This was really good for an independent film, my wife and I loved it! The plot is rather unique, it's kind of a mix between The Hills Have Eyes and Children of the Corn. It's really creepy and keeps your interest till the end. The acting and special effects were decent for an independent film. My only complaint was the picture quality which was kind of fuzzy, but then again, it's a rather low budget film. My wife and I like to call these films, 'A-' films. It's not a Hollywood blockbuster with a buch of big name actors, but it's also not one of those cheesy pooly made 'B' movies with terrible special effects and such bad acting that it looks like they pulled the actors off a street corner and said, 'Hey, I'll pay you to read this cue card.' Hence, 'A-' film. This was a good movie, I highly recommend it! Also, some other good 'A-' films I recommend are The Devil's Chair, Seed, High Tension, Martyrs, The Ugly, and Murder-Set-Pieces (the unrated director's cut).
What's great about it: Very creepy and very disturbing.
What's not so great: The picture clarity could've been better, it's kind of fuzzy.

This is a great movie, my wife and I love it! The critics gave it bad reviews, as they do with all the good movies. I've learned over the years to be my own critic. To me the critics were always backwards, good movies got bad reviews and bad movies got good reviews, (and in some cases won an award). This is one such film. Ignore the reviews and watch this movie. The acting is fantastic, Vin Diesel is good as usual. He has a role similar to that of the Riddick movies. This is a great fast paced sci-fi thriller. I highly recommend it!
What's great about it: The plot, the acting, the special effects, everything!
Certainly not the hit that was expected from a Sandra Bullock film, now it will be seen if Murder By Numbers has new life on video. The image, which begins poorly with a noticeable amount of grain, improves quickly. The 1.85:1 framed picture, which is anamorphic, is strong with solid blacks, which are a key element of the film. Colors, though subdued at times, are nicely realized and naturalistic. Additionally, detail is good for the most part and skin tones are right on target. Sound for this disc is a 5.1 English Dolby Digital track that does utilize the forward speakers at times, but still lacks much imagination. It's not till the end of the film that any significant use of the surrounds is heard, and even then it is limited. Dialogue and sound effects are clear and distortion free. As for supplemental material, it's fairly limited. Other than a theatrical trailer, this disc offers a commentary track by director Barbet Schroeder and Editor Lee Percy. This screen specific track goes into quite a bit of detail about different elements of the film making process. At times a little bland, it's still well organized and generally informational. While not a great film, Warner has released a decent DVD; one that could show improvements though.

This was a great movie, my wife pointed it out because I had never seen it. The movie was very intriguing and keeps you guessing. However, other than putting together a few time slots, the movie really had nothing to do with numbers. I thought it was going to involve a lot of mathematics, like Cube or other similar movies. But, aside from a misleading title, this was a very good movie. I highly recommend it!
What's great about it: Very intriguing with a great twist at the end.
What's not so great: It had very little to do with numbers.

This is an amazing film, my wife and I were blown away! I have to admit, this movie exceeded all of our expectations. It's kind of a mix between The Day the Earth Stood Still, The Day After Tomorrow, and 2012. The thing I love about apocalyptic films is that they're an eye-opening look at what COULD very well happen! A devastating end of the world event could be right around the corner, (Google 2012). The best part is the ending, (that I don't want to spoil), but it gives us a theoretical glimpse at how our civilization was started. This theory is based on actual facts, (Google Ancient Astronauts). This is a very good movie, brilliantly directed by Alex Proyas (I, Robot, The Crow, and Dark City). Nicholas Cage is at his best. I highly recommend this film!
What's great about it: Very intriguing and thought provoking plot.

This is a great movie, my wife and I love it! Robert Rodriguez strikes again! This film has a great cast including, Rose McGowen and Bruce Willis. This is not your average zombie flick! If you like some of Rodriguez's other works like Sin City, The Faculty, From Dusk Till Dawn, etc., then you'll love this movie. I highly recommend it! Also, check out Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof, released at the same time. Grindhouse, Baby!

