Wireless Clicky Keyboard of My Dreams
on June 24, 2020
Posted by: BIGASN
from Olney, MD
I won't even hold back, I love this keyboard. It's clicky. It's wireless. It's extremely responsive. And it's full-sized, yet compact. It does everything you'd expect from a high end gaming keyboard in this class, especially from a company as reputable in peripherals as Logitech. If there's any downside, it's a bit hefty at 2 lbs, but there might be a good reason for that. Let's get into the details.
TL;DR - If you want a clicky wireless keyboard, you will be very happy.
PERFORMANCE
The G915 TKL is so responsive you'll forget it's wireless. Using the USB Lightspeed receiver, I've had no delay or connection issues. It wakes up my PC just as a wired one should and the battery life is ridiculous if you dim or turn the illumination off (46 days!!!). But this is a gaming keyboard, so of course the lights are staying on and they're even easy to customize with the Logitech G Hub app. For light customization (Lightsync) there's presets and animations that you can edit/save, or go full freestyle with your own programming. And doing so is as easy as picking your color and which button you want to change. I wish other companies made customization this easy, because something as simple as lights really should be. G HUB also makes it easy to customize macros, commands, and there's a "Game Mode" that's pretty nifty as well. Here you can select what keys are deactivated in Game Mode, which is useful if you're a bit clumsy with your hands like me. Speaking of which, the Logitech engineers had the forethought to add buttons at the top of the keyboard to easily change between Lightspeed or bluetooth connection, turn game mode on/off, and control keyboard illumination. Across from them on the right are the media control buttons and a metal volume dial which all manage to stay pretty low profile. What's cool about the Lightspeed and bluetooth button is that you can hook them up to different computers and switch which one it's connected to with a single button push. This is the clicky version of the G915 TKL, which should be immensely satisfying to old school heads like myself. It uses Kailh switches that are industry proven and should also make the keycaps customizable if you want to get creative.
DESIGN
It's a full size TKL keyboard with a brushed dark metal body, outstanding finish, and surprising heft at 2 lbs. I don't know if it's the metal body or a large battery that contributes to this, but it could also be by design. The combo of the rubber feet and weight have kept it planted better than any other keyboard I've had. This is important in competition where response rate and reflexes can be the difference between winning and losing. Aesthetically, Logitech kept the lines clean and compact in the design of the G915 TKL, which manages a full size feel while saving valuable table space. And yes, since it's wireless, it does well on the lap too.
OVERALL
The Logitech G915 TKL is an outstanding wireless gaming keyboard. It's responsive, well built, easy to customize, and oh so clicky. If you're in the market for a high end wireless keyboard, you won't be disappointed by the G915 TKL line. They also have a tactile and linear version if clicky isn't your thing. Highly recommended.

