This was a great movie, my wife and I really enjoyed it! We're fans of the Rock, his movies and his WWE background. It was nice to see him play a villain for once, he should do it more often. This movie had a great plot based off of a video game, hence the few cheesy first person point-of-view sequences. The acting was good and the film was very intense and fast paced. I highly recommend it! Also, another good sci-fi/ horror is Serenity.
What's great about it: The Rock as a villain.
What's not so great: The special effects got a little too computer generated at times.
Sleepy Hollow, Tim Burton's evocative, somewhat grisly adaptation of the classic Washington Irving story, comes to DVD with one of the most lavish and fully realized presentations yet for a Burton film. Starting with a widescreen, anamorphic transfer and Dolby Digital 5.1 and Surround Audio, the disc also features extras like an engaging and informative commentary by Burton, cast and crew interviews, biographies/filmographies, a photo gallery, the theatrical trailers, and a "making of" featurette. The commentary and interviews are especially entertaining, revealing how much camaraderie Burton has with actors like Jeffrey Jones, Johnny Depp, and Christina Ricci. Though separate, more in-depth sections on how the film's special effects were achieved would have been nice, the featurette covers enough of Sleepy Hollow's behind-the-scenes work to make it worthwhile. Along with the DVDs of Edward Scissorhands and Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, this disc plays to the strengths of Burton's quirky, visually striking directorial style -- and also suggests that deluxe versions of Batman and Batman Returns will be even more impressive.

This is an excellent film, my wife and I love it! This film has that great imagery we've all come to know from Tim Burton. This film is reminiscent of Edward Scissorhands. I love the Depp/ Burton combo, (except thier more recent singing movies.) But, this film brings an old legend to life in a fantastic and brilliant movie. I highly recommend it! Where as my wife and I do not like singing in movies, if you do, you should watch Sweeney Todd.
What's great about it: Johnny Depp and Tim Burton, (and no singing!)

This is one of my wife and I's favorite movies! As fans of Johnny Depp, I think this is among his best films. It has a great plot, loosely based on truth, that is very intriguing. (We have a cllection of such books, that's how we know.) Great acting, great storyline, I highly recommend it! Also, two other good Johnny Depp movies are Sleepy Hollow and Secret Window.

My wife and I are huge fans of M. Night Shyamalan. We thought this was a great movie. This is a fantasy movie for grown ups, much like Pan's Labyrinth. It's full of imagination and fun to watch. I highly recommend it! Also, if you like his movies, you should check out Unbreakable, The Village, and The Happening.
For viewers who find that the picture and sound are more important than supplemental material, this DVD will suit them just fine. The dry, sepia tone look of the film is reproduced perfectly on this disc. Colors are purposely muted, but the image quality doesn't suffer at all. As a matter of fact, the lack of color might even help this already excellent transfer, which doesn't have a single distracting element. The movie is presented, as it was in theaters, with a 2.35:1 aspect ratio, and is anamorphic for widescreen televisions. The sound, utilizing both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 soundtracks, is equally good. While generally centered up front, with dialogue that is clear and distortion-free, there is some limited use of the surrounds. Also included are subtitles in Spanish and closed-captions in English. Unfortunately the disc falls a little short with regard to extra material. The few extras it has are relatively weak. There are three individual featurettes, though each is very brief. The first is called "Painting With Pixels" and looks at the work of digitally changing the colors to achieve the specific effect that filmmakers Joel and Ethan Coen were trying to achieve. The second is a too short, behind-the-scenes glance at making the film, including some interviews. It fails to be more than a glorified fluff piece. Finally, there is a comparison between storyboards and the final film of two scenes -- the flood and the Klan rally. Considering the use of music in this film, a real plus is the music video for the song "I Am a Man of Constant Sorrow". Rounding things off is the theatrical trailer. Certainly not the most exciting disc, but fans of this film shouldn't be disappointed with what is offered.

My wife and I loved it! This is a good old comedy about the good old south! Plus, it has a great cast that in my opinion made the movie. I highly recommend it! Lots of fun!

