Great game controller. It's very responsive and makes it much easier to play combat games on the PC. Plugged in and worked right away.

this little dude gobbles up pet hair!

First caveat -- I'm not gonna drop my rating because of the app. I'll talk about that later, but I'm focusing on it's actual function. Here's my experience with the robot so far. I'm personifying him a bit because of the way he thoughtfully finds his way around a cluttered room. We have two big dogs and hardwood floors, and we have rugs and runners, so we have dog hair that collects along the walls and in the corners. Also my office is fairly cluttered with chairs and cords on the floor.
I was really eager to play with this; it was up and running right away for some test runs. At first it was really clumsy, bumping into things, changing direction, missing spots, but it was fun to watch and it really sucked up stuff right away. I let it fully charge before trying it again. It picked its way around the house. It had trouble with some of our cheap runners, they got tangled up. Half the time the robot was able to untangle itself, other times it called for help. However, I don't know if this is real or if I'm imagining it, but it seemed to learn. After getting hung up on the runners a half dozen times, it figured out a way to get onto the runners and vacuum them without getting tangled. I'm totally amazed that it doesn't get tangled on power cords, but that hasn't been an issue at all. I'm also learning how to unclutter my house...
So -- it takes care of those drifts of dog hair in the corners and along the baseboards. It even goes under chairs. Sometimes it pushes the dining chairs around, but that's okay. The canister does fill up, but I'm sure that will reduce as it gets used more frequently since there will be less to pick up. I'm amazed at how much it can suck up out of the livingroom rugs. Get it for that vacuum power and for the convenience of letting it run and keep your floor clean.
As for the app -- it was a pain for me to connect it. I use a Google Pixel, and the app just wouldn't connect to the vacuum reliably. I had to keep logging into the app with my Samsung username and password. I finally got the vacuum connected using my Samsung tablet. My phone now shows the vacuum but says it's disconnected. but the vacuum does send alarms to my phone when it gets stuck or when I pick it up. The Wi-Fi functionality is frustrating.
Overall, this thing is awesome and I'm looking forward to using it long term.

Add stability to your home network with the Amped Wireless HELIOS-EX Wi-Fi Extender. With DirectLink technology, it avoids signal loss by adding another 5GHz Wi-Fi channel to the standard setup, which it then uses strictly for receiving signal from the source. This Amped Wireless HELIOS-EX Wi-Fi Extender covers an area of up to 12,000 sq. ft. and includes four Gigabit network ports.

Wow. Impressive performance

I thought my current router was pretty awesome. I just thought I had to live with 3 bars of wifi signal in the workshop, which is in the far corner of my basement. I got this extender so that I could have better signal in the garage and backyard getting ready for summer outdoor fun. This extender gives me full signal everywhere -- garage, yard, basement, workshop, everywhere. Really impressive. It was quick and easy to setup. My devices with AC connectivity have all moved over to the superior signal of the extender!

Replace the keyboard of your Microsoft Surface Pro 7, 6, 5 or 4 with this silver Brydge keyboard. It conveniently lets you open the screen at your preferred viewing angle without a kickstand, and its backlit keys increase visibility in low light working environments. This Brydge keyboard is lightweight, so it doesn't add extra bulk to your device.

My surface pro 3 is better than new!
on May 16, 2017

My surface pro 3 hasn't really been my go-to laptop. It has great performance, but the type cover wasn't as useful as I hoped. In reality, the type cover requires a firm surface for it to be useful. I got this Brydge keyboard for it, and now it is really a viable notebook. This keyboard is substantial; it has a good amount of weight, the keys are a good size, and the key action is really good. The backlight keyboard is a great bonus. Now I have way better performance, while keeping portability and versatility.
The keyboard was really easy to attach and connect. It has rubber feet on the bottom so it doesn't slide around on the table. The hinges are firm and allow it to be at any angle. I can actually use it on my lap. This is highly recommended.

Compact, good sound
on May 8, 2017

The subwoofer is really compact and easy to place. The wireless connection to the subwoofer is a great feature, so you can put the subwoofer just about anywhere in the room. The speaker bar is a good size for a smaller TV, but it does not have any way to mount it to the wall.
The wiring is minimal -- just a power cord and input cable for the speaker bar, and just a power cord for the subwoofer, so it is easy to keep your cables neat. It comes with a fiber-optic cable for optical connections! It only has inputs for optical, headphone jack, and USB for a storage device or MP3 player. The remote control includes navigation buttons for your USB device, but I didn't test it for function.
As far as the sound goes -- it is way better than the built-in speakers of the TV. The sound is really crisp and clear, but it doesn't have the punch I'd expect from a powered subwoofer. There's a separate vol control for the subwoofer, but when you crank it up it just gets muddy. I'd say that the sound would be great for a bedroom or if you're in an apartment because I don't think it'll be too much of a problem with your neighbors.
I'm a little surprised that it doesn't have Bravia synch. My TV is a Sony, but the TV remote does not work on the sound bar. I was able to program the soundbar remote code into my cable box remote, so that's a plus. It also doesn't turn itself on or off along with the TV like my other audio systems do.
So -- I think it's a really high quality system, it's just missing the punch and a bunch of features that I'd expect. Seems high-priced for the sound and features you get.

