason. That said, the outer mask does a great job covering any gaps and it’s stiff enough to hold a shape without collapsing as you breathe in and out. Which leads me to the best part about this mask.
It’s super comfortable and easy to breathe in. The ear straps are thin and long enough for proper mask tension. I don’t need it so tight that it pulls my ears forward, which I greatly appreciate. And it’s remarkably easy to breathe in - proper seal and all. I was surprised by this, because it’s a 2 layer mask that claims to filter out 99% of particles down to 2.5pm. That’s near N95 level of filtration! However it notes that they’re non-medical, so keep that in mind if you’re working in healthcare. This is an excellent mask for most other things though, especially work, school, and big social gatherings. For going out and about I don’t mind my cheaper masks, but if I’m wearing a mask for hours this is definitely the one I take. If you have to wear a mask for a long time and want something that looks good and is comfortable enough to forget you’re wearing it, I highly suggest trying the AIRPOP Active mask.

Not 4k. It's 2560x1440. Think of it like 2K.

Does this speaker have the ability for phone conversations? answer calls. voice call commands via google assistant if i ask my phone to make a call, will this speak be compatible to use voice and hear throught speaker
No. It's just for audio. I have to switch the call to my phone when I'm connected to this speaker.