Excellent all day portable PA
on June 20, 2020
Posted by: BIGASN
from Olney, MD
If you're looking for a compact portable PA system with bluetooth, or even a simple speaker/mixer setup, the JBL EON ONE has you covered. I was excited to get my hands on this speaker as I used to do pro audio setups and was always fascinated by the compact all-in-one units. Having a built-in battery, mixer, and amplifier make them convenient for everything from parties to presentations to events to just enjoying some tunes. But while the EON ONE is a great do it all speaker, it does have few drawbacks. Let’s dig in.
DESIGN
The EON ONE is matte black all over and about the size of a medium bookshelf speaker. It's surprisingly "light" at 18lbs with a sturdy and spacious handle built into the top of the speaker that makes it fairly easy to carry. I genuinely appreciate how rugged the body feels as PA speakers get transported and bumped often, so they have to be able to withstand abuse. The knobs are the only potential weak spot I can see, but they're slightly recessed below the body which should help protect them. There's a wide slot on the top of the speaker that works as a phone/tablet mount which is a clever design trick. The speaker is also made to lay horizontally with rubber feet on the angled side so it stays properly tilted up as a monitor. My only gripe about the design is that I wish the knobs had detents. It's a minor detail and personal preference, but the tactile feedback of the knobs are the only part of the speaker that felt lacking to me.
SOUND
It took a bit of tuning, but this is an excellent sounding speaker! At first it seemed a bit flat, but there's knobs for adjusting the bass and treble on the fly, and if connected to the app it unlocks even more tuning control with a 5 band EQ. Unfortunately, I had connection issues with the app so I wasn't able to use these features yet, but that can be fixed with a future software update. However, don't let that dismay you. The app isn't necessary and I was able to get the sound where I wanted with just the bass, treble, and reverb controls (which can be adjusted individually for each input). What's surprising about this speaker is how loud and clear it can play with minimal distortion. Granted, it's a compact PA speaker so don't expect rumbling bass, but it offers decent punch in the midbass with smooth and clear vocals. I was kind of expecting the tweeter to be overly bright for some reason but the highs were relaxed and natural. I want to say it's tuned a bit towards vocals, but it actually does pretty well as a main speaker too. Coupled with the wireless convenience of bluetooth and a looooong lasting battery, it was perfect for outdoor movie night. But it's so much better than a bluetooth speaker, because you can hook up 2 microphones and boom, movie night becomes karaoke night.
FUNCTION
The JBL EON ONE is simple to use, but you might need to look up the manual to figure it out the first time. The inputs are self explanatory with two XLR-1/4" mic jacks, a 1/4" line-in, a 1/8" line-in, a 1/4" pass through jack, and 2 USB slots. Every knob or button has a label, but at first it's a little confusing which does what and when. 4/5 knobs are dual purpose, so their function changes depending on if it's in MIX or CH mode. In MIX mode, each knob works as gain control for the input it's assigned to, but in CH mode the knobs change to either gain, treble, bass, or reverb control. If you're wondering why the treble/bass/reverb doesn't seem to be adjusting, make sure you're in the right mode. Yes, this sounds obvious, but you'll be surprised how often it happens. The knobs have a smooth motion and the levels are gauged by a circle of light that completes itself if you turn it all the way up. If you're looking for a dial with detents or numbers, you're out of luck, it's all tuning by ear here. Which is really what we end up doing anyway, so not a big deal. One of the most impressive features of this speaker is the replaceable 12 hour battery, which seems to actually last that long and is super easy to replace. I was honestly a bit surprised that JBL made it swappable, because electronic companies seem to all be going the fixed battery route these days, so big ups to them. Plus, all you need is 1 more battery and you essentially have 24 hours of non-stop sound. The fact that it can play this long and loud while weighing less than most car batteries is outstanding to me. It even has 2 USB ports to charge your devices!
OVERALL
If you're looking for a compact PA speaker, or even just a powered bluetooth speaker with a built-in mixer, definitely give the JBL EON ONE a listen. It's super portable, well built, easy to use, sounds great, and has a battery that can go all day.

Cheap wireless way to enjoy CDs.
on May 6, 2020
Posted by: BIGASN
from Olney, MD
The Memorex portable bluetooth disc player is a relatively cheap option to enjoy CDs with a modern twist of being able to use your wireless headphones/speakers. It's a no frills, back to basic player with controls that should be very familiar to anyone that has used a CD player before. Let's do quick run down on the gritty.
FUNCTION
It played a good mix of produced and burned CDs I put through it and the shock protection seems to work pretty well. There's quite a nostalgic feeling carrying a discman in my pocket, but it's a lot nicer knowing I can put it in a bag and go wireless with bluetooth headphones while I'm on the go. Unfortunately, the bluetooth doesn't have much range, so I would keep the disc player on me if I was out and about. If you've ever used a portable cd player before, all of the buttons and layout will seem 2nd nature. Nothing fancy here, except for the bluetooth button, which connects the same way most do by simply holding the button down until the symbol flashes.
SOUND QUALITY
If you're looking to enjoy a high fidelity compact disc experience, look elsewhere. The sound quality is uninspiring overall and the bass boost makes it muddy. What's odd is that I couldn't figure out if I liked the sound more with or without the bass boost, which only works if you're connecting to the wired headphone port, so you'll be spared this quandary if you're going bluetooth anyway.
DESIGN
Physically, it looks just like the classic portable CD players from the 90's. There's a neon green ring that goes around the rim of the player giving it a sporty look to contrast the matte and gloss black body. The plastic feels cheap as does the build quality, but it works and is reflective of the price point.
OVERALL
If you're looking for a relatively cheap, bluetooth portable CD player this Memorex player can do the job. It's a cute, retro throwback and while I'm not a fan of this player, I did have a good time blasting my old mix CDs through my bluetooth speakers.

