Excellent action movie!!!

My wife and I love this movie! This should be in the list of best action films ever made. It has a great plot, very intriguing. It's loaded with great actors (Nicolas Cage, John Cusack, John Malkovich, Ving Rhames, Danny Trejo, Steve Buscemi, etc.) You have to get the extended version, a must own! I highly recommend it! Also, some other great action movies to come out recently are Taken, Killshot, Knowing, and Bangkok Dangerous.
What's great about it: The extended version!
What's not so great: Nothing!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great movie!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. We are huge Tim Burton fans, but lately he's been on this singing kick with all his movies. My wife and I love his films, but we can't stand all the singing! For us, it just ruins the movie! However, this movie has NO singing! Hooray! We're finally able to enjoy his movies once again. This was a really well made movie with a unique plot. A good movie for everyone, not just kids. I highly recommend it! Also, we can't wait for Alice in Wonderland to come out, hopefully Tim Burton didn't put any singing in that one either. Our only complaint was the 3D glasses. Everything was just green and they gave us a headache. We just took them off about halfway through and watched it in 2D, it was actually better. (And no, it's not our TV. We have a 42" 1080i LCD, which is perfect for 3D movies.) I have a friend that had the same problem, he has a pair of clear 3D glasses and says they work better. So if you have a pair of clear 3D glasses like they give you in the theater, then I recommend using those. (We had the same problem with another 3D DVD, they just give you cheap glasses.)
What's great about it: Finally, a Tim Burton film WITHOUT singing!!!
What's not so great: The 3D glasses are terrible.

Great vampire flick!

This is a classic vampire movie, my wife and I love it! If you're a fan of vampire movies (by that I mean, Interview with a Vampire, Lost Boys, Bram Stoker's Dracula, NOT that pathetic kids movie Twilight, which is frankly an insult to the genre), then you'll love this movie! It has great action and intensity, a great plot, and great acting (Bill Paxton, Lance Henriksen). This is a great film for TRUE vampire movie lovers. I highly recommend it!
What's great about it: Classic horror movie!
What's not so great: Nothing!

Not very good.

My wife and I didn't really like this movie. It had a great cast (minus Tim Allen), but all these great actors played silly roles. The plot was dull and fake. Quite frankly, we have several biker friends that saw it and were rather offended. They portray bikers as goofballs. The only good part was Peter Fonda's cameo. For all these great actors, this was just an embaressment to thier careers. This was a poorly made comedy, and not very funny at all. Skip this one! Or if you really want to see it, just rent it. It's not worth watching twice.
What's great about it: Great cast.
What's not so great: Dull plot and Tim Allen.

Directed by Paul McGuigan, Wicker Park follows Chicago businessman Matthew's (Josh Hartnett) return to Windy City life after having dedicated two years of his life to mourning his long lost love Lisa (Diane Kruger), who'd mysteriously vanished from his life. Things are finally looking up again for Matthew; his career is in full swing, and he's thinking of becoming engaged -- that is, until he thinks he's spotted his former lover in a restaurant. Almost immediately, Matthew puts the brakes on his marriage plans and his career in order to conduct an exhaustive search for his old flame. Obsessed, he barely notices the psychologically devastating trap his quest is leading him into -- a danger that only grows when he meets an enigmatic stranger (Rose Byrne). Wicker Park features Matthew Lillard and Jessica Paré in supporting roles.

This was a good movie, my wife and I liked it. It has a good plot with a decent amount of suspense. Josh Hartnet does a great job. I definitely recommend it. Also, some other good Josh Hartnet films are Lucky # Slevin, Hollywood Homocide, and Sin City.
What's great about it: Good suspense drama.
What's not so great: Couldn't find anything.

Nothing like the first one!

