Lightweight and very capable.

I got this as the current Hair Dryer I had was a handme down and quite old. I got tired of dealing with it cutting off the hot air and only blowing cool air sporadically.
This thing has been great so far. I like having the various attachments to maintain my longer hair. It certainly dries my hair in a fraction of the time of the old one.
The attachments work well. The Turbo Concentrator works really well when needing to focus the heat into a smaller area to get more control.
The Comb works well and helps to smooth out my hair. Mine tends to be quite curly when it's of middling length so I can imagine this will help that for whenever I do decide to cut my hair to a shorter length.
The RapidGloss finisher takes some getting used to. I've still not quite gotten the hang of it, but of the times I have used it, it's defnitely helped to get rid of a lot of the frizz I get with my hair.
I really like how light it is. It certainly is a stark difference from my old one which was quite large and bulky. The lightness of the SpeedStyle really makes a difference if you've a lot of hair. Your hands don't get tired near as quickly and it's not at all uncomfortable to hold.
The attachments when connected to the SpeedStyle appear to have a kind of automatic control over the Speed and the level of Heat needed for each.
The air filter on the back is very easy to clean and is only a quick turn away.
Overall it's a really great Hair drying system and being able to use different attachments to accomplish different needs of different styles makes it incredibly versatile.
If you're needing something light that can work with different hairstyles, this is a safe bet for your needs.

Move a lot of air without taking up much space
on August 27, 2023

It's a fan and it blows!
I had always been skeptical of these bladeless fan systems. I always figured it too good to be true. I was definitely proven wrong. I used to keep a box fan running in my room as it gets hot with a PC build that doubles as a space heater in the Winter.
Since getting the Dyson, it's helped keep the room much much cooler, while being quieter and moving more air, not to mention it rotating while doing so.
I do like the simplicity of it and the simplictic design. The heigt of it I think really lends to it's abilities to cool as it's able to cool a great deal more than my cheap box fan. The assembly of it was quick and easy, took maybe a minute to get it assembled and powered on. I does stay on throughout the day, so it's longevity will be put to the test as I work from home and my room has poor air circulation.
I think one big benefit will be that this uses less energy I think than the box fan while accomplishing more. I've not used it any higher than the 4 setting, partly from sound, but I don't need that much when 3 or 4 are fine. It's not a big distraction like the box fan is, and is a fraction of the footprint space wise. This is much easier to position and works fine on carpet. It seems relatively easy enough to maintain when it comes to dealing with more dusty environments like mine. The filter that goes around the intake at the bottom is easy to clean with a rag. It may require blowing out with some compressed air from time to time.
I really hope it lasts me though. For all that these cost, I'd expect several years, at least 5 out of one so time will tell.
Overall I think it's great alternative to your standard box fan or raised rotating fans because they cover so much more area and move more air especially while being quieter. If you're short on space, these fans are a fantastic option.

Superb feel & response. Great for competitive use
on August 15, 2023

Where to start with the Wolverine Wolverine V2 Pro.
Compared to a stock DualSense controller, it's got some good heft to it and feels well built. It's easy to hold and the textured grip is very welcome.
I don't find my hands getting all sweaty over a longer play session. This does use the offset Analog Sticks as are found on Xbox controllers, so if you don't
like that placement, then you will want to look elsewhere.
The buttons are fantastic. I love the audible click from the Face buttons and the D-Pad. Having a mechanical switch versus a membrane will always be superior just
as on a keyboard. Better Tactile feel, response etc. The remappable buttons are great as well. Being able to set a Face button on say one of the additional
Shoulder buttons or one of the additional buttons on the underside of the controller is a welcome feature. It does take a bit of getting used to though with having
to adjust your hold with the extra buttons. Every single button has a mechanical and tactile feel to it and you feel it. Even the Touchpad has a very satisfying
feel and click when you press it.
The Analog sticks are also very nice and I like they included two additional and different sticks depending on your use case. They magnetize on and I was concerned
about this thinking that just enough force would cause them to pop off and this just isn't the case. It's as though there's a Lock on them that keeps this from
happening. I tried quite hard to get them to come off but they just stay on.
The shoulder buttons are great as well. There's toggle for each that allows you to configure them for a long or short pull, the latter if you're playing a shooter
which is of course helpful as you're not having to pull all the way on trh trigger.
Battery Life I clocked in around 8 hours between my PC and PS5. That was from a full charge. I wish this it was longer though.
Two big things I dislike though. There's no Adaptive Triggers on these. So if you're playing something like Horizon Forbidden West, Gran Turismo, God of War
or any other game that makes use of that feature, it's completely absent here. There's also no Force Feedback. From reading on this, they omitted these features
as they're not something that is a focus or need in the Competitive scene (primarily to who these types of controllers are aimed at) so I can understand the choice.
That said, the trade off of no Force Feedback and no Adaptive Triggers isn't a deal breaker, though the former is an odd choice given there's a Racing Preset
for the controller and with Racing, Force Feedback is kind of a necessity.
It's a really great and very solid built controller and the use of mechanical switches throughout provides even more benefit as they last longer than the the
typical membrane interface.
The app I think is a bit cumbersome to use as you need to put the controller in pairing mode to adjust any controls. I was also confused at the lack of support
within Razer's Synapse Software. I would think that when you connect the controller it would allow you to remap buttons there, but there is no such feature.
It seems odd there's no native support for their own controller in their own application on Windows PC's. It would be nice when using it on PC, it would allow
you to map any key to any button, but sadly you can't. This could be a deal breaker for some, especially when dropping so much on a controller.
Overall, it's a great controller. There are other options out there of course, but most of those are just modified DualSense controllers, not one built from the
ground up.