Attractive and well built ANC bluetooth headphones
on March 31, 2020
Posted by: BIGASN
from Olney, MD
The Marshall Monitor II ANC bluetooth headphones are one of the better built options in the active noise cancelling headphone market. It's compact without feeling small, comfortable, folds up well, looks great, sounds good, offers 30+ hours of battery life, and has outstanding build quality. But while it's a solid pair of cans overall, it does have a few flaws.. let's dig in!
BUILD QUALITY
I like to think of my myself as a person for details and these headphones are impressive. The texture of the materials is top notch, the faux leather band looks good, the ear cushions are comfortable, and the cans themselves have that classic Marshall matte leather look. They're sturdy and should hold up to a lot of abuse. I wasn't sure about the brass joystick at first, but it looks good and has excellent tactile feedback. It's just stiff enough and there's detents for each direction so you can be sure which direction you pressed. Part of me thinks a joystick should be a bad idea, but it works very well and it's yet to give me a wrong command. There's also a nice kind of plastic plaque that's screwed into the band on each side denoting Right and Left. Nothing major, just nice a nice detail overall.
APPEARANCE
Black on black on black with a hint of brass. Classic Marshall looks that exude cool. Attractive on their own, their compact size ensures you won't look silly with them on. It's kind of remarkable that Marshall made a compact over-the-ear headphone that's this comfortable. The cushions fully overlap my ears without any issue and are comfortable enough to wear for hours.
SOUND
Marshall has a reputation for making great sounding amps in the rock world and they just about captured it here. The Monitor II does well with most genres of music and sound mostly balanced overall. The app offers a 5 band EQ to fine tune your sound and lets you save up to 3 of them, which you can cycle through with the Marshall button if you set it that way. However, while it sounds good and gets plenty loud, there's a certain restraint in the vocals that I can't pinpoint. It makes the sound stage seem a bit closed and shallow... like if I close my eyes I know I'm listening to headphones vs getting lost in an open aura of sound. Don't get me wrong, the Monitor II sounds good, just not breathtaking, which I kind of hope for in headphones of this caliber.
FUNCTION
The Active Noise Reduction works well, though won't drown out all the sounds. If you're just trying to drown out the noise of the world and be in silence, this won't do it for you. Play some audio though and the ANC shines keeping the distractions away. It even still works when using the 3.5mm wired input, so you can blissfully lose yourself in your own moment while the world blares around you. And if the world so happens to need your attention, there's a hidden "ANC" button that pauses the music and switches to monitor mode so you can clearly hear what's going on without have to remove your headphones. One more press and it's back to the tunes. On the other side, there's a programmable "M" button that you can set to either cycle through 3 different EQ settings, or function as a Google/Native assistant button. The app even can even sync with your phone's assistant app so it'll literally tell you who just sent you a text or is calling. Nifty.

NEGATIVES
If there's any negative aspect to these headphones, it's the app. I don't believe you need the Marshall app to connect audio to your phone, but you will need it to set your EQs, program the "M" button, and adjust the noise reduction level. The layout of the app is pretty simple to use, however the app keeps disconnecting from the headphones while you're using it, so it's frustrating to make any changes. This is especially annoying when trying to adjust the EQ or ANC sound levels, only to find out it disconnected and you'll have to try changing it again. I hope it's just a bug that gets fixed in the next app update, because it hampers what's otherwise a great product overall. Thankfully, while the app has connection issues, the headphones still stay connected to the phone so there's no audio playback issues.
If you love the Marshall look and style, you'll love the Monitor II ANC headphones. They're not perfect, but sound good and are impressively well made. With 30+ hours of battery life on a single charge, you won't have to worry about them dying on you either.

