New Line has delivered a great DVD in Blow, the third release in its Infinifilm series. The Johnny Depp-starring film about the rise and fall of a cocaine dealer has never looked better. The picture is top-flight, presented in a 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen format. Sound is decent, offered in Dolby Digital 5.1, but in a film as dialogue-heavy as this one, one won't notice it as much. The extras are the true superstars here. The Infinifilm series invites viewers to "go beyond the movie" by offering features that shed light not only on the film's production, but also on its subject matter. Included on the disc is an interview with George Jung, the real person on whom the film is based; a commentary from Jung and director Ted Demme; "Lost Paradise," an in-depth look at the Columbian drug trade; a six-minute featurette on drug addiction; deleted scenes; and a production diary, among many others. With the Infinifilm feature, many of these features can be accessed during the film itself, taking viewers to features relevant to the scene in question. The DVD is excellent in all respects and is well worth the money. Hopefully, other studios will follow New Line's lead and include more than just EPK material on their DVDs.

This is a great movie, my wife and I love it! It based on the true life story of George Jung. Johnny Depp is amazing in this movie. It also stars Ray Liotta and Penelope Cruz, (and is it just me or does Penelope Cruz always play a psycho. I'm just sayin'.)This movie will have you laughing and crying. I highly recommend it! Also, if you like true life stories of the same genre, you should watch Goodfellas, Casino, and Scarface.
What's great about it: Based on a true story.
What's not so great: Couldn't find anything.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great kids movie!

My wife and I watched this movie, and to be honest, the only reason we kept watching was because of the special effects. The plot is just stupid. The acting was poor. This is just a kids movie with good special effects. I'd place this with other kids movies of the same genre, like Twilight and Blood & Chocolate.
What's great about it: The special effects.
What's not so great: The acting, the plot, everything else!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great comedy!

This was a great movie, my wife and I loved it! John Cusack and Billy Bob Thornton are terrific together. It also stars Cate Blanchett and Angelina Jolie. This is a great comedy about the life of an air traffic controller, which is considered one of the most stressful jobs there is. I highly recommend this movie! Plus, check out Ice Harvest, which also stars Cusack and Thornton.

Johnny Depp and Charlize Theron star in this terrifying psychological sci-fi tale of trust and doubt, arriving on DVD from New Line Home Entertainment. Presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen (enhanced for 16 x 9 TVs) and with closed-captioned English Dolby Digital 5.1 and Surround audio tracks, this release also features optional English subtitles. With extra features including an original theatrical trailer and cast and crew filmographies, the disc also contains a variety of exciting DVD-ROM features, including access to the original website contents and screenplay, up-to-the-minute cast and crew info with web links, and a bonus Lord of the Rings browser.

This a great thriller, my wife and I love it! It has a very twisted edge-of-your-seat plot. Johnny Depp and Charlize Theron are fantastic in this film. If you like films of the sci-fi horror genre, then you'll love this movie. I highly recommend it! Also, some other good films that are similar are Fire in the Sky, The Forgotten, and Event Horizon.
What's great about it: Great plot, great acting, great cinamatography, everything!
What's not so great: Nothing!

Terry Gilliam's adaptation of Hunter S. Thompson's novel Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is given the deluxe treatment on this lavish two-disc set from Criterion. The film is presented in a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1. English soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1, Dolby Digital Stereo, and DTS Surround. English subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include a commentary track recorded by Gilliam, a second commentary track by stars Johnny Depp and Benicio del Toro along with producer Laila Nabulsi, a third commentary track recorded by Thompson, historical information on the people portrayed in the film, a 1978 BBC documentary about Thompson, a collection of artwork by Ralph Steadman, a documentary about Thompson in Hollywood, and Johnny Depp reading from Thompson's extensive correspondence. This is a truly spectacular disc from Criterion that sheds light on the filmmaking process as well as the real life people that inspired the book.

