My wife and I had the pleasure of playing Demon's Souls before Dragon's Age. Demon's Souls we love and are completely consumed with. Dragon's Age we traded in 3 days later. Demon's Souls blows this game out of the water! It makes Dragon's Age look like a cheap computer game from the '90s. Dragon's Age was slow, boring, and required no real skill to play. Not to mention, the graphics are extremely poor! Despite the graphics, my wife and I gave it a shot. After about 3 total hours of play time over a 2 day period, we laughed, took it out, traded it for another game (Uncharted 2, which is amazing!), and resumed playing Demon's Souls. If you're looking at both of these games and trying to make a choice, I DON'T recommend this game! Demon's Souls is fun, intense, extremely challenging, very long and indepth, and has excellent graphics! I highly recommend Demon's Souls, this is what a real RPG is suppose to be!!!
What's great about it: Nothing!
What's not so great: Graphics, game play is slow and boring, no real challenge!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love this game! I've beaten it twice, once on easy and once on normal. I'm working on hard right now. This game is rather short, but has great replay value. It never gets boring. Plus, I still can't find all the Holocrons. As a huge fan of Star Wars, I highly recommend this game! I'm looking forward to Force Unleashed II, coming in 2010!
What's great about it: Extremely fun, can't get enough!
What's not so great: Rather short.

Fun! Difficult, but fun!

My wife and I love this game. However, the controls are extremely touchy and take some time to learn. There's a fine line between a game that's challenging yet fun, and a game that's so hard to play it takes all the fun out of it and you wind up throwing the game across the room. This game is on that fine line. We love playing the game, but we can't place higher than tenth to save our lives. You'll wreck or run off course about 15 times before you finish the race. We can't go more than ten feet in a race without falling off. If someone barely touches you, you fall off. If you hit a jump just a hair off, you end up landing in the crowd or in the woods. If you land wrong, you fall off. If you turn a hair too sharply, you fall off. If you brush an obstacle, you fall off. If you sneeze, you fall off. It's very frustrating at times, but you still want to play. Personally, I recommend spending some time by yourself in freestyle to learn the controls before going on to the races. Customization is fun, and they have a lot of vehicles to choose from. (If you can win a race to unlock them.) Had this game been easier to play, I would have given it 5 stars. But, my wife and I still love it and are determined to get better. (Plus, this game may come easier to others.) I definitely recommend it.
What's great about it: Fun to play, lots of bikes and vehicles to choose from.
What's not so great: Controls are tough, very touchy.

Very fun and very difficult!

First off, my wife and I aren't hard core gamers. We play casually for fun. We usually play games on easy to medium levels and once the game is beaten we'll try it on a harder level for a good test. I don't like games that are so difficult I have to spend 3 months on one level. To me that takes all the fun out of it. That said, we love and hate this game. We love the graphics and the storyline, and being able to create your own characters. However, there are no difficulty levels! This game is very difficult! The game is really fun, but will agitate you. When you die in soul form you are sent all the way back to the beginning of the round, no check points! You die very easily! Some enemies you face hit you once and you're dead. It's very frustrating, but you find yourself wanting to do it over and over again. Also, we don't usually get game guides unless we absolutely have to. This one you might. A lot of the items and spells you pick up are not explained as to what they are or how to use them. We waste a lot of items trying to figure out what they are and how or when to use them. There's a lot of trial and error in this game. I highly recommend it, but only if you have patience!
What's great about it: It's very addicting and fun to play!
What's not so great: It'll test your patience, a little too difficult at times!

First of all, I'm a huge Gran Turismo fan so I loved this game. It's extremely fun, challenging, has a great selection of cars, and is very realistic. I've only played two other NFS's. Some people who loved driving around aimlessly looking for a race and running from the cops, didn't like this one. For those of you like me, who played Gran Turismo for years, will love this game. I highly recommend it!
What's great about it: Extremely fun and realistic.
What's not so great: Couldn't find anything.

Completely ridiculous!

This movie was good, if you're 10 years old. Anyone over that age would have noticed the numorous errors, movie flaws and plot holes. If you just want to see some cool special effects and lots of explosions, then you'll love it. (And don't waste your money on the special edition, you're not missing anything.) The first one was decent, except for the silly dialogue. The same useless silly dialogue was in this one. Also, why is everyone jumping on this Megan Fox bandwagon? Aside from the fact that she a complete idiot and has a deformed thumb, she's a terrible actress! This movie is around 2 1/2 hours long. After about 90 mins. the exciting special effects and worthless plot were starting to get old. My wife fell asleep and I found myself checking the time every 15 mins. hoping it would just end! If you really want to see this movie, just rent it and watch it as a ridiculous comedy. Trust me, after all the silly dialogue, more movie flaws than I can count, the robot sl*t, Shia LaBeouf going to robot heaven(?), robot and human characters that serve no purpose throughout the film, a plot that makes absolutely zero sense, etc., etc...., you'll be glad you didn't waste $20 on it like I did!!!!
What's great about it: The special effects.
What's not so great: The plot, movie flaws, the silly dialogue, and Megan Fox!

