Overall, very well done. I didn't know this was one big moive from the second season until i started watching it. Though to my distress, there were 3 errors, one which affected the story line. One, the robotic think tanks, known as Tachikomas, became self aware at the end of the first season and continued to display this quality in the second season. They had their computer 'brains' transferred to a satelite server, which is subtly mentioned in this dvd toward the end. One character, Proto, exclaims, 'you might really have ghosts' referring to their sentience and 'ghost' a parallel to soul. However, this cut really didn't affect story line and really would have detracted from the movie as it pobably would not have been able to be a fully developed subplot. The second error was in which the villain is shown in a security recording attempting to assasinate the prime minsiter. The plot failed, though the main charcters learn of this plot that was kept secret to protect the public image. However in the show, the Section 9 time were the ones who protected the prime minister and caused the would be assasin to flee. As before, this recut sill allowed the story to progress and really didn't take anything away. The third error i found to be problematic, the Individual 11 virus is found to be spread when one reads particular journals of this groups philosophy. When that happens the virus takes over and the person becomes one of the Individual 11. This develpment was left out of the movie, and the 'virus' was only mentioned once in the midst of action which really doesn't allow the viewer to catch on. However, this leaves a lot of questions, as the qould be members of the Individual 11 are all suddenly pulled in without their knowledge. Essentially, anyone could become one of them. These discontinuities aside, i thought it was still well done, and other than learning the names of the characters, anyone can seemingly jump into this dvd without worry. Only fans of the show would really catch on to these omissions, and the plot and intent of the story are really left intact. I just need to buy the first season 'movie' to compliment this one, The Laughing Man.
What's great about it: Second season cut to form an excellent movie
What's not so great: Some continuity errors, two which bugged me