This one of my wife and I's favorite films, absolutely hilarious! Best of all, it's true! Johnny Depp and Benicio Del Toro are fantastic! Terry Gilliam (12 Monkeys, Monty Python) does an amazing job bringing Hunter S. Thompson's novel to the screen. Loaded with special features, I highly recommend this special edition! Trust me, it's worth every penny!
What's great about it: Based on a true story!
What's not so great: Not enough stars to rate this movie!!!

For fans of From Hell who do not want to pay for the deluxe two disc package, 20th Century Fox has released the film in this single-disc format. The movie is presented in a widescreen transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio. The English soundtrack is strong. English subtitles are accessible. The picture and sound quality on this disc are superb, making it worthwhile for anyone without interest in knowing more about this stylish film.

Excellent psychological thriller!!!

This was a great movie, my wife and I loved it! Johnny Depp remains one of the elite actors of today. This movie is a great twist on the Jack the Ripper case. A lot of what's in this film is fact, the fiction is more or less theoretical. If you're a fan of serial killer thrillers and mysteries, I highly recommend this film! Also, some other great Johnny Depp films I recommend are Sleepy Hollow, Astronaut's Wife, Secret Window, Blow, and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
What's great about it: Great take on the true story.
What's not so great: Couldn't find anything.

My wife and I loved this one, very twisted. We're huge Dario Argento fans, so we knew this would be good. This movie is very creepy and has a twisted plot. I highly recommend it! Also, another one from Dario Argento is Pelts, from the second season of the Masters of Horror.
What's great about it: Dario Argento!
What's not so great: Too short, I wanted more!

One of the best in the Masters of Horror series!

This is one of the most disturbing films of the Masters of Horror series, my wife and I loved it! We're huge DVD collectors. We currently own just over 2,000 DVDs, almost half of which is horror. The reason I'm telling you this is because this movie just jumped into our top 20 for most disturbing. That includes some underground stuff we have that I can't talk about, and is NOT for the general public. (Hardcore horror collectors know what I'm talking about.) So, if you're like us and you like films that the more twisted and disturbing they are the better, then this is one you definitely want to check out. It's not the most horrific I've seen, but it'll still get you! I highly recommend it! Plus, some other good ones from the Masters of Horror series I recommend are Jenifer, Haekel's Tale, Cigarette Burns, and The Fair Haired Child.
What's great about it: Very twisted and profoundly disturbing!
What's not so great: Too short, I wanted more!

This is one of my wife and I's favorite Tim Burton films. We're also huge Johnny Depp fans, the two work together very well. This is a brilliant film that could only come from the imagination of Tim Burton. This film also has a good underlining message about our society. This a fantastic movie that I highly recommend! Also, some other great Burton/Depp films are Sleepy Hollow, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and thier latest Alice in Wonderland.
What's great about it: Johnny Depp and Tim Burton!
What's not so great: Vincent Price will be missed.

Package Description: Tim Burton's Corpse Bride carries on in the dark romantic tradition of his classic Edward Scissorhands and Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas. Set in a 19th-century European village, this stop-motion animated feature follows the story of Victor (voiced by Johnny Depp), a young man whisked away to the underworld and wed to a mysterious Corpse Bride (voiced by Helena Bonham Carter), while his real bride Victoria (voiced by Emily Watson) waits bereft in the land of the living. Though life in the Land of the Dead proves to be a lot more colorful than his strict upbringing, Victor learns that there is nothing in this world -- or the next -- that can keep him away from his one true love. It's a tale of optimism, romance and in very lively afterlife, told in classic Burton style.

Good kids movie.

My wife and I liked this movie. The only reason we didn't give it a higher rating was because we can't stand singing in movies. I know, it's for the kids. But, Coraline was great, and it didn't have any singing. After we fast forwarded through the singing, the movie was only like 35 minutes. Just like with Nightmare Before Christmas, this would've been better without all the singing. I recommend it just because we're huge fans of both Tim Burton and Johnny Depp, even though this is definitely not thier best. I highly recommend Coraline, Tim Burton at his best and NO singing. However, for the families out there with kids that do like Tim Burton's singing movies, I recommend Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Sweeney Todd.
What's great about it: Johnny Depp and Tim Burton!
What's not so great: Very short, too much singing.
I would recommend this to a friend!