This is a great movie, my wife and I love it! This is a classic Tarantino flick! Great acting by Kurt Russell and a great plot right up to the end. The only people I've noticed that don't like it are people that just aren't fans of his work. If you liked some of his other movies; Pulp Fiction, From Dusk Till Dawn, Curdled, Kill Bill, etc., then you'll love this movie. I highly recommend it! Also, check out Robert Rodriguez's Planet Terror, that was released at the same time. Grindhouse, Baby!
Quentin Tarantino, Robert Rodriguez, Allsion Anders, and Alexandre Rockwell each directed a portion of Four Rooms. The disc offers a widescreen transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital Surround. There are neither subtitles nor closed captions on this release. Despite the amount of talent that worked on this film, it failed to make much of an impression at the box office. Disney/Buena Vista has done nothing to help expose the film to more people, as they have not provided any supplemental materials of consequence. This disc is for fans of the film.

This is one of my wife and I's favorite films! We never get tired of watching it! Directed by Quentin Tarantino and starring Tim Roth, this comedy will have you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next. This movie is loaded with stars; Bruce Willis, Madonna, Antonio Banderas, and more. This is a must own, I highly recommend it! Also, some other Quentin Tarantino classics are Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, and Curdled.

My wife and I loved this movie! This movie touched a nerve with my wife and I. Not because of the racial issues, (which are a big problem in our country today), but because of the out-of-control 'men in blue'. We suffered a traumatic unforgetable incident at the hands of some violent out-of-control cops, and we were the same race. (Ironically, we lived at Oakview Terrace at the time.) This film sends a big message, not only about racism, but how our law enforcement are given the power to do whatever they want, without repercussion. After our incident, my wife and I are now terrified and view cops as the enemy. It's not suppose to be this way! I highly recommend this film, not just because it's a good movie, but as a wake up call! Other related films are Unlawful Entry, Pride and Glory, and Crash.
What's great about it: Samuel L. Jackson at his best.
Hollywood's Vista Series DVD of Tombstone is a double-disc set packed with special features for fans of this story about Wyatt Earp and his time in the Arizona mining town, including the legendary gunfight at the O.K. Corral. The film stars Kurt Russell as Earp and Val Kilmer as the tubercular Doc Holliday. The DVDs come packaged in an attractive box that resembles an aged piece of parchment. The first disc contains a 2.35:1 widescreen version of the film enhanced for 16 x 9 televisions with a booming DTS 5.1, Dolby Digital Surround, THX certified soundtrack. It also contains an audio commentary by director George P. Cosmatos. Special features on disc two include a making-of documentary; a "Tombstone Timeline" that places events in chronological perspective; a storyboard sequence; a copy of the original front page of the town newspaper, the Tombstone Epitaph, on the day after the gunfight; several DVD-ROM features; theatrical trailers; TV commercials; and a booklet. There's even a collectible paper map of the gunfight as illustrated in Earp's own hand. Hollywood has hit a bullseye with this DVD set.

My wife and I love this movie! We aren't exactly fans of westerns. In fact, as movie collectors, we have around 2,000 DVDs. Out of that, only a dozen are westerns. In other words, it has to be really good! Tombstone is probably the best western ever made, in my opinion, next to Unforgiven with Clint Eastwood. If you like westerns, you've probably already seen it. If you're not fond of westerns like us, you need to watch this one! Trust me, it's worth it! Kurt Russell and Val Kilmer are at thier best! I highly recommend this film! Also, there's an alternate version of this film entitled Wyatt Earp, starring Kevin Costner and Dennis Quaid.
Relive the timeless tale of an Australian outlaw-turned-folk hero in this Universal Studios release. The feature is presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen, with audio rendered in closed-captioned English Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS, as well as an alternate Spanish Dolby Digital 5.1 track with optional Spanish and French subtitles. For those looking to learn a bit more about the mythical Australian, Universal Studios has also included the featurette "Ned Kelly in Popular Culture" and "The Real Kelly Gang" in addition to an artist-to-feature comparison and theatrical trailers.

This is a great true story western, my wife and I loved it! This film based on the real Kelly gang of Australia, shows how some outlaws are made. Where as some like Billy the Kid, were outlaws by choice, Ned Kelly was forced to be one after the local cops wrongfully imprison his mother and friends, and basically put out a bounty for his and his gangs heads. Just because they didn't like him! Heath Ledger is fantastic in this film. This is a very powerful movie, I highly recommend it! Also, some other good true story westerns are Young Guns, Tombstone, Wyatt Earp, and The Assassination of Jesse James.
