This movie came out at the same time Twilight did so it didn't get as much recognition. Plus, there aren't any prominent actors in it. But, unlike Twilight, which was a romantic kids movie, this movie is much darker and really twisted. My wife and I are movie collectors, most which are horror. We love vampire films and thought Twilight was a complete bust. But, Bled was so much better. It puts a new twist on vampirism that's never been done. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because of the acting and special FX. If they had've put more money into it and better actors, this would've been a big hit! I would definitely check this out, if you like vampire movies. (I'd wait for to drop to about $14.99 or less.)
What's great about it: The plot was great.
What's not so great: The acting could have been better.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This movie could've been so much better. Now, I've not read the books, but I know a few people that have, and they said the book was a lot better. (Then again, book's usually are better than the movies, because movies always have to cut some stuff out.) My wife and I are collectors of both. We have about 500 or so books and about 2,000 DVDs. I'm not bragging, just showing credibility. That said, this review is about the movie. I thought the cinematograghy was great, the plot was decent, but the acting was horrible. Plus, my wife and I thought the movie was childishly done. I know the actors are teenagers, but the way it was filmed is like it was strictly for kids and teenagers. I don't even know how it got a PG-13 rating. It was like a PG Disney movie or something. When we got it, we thought it was going to be more serious. On the other hand, I hear the next one, New Moon, is suppose to be better, more for adults. Maybe the movies mature as the characters do. So, if you're looking for a good vampire horror, this is NOT the movie. But, if you want a nice little heart-warming family film, that happens to be about a family of vampires, then this would be a good movie. We were under the impression it was horror/romance, not a kids movie. If you haven't bought it yet, I'd wait for it to drop to $9.99 or just rent it. I hope this review was useful. Also, when I say at the bottom, I would NOT recommend this to a friend, it's because I don't have kids for friends. I would ONLY recommend this to kids, teenagers or families.
What's great about it: Very artistic.
What's not so great: The acting was terrible.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My wife and I loved this movie! We're huge fans of the Afterdark Horrorfest films, we have all 26. This is one of the best ones! The plot is great. It gives you a look at the total chaos that could come from running out of oil. It's pretty scary, if you think about it, 90% of our cars, factories, ect. run on gas or oil. The result is alot like it was in the Mad Max movies. Except they're not fighting for gas, they're fighting to stay alive. Plus, Vinnie Jones is in it.(I'm a fan of his.) All around, this movie was terrific. Not a dull moment. I highly recommend it, a must see!
What's great about it: The plot was great.
What's not so great: There are basically no DVD extras.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This movie was fantastic! It has a great plot, great acting, and keeps you on the edge of you're seat. My wife and I have all 26 Afterdark Horrorfest films, and I have to say, this is one of the better ones. This one was intense right up to the credits. The back of the movie is rather vague as to what it's about, but in thier defense, it is rather hard to describe what it's about. Just take my word for it, it's worth buying!
What's great about it: Great plot and very intense!
What's not so great: There are basically no DVD extras.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I know I was contradictory in saying that, what was and was not good about the film, is that it's disturbing. I'll explain. The reason I liked it is because, my wife and I love disturbing and controversial movies. Now, what's no so good, is that, it's based on a true story. In our opinions, that makes the movie that much better, but it makes you wonder, how could some one do something like this. Stephen King said it best, "It's the dark-side-of-the-moon version of Stand By Me." This movie is a must see. Jack Ketchum has a great way of showing you the dark side of people, and what some people are capable of doing. If you like the movie and want some more, check out The Lost. It's another movie by Ketchum based on a true story, and also disturbing. My wife and I highly recommend this movie.
What's great about it: It's very disturbing!
What's not so great: It's very disturbing!

First of all, I was a little upset that Kevin Gage (who is one of my favorite actors that, in my opinion, doesn't get enough big roles,) dies in the first ten minutes. So, if you saw him in the trailer, don't get too excited. Then, the movie actually starts off very promising, lots of action and suspense. But, after about 45 minutes into it, it starts to get a little confusing. You think you understand what's going on, but there's a lot of unanswered questions. As it starts to lose your interest, it suddenly just ends. At this point, I was kind of glad it was over, but then again, I was angry because the beginning was so good and there were things that were left unexplained. My wife and I watched this movie with another friend, and we all came to the same conclusion. The movie starts off terrific and then nose dives. I would still recommend it, but only when it drops in price.
What's great about it: The first 45 min.
What's not so great: The last 45 min.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This movie was decent. I gave it four stars for the action and intrigue. Obviously it has a cheesey plot, (aliens try to take over the world,) but its how they go about it that's fun. Actually, from the trailer, my wife and I thought it was going to be a sci-fi/horror comedy, (kind of like Slither.) But, it was actually pretty intense all the way to the end. This is where I had a problem. I personally can't stand movies that build you up to the climax and then go directly to credits! We got all into it and then it just ends. However, for a movie without prominent actors and a cheesey plot, it was actually pretty good. I'd wait for it to drop in price, then check it out.
What's great about it: The pace and intensity.
What's not so great: The ending.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Don't buy this set, it's a rip off!!! First of all, it's in english on the cover but every single movie is in spanish?! Then, as I tried to give a couple of them a chance, they were so poorly done I coudn't even watch them. B movie doesn't come close, more like D movie! So, unless you want to read your way through a series of the worst movies ever made, I'd skip this if I were you.
What's great about it: Nothing!
What's not so great: The fact that I wasted money on it!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My wife and I loved this movie. Disturbing, twisted, funny, and lots of gore! The Italians are brilliant when it comes to horror movies. If you love a good gore flick, you'll love this. It'll get inside you're head for days. BUY IT!!!
What's great about it: Plot, gore/special FX, and intensity!
What's not so great: The acting could have been better.

This movie was spectacular! Whether you buy the 2-disc special edition (as I did,) the single disc or Blu-ray, you won't be disappointed. You would have to be a very dull and negative person not to like this movie. This movie draws you in, not just to Benjamins life, but all those around him. A very compelling saga that will have you laughing and crying. A definite must own! Trust me, you'll won't to watch it more than once. Enjoy!
What's great about it: The movie, start to finish!
What's not so great: Nothing!
