Good But Not Great
on November 9, 2020

I really wanted to love this vacuum, but it is lacking for me a little bit. Let me first say though, I am confident it does what it promises in terms of picking up a lot of pet hair and dust. I tried this vacuum on my tile floors, carpet, and two rugs. I had mixed results.
First off, I get it, this is supposed to be a lightweight vacuum. Problem is, it’s top heavy. I know that’s common with stick vacuums, but it is especially noticeable with this one. With the filter and battery at the top combined with an exceptionally lightweight vacuum head, I found it tough to maneuver. You need a little bit of weight in the vacuum head so that it can effectively vacuum carpet. What ends up happening with this Samsung is when I go over carpet (or especially my rugs), it becomes HARD to push. I hate vacuuming to begin with and don’t want that much of a workout when I’m doing it! I want it to be quick, easy, and effective. I found I couldn’t even use the highest vacuum setting on my rugs because I could barely move it AND it drained the battery.
Like I said, this thing sucks stuff up like crazy, so that’s why I didn’t take more stars off. I just think the bottom half should have a little more weight so that it’s easier to push across carpet. I also was excited about the mini attachment for using on my stairs. No cord and a mini head seemed perfect! The problem again though is the lack of weight of the vacuum. It was hard to push across the stairs and didn’t pick up as much dog fur as I would have hoped.
Overall, this is a good little vacuum but if you have a lot of carpet, this might be a bit frustrating to use. I use it downstairs where I have mostly tile floors and like it for that. Plus, it does work on carpets and pick up quite a bit, it's just a bit of extra work.

Nostalgic and Fun

I used to love the old polaroid cameras where they instantly printed out a picture which then developed in front of you. My grandparents had one when I was a kid and we used to take goofy pictures of each other or use it during the holidays. I'm a millennial, kind of right in that middle group of loving new technology but also liking some of the older stuff out there. This camera hits right in the middle of that for me!
There is of course an accompanying app, and I do love that you can also print pictures on the camera from photos on your phone. Kind of a cool bonus. The picture quality is pretty low, which is a little surprising to me, given how good cameras are in general these days (including on phones). However, the price point for this item is a little lower, so I suppose that does make sense. The pictures themselves are small, 2" x3", but I love the sticker paper. It gives you all sorts of options for how to use the pictures.
This was fun to use and a bit of a throwback for me. I also think it would make a super fun gift for kids. Easy to use and the app is fairly user friendly, so I'd say give it a try!

Replaces 2 Items in my Kitchen!
on October 15, 2020

from Sacramento
First off, if you're installing this product (instead of placing it on the counter), unless you know exactly what you're doing, hire a professional. This product weighs about 37 pounds, so it is not light and you don't want to mess around with it if you don't know what you're doing. I bought the optional trim kit (NN-TK81KCS) and had my handyman install it for me. I love that this replaces my microwave AND my toaster oven. I don't have the biggest kitchen, so the space savings is huge for me.
So far, I've used the microwave function, air fried vegetables (asparagus and green beans - a healthier way to do tempura veggies), and the broiler to finish off some french onion soup. I found everything to work as I expected. The settings are super easy to understand to change functions from the microwave, to the fryer, etc.
Did I mention how many other appliances this can replace? I love that I can bake and broil in it and not have to heat up my big oven. Plus, I can get rid of my standalone airfryer. Everything worked as expected, and since I got it installed in my kitchen, I'm saving a ton of counter space. Highly recommend!

Sound Quality You Expect
on October 15, 2020
Posted by: glspark2007
from Sacramento
The first thing I think is important to note with this product is the sound quality they offer is what you expect to get when you purchase a Bose product. I was actually pleasantly surprised at the richness and overall quality. I've had a number of Bose speakers and headphones and so have certain expectations for what you'll get from them in terms of sound. These sunglasses met those expectations.
All of that being said, I do think this is a bit of a niche product. I am very selective about my sunglasses, the way the look on me, the way they fit, and it's a hard product to buy without first trying them on. This particular pair fits fairly comfortably on me, but they feel different from what I normally wear and will take some getting used to. The good news is, there are a number of styles offered to give you options when picking a pair. If you find a style that suits you, then I say go for it because the sound quality is there and these are pretty fun to wear!

Comparing to the Mac Norm
on September 24, 2020
Posted by: glspark2007
from Sacramento
Ok, the standard Mac desktop comes with a very particular mouse. That's what I've always used with my Mac since getting it. I have other computers and use other mice but when it comes to my Mac, that's always been it. I have a lilttle bit of mixed feelings about this.
This is a good mouse and has great functionality. Logitech really never fails there in my opinion. It also feels very comfortable in my hand much more so than the standard Mac mouse, which has always been my biggest complaint about it. However, I love the touch and swipe ability that it offers compared to the Logitech (or any other mouse for that matter). The Logitech offers similar features/functions that substitute for that, but it's just not quite the same.
All of this to say, this is a solid, well-functioning mouse. However, if you're used to a particular feel/style/function when using a Mac, this may take some getting used to. The Logitech still has a sleek, clean look and feel and sacrifices nothing in terms of quality...it just feels and works differently. Totally worth buying but in my opinion, also something to consider if you're used to a particular feel when using a Mac.

