The Hood bring out the best in white people
on October 4, 2007

This movie is okay, but falls in the same type of movies that came during that time...a white person going to the hood for a better life and a black person trying to leave the hood for a better life. Now there's nothing wrong with that concept, but when its done so much it gets boring. But top everything off little Onyx-Moesha's boyfriend-Bug, from Ride-Q from Sunset Park-Fedro Starr is trying to be a thug. Okay can we get another out-of-work rapper play a better thug, what about Craig Mack
What's great about it: Showing a lighter side of hood life
What's not so great: Fredro Starr as a gangster
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We got served for watching this mess

Okay I'll start off with something nice, the dancing in this movie is on point and that's where it stops for me being nice. This movie was ridiculous. The plot was stupid, the acting was boring, and the chemistry on the set, just sucks. "You suckers just got served," a line from the movie, but is he telling us that we got served for watching this mess
What's great about it: The dancing
What's not so great: Everything else but the dancing

A stellar cast headlines this frenetic sci-fi thriller in the cyberpunk vein of Johnny Mnemonic (1995), arriving on DVD from Warner Home Video. Presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen (enhanced for 16 x 9 TVs) and accompanied by a choice of closed-captioned English Dolby Digital 5.1 or French Dolby Digital 5.1 audio tracks, the disc also features optional subtitles in English, Spanish, or French. Extra features include cast filmographies, an original theatrical trailer, and animated interactive menu selection screens.

Funnier than expected

OKay, wjen I was younger (alot younger), I really liked this movie. Now watching it now, its just funny to watch the version of special effects back then. All in all, this is an okay movie, even though their future (in the movie) is 2009. Doesn't seem too far in the future now
What's great about it: The plot
What's not so great: The 90s version of special effects

I like this movie but it fell short of the greatness that was Young Guns. I guess in the first one you didn't know what to expect, and this one didn't live up to the expectations. I still like though.
What's great about it: The gunplay is still greatness
What's not so great: Man, they killed everybody

Featuring an all-star cast of some of the hottest names of the '80s, Artisan's release of Young Guns offers a solid presentation of the revisionist western in addition to offering a handful of exciting extras. Presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen, this release features audio rendered in either closed-captioned English Dolby Digital 5.1 or Stereo with optional Spanish subtitles. For those looking to take a blast into the past, this release also offers commentary by stars Lou Diamond Phillips, Dermot Mulroney, and Casey Siemaszko, a documentary on the real-life Billy the Kid, a trivia track, a theatrical trailer, and a trailer gallery.

A movie that is as timeless as the Sound of Music, well maybe not that much. This movie is dare I say, "Greatness". The gunplay is just on point, and the cast was just perfect for this movie.
What's great about it: The whole movie
What's not so great: Nothing

The X-Men DVD provides an impressive 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer and THX sound, but the supplementary material feels rushed. While the viewer has the option of watching ten minutes of extra footage reinserted into the film through "extended branching," the transition is not seamless; most of the scenes are from an unfinished working print and are not anamorphic like the rest of the film. The featurette "Mutant Watch" is a television "making of" special that is at least creative in its execution, if not very substantial. Segments from a Charlie Rose interview with director Bryan Singer are also included, but it would have been nice to see the interview in its entirety, while the Hugh Jackman screen test is a feature better placed in the context of a more expansive documentary about the production. The art and animatics galleries feature remarkable concept designs and computer animated storyboards, as well as two hidden "Easter eggs." Highlighting the rose in the trailer menu shows a brief on-set gag involving Spiderman, while Wolverine's dog tags in the art gallery provide concept art for two characters cut from the film. While X-Men has the appearance of a special edition DVD, it will certainly be supplanted by a more authoritative version in the future.

The casting director should get a pay raise for getting more people that look like the characters from the comics.

Loved every minute of this movie, with the mutant vs mutant action, mutant vs human action, special effects, plot, everything. The only problem is that they not establish the younger mutants, because some of these veteran actors may start talking about increasing their pay...hint Halle
What's great about it: The action is on point
What's not so great: Not establishing the younger X-men

The film that established cult director Abel Ferrara as a true master of the crime genre, The King of New York gets the deluxe DVD treatment with this feature-packed Artisan release. Presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen and accompanied by closed-captioned audio rendered in a selection of either English Dolby Digital 5.1 or surround, this disc also offers optional English and Spanish subtitles. Once you've enjoyed the feature, dive headlong into a variety of bonus materials including an audio-commentary track with the director, an audio- commentary track with producer Mary Kane, editor Anthony Redman, composer Joe Delia, and associate producer Randy Sabusawa, a documentary entitled "A Short Film on the Long Career of Abel Ferrera," "The Adventures of Schooly D: Snowboarder," a Schoolly D music video, television spots, and a theatrical trailer.

Laurence Fishburne straddles the fine line between cop and criminal as a determined undercover cop, rising through the ranks of the underworld in order to topple a powerful drug syndicate in this suspenseful thriller from New Line Home Video. Offering viewing options of both the original 1.85:1 theatrical widescreen presentation (enhanced for 16 x 9 TVs) and the standard 1.33:1 full-screen pan-and-scan version, this release also offers both closed-captioned English Dolby Digital 5.1 and Surround audio tracks with optional English subtitles.