Decent enough 1080P performance but not much more.
on July 30, 2023

In the hours I've put in testing this laptop, it's pretty nice and performs well given the internals.
Looks wise, it's a nice laptop, certainly carries the gamer aesthetic. It's quite large though. I'd expect a system of this size and weight to have some higher tier components, i7 with at least a 3070 or 4060.
There's plenty of input's and outputs. There's a Type C and HDMI on the rear. 3 USB 3 Type A ports, 2 on right, 1 on left. There Ethernet port on the left as well. The AC adapter connects on the rear, which I personally prefer as it means less cables coming out of the sides.
Performance side of things. I was rather impressed with it. I know it's not a new game or anything that's cutting edge, but I tested out Horizon Zero Dawn and was rather blown away. You can, without DLSS get 60 FPS in that game on Ultra Settings. That's quite the accomplishment, especially given this is a 4GB card and it was exceeding the frame buffer by around 300-400MB of VRAM.
I did also test with DLSS and got an uplift to an average of 75FPS from the 61FPS Average in the benchmark.
I was going to test a new game that recently went to Early Access on Steam called Forever Skies but for some reason the Benchmark option doesn't work.
Given this only using a 3050 Ti, most modern titles are going to be a Medium or Low settings in the majority of them with DLSS, especially given the 4GB of VRAM. Looking at some comparisons of the 3050 Ti to other cards, it fairs fine at normal/med. Once you get to high, it quickly starts to fall behind at 1080p. It's roughly 5-10% slower than a 3060. At High Settings, that changes to around an addition 10-60 FPS depending on the game. The 4060 is about twice as fast as the 3050 Ti in nearly everything.
Battery life I'd say is ok. I tested watching a Youtube stream at 1080P60 and an hour, it was down to 75%. So just watching videos, you're looking at maybe 3-3.5 hours run time. Gaming that's gonna be even less depending on what you're playing. With the size and heft of this laptop, a bigger battery would have been welcome.
I appreciate that ACER didn't skimp on the drive. It's a great TLC based drive that's quick. Measured over 6500 Reads and 3500 Writes. Nothing to sneeze at. This is also a Gen 4 drive. They even included an adapter to install a secondary 2.5" drive in the box with the accessories.
The screen is Matte and I personally perfer those over others. I've got a work laptop that has a glass 4k touch display and it picks up every single reflection in the known universe. The Acer has great reflection handling. It doesn't get crazy bright, but enough for comfortable gaming in a darker environment. It's 1080p at 144hz which is certainly welcome. I used a different gaming laptop that had a slightly higher resolution, but it was a 75hz panel and that's just not acceptable especially with how expensive that one was.
The Keyboard is backlit with red lighting. There's also a 10-key which is always welcome. It's not bad to type on or use, but certainly cannot replace a dedicated external keyboard.
The cooling can get noisy. It wasn't very distracting but I was wearing some open back headphones which certainly let's sounds in. Just to see the loudness, I set the fans to spin at max in the NitroSense app. These things crank to around 7500 RPM at maximum speed, there's also two, 1 for the CPU and 1 for the GPU. It doesn't take long for them to bring temps down. Leaving it on auto is advised. If you're going to run them at max, you're going to headphones to tune it out.
With all this in mind, I'd be hard pressed to recommend it at it's retail price. You can do much better for the same price with better GPU's and CPU's. There's some around this price point with 4060's and those are significantly better performing than the 3050 Ti.

