This wake up light is stylish, light weight, and full of features for an alarm clock.
I like the sunrise and sunset simulations for waking and going to sleep, however, the default of 10 minutes, seemed short. I set the wakeup time to 30 minutes.
The time display is crisp and clear and you can set the backlight brightness or turn it off.
The dual alarms can be set for individual days. In the before times, this was great for work days and weekends, but now it also functions for “in the office” and “working from home.”
Almost all of the advanced features need to be set from the connected app, which is thoughtfully designed and easy to use. I especially like the multi-hued mood lighting you can create using the app.
After the sunrise simulation time runs out, you can choose from a number of calm, natural soundtracks or a preset radio station.
Using a sunrise simulator makes getting up on dark winter mornings *much* easier and less jarring than a traditional alarm clock.

This is a sophisticated, hard-wired replacement for any outdoor floodlight if you want to add audio and video monitoring capabilities with serious intelligence that minimizes false alarms.
It can recognize people, cars, animals, and even packages! Some of these features require one of the two-tier subscriptions, but right out of the box you get some seriously smart features! Up to three hours of events recording are free, without subscription—which will let you check back on things that trigger the camera for about a week.
With subscriptions, you get much more history, but also additional intelligence, such as recognizing faces!
You can program the time the lights remain on after being triggered by an event and set the sensitivity as well. You can program the brightness level of the lights, too.
Installation is simple and straightforward if you have minimal tool skills. An intro video explains the install steps so you can see if your up to the task and then the app actually walks you through the install with simple steps and excellent illustrations. It’s good to know that you need a standard round electrical box to mount the floodlight, so plan to install one if your current setup is different.
I think the “snow” white design looks crisp and modern, but it is also designed to be painted to match your house, if you like.

I thought my old, single-basket air fryer was great because it was extra large and could handle crowd-sized meals, but this dual-basket model is better in multiple ways!
You can set each basket for its own time and temp and then let the unit synch them so they’re ready at the same time. Or, you can program one basket and then easily match the other basket to make double the amount of one food! The controls are simple and intuitive. The design is clean and modern.
The unit is large, but then, that’s the point! I thought I would put it away to save counter space, but found that I use it so much, I’m happy to leave it out all the time. It’s great for healthy recipes that use less oil, but it’s also wonderful for things like reheating pizza and other leftovers.
It comes with a nice book of recipes to get you started, but I’ve found you can search for air fryer recipes on the Web, and almost always, you can find multiple suggestions for an idea you may have.

These wireless earbuds work great for phone calls and provide decent musical quality for the price. Their long battery life is above average, as is their warranty period. (18 months! Refreshing!)
I especially like the quality of the storage/charging case. It fits neatly in your hand and has an easy, satisfyingly magnetic “click” to let you know the buds have docked properly. Once paired, (also easy!) they turn on when you remove them from the case and off when you replace them.
I found the triple-tap needed to select from the three EQ settings a little troublesome; especially because they’re in your ear, but those kinds of things bother me — your mileage may vary…
A very affordable alternative to higher priced brands.

We have a large stone fire pit, but find it smokes and annoys the people nearest and downwind. I thought this would be an improvement and it is!
You can burn smaller pieces of wood or use wood pellets - I’ve tried both with great success. The unit is great looking and easy to transport because the base fits into the top, making the overall size easy to pack and carry.
It’s simple to empty the lower portion which collects the ashes. I was hoping to leave it in place, since it’s stainless steel, but the instructions caution against leaving it in the rain. But it’s easy to move once it cools. The only caution I’d advise is the logo cutouts are quite sharp, so don’t touch them!

I was pleasantly surprised by the design of of the NutriBullet Cordless Blender. It’s easy to pack in a bag or backpack for smoothies on the go. The included cap protects the blades and the the cup has to be tightened securely for it to function - so no leaks! Blending fruit, yogurt, and liquids is fast and automatic.
I wasn’t as thrilled to find out I couldn’t use ice or frozen fruit in the blender, but for its size and price, it’s a great little gadget.

I’ve tried a number of air purifiers over the years, but I have to say, this is the best one I’ve ever had!
The Auto setting defaults to just about everything you could ask of such a device: it tests the air and runs at a level required to clean it quickly, it ionizes to remove germs during the day, it quiets down and dims its lights at nighttime, and reverts to Eco mode once the air quality is great in order to save energy - all with no adjustments on my part.
The filter is an all-in-one combo of HEPA, carbon (for smells), and anti-bacterial. It’s easy to replace and should last 6-8 months, depending on use.
Mostly, I like how quiet it is. Once the air is clean, the fan runs on low, which is practically silent. It shuts off on Eco mode, which then retests the air every ten minutes, and runs again as needed.
The ambient light is stylish and color-coded to the level of air quality. You can set the brightness to three levels or turn it off.

This is my first Arlo device, so I may be slower than familiar users, but this was an easy setup right out of the box. The camera is small, light, and unobtrusive. It comes with a mounting plate, if you want a more permanent installation on a wall or surface.
It comes with a built-in shutter “privacy” cover which is easy to open and close with the Arlo app.
Connecting to Wifi was quick and easy, and since it’s hardwired and plugged into an outlet, there’s no concern about batteries running down.
I was impressed by the wide angle field of view (130º!) and the clear sharp HD image.
This is an indoor-only camera, but that’s how I plan to use it, so it’s perfect.

The display is one of the biggest highlights for this laptop. It is incredibly crisp and the refresh rate helps make games look smooth if they can handle it. Although it could technically handle higher settings, I found myself turning it down slightly because I preferred that smoother movement over having the highest possible shadow physics (and it still looked great).
For watching videos and movies, the HD display and colors shine through beautifully.
The screen itself is quite thin which at first seemed really nice since it feels sleek and not bulky like many other gaming laptops, but then I became a bit concerned when closing the laptop and I noticed I could see it bend when I’m pulling from one corner. This doesn’t seem like it’s been an issue, but may be something worth some caution.
I found myself using a separate mouse as the trackpad is sometimes inconsistent and doesn’t pick up your initial click.
Completely the opposite of the trackpad, the keyboard is extremely responsive both for gameplay and for standard use. That said, the layout is a bit odd with the sound controls on the right side. I found myself regularly missing the enter and backspace keys, expecting them to be at the edge.
Heat dispersal is pretty good for what it is; it manages to keep the heat away from the keyboard, but can definitely heat up your lap or whatever surface you place it on while using it. Considering the power of the processor and the graphics card in this laptop, heat management is well engineered!
The battery life is not great for extended gameplay, so definitely be sure to keep the brightness down and try not to play anything too intensive if you cannot stay plugged in wherever you are.
The built in camera and microphone are both very solid.
Setup *should be* a breeze, with built-in Cortana voice prompts and speech recognition for startup. I made the mistake of attaching an external monitor before starting up for the the first time. After several hours of idling, I Googled it and found that NO peripherals should be connected at startup. This could have been noted somewhere. After my initial troubles, startup was fast and smooth!
