Love this game!!!

I was a huge fan of Fallout 3 and couldnt wait for New Vegas! I was not dissappointed! This game is exciting, intriguing, and very lengthy and in depth. Im talking over a 100 hours of play time with multiple out comes and mutiple scenarios. The graphics could've been a bit better, but its so much fun, you dont care. Also, be sure to save frequently! This game has the same problems locking up as the 3rd one did. (Just take it out, turn off the PS3, and put it back in.) Other than that, you definitely get your moneys worth with this one. I highly recommend it, along with the 3rd one, if you never played it!
What's great about it: Very lengthy and very fun!
What's not so great: Glitches and locking up.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great movie for true horror fans!

This was a great first person point of view exorcism film! I like the plot, mostly because there are a lot of hokey evangelic preachers out there that exploit people for money and dont even believe in what they are doing. In this film, one of those preachers gets a wake up call when he comes across the real thing. I personally have studied exorcisms both from a psychological and theological aspect. About 85% of them end up being things like epilepsy, schizophrenia, or some other scientifically explainable ailment. However, whether you choose to believe or not, there are that 15% that cannot be explained and fall under the category of paranormal/ demonic possession. If you like this movie, I highly recommend The Exorcist, Exorcism of Emily Rose, and The Rite! All of which are based on actual events!
What's great about it: Great plot, and great twist at the end.
What's not so great: Couldnt find anything.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great movie, not your typical vampire flick!

My wife and I loved this movie! We are huge horror fans, especially when it comes to vampire films. Good vampire films are hard to come by these days. (I'm not even going to start on the Twilight series, that's just an insult to the genre.) Generally, vampire films fall into two categories. One, you have the more action-driven films like the Blade and Underworld series'. Then, you have the actual vampire horror films, such as, Fright Night, Bram Stoker's Dracula, and more recently, 30 Days of Night. I'm a fan of both types, and I would have to place this one somewhere in the middle. There's a couple of jumpy scenes, but it leans more toward the action/horror genre. What I love about this movie is the uniqueness of the plot. In most vampire films, humans are either trying to exterminate vampires or they want to become one. This film poses the question, what if everyone was a vampire and humans were the endangered species? This film plays it out perfectly. It was very well written, has a great cast, and is a thrill to watch! I highly recommend it!
What's great about it: The plot and the acting.
What's not so great: Couldn't find anything.

If you saw the trailer, you saw the movie.

My wife and I are huge horror fans and love films of this genre, Constantine, The Prophecy, etc. Needless to say, we were eagerly awaiting this movies release. However, after watching it, we were really diappointed. First of all, all the good scenes were in the trailer. Second, the plot started off great and was very intriguing. After about an hour or so into it, the plot seems to hit a wall. Ultimately leading to a rather dull and confusing ending. I don't want to spoil it for people that haven't seen it, but there were some unanswered questions, plot holes, and somethings that just flat out didn't make sense. There's a scene at the end where the head angels, Micheal and Gabriel, are locked in battle. One of them is killed, only to pop up again 10 min. later. Ok, I'll bite. Let's say he's immortal, then how did he die in the first place? Also, he immediately goes back to fighting the other angel as if to kill him. Why, if he can't die? This is just some of the many unanswered questions that led to a dull and pointless ending. I don't want to get into all of them, because I don't want to spoil it or go on a rant. The special effects and acting were very good, which is the reason I gave it 3 stars instead of 1 or 2. As far as whether or not to recommend it, I'm on the fence. I'm going to say yes, but only to rent or after the price drops. Also, because I know there are a lot of people out there that don't care about the plot and just want to see some cool special effects. (Example: Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen. This movie doesn't make a d*mn bit of sense, but no one cared because it had cool special effects.) I hope this review was useful.
What's great about it: The acting and special effects were good.
What's not so great: The plot had potential, but lets you down at the end.

Great game, fun to play!

This was a really fun game! I picked this up to fill the void after God of War III and Dante's Inferno. It did just that. The gameplay and plot were great. My only complaint (and the reason I didn't give it 5 stars) was the graphics and the voices. The graphics had that cheesy comic book look to it. Not ripping on comic books, it's just that I prefer more realistic graphics, less cartoonish. Also, for a game with a mature rating, the voices were like something off of a kids Saturday morning cartoon like He-man or Thundercats, or something. (Sorry, I couldn't use a cartoon more recent, but I haven't watched Saturday morning cartoons since I was 5.) My point is, why would you make a game for adults that has childishly fake voices and cartoon-like graphics? In fact, other than a little blood, I don't know why this even has a mature rating. As far as the length of the game, it was pretty decent. You're able to travel at will to any other world you've previously beaten, so you can collect things you couldn't get before. You can fly through the game in about 13-15 hours, or you can take your time going back through the worlds finding hidden stuff and even hidden enemies, and tack on another 5 or 6 hours. However, I wish they had a new game+, because I gathered some new abilities and upgrades at the end that I never got to use. But, over all, this was a very fun game that I had a great time playing. If you're also looking to fill that God of War III void, then I recommend this game!
What's great about it: Really fun, great storyline.
What's not so great: Graphics and voices were a bit cheesy.