The new, redesigned Revolve60 packs enough USB-C power to charge a full-size laptop. Nowadays, most smartphones need up to 30 watts and most laptops require a minimum of 45 watts with Power Delivery (PD). Yet most surge protectors with USB-C offer only 20 watts or less. The new Revolve60 kicks out a full 60 watts of PD-enabled charging through dual USB-C ports. Armed with super conducting Gallium Nitride (GaN), Revolve60 achieves high wattages safely and more efficiently than standard silicon. For added capability, four industry-exclusive rotating outlets help you customize your setup and guard your tech against power surges and spikes.

Great option for expanding outlets.
on July 5, 2023

Install was easy. Just had to remove screw on the plate and then put it on and screw it in to place. The convenience of having the 2 Type C connectors is fantastic. This is behind my night stand next to my bed, so having the convenience of the ports and not needing a separate charger is a big win there.
I also like the ability of being able to rotate the outlets. I'm currently using all the ports. Prior i used the 2 outlets, one had a power strip connected. I do like that this also tells if the outlets are grounded as well. The fact it also offers surge protect gives me some peace of mind as I have my CPAP plugged in to it and it was by no means cheap.
I think I would like one that offers 5 or 6 outlets though. Still, having the 2 Type C ports goes a long way in reducing the need to have multiple chargers connected. Both offer up to 60W, but will only work at 30 if to devices are connected. I can say that it supports Fast Chraging, though it doesn't support Super Fast charging for Samsung Devices despite testing with various capable cables. Though Fast charging is plenty quick for most people.
For the price and the features, it's well worth the investment.

Nice slim laptop with power for fun and work
on June 20, 2023
Posted by: Saitzev
So to start, the presentation is very nice. The company I work for uses the Dell Precisions and the packaging is exactly the same and the packaging they and these XPS systems come in is top notch. There's plenty of consideration taken with the packaging that the box the Laptop comes inside and even the box it ships inside of as well.
That out of the way. The laptop itself is very nice. It looks identical to my work laptop and the only difference there is screen and the chassis color. Spec wise it's pretty nice. For the entry price though, I'd expect more. The retail on these is $2000. That's a good chunk of change to drop on a laptop. We've got a 1TB NVME drive of the Gen 4 variety. I tested with CrystalDiskMark and Atto and saw reads as high as nearly 7000MB/s. Writes were around 5500MB/s.
We've got good i7-13700H with plenty of cores for chewing up anything needing to utilize them. We've 16GB of DDR5.
The low point i find is the GPU. As I mentioned with the price, a 4050, notably only a 6GB variant feels a very poor choice. I've tested and used other laptops with significantly stronger GPU's for a much lower or identical price point. The only game I did get time to test was Diablo IV. With the settings on med/high, at 1080p with DLSS on, I was averaging 60ish FPS locked nearly the entire time. I'd imagine the card is a bit more capable. I wanted to test something like Cyberpunk as it's significantly more demanding but just didn't have the time.
The other con here is going to be the Display. It's rated at 500 Nits, lacks HDR surprisingly which is a very odd choice but most importantly, it is only a 60hz panel. I find this to be a very disappointing aspect of the system. High hertz panels are a dime a dozen now it's getting more and more common to see systems with at least 120hz or greater. That would make this machine a real champ. If you've ever experienced gaming or productivity on something higher than 60hz, you'll understand the significance of having the greater refresh rate.
Battery life I'll have to take Dell's word. I know with my work laptop it lasts several hours and that has an i9, 32gb RAM and 8GB A2000 GPU. The batteries I imagine are identical given the laptops are the exact same dimensions.
I appreciate that dell includes and adapter with these like they include with the Precisions that allow you to connect up a standard USB Type A device and an external display or projector. There is a limitation here and that is the same issue I ran in to with the Precision. For some reason unbeknownst to me, Dell has opted to have external displays controlled by the integrated GPU, thus limiting the output to only 60hz at any resolution if using HDMI. If you have a Dock that supports HDMI 2.1 or has DP it may be possible to get a higher refresh rate. I however was unable to do this on my Precision. To me it's absolutely astonishing that this is something some System Integrators are still doing. If the ports were controlled by the dedicated Graphics Card, permitting they are so equipped, this would be a non-issue. I did test this with my Dell Dock from work over HDMI and it wouldn't even go higher than 60hz regardless the resolution I chose. Time will tell if this ever changes.
Overall, it's really great laptop with an excellent form factor, but it's really hampered by the price and the rather limited GPU. The XPS still has that quality feel and build that has been a notable thing with the line for forever. I just don't think that a starting of nearly $2k is something I'd recommend over countless other options.