My wife and I just watched this, and to be honest, the only reason we watched it all the way through to the end is because we thought it was going to tie in with the first one, somehow. It didn't! In fact, aside from the same house and corn field, this has nothing to do with the first one. It should've just been called The Scarecrow. OK, let's say it was. It still doesn't make any sense. There's character's that just pop in and out of the film and are never explained. The plot doesn't make sense. The acting was poor, especially the guys wife (she was a moron). There were also several movie flaws, including the casting. The farmer John Rollins' daughter is practically the same age as he is. I could go on. Needless to say, this reminded me of The Cell 2. A poorly made sequel that had nothing to do with the first one!
What's great about it: Atleast it wasn't a 'B' movie, had good special effects.
What's not so great: The plot, the acting, has several movie flaws, and doesn't make any sense!

Great horror movie!

This was a great haunting movie, my wife and I loved it! Filled with creepy, jumpy, scary scenes, this movie will have you on the edge of your seat. If you're a fan of such movies as Shutter, Dark Water, or The Return, then you'll love this movie. I highly recommend it! (However, avoid Messengers 2: The Scarecrow, it's nothing like this one.)
What's great about it: Very creepy and very intense, great twist at the end.
What's not so great: Couldn't find anything.

Great 4 pack!
on July 22, 2009

This is a good 4 pack for Batman lovers! Where as I'm more of a fan of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, Batman and Batman Returns were still good. After that, they got silly and they tried to cram too many characters and actors into the films. But, it's still a good set and worth the price. I highly recommend it!
What's great about it: Batman and Batman Returns.
What's not so great: The other two.

Excellent movie!!!

This movie was absolutely amazing!!! This is at the top of my wife and I's list of greatest movies ever made! Not to take away from Batman Begins, but this one was better. (But then again, it's really just one movie in two parts.) I personally have to be honest, when I heard Heath Ledger was going to be the Joker, I was upset. Not only because he had never really played a bad guy (Ned Kelly doesn't count), but because I didn't think he would live up to Jack Nicholson's Joker. Boy was I wrong! Not only did I eat my words, but he surpassed J.N.'s Joker! Don't get me wrong, I'll always love and appreciate J.N.'s Joker. But, H.L.'s Joker was much darker and more sinister, as he was originally meant to be. I also thought they did an outstanding job, (not only character wise, but special effects wise), with Two-Face. I love the new Batman films because they've started all over, making the films more dark and serious the way they were intended. Much like the Punisher, Batman was always suppose to be a sort of a bad good guy. Not the comedical Batman of the past, or the goofy Batman from the 50s and 60s spoofs. This is the REAL Batman, as it was intended! Heath Ledger actually was so into character that it messed with him mentally, and eventually led to his untimely death (allegedly). But, he will live on in this film. The performance of a lifetime, he will be missed! This is a must own movie, I highly recommend!!! I also recommend Batman Begins and look forward to the Dark Knight sequel. (From what I understand, Johnny Depp will take the role of the Riddler, I can't wait!)
What's great about it: Christian Bale and Heath Ledger!
What's not so great: Not enough stars to rate this movie!!! (The untimely loss of Heath Ledger.)

Excellent movie!!!

This movie was absolutely amazing, my wife and I love it! After the original Batman(1989), all the other Batman movies became a joke. They kept changing Batman actors, they tried cramming to many characters into the movies, and the over all films just became comedical kids movies. Now, starting over, they're doing it right! Batman, according to the comics, was sort of a bad good guy,(much like the Punisher.) Batman comics were originally meant to be very dark and serious, not funny! It got that wrap from cartoons and the TV shows from the 50s and 60s. The 1989 version and Batman Returns were close, but still some what comedical. The new Christian Bale Batman is sticking to it's roots, and becoming the dark and serious, more sinister Batman it was intended to be. (Unless you're a fan of the old goofy Batman and Robin spoof, then you'll love this movie.) I thoroughly enjoyed this film and highly recommend it along with The Dark Knight!
What's great about it: Christian Bale, best Batman!
What's not so great: Not enough stars to rate this movie!!!