Not 100% compatible, but I got it anyway

I got this for my Samsung Galaxy Tab S3, even though I couldn't confirm functionality. It does supply power and drive a mouse and keyboard, which comes in handy. It doesn't drive video for my tablet. It works on my Dell XPS 13 2 - in - 1 directly, but does not provide power, and is not compatible with my KVM.
So -- it works for normal use on a Windows laptop if you don't need to charge it.

Quick change versatile

Posted by: Snarltoof

I've been using this laptop for about a week; I wanted to really get comfortable with it before posting a review.
The fit and finish are fantastic. It looks great and feels solid. It does take a little force to pry it open when the lid is shut, but the convenience is worth it; no latch to worry about. It is really thin and light. I think it's as thin but lighter than my Surface Book when I have the keyboard detached.
It is actually viable as a tablet when you bend the lid to the back. That's where the light weight really gives it an advantage over other laptops of this type. It's great to have this flexibility during actual use. It does great at meetings or in front of the TV. I would like to try the pen at some point. I tried using the active pen when I had a Dell Venue 8, but that really didn't behave very well. The active stylus I have with my Surface Book is awesome, so I have high hopes for my new Dell. It would have been nice if that pen were included.
Performance-wise, the video is gorgeous. The video adapter doesn't have enough power for adventure games at high quality, but I can run Skyrim and Assassin's Creed at low quality. It runs Office apps solidly and can handle huge documents and spreadsheets with ease. It isn't as powerful as my Surface Book, but it's also half the price.
There was an issue where it didn't go to sleep properly, so it drained the battery when it wasn't in use. I hear that there was a patch for that, so I went to the Dell site and updated all of the drivers and firmware.
Now there's a sporadic squeal popping from the speakers. Seems to happen when I spike the usage, like opening web pages that have auto-running sound or video, when I switch apps, or when I minimize big spreadsheets, but I really can't duplicate the problem. Haven't called Dell yet to troubleshoot. I'll comment on this review when I learn more.

The ideal vacuum
on March 22, 2017
Posted by: Snarltoof
from Minneapolis, MN
Even though it is small and light, this vacuum is really powerful and versatile enough to take the place of a full-sized upright, if you don't mind dumping it often.
And you will dump it often. It pulls up more dirt than you'd expect, and it has a pretty small capacity.
This thing really picks up pet hair. I'm surprised by how much it can pull out of a rug, and the upholstery attachment actually pulls dog hair from my microfiber couch.
There's two settings, normal and MAX. The normal setting works great in general. When you switch it to MAX, it can pick up big messes, like a pile of sawdust.
It felt pretty foreign when I was first putting it together, but with patience and following the illustrations in the instructions, I was able to assemble it and use it right away. Well, they do recommend charging it before the first use, and it needs it.
It took a little practice to get used to the amount of force needed to eject the dust collector, but now it's really simple. Like I said, it doesn't have much capacity, and since it's so effective, you'll be dumping it very often.
One weird thing. The connector for the charging cable is on the back surface of the handle. The air in my house is really dry this time of year, so I get minor shocks when my skin contacts the charging port on the vacuum.
Otherwise, it's a great vacuum. It can replace my other upright, since I think its convenience is worth having to dump it often.

It works well

I've used wired headsets like these for years. This is a pretty good one. The mic boom is flexible as well as rotating, so you can position the mic exactly where you want it. The sound is good, and the mic is efficient. People can hear me very well. The mute switch is handy, although I'd make it more intuitive. Green means talk and Red means mute.
The headband has a weird shape and is a little uncomfortable. It is curved across the top, so when you slide it to make it bigger, it actually digs into the side of your head.
There's lots worse out there. The strong points of this one are the mic and flexible boom.

They got it right!