Peace of mind in case of power loss.
on May 24, 2023
Posted by: Saitzev
Reviews for these are very difficult to provide especially when the products time to shine is when you're needing to lose power.
I do have an older APC model battery backup I got 2 or so years ago and is still running strong today. It's essentially why I opted for a second one from the brand.
Since I started working from home due to my job having the flexibility of being in office or in the comfort of my own home, I wanted something that would be there should my power go out and at least keep me going for a while. Since I work of a laptop, this product makes the most sense and offers plenty of connections to include my Laptop, Docking station and Monitor.
I've not been able to take advantage of it yet as we've not had any power related issues since before I did receive the product. That said, I don't foresee any issues as the one I've been using specifically goes to my Network devices so that I'm not losing internet access. The one thing I do like over my current one though is this model has a much slimmer design, though it is slightly longer. This model also features the ability to pass my Ethernet through it in case anything comes in through the coax and doesn't take out anything past the modem itself. I may switch the Battery Backups duties for that reason alone.
When it comes down to it, there's not many companies out there that I trust for protecting my electronics. Nearly everything I have is APC branded. Thankfully I've never had to make a claim for anything being taken out during a surge, but I'm sure that if/when that time comes, APC will be around to help.

Good price, well built, easyish enough to use.
on May 15, 2023
Posted by: Saitzev
I received the sous vide this past week and was anxious to see to use it. After opening the package I was impressed to see how nice and secure it was packed.
Upon opening the box I surprised to see that there was only a small instruction pamphlet to get you started. It didn't help much. There was nothing to tell you what to set the temperature and cook time to.
What is needed is much more information on temperature settings and time. It's very inconvenient If you have to go on your main computer and go to the manufacturer's website to get everything you need. It would be nice to have at least some actual instructions with recommendations for temps and time for cooking. It would have also been nice to see some included recipes to try with the product. Many companies include things like this to give you a starting point with learning to use the device.
It is nicely made and feels very well constructed. It's easy to clean as well.
Not having a reference or detailed instructions made cooking the first time not very successful and resulted in the meat being very dry. Overall with practice and more research it will be easier to use, but I think one of the biggest deal breakers is there not being any useful documentation in the box, especially if you've never used a Sous Vide before and being relegated to having to use the website is unfortunate. Even having something like a QR code to scan with your phone and download an app or open a manual would have been so much better.

Convenient but not that comfortable.
on May 8, 2023
Posted by: Saitzev
In trying out and evaluating the Torras I did find the it was rather on the heavy side. It is not adjustable for varying neck sizes which could be a deal breaker for many. Having some softer material in construction would go a long ways in the product being much more comfortable, especially for longer periods of use.
.
It did take quite a while to charge 100%. With having to wait so long and it having only so long of a run time, it's really hard to recommend.
It does run a delightful cool breeze and does get stronger with increments. Heat was not as comfortable.
One caveat with the higher modes is the noise it generates. Those little fans get quite loud. It would be recommended to use some headphones or something with it cause it's very distracting. the lowest setting isn't invasive at all, but the highest setting will make you want to take it off after a couple minutes.
It does come with a nice carrying case that is well made.
The instructions are rather poorly written and not very detailed and in tiny print.
All in all I it's weight is cumbersome and charging is too lengthy. It is at least for the most part portable. Due to it's size, lack of adjustability and being noisy at higher volumes, it just doesn't come across as something I'd recommend.

Incredible sound from a small footprint
on May 2, 2023
Posted by: Saitzev
This little speaker has done nothing but surprise me and blow me away with it's quality.
It's been around a week since I got this little guy and I continue to be surprised with the music and other content I've played from it.
I've listened to EDM, Rock, R&B and Hip Hop and it's done nothing but impress me every time.
Some of the songs I've listened to I had to stop and play back again because I was hearing things I never heard or caught before. That says a lot given I have a DAC, Amp and Several hundred dollar headphones I use on a daily basis that have been warmed up since I received them around 6 or 7 months ago. Those headphones are geared toward accurate reproduction and sound how it was mastered. For this speaker to go over and above that is nothing short of remarkable. My setup isn't quite as expensive in totality as this speaker alone is, but it definitely stretches far and above products more expensive.
All that said, the speaker is divine. If you've got the pockets to get one, it's an investment for sure, but I'd say it's money well spent if you care about how your music sounds.
It does charge quite fast and I really appreciate that Devialet included a Super Fast charging USB C to USB C adapter and that the speaker itself uses USB C. It took a couple hours for it to full charge when I had it down to zero.
The app you can download is super easy to use and has a built in EQ that you can adjust for Bass and Treble. There's only 2 sliders so you can't fine tune for things like the Mid's, or I just haven't found the option yet. I really like the clean presentation of the app as well.
I look forward to hopefully many years of enjoyment with this speaker as I'm going to use it almost every moment I have a chance. Now I just wish I could reason acquiring it's bigger brother, but I don't quite have a feasible use case for something that large.