Good Portable Speaker, Potential To Be Great
on March 19, 2020
Posted by: BIGASN
from Olney, MD
The Ultimate Ears Hyperboom is so close to being awesome it kills me. It's well built, simple to use, sounds great, gets loud and clear, can go a whole day on a single charge, can charge your USB devices, is easy to carry, looks great, and is splash proof so I can bring it to the pool party with confidence. So why am I down on it? Simple. It won't hook up to my phone.
Yes, I have an older phone (LG V20) which could be the issue, but I've never had an issue with the bluetooth connecting to a device. From cars, to headsets, to speakers, to headphones, to printers, to computers, to tablets, to my smartwatch, the bluetooth on my phone has never given me an issue, yet with the Hyperboom it does. They'll pair up just fine, but as soon as I play any audio the bluetooth on my phone crashes and is forced to restart only to keep reconnecting and crashing as soon as another sound is played. I've tried clearing my bluetooth data and cache, and reinstalling the UE Boom app, but nothing fixes it. Which is a shame, because I've connected the Hyperboom to other devices and it sounds great and would be awesome to use, if only it would work with my main device. It's a new release, so I'm hoping a firmware update will be out soon to clear this up. Could easily be the star of a few parties after the covid19 outbreak clears and I envision a lot of fun days at the beach with this speaker, but only if I can connect to it wirelessly. However, if you're in the majority that don't own an LG V20, you're in luck!
Aside from the V20 bluetooth failure, I'm happy to say the bluetooth connects perfectly with the iPhone XR, Lenovo Tab2 Android tablet, and Alienware R9 Windows 10 PC. The latency seems low as I don't notice any delay in the audio when playing corresponding video. This means that it'll also make a good multimedia speaker, and I'm already excited about pairing it up with my Mars projector and a laptop for outdoor movie and game nights. With a battery that's rated for 24 hours on a single charge, and realistically probably 6 hours blasting it outside, the Hyperboom can go about a whole day on a single charge and only takes about 2.5 hours for a full recharge. What's nifty is that UE includes a USB port to charge your devices to ensure the party keeps going. The port is for charging devices only, so no playing mp3s off a flash drive, but it's hard to complain about inputs when there's 4 included.
The Hyperboom has 1 optical, 1 auxiliary 3.5mm, and 2 bluetooth inputs. It's a bit odd to find an optical audio input on a portable bluetooth speaker, yet with the size, volume, and sound quality of this speaker, I think it reinforces the notion that Ultimate Ears envisioned this as a multimedia speaker. Optical makes an easy hook up to a Playstation, Xbox, laptop, or cable box for clean digital audio. And while I couldn't wirelessly connect my phone to the Hyperboom, it sounded great connected through the headphone jack, especially since I get to take advantage of the V20's 32bit Quad DAC hooked up this way.
Visually, the Hyperboom is an attractive 14" tall black square with rounded edges. If you're an audiophile, it looks a lot like the Definitive Technology BP tower speakers, but obviously shorter and with matte surfaces. It's a high quality finish that's attractive without being flashy and should fit in with any decor. I especially love the hidden handle at the back corner. It's thick, sturdy, hides well and should hold up for a long time. Feeling along the speaker fabric, you'll notice all the speakers are protected by a sturdy cage so you can have peace of mind carrying it around without accidentally damaging a speaker cone. Great job UE engineers!
If you're connecting the Hyperboom to an Android or iOS device, definitely download the UE Boom app. It could use some work, but it unlocks a 5 band EQ and an adaptive EQ feature. While this isn't needed to play audio through the speaker, the customizable frequency settings definitely help cater the audio to your liking.
So, how's it sound? Fantastic! I think the bass extension is going to depend on the setting you're in, but a single speaker is plenty loud enough to power a casual patio party or cookout. The bass response is a lot more full and balanced indoors, but it'll play loud and clear just about anywhere and it def gets loud. Feed it good quality audio and it'll surprise you with its range and balance. However for a speaker in this price range and quality, I'm disappointed it doesn't use the high quality aptX bluetooth codec.
Overall, I want to love this speaker, because it's likely a firmware update away from being great, but for now, it is what it is. 3.5 stars with a potential for 5. Make sure it connects with your device before buying it, and if it does, you have a great sounding, versatile, wireless, portable speaker.

Great fit with amazing bass and battery life.

