These LED dots are one of the many Twinkly lighting products. They are well made, light weight, and provide almost unlimited variation. It was easy to download and configure them using the Twinkly app. I was able to quickly create an account using my Apple ID. You can also use your Facebook login - or if you don’t like those choices, you can create a standard account with an email and password. You need to create an account in order to fully enjoy the app. Once I had an account, the app updated the firmware on the lights. Then, connecting them to my network was fast and easy. I was impressed with the design and layout of the app. It makes it easy to adjust the dots to a particular color or brightness level, and to set them on a schedule. But the real fun is playing with the *many* options for animating the lights. I was disappointed to find that the dots claimed they came with adhesive pads for attaching them, but there were none in the box (nor were the pads listed on the box as included). Fortunately, the strings and dots are light weight, so any double-sided adhesive foam would probably work. Secondly, although the “string” includes 200 light dots, it’s really two 100 strings connected to the main plug (see picture), so you have to install them knowing this.

I found this monitor to be easy to set up. It’s well-packaged without using too much styrofoam and other unnecessary cushioning. The instructions for unpacking and assembly go hand in hand, making it easy to pick up the monitor from the box after you’ve attached the stand. The illustrations are clear and straightforward, although I’ve noticed a trend toward smaller and smaller print on these types of instructions, which is not welcome to older eyes! No tools are required and it snaps solidly together. Unlike many monitors of late, Dell includes an HDMI cable, which I really appreciate. The monitor also allows for an additional HDMI cable if you want to use a different source, such as video, or even connect it to two different computers. The color rendering is excellent and the display is both bright and sharp. I noticed no edge illumination problems. I especially like the easy tilt that allows both up and down adjustments.

Review for Logitech - MX Mechanical Full size Wireless Mechanical Tactile Switch Keyboard for Windows/macOS with Backlit Keys
This keyboard is so adaptable. I like the height settings that allow you to set the angle of typing. It’s very simple to install; I connected mine to my Mac in seconds via Bluetooth. If you prefer there is a (super small!) USB dongle that you can use instead that allows two other devices to be used as well.
The backlight feature is excellent at night or in low light conditions. If you don’t need it, you can turn it off and the keyboard should run on a single charge for 10 months! If you keep the backlight future on, the keys light up as you move your hands near them, and the charge is good for two weeks. It’s easy to recharge with the included USB Cable.
The motion of the keys is smooth and comfortable. They are not too squishy or too loud; just right!
The top row of function keys can be programmed to your needs and little things like a blinking caps lock button are extra nice touches.
A very well thought out, designed, and engineered keyboard.

Govee - Dreamview TV Strip Lights - for 55”- 65” TVs
I found these TV lights easy to install. The instructions are straightforward and the app to connect to them worked great for setup. Similar systems can easily cost more than 3X as much, so I was pleased to see that they are well made and are very bright — although you can dim them to your favorite level. In order to mimic the TV image, more expensive systems tap into the TV signal itself; these use a small fisheye camera that you can mount above or below the screen. I was skeptical that the response time for such a system would be unacceptable, but again, was surprised at how well this works! I also thought the camera, though small, would be annoying, but it’s easily ignored. I took away one star for the app that controls the lights. It’s not hard to use, but it’s set up to include all of Govee’s products and, as such is crowded and a bit confusing. The ability to customize the layout for your product(s) would make it more user friendly.

JVC True Wireless Earbuds
I thought these buds would be a good, low-cost option for listening to podcasts, news, or talking on the phone — and they are. I was not expecting them to provide such fidelity for music! Truly, they may not match that of famous maker brands that cost 8X as much, but at this price point, they are pretty great. Mid-range and treble is excellent. Bass is not booming, but for their size, I wouldn’t expect it to be. Setup is quick and easy, battery life is wonderful, the form factor of the buds and the case is nice. They fit well in my ears without that “plugged” feeling of buds with silicone tips. It’s easy to wear them during exercise. They come on automatically when I take them from the case and pair quickly without fuss. Touch controls are a big improvement over similar designs. A very light touch or tap is all that is needed for volume and playback controls. I really dislike the designs that make you press so hard on the bud when it’s in you ear! Overall a great set of earbuds!