Unlock a world of crypto possibilities with the Ledger Nano S. The world’s most popular hardware wallet to securely start your crypto journey. Buy, secure, exchange, grow and manage your favorite crypto assets.

Does this wallet support Dogecoin?

It certainly does. You can buy, swap or send and receive Dogecoin on the Nano. You do all this from the Ledger Live app either on PC or your mobile device. I'd recommend doing so from the PC as connecting it to your phone would require you to use an adapter since it uses the antiquated Micro-USB connection.

If you need to know about other coins, you can visit the Ledger website and click on Crypto Assets and from there search to see what it supported.

Stream your favorite tunes from media servers, PCs and smart devices with this Yamaha sound bar. The built-in Alexa voice control lets you decide how your favorite content should play, and the preset modes provide different surround sound effects for your listening pleasure. Featuring clear voice technology, this Yamaha sound bar ensures clear dialog so you can keep up with critical scenes or plot twists.

can i use this remote only and not have to go to a different one?

If you're meaning whether or not you have to use the included remote, then yes, you don't have to use any other. If you mean if you can use a 3rd party universal remote, that would be something you would probably have to reach out to Yamaha or the manufacturer of the remote for.

Also keep in mind you can use your phone as a remote with the Sound Bar app. It's called Sound Bar Controller and it's made by Yamaha. You can also use Alexa to control it as well.

Acer Nitro 5 Laptop: Lose yourself in the absorbing multimedia experience delivered by this Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop. The Intel Core i5 processor ensures a lag-free performance, and the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card delivers immersive visuals on the 15.6-inch Full HD display. This Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop has 8GB of RAM for seamless multitasking.

Do you know the average fps on high setting on high quality games.

Performance is of course going to vary from game to game especially when you consider the settings people use. I've attached my benchmark report from AC:Odyssey. This would be a killer unit if the GPU was a 1650 instead of the paltry 1050. As you can see at 1080 it just barely holds on to 30 fps at mostly medium. Further tweaking and you can probably get that closer to 35-40.

I bought this laptop with 256gb a month ago. Can I add extra 2.5 Internal HDD or SDD in it?

You certainly can. It's got expansion for another M.2 drive as well as a standard 2.5" Mechanical or SSD drive. If you want to expand the SSD storage I'd recommend looking at the Corsair MP510 series. They're cheap, fast, have a 5yr warranty and will probably outlive you lol. They have the highest endurance of any drives currently on the market, enterprise sector aside.

See who's at the door on your smartphone with this SkyBell Trim Plus home-security doorbell. It sends HD video and two-way audio and can detect and record a visitor's presence via live monitoring and a motion sensor. This rugged SkyBell Trim Plus home-security doorbell has full-color night vision and withstands inclement weather.

Does it come with the angle mount?

It does not sadly. You'll have to buy them. They're $10 per wedge at their website. You'll have to use theirs though, I bought some off Amazon and the SkyBell does not fit on them. They secure points or too close together which makes it impossible to use with them. Sadly I had to eat the cost cause it would have cost me more to send them back than I did paying for them.

How many USB ports does it have

Sadly it doesn't have any. I was hoping it might have had even just 2 USB 2.0 ports but it doesn't even have that.

Does this monitor rotate to be used in portrait mode?

You sure can rotate it. It might not seem like with how high the stand extends, but it is enough with some room left if you have anything beneath the screen itself.

The ambient lighting only displays from the middle one below the logo, how do i make it display from all of them?

The lighting is only along the bottom center strip, the Green you're seeing go out along the sides is merely accenting trim. It would have been nice to see either just the single bit being green instead of all along the bottom or just extend it but that just doesn't happen to be the case here.

It's still quite bright and doesn't really seem invasive. You can adjust the lighting option in the OSD though from either Off, On or Breathing.

Enjoy interactive streaming with this Google Nest Hub. With the built-in Google Assistant, you can view your calendar, receive alerts and reminders, and control devices from the single dashboard, and voice control lets you access other smart features. This Google Nest Hub lets you listen to music from Spotify and Pandora and view YouTube content. "

Can this be used with your phone to make video calls? Using Duo App?

It cannot :( as it lacks a Camera. There may be 3rd Party models that include one, but the one from Google does not have this capability. I attached a photo of mine, pardon the grainyness, but at the top you can see a small oval, this is an Ambient Light sensor to adjust the screen brightness. There's 2 mics flanking the Sensor to it's sides.

I imagine in the next revision we may get a Camera though.