I've been using tablets for years, including my first Galaxy Tab 7" tablet, a variety of Acer and Asus tablets, a Surface, and Surface Book. I've also been a fan of the Samsung Galaxy phones, having a 3, 4, and a 5.
When I first got this S3 tablet, I was expecting to get decent tablet performance. What I got was a powerhouse in an elegant, extremely light weight package. The size is great -- it's way more portable than my Surface devices, and the type cover gives it a good amount of protection.
Great job on the type cover, guys! The magnet attachment and the tilted viewing angle are great. It would be awesome if the type cover had a hole for the rear camera. A couple of other minor keyboard quirks; the tablet only accepts the keyboard if the tablet is unlocked when you attach it. I was also hoping for an android button on the type cover but couldn't find it at first. I read the instructions (under settings/physical keyboard/keyboard shortcuts) and it shows a "super" button that supports all the commands I'd want to use for an Android keyboard. After hunting around, I figured out that the "search" button on the keyboard, with the magnifying glass icon, is this "super" button. Now my hands don't need to leave the keyboard. The keys are a fairly natural size, not too cramped for my very large hands, They didn't bother making a touchpad on the keyboard like you see on some other compact keyboards. Good move!
I'm going to experiment with USB C video adapters to see how it performs as a "desktop" replacement, but I'm really optimistic given how it performs normally. I have a USB C to USB 3 adapter, and it picks up my keyboard and mouse just fine, even through a KVM.
I've been using a Google Pixel phone for a while, so I lost practice with how Samsung does stuff, so it's a bit different to navigate. Not too bad, and this thing does way more and has way more features than I've explored so far.
It connected to my Wi-Fi network easily, has great web page load times, installs apps quickly, and Zen Pinball is super responsive on this.
It feels really light, so it is very easy to hold. It does great as a Kindle reader, although the screen is a bit shiny. They keyboard/case pops off easily but holds securely when it's attached either as a case or as a keyboard.
I was really excited to try it out, so I used it for two days before charging it. I let it run down to 15%, and it was still happily playing pinball. It supports quick charging, so it was back up to 40% in about 15 minutes.
It's pricey, but you get what you pay for. It's an awesome tablet.

I've been using this tablet for a month now. Still five stars. The performance is fantastic, the battery capacity is awesome, the tablet is lightweight and easy to handle, and the keyboard case pops on and off really conveniently. It is awesome that it comes with the pen.
If Samsung is out there reading this -- you gotta come up with a dock or keyboard/mouse/video/Ethernet adapter for it! This thing is a powerhouse, and if I could use it with a fullsize keyboard and monitor it would be a viable laptop replacement. I've been scouring the internet and I can't find anything that displays video while providing power to the tablet.

Do you experience dropped calls, slow internet speeds, or the inability to send and receive texts while you’re on the road or enjoying some time off the beaten path? With the weBoost Drive Reach RV, you can improve your cell signal, wherever your adventures take you. Designed to enhance signal coverage for RVs, campers and trailers, especially in remote areas. The weBoost Drive Reach RV Cellular Signal Booster uses the latest technology to pick up an existing cell signal, route it the booster, then broadcast that amplified signal into your RV. To install the Drive Reach RV, first select where to mount the outside antenna using the provided ladder bracket. This is the most important step as it impacts the overall performance of the booster. Check that the antenna is at least 12 inches from all other antennas and openings to avoid interference. Use the modular mast extensions to ensure the antenna is above any obstructions. Once the outside antenna is installed, run the coax cable behind the weather stripping of an opening, like a door, window, or pop out slide, into your RV. Next, place the inside antenna on a table or countertop near where you plan to use your devices the most. Then run the coax cables to the booster. Plugin both the outside and inside cables. Now, plug in the power cord to the booster. Finally, plug the power cord into your vehicle’s power supply and turn on the booster. When the green light is on, it’s working. All coax cable needed for installation is provided. Stay connected, wherever you choose to explore, with the weBoost Drive Reach RV Cellular Signal Booster!

The power requirements says “plug in”. Plug into what? Does this plug into 120v AC which would require shore power or an inverter or does it plug into 12v DC in an RV? If I t’s 12V what kind of plug?

It comes with an AC power adapter, so you need shore power, inverter, or generator. I bought the 12V adapter for it, which plugs into a lighter socket.

Will the Surface Duo allow you to do Hotspot from the device? Is this capable of wifi calling?

Yes and yes. You can use it as a hotspot. At least I can on my Verizon account. It can be used for IMS calling and for SIP calling.

What is the maximum output through the USB cable. Example if I use a hub can I get 1gb Ethernet and two 4k screens @ 60hz plus a keyboard, mouse, and USB 3.0 at regular speeds? Also is there going to be a Samsung DeX or Chromebook OS from MS?

Ethernet, keyboard, and mouse work through the USB C cable, but video does not, so you won't get anything on your monitors.

Is data transferred or synched from my PC to the Duo via the YourPhone app on my PC? If not, how?

It's compatible with cloud syncing on Google Drive, gmail, hotmail, and OneDrive, so you get your data, pics, contacts, calendars, etc. It's also compatible with the YourPhone app so you can resume your browsing session and use text messaging on your PC.

Does the phone give you the option to turn off a display when not in use to conserve battery?

When you have it open like a book, both displays are on. When you have it folded shut, both displays are off. When you have it folded in the open position with both screens on the outside, only one screen stays on. You double-tap to switch screens, but it also seems to respond to how I rotate my wrist. There's only one camera so you have to rotate it between selfie and normal modes.

Password protection isn't enough anymore.Engineered with multi-layered security, Norton Core™ intelligently protects your Wi-Fi network and an unlimited number of connected IoT devices such as smart TVs, baby monitors, Wi-Fi thermostats as well as your personal devices like laptops, desktops, smartphones and tablets against malware, spyware, ransomware, viruses and more.

Do I need a smart phone to be able to use Norton Core?

I'm pretty sure you do; you need the app to set it up and control it. I'm not sure if there's a web interface, but I don't think there is.