If you're watching this as a survival horror/ slasher film, FORGET IT! This is the worst display of survival I've ever seen! Sorry to spoil it, but they don't survive! How can you call it a survival movie, if they don't survive?! They're an ignorant weak-minded city couple that allows themselves to be bullied and ultimately killed by a group of teenagers no older than 15! And don't give me that 'strength in numbers' nonsense, THEY'RE KIDS!!! Ignore the female for a moment, the guy in this was a complete wuss! There's a scene where one of the kids tries to stab him while thier rottweiler tries to attack him. He ends up pushing the blade into the dog, incidently killing it, then appologizes to the kids?! This, by the way, is after they stole his car, disrespected his wife, and tried to kill him! What are you appologizing for! IDIOT! The wife just stands around stupified while her husband gets killed! If you love your spouse, DO SOMETHING!!! I've never seen such a display of weakness in a film. We're not talking about Jason, Micheal Myers, or some serial killer, THEY'RE KIDS!!! I'm sorry, but my wife and I grew up hard in the south with a mix of country and city street smarts. If it were us in this position, the film wouldn't have made it past 20 minutes. End of story! We kept looking at one another through the whole movie laughing and saying, 'What are they doing?!' If you want to see a real film about survival, watch While She Was Out, with Kim Basinger. That's survival, and she does it by herself!
What's great about it: Nothing!
What's not so great: The main characters are weaklings!

This was a great movie, my wife and I loved it! This movie was much better than another movie with a similar plot, Eden Lake, which came out about the same time. This is one of Kim Basinger's best roles since Cellular. "H*ll hath no fury over a woman scorn!" All woman should take note. This is a great movie about a womans sense of survival. My wife, who grew up in Alabama hard-nosed yet classy, learned her survival skills in the south. She personally recommends this film to ALL woman. Also, I recommend this film myself to the guys who mess with these women! Great movie!

This is a great movie, my wife and I loved it! To be honest, we thought it was going to be a 'B' movie. It's not! There aren't any prominent actors or actresses, and I've never heard of the director (I think it's British), but this was a kicka** film. I gave it 5 stars just because of the plot and the intensity of the film. Plus, it has a great twist at the end. This film is very entertaining, I highly recommend it! Also, if you like this, you should check out Session 9, Trauma, and The Jacket.
What's great about it: Very trippy, twisted and intense.
The Adrien Brody trippy sci-fi flick The Jacket comes to DVD in this edition from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. Including the matted anamorphic 2.35:1 widescreen image and 5.1 Dolby Digital sound, the disc actually sports a less-than-stellar picture transfer that digitally blocks up the shadows in most of the picture. Hopefully this bit of annoyance is something that will be fixed in future re-releases. Bonus features are a cut above the rest, thankfully. Instead of displaying the deleted scenes in their own menu system, the disc's producers decided to include them in one 27-minute featurette that includes interviews with the director, producer, and stars of the film. Included you'll find an extended steamy sex scene, along with extra small bits of scenes that progress the story beyond the theatrical cut. Also included is a nine-minute clip on the special effects of the film that also features the director along with one of the art directors, Rhian Nicholas. Also available for viewing is the original theatrical trailer, which amounts to a reasonable amount of features for a film that will probably get another expanded release down the road.

This is a great movie, my wife and I love it! This is a really twisted movie that keeps you guessing. Adrien Brody is terrific. Plus, Keira Knightley, Kris Kristofferson and Jennifer Jason Leigh add to the cast. This is one of those movies you'll want to watch more than once. I highly recommend it! Also, some other good movies in this genre are 12 Monkeys, Donnie Darko, and Vanilla Sky.
What's great about it: Very intriguing with a great twist at the end.

My wife and I really liked this movie! I think it's one of the best of the Ghost House Underground series. It has a very intriguing plot, good acting and pretty decent special effects. It's fun to watch and keeps you on the edge of your seat. It kind of reminds me of something from a Stephen King or Clive Barker story. I definitely recommend it! Also, another good one from the Ghost House Underground series is No Man's Land: Rise of the Reeker, the sequel to The Reeker.
What's great about it: Very creepy, very intense and very intriguing.