Don't hesitate, if the Jabra Elite Active 75t bluetooth ear buds are in your budget, get them! The sound quality and bass is outstanding, they're small enough to casually hide in your ear, the 7.5 hours of battery life will have you set for almost a full day, they charge quickly, fit snug yet comfortable, have an adjustable 5 band EQ, and are ip57 waterproof rated, so there's no worries about sweating it up and accidentally killing them. There's so much I love about these headphones, it's hard to figure out where to start.
Aesthetically, the Jabra Active 75t earbuds are attractive yet small enough to stealthily fit in your ear without being distracting. It's great when you don't want to draw attention to them and therefore won't throw off your look or outfit either. What's especially nice is that the case for them is very compact and easily fits in any pants pocket so it's not a hassle to keep them with you. This is key for not only protecting the headphones, but because the case holds another 20 hours of battery life to charge the headphones, so you can refuel them while they're in the case in your pocket if needed. If you're in a rush, you'll get 60 minutes of life within the first 15 minutes of charging... not too shabby.
Sound quality wise, OMG. The bass extension is better than any headphone or earbud I've sampled. From tight to boomy, with the 5 band EQ, it's up to you. The frequency range is well balanced too, as you can hear the individual notes, among many other nuances in songs you might not have heard before. It's a joy to listen to these and thank Jabra for making the user EQ settings savable. Switching up EQ profiles is just a button press away in the Jabra app and couldn't be more simple.
Speaking of the Jabra+ app, it's required to use these headphones and is not obtrusive at all. It's pretty simple, with 3 different user programmable "Moment" settings so you can quickly switch settings for when you're working out vs riding in a car vs just casually listening to music. What's also a great feature is Jabra's "HearThrough" which essentially uses the built-in microphone to let in sound from your local environment, so you can hear what's going on around you. You can adjust how much sound it lets in with a simple slider in the app, and it's even easier to turn it off and on, with just a simple button press on the left earbud. This is especially great when you want to eavesdrop without letting people know you're listening.
Would I recommend this to a friend? Heck yeah. The Jabra Active 75t is well built and very well thought out. They're light, sound incredible, won't look silly in your ears, sweatproof, and can go for over 7 hours on a single charge. If you're on the fence, just get them. They're wonderful.

Handy Grip/Mini-Tripod Remote for Sony Cameras
on February 6, 2020
Posted by: BIGASN
from Olney, MD
The Sony shooting grip with remote is a handy accessory for anyone with a compatible Sony camera. It's compact enough to fit into any reasonable pants pocket, which also makes it easy to toss into your kit bag. The housing is a rugged matte black plastic that's very well made, while the buttons offer excellent tactile feedback. When holding the grip, you'll have convenient thumb access to buttons for taking photos, recording video, zoom, and the programmable C1 button. All the buttons are easy to reach and thankfully, very, very responsive so you won't have to worry about missing that shot.
I'll admit, when I first saw the Sony grip remote, I was hoping it included a gimbal, which would be a tremendous aid for anyone shooting video and make up for the lack of stabilization for a6100 and a6000 users shooting on a lens without built in OSS. Unfortunately, there's no stabilization feature here. Think of the Sony grip remote as a responsive bluetooth camera remote in a grip/mini-tripod body. Speaking of which, having legs that extend out to turn the grip into a table top tripod is very handy! Probably my favorite feature actually, as I do a lot of macro product photography so having a sturdy table top tripod that also functions as a remote is super convenient. And while it doesn't have gimbal features, the camera mount on the grip has buttons that easily let you manually rotate it at all angles.
If you have a compatible Sony camera and are in the market for a remote or table top tripod, I highly recommend this grip! It's responsive, sturdy, compact, and should be excellent for macro or selfie shooters.