Betrayed and enraged, Kratos is determined to wreak his vengeance on the callous Gods. Over the course of his quest, he will solve complex puzzles and face off against some of mythology's darkest and most dangerous creatures. Take on the role of the powerful Kratos and arm yourself with his deadly double-chained blades as you pursue your goal of ultimate destruction. As I'm about the 96th to 100th person to do a review for this game, there's not a whole lot to say that hasn't already been said. I finished the game on normal in about 13 hours, and loved it. My wife always plays games on easy for fun, and she's about 3 quarters of the way through it, and she loves it. The average length for a game these days is about 10 - 15 hours. Personally, I like games that are about 15 - 20+ hours. But, I was very satisfied with the 13 hours worth of this game. I highly recommend it! If you've played and beaten this game and are left with a huge void, I recommend Dante's Inferno and Darksiders.
What's great about it: Everything, extremely entertaining!
What's not so great: Too short, I wanted more!

Another great series from After Dark Horrorfest!!!

My wife and I are huge horror buffs, we love After Dark Horrorfest! We have all 4 series, 34 total. (And no, I didn't add wrong. They say '8 films to die for' but the first 2 series technically had 9, some people don't know that.) The first 2 series were kind of hit or miss, but the third series was the best. We liked every single one of them! In this series, we've seen 7 out of 8 and there's only one we didn't like. In my opinion, it's better to buy the whole set unless you can get them individually for less than $14.99 each. If you can't afford it and want to buy them one at a time, some I can recommend are Kill Theory, The Reeds, The Final, Lake Mungo, and Dread (which is produced by Clive Barker). If you're wondering, the one we didn't like was The Graves, but that's just our opinion. Regardless, I highly recommend the whole set!
What's great about it: More great horror films!
What's not so great: A little more expensive than in previous years, but still worth it.

This is a brilliant horror film!!!

My wife and I saw this in the theater and were blown away! We couldn't wait for it to come out on DVD/Blu-ray so we could watch it again, and it was just as good the second time. My wife and I are huge horror collectors, (no pun intended). Out of a DVD/Blu-ray collection of roughly 2,500, about 1,200 to 1,500 are of the horror/thriller/sci-fi genre. That said, this is one of the best, most original horror films to come out in some time. It's kind of a mix between Anamorph and the Saw films, but unique in its own way. I believe it didn't get as much recognition at the time of its theatrical release because it was competing with films like Halloween II and SawVI. Actually, this film was done by the same writers that did Saw IV, V, and VI. So, if you're a fan of the Saw films as we are, or just love a good twisted horror film that makes you think, you'll love this movie. Also, the soundtrack is fantastic! To me, having good background music adds to the quality and intensity of the film. I highly recommend it!!!
What's great about it: The plot, the intensity, the acting, the soundtrack, everything!
What's not so great: This film hasn't gotten the publicity it deserves.

Why did I watch this?!
on April 12, 2010

Let me make this review as clear as possible. If you are male, you're NOT going to like this movie! If you are a mature individual and above the age of 17 years old, you're NOT going to like this movie! My wife and I watched the first film and thought it was just terrible. We only watched this one because we heard it was better. It was a LITTLE better, but it's still a terrible movie. I was hoping New Moon would be geared more towards adults or even a male audience at that. No such luck! These movies have a pointless plot with no conclusion. Let me get this straight, a girl is caught in a love triangle between a teenage werewolf and a 109 year old vampire who looks and poses as a teenager. Right?! Regardless of how he looks, why would someone with the intelect of 109 year old be dating a teenager? The plot just doesn't make sense, it's more humorous than anything. Not to mention, all the actors in the film are between 16 and 20 and look like they walked off an Abercrombie and Fitch photo shoot. Like I said before, these Twilight films and Blood and Chocolate (which is the exact same movie minus vampires) are geared only towards teenie-boppers, teenage girls between 10 and 17 years old. That's it! Unless you actually like silly high school drama and lots of shirtless teenage boys running around. So, if you find yourself in that category, by all means you'll probably like it. For all the adults and males reading this, I don't recommend this film!!! Also, I don't understand the PG-13 rating. For all you parents, this could pass for PG or even G, if your little daughter wants to watch it. (I'm suprised Disney didn't slap their label on it.)
What's great about it: It's a little better than the first.
What's not so great: It still has horrible acting, a vague plot, and rediculous immature drama.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is a great game, my wife and I love it! If you're a God of War fan, this is right up your alley. In fact, the gameplay and controls are practically identical to God of War. But, it does have the one negative that God of War has, no camera! I don't like not being able to look around with the right joystick like you can in 95% of games, but this is a minor complaint. Also, I'm a fan of longer games. To me, 20-25 hours and up is good and makes me feel like I got my moneys worth. Don't get me wrong, I definitely feel like I got my moneys worth on this game, but it was pretty short. My wife and I aren't hardcore gamers, we play casually after work and on weekends. My wife starts a game on easy, me normal, then work up to harder levels. That said, I finished the game on Zealot (or normal) in about 14 hours, then again on Infernal (or very hard) in about 10 hours. To me, that's way too short, (much like Uncharted 2). However, this game has great replay value! Therefore, I highly recommend this to those casual gamers that want a fun game that everyone can beat and enjoy. For those hardcore gamers that beat every game they play in one sitting on rediculously hard level, I'm sure you'll find this game too easy. But, it's still a cool and unique game with a great storyline that should be in everyones collection. I definitely recommend it!
What's great about it: Gameplay, story, graphics, replay value, and really fun!
What's not so great: Too short, I wanted more!