Pretty good bang for your buck
on September 14, 2020

I won’t beat around the bush and say this isn’t an expensive product (hopefully you followed that double negative ok). It’s one of the more expensive robot vacuums I’ve seen. And if it was only a robot vacuum, the price might be a little steep. However, when you consider that this is a robot vacuum and a robot mop along with some of it’s features, such as the auto empty station and smart mapping, well then the price gets a whole lot more reasonable.
One of my biggest frustrations with robot vacuums is how often I have to empty them. I have a dog who sheds like crazy, so I ran my robot vacuum daily to try to keep up. With my previous vacuum, I was lucky if I only had to empty it every other day. So, this is a vast improvement, I usually empty one to two times a week now. The mapping option is pretty awesome too. My previous robot vacuum bounced around the house and usually got to most places. Somehow some places always seem to get missed though. Mapping eliminates that issue.
Prior to the Deebot, I did also have a robot mop. It was super simple, but did a decent job for what it was. However, I had to set it up separately from my vacuum and it had a removable battery that needed to be charged (instead of a charging station). I love having everything all in one system, especially since I have all tile floors downstairs.
Now I will say, I don’t think think this is the absolute best robot vacuum I’ve ever had. I’ve had others with more powerful heads and suction that I think gave carpets and rugs a little bit deeper clean. That’s why I took one star off. However, the convenience and features of the Deebot still make for a great product, especially if it will be used mostly on hard floors.

Go Ninja, Go Ninja, Go!

In case you couldn’t tell from the title of this review, I’m a Ninja fan. And if you didn’t catch the 90s reference to Vanilla Ice and the Ninja Turtles, check it out, it’s awesome and hilarious!
But onto the actual Ninja product. I already have a Ninja Blender/Food processor/Spiralizer and a Ninja coffee maker…so I am familiar with their products. I’m also trying to eat healthier and having smoothies/protein shakes is a helpful way to fill you up and get lots of good stuff. The Ninja Foodie is a throwback to some other products out there…except this one actually works. It’s got some power behind it and pulverizes the contents for a super smooth drink. I haven’t used it for smoothie bowls (not really my thing), but I have no doubts that it will work perfectly for that as well.
There isn’t really “set-up”, you fill the cup, put on the top, and go. Clean-up is super easy though, I just toss it all in the dishwasher and call it a day. Love this product and use it daily!

Love a Latte!

Right off the bat, yes, this is a pricier machine. However, if you’re someone who loves and appreciates good quality coffee, this is a great purchase. It’s important to note that if you’re going to use a quality machine, you should put in a quality product. The place to skimp is NOT on cheap espresso/coffee. I did try both just to see how they compared. Since the Breville works very well, even average espresso was pretty good. However, for a truly memorable cup, go the extra mile and buy some good espresso (you won’t even miss coffee house coffee if you do).
Set up of the Breville was simple and I was up and running very quickly. Making espresso is not the same as brewing a regular cup of coffee. It takes some practice and finessing to get it just right so have some patience if things aren’t exactly what you expect right away.
This is a very sleek espresso machine and it runs smoothly. If you’re looking to improve on your own coffee and save some money in the long run (versus going to a coffee shop every day), this is a great way to go!

Comfortable and High Quality
on August 20, 2020
Posted by: glspark2007

These are by far the nicest set of gaming headphones I’ve owned. The are well-made, super comfortable, and have great sound quality. I feel like I can wear them for a number of hours and would have any discomfort. They have memory foam in the ear pads and are super soft. I don’t feel any pressure on my head or ears but they still are snug and feel secure.
Sound quality is also on point. At least in my experience, most gaming headsets can’t match up with higher quality headphones. These actually come pretty close and really help enhance gaming. I found that people can hear me when I speak into the microphone very clearly and haven’t experienced any problems with them.
Look no further for quality gaming headphones.

Budget Friendly
on August 20, 2020
Posted by: glspark2007
from Sacramento
There are a lot of security systems out there that will put a big dent in your pocket. However, from that you expect both high quality video and product.
I have mixed feelings about the Night Owl system. On the one hand and as others have said, this is definitely a budget friendly system. Four cameras at this price point is almost unheard of. However, I also live in California where it is very hot (we’re currently in a streak of 14 100+ days), and I worry about how the plastic cameras will hold up over time. Obviously it doesn’t get as cold here, but I could see that being a concern in some areas as well.
Set-up is fairly straightforward. I already had pre-drilled holes from a previous system, otherwise I would have needed a handyman (that is not my strong suit!) Overall, if you’re looking for a little extra security but don’t have a huge budget, this isn’t a bad choice. It does what it promises, but I am concerned about how well it will hold up long term. With that in mind, I give it a cautious thumbs up and would recommend it.

Can the iPhone charge in the landscape position?

No, it has to be upright in the portrait position. It doesn't work in landscape, and the phone bumps into the charging location for the Apple Watch when in landscape anyway.