Amazing Auto-Focus and Picture Quality
on January 13, 2020
Posted by: BIGASN
from Olney, MD
The Sony a6100 is the direct replacement for the immensely popular a6000, which is a series of cameras in a league of their own. If you're a fan of the older model, you'll be happy to find how familiar the a6100 feels because they're physically very much the same, except for a few very noticeable and significant upgrades. Let's start with those.
4K video - Finally! The picture is splendid, and while the a6100 body lacks image stabilization (you'll need to rely on lenses with built in IS), the color and quality is fantastic. Unfortunately, being the entry level model of this series, it lacks the scene programming for 4K video like the a6400 and a6600, which makes color grading and contrast adjustments in camera for better video output. Not a deal breaker, the picture quality is great already and I make adjustments in post anyway. It would make things convenient for quick video takes though, and hopefully this can be added with a firmware update in the future.
425 Point Focus - Yes, that's four hundred twenty five point of phase and contrast detection. It's almost the entire view screen and it's a big part of what makes the Sony a6100 lineup so great. The older a6000 was renown for having an outstanding autofocus with 179 points of phase and 25 points of contrast detection, while the newer a6100 builds on that even more. Fortunately, like the older models Sony kept the automatic eye focusing (automatically recognizes eyes to focus on) and promises rapid .02 second focus time. As long as you're within your lenses focusing distance, I found this all to hold up. It's pretty stellar, and there's multiple auto-focus modes with tracking that help ensure your subject always stays crisp.
Articulating Screen - The screen can now articulate to face up, down, or forward for selfie mode. Coming from a Nikon DSLR with an articulating screen, this is a feature I love because I'm constantly contorting myself or the camera to find a good angle. For instance, when shooting kids or animals, I can tilt the screen to face upward while I hold the camera lower and get a more interesting angle of the subject. This is also very useful when shooting video, as I don't have to crouch down and try to move with the subject. I can now just face the screen upward, stand, and walk normally as I record. For those into selfies, or shooting selfie videos, the screen can even move all the way up and rotate forward for selfie mode, so you can see the screen as you're standing in front of the lens. The only downside is that you won't be able to use the hotshoe while the screen is in selfie mode, but if needed, you can setup extra lights for video, or make shutter, aperture, or ISO adjustments for photo.
Microphone Port - The body now has a 3.5mm microphone input, so you can now use your external mic for better sound capture. Pair this with wired lapel mic, put the screen in selfie mode, and you have a nice, little 4K YouTube recording kit.
Power/Charge Simultaneously - Apparently, in the older model you couldn't power the camera from the USB charging. That sounds asinine, but thankfully, you can with the a6100. I still don't like that the screen doesn't seem to tell you anything about the battery charging status unless you turn the camera on. There's a little orange light next to the charging port that tells you if it's charging, but it can be hard to see with the cable plugged in.
That's about it for major differences between the a6100 the older a6000. Sony still offers both for the time being, and if you're undecided between the two, I'd definitely go with the newer a6100. 425 points of AF detection is too good to pass up, and while both are excellent photo cameras, the a6100 has a major edge in video with 4k video and 3.5 mic port.
Outside of the upgrades with the newer a6100, the camera stays true to all the reviews you've likely read about the a6000 line. It uses Sony e mount lenses, which has a much larger library of quality lenses than I initially thought, has a built-in pop up flash, hot shoe, excellent display/touch screen, and accurate view finder. Some reviews complain about the viewfinder not being high resolution like the higher end models, but it's clear and accurate, which matters to me more. I also love that it turns the viewfinder off until the camera senses you holding it to your face. Of all the features on this camera, I found it the most nifty. It only helps in extending battery life, but it's fun when a device seems to know what you're doing.
In terms of picture quality, fit finish, and ergonomics, Sony did an outstanding job. It's a medium sized interchangeable lens mirrorless camera with an APS-C sensor. While smaller than a traditional body DSLR, it's not small enough to fit in most pockets, but with the 20mm pancake lens could reasonably fit in a winter jacket pocket. Larger hands might want to add a grip or a case to give the grip a little more size, but it should fit well in most hands. Most everything is accessible by your right thumb and the knobs and buttons all give excellent digital response and tactile feedback. WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity are also included, which makes it super easy to transfer photos from the camera to your phone and you can even control the camera from your phone with the free Sony Imaging Edge Mobile app. This part is huge for me, because now I can review my pics on my phone or tablet right after a shoot and quickly back them up or publish them. No laptop or desktop needed!
If you're in the market for a medium sized camera the Sony a6100 is a great choice for all skill levels. It's well built, has a great screen, interchangeable lenses, good low light performance, WiFi, Bluetooth, and one of the best auto-focus systems available today. It'll help you take great photos if you don't know what you're doing, and has enough flexibility to take amazing photos if you do.