I’ll admit it, I’m not great at remembering to floss. The hygienist does it for me twice a year, and I seem to be good for about a week after my appointment, but then I slack off. I thought having a power flosser would be a great alternative to neglecting my dental health.
Before trying it, I thought it would be loud and messy, but neither of these things proved to be true. The Philips 7000 was SO much quieter than I expected. and the feeling is refreshing, not messy. The quad tip was better for trying to clean the back side of my teeth, but doesn’t seem to be as effective at flossing between them as the standard nozzle. There are a lot of different modes and accessories, but besides the ones for more sensitive gums, the standard settings seem very adequate, especially since you already adjust the intensity to your desired level. That said, it seems like all of the options are good and it certainly gets the job done well.

Simmons 10" Medium Memory Foam Mattress - White
There are a number of mattress companies popular lately for their online sales that come directly to you compressed and ready to set up. I was surprised and pleased to see that Serta/Simmons had introduced their own line.
I got this mattress in a full size and was amazed that it came in such a small box. Unboxing it was easier than lugging a full size mattress upstairs. It came well wrapped and it was VERY flat once unrolled. After unrolling it and carefully cutting the airtight bag, it began to expand. Within a few minutes it was almost full size. By the next day it was fully expanded.
I tested the edge and thought it was too soft to sleep on, but laying on it changed my mind! It had a nice, but firm give to it. I felt fully supported by it and tried it out the a few nights later. (Full disclosure, Simmons is very upfront that the mattress will smell for a few days after it’s opened, and it did. Nothing too awful, but not ready to be slept on right out of the box! Within a few days , the smell was gone.)
I found that the foam was so supportive, that I didn’t toss nearly as much as I normally do. I’m sleeping better on it than any mattress I’ve had in years!

These smart glasses look so great, wear so nice, and have so many other positives, that I really wanted to like them more, but the music quality is, sadly, just not very good. As my review title says, voice audio is great - sharp and clear - but the lack of ANY bass makes listening to music simply disappointing. I really liked them for making and taking phone calls, and imagine they would be great for listening to podcasts.
In fairness, I played with my phone’s music EQ settings and found that putting on “loudness,” “bass boost,” or “treble reduce” all made for a better music listening experience.
In the plus column, these shades are excellent sun glasses, with quality, polarized lenses, that can be swapped out for a wide variety of alternatives, as well as prescription lenses. The frames are rated IP-56 for water and dust proof protection. This means they are splashproof, although they cannot be submerged, and should not have sound quality compromised by dust. The 6.5-8 hours of active listening battery life is spectacular; some other manufacturers give you two hours, tops. Finally, the electronics are built into the temple pieces separately; there is no wiring needed through the hinges to connect them. While this may seem unimportant, I personally had to toss another maker’s smart glasses because of a hinge wiring failure - the audio stopped in one ear and stopped charging.

I’m a big fan of the Insignia brand, which provides quality products at an affordable price. This unit is sized perfectly for our main living level - an open floor plan. I like how the display lets you know the current air quality and is quiet in sleep mode. I notice how it kicks up filtering when I cook or the dog runs by.
I also like that the filter is one piece, combining HEPA, carbon, and particle filters - no need to shop for and replace separate filters! The unit is compact for its capacity and blends well with our living space.

We put on an addition years ago with very nice, wired speakers in the ceiling. Recently, we’ve used them less often in favor of Bluetooth speakers that are portable and convenient for playing music using voice commands.
The Belkin - SoundForm Connect Adapter gives us the best of both worlds! It’s a cinch to install and surprisingly tiny. We connected it directly to our stereo amplifier, but it would be equally at home on a TV home theater sound system or a TV sound bar. There’s an included usb power supply and either a digital audio out or a 1/8” stereo jack that runs through the amp to the speakers.
Using the Belkin SOUNDFORM app and Airplay, you can cast your favorite song, album, or playlist to the connected speakers.
I wish the instructions included just a *little* more info on Airplay itself. The fact that I still have a stereo system probably says more about me and my unfamiliarity with Airplay, but a few pointers would have made this a truly effortless learning curve!

How many filters does this have. Are they washable
Just one - it combines particle (for dust etc.), carbon (for odors), and HEPA for fine particulates. It can’t be washed but can be vacuumed to make it last longer. It’s supposed to last a year or more.

Yes. It even comes with a phone cord. This is probably great for offices that still fax and have a dedicated line, but many homes don't have landlines any more.