Not nearly as good as the film Red Dragon!
on July 30, 2009

If you've never seen this film, it's actually the first film of the Hannibal series based on the Thomas Harris novel Red Dragon. It was later remade into the movie Red Dragon, which of course was much better. Red Dragon had much better acting, and was more intense and fast paced. Brian Cox is a good actor, but his Hannibal Lector was no where near as good as Anthony Hopkins. William Peterson is just a terrible actor! His replacement, Edward Norton, is one of the best actors today and in a whole other league in comparison. And Tom Noonan, who plays the Tooth Fairy, is not nearly as convincing as Ralph Fiennes was. When comparing Red Dragon to Manhunter, I highly recommend Red Dragon. After watching it, Manhunter is rather dull and boring. I still recommend it though, just because it was good in its day, and it was the first of Thomas Harris novels to become a movie. (Personally, I didn't care for it. After all, there is a reason why they remade it.)
What's great about it: Stays true to the book Red Dragon.
What's not so great: Poor acting and very slow and boring compared to the other films.

This movie was fantastic, my wife and I loved it! We saw it in the theater and again unrated on DVD, great both times! This movie explores Hannibal's younger life from a child to a young man, and explains what made him the man he became. Gaspard Ulliel does an amazing job as Hannibal Lecter. All the fans of the Hannibal Lecter films and the Thomas Harris books will appreciate this amazing prequel! I highly recommend this movie, along with all the other Hannibal films!
What's great about it: Gaspard Ulliel, adapted very well from the book.
What's not so great: Nothing!

Martin Scorsese's gangster epic Goodfellas originally appeared on DVD in the early days of the format. This two-disc special edition replaces that first release as the definitive DVD of the film. The movie itself is presented in the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. This is a difficult film to transfer because of the deep reds, but this disc looks as good as one could possibly hope. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1, while a Spanish soundtrack has been recorded in Dolby Digital Stereo. English, Spanish, and French subtitles are accessible. The extensive supplemental materials include one of the finest commentary tracks ever recorded. Featuring just about every major figure involved in the film (both in front of and behind the camera) , the track offers comments from Scorsese that reveal how every aspect of production figures into every shot. Listening to him explain why the famous "What's so funny about me" scene would not work in a film with an aspect ratio of 2.35:1 is a master class in film directing. A second commentary track features Henry Hill, the real life gangster played in the film by Ray Liotta, and an FBI agent who spent his career tracking down gangsters. A second disc contains an information packed documentary on the making of the film, and a short featurette in which directors Richard Linklater, Jon Favrau, and Allen and Albert Hughes discuss the film's influence. Simply stated, this is one of the best DVD releases of 2004.

Like the TV series that shared the same title, The Untouchables (1987) was an account of the battle between gangster Al Capone and lawman Eliot Ness, this time in the form of a feature film boasting big stars, a big budget, and a script from respected playwright David Mamet. Kevin Costner stars as Ness, a federal agent who has come to Chicago during the Prohibition Era, when corruption in the local police department is rampant. His mission is to put crime lord Capone (Robert De Niro) out of business, but Capone is so powerful and popular that Ness is not taken seriously by the law or the press. One night, discouraged, he meets a veteran patrolman, Jimmy Malone (Sean Connery), and discovers that the acerbic Irishman is the one honest man he's been seeking. Malone has soon helped Ness recruit a gunslinger rookie, George Stone (Andy Garcia), and, joined by nebbish accountant Oscar Wallace (Charles Martin Smith), the men doggedly pursue Capone and his illegal interests. At first a laughingstock, Ness soon has Capone outraged over his and Malone's sometimes law-bending tactics, and the vain mobster strikes back in vicious style. Ultimately, it is the most unexpected and minor of crimes, tax evasion, which proves Capone's undoing. All of the credits for The Untouchables boasted big names, including music from Ennio Morricone and costumes by Giorgio Armani. Director Brian De Palma continued his tradition of including a homage to past masters of the cinema with a taut stairway shoot-out reminiscent of a similar sequence in Sergei Eisenstein's Battleship Potemkin (1925).