Maneuverable Leaf Blower, Good for Quick Jobs

The Hoover ONEPWR cordless leaf blower is relatively light, easily maneuverable, and a good choice for quick jobs like cleaning leaves off your deck, patio, or walkways. Power wise, this Hoover does a fairly good job of blowing piles of dry leaves away that were nestled in hard to reach spots on my deck and patio. It's wonderful being able to blow leaves and debris out vs having to move things around and clearing the area with a broom. Unfortunately, it struggled a bit with the weight of piles of damp leaves, so you'll have to get real close to move the wet ones. Gas blowers do a better job by offering more power, however being electric with a lithium battery enabled the Hoover to be light and well balanced so I was able to aim and maneuver the blower to attack the leaves from angles I traditionally wouldn't have been able to.
Weight is the main attribute where the ONEPWR blower shines. It has a sturdy handle with variable speed trigger that's ergonomic and easy to use. The lithium ion battery slides into the back of the blower and it all balances out fairly well holding it with one arm. Not having to deal with arm strain or a stiff back from continually holding up a heavy blower is a Godsend. Another key advantage over gas is that it's also incredibly easy to start - just slide the battery in, pull the trigger, and you're ready to rock and roll. Which also makes it great for quick jobs, because you can reliably get the blower going and clear out the patio at the last minute before guests arrive.
The Hoover ONEPWR is designed to be a system of small tools and appliances that all use the same battery. If you have multiple devices within this system and multiple batteries to go with them, you'll likely find them all very useful. However, each battery is about $60 as of this writing, and while this leaf blower does a solid job it only gave me enough juice for about 25 minutes on a full charge. Which doesn't sound like much, but was more than enough time needed to clear off all the leaves that have been collecting in the crevices of my deck and patio. If you wanted to do a sizable yard, I would definitely recommend having multiple batteries on hand or even going gas. However, the ONEPWR blower is an excellent choice to quickly clean up the outside area around the house. I especially like how the weight and balance enables me to aim the blower in a multitude of directions, which is a lot more useful in practice than you'd think.
If you're looking for a light, convenient, and maneuverable wind cannon to do QUICK jobs around the house, the Hoover ONEPWR is a solid choice.

Well made mechanical keyboard

The Alienware 510k is an excellent mechanical keyboard for any type of use. Built with class leading Cherry MX red switches each keystroke is smooth, quiet, and confident in motion. Keep in mind, this uses linear switches so there's no bump or click in the keystroke feedback, but this also makes it quieter to type on with minimal lag between actuations, the latter being essential for top notch gaming performance.
Oriented as a gaming keyboard, you can use the Alienware Command Center app to change the backlit color effects and even program custom macro keys. There's a custom color wheel available to individualize sections of the keyboard to your liking, which also includes about a dozen transition lighting effects. The menu to create custom macro keys seems somewhat straight forward in the Command Center app, but I've yet to try it out. However, being able to program a custom set of keystrokes into a custom assigned button is a tremendous advantage for gamers.
While the 510k is made as a gaming keyboard, it's a quality mechanical keyboard overall. It's well built and excellent for typing with a volume control dial that integrates perfectly with Windows 10. It even includes 2 height adjustment risers to offer a choice in the keyboard tilt. If there's any knock on this keyboard, it's that it's described as low profile, but it's clearly a full size keyboard with what's about an 8 gauge wire coming out the rear. If anything, depending on your setup, the thick wire can be a bit cumbersome. The reason for the added girth is that it actually houses 2 USB cables, one for the keyboard input, and the other for the lighting. On the bright side, the keyboard offers a convenient USB port at the rear which is quite handy.
If you're in the market for a well built, quiet, mechanical Windows keyboard, you can't go wrong with the Alienware 510k. It's excellent for general use with programmable macro functions that offer a great advantage in gaming.

Can the AW510k keyboard be purchased with Cherry MX Red SILENT switches?

It currently uses the Cherry MX red switches, which I believe by color code are the silent switches.
