Great mystery

This a great movie with an even better cast that delivers a great performance. Leading the cast are Pulp Fictions star John Travolta and Sammuel L. Jackson, that keeps everyone on the edge of their seats until the end.
Walter Hill reteams with Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy for the action comedy Another 48 Hours, which comes to DVD with a widescreen transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. English soundtracks are rendered in both Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Digital Surround, while a French soundtrack has also been recorded in Dolby Digital Surround. There are no subtitles, but both English soundtracks are closed-captioned. Supplemental materials include the theatrical trailer. This is a fine release from Paramount that boasts excellent sound quality.

Great sequel

A great explosive sequel that has a big twist in the end. They team up again Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte for laughs and action, but their chemistry is what holds this movie down as another great buddy-buddy movie
Louis C.K.'s satire of blaxploitation films, Pootie Tang, comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. Closed-captioned English soundtracks are rendered in both Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Digital Surround. English subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include a theatrical trailer and a music video from 702. This is a film that, with the proper help, could become a cult classic. It is a shame Paramount did not do more with the disc to facilitate that process. As it stands, Pootie Tang will please the film's fans, but does not offer anything special to the average DVD consumer.

Don't take it so serious

This movie was ridiculous is a good way and in a bad way, but wasn't meant to be a great. I love the character, Pootie Tang and took this movie as something to with Chris Rock, because he was at the peak of his career. Just a crazy movie to watch when there is nothing, I mean nothing else on and you wanna laugh. Another movie like Dumb and Dumber, not to be taking serious because it wouldn't win any Oscars
Ben Affleck and Kate Beckinsale are war-torn lovers in director Michael Bay's epic reenactment of the 1941 tragedy Pearl Harbor. Buena Vista has done a great job on this 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer (spread over two DVDs). All aspects of this picture look great, including even colors, dark black levels, and natural-looking fleshtones. Aside of a small amount of edge enhancement during one scene, this is a fine-looking transfer that should please fans. The audio is presented in DTS 5.1 Surround, Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround in English and French, as well as an English 2.0 soundtrack produced for those listening with headphones. The Dolby 5.1 and DTS soundtracks are very full, featuring continuous use of surround sounds throughout the entire film. Bombs and explosions rocket around the viewer through most of the film's running time. All aspects of the dialogue, music, and effects are distortion-free. Also included on this disc are English subtitles. This two-disc Pearl Harbor set, while not jam-packed, includes a few well-produced extra features. Two documentaries, "Journey to the Screen: The Making of Pearl Harbor" and "Unsung Heroes of Pearl Harbor," are both extensive and very informative. The first documentary focuses on the making of the film, which includes interviews with stars Ben Affleck, Josh Hartnett, Kate Beckinsale, producer Jerry Bruckheimer, and most of the main crew. The second feature takes a look at the real Pearl Harbor and includes interviews with survivors from that awful day. The second documentary is easily the more impressive and moving of the two. Finally, there is a music video by Faith Hill for the hit song "There You'll Be," a short promo for National Geographic: Beyond the Movie -- Pearl Harbor, as well as a teaser and trailer for Pearl Harbor. This is a nice, if insubstantial, DVD edition of Pearl Harbor.

All hype but not worth it

Alot of hype about this movie, but it wasn't worth it. Michael Bay is usually good at movie magic, with plot, CGI, and shots, but this one wasn't his best. The only part of the movie that was good was the 20 minute scene when Japan sent the bommers, but after that it fell short. Three hours of story that had nothing to do with Pearl Habor, it was like watching the Titantic. You know what was gonna happen, but it took to long to get it. And when it finally happened, there was nothing else to do but find a way to end.
Henry Silva's somewhat controversial science fiction film Powder comes to DVD with a widescreen transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. An English soundtrack has been recorded in Dolby Digital 5.1, while a French soundtrack has been recorded in Dolby Digital Surround. There are no subtitles, but the English soundtrack is closed-captioned. There are no supplemental materials of any consequence, which is both understandable and disappointing considering some of the concerns raised to the film's studio, Disney.

This is a great movie about acceptance when you are different. A very emotional movie that tells a tale of a kid with skill that no one has ever seen.
I never really watched the tv show, but I saw this movie and now I watch the show almost everyday. Its crazy to how the make fun of the show Cops and just law in forcement itself.
Betty Thomas' biopic of radio star Howard Stern comes to DVD with a widescreen transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. Closed- captioned English soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Digital Surround, while a French soundtrack has been recorded in Dolby Digital Surround. Spanish subtitles are accessible. The lack of supplemental materials is a disappointment, but the quality of the sound and picture on this disc make it worthwhile to anyone interested in the film.

Howard Stern, nothing else to say

If you loved his radio shows and the crazy things he say or do, than watch how the King of Controversy began his career. The highlight of the movie is to see Howard Stern and Paul Giamatti go back and forth.
The inspirational follow-up to Hoosiers, Rudy arrives on DVD with a fine 1.85:1 widescreen anamorphic transfer. There are English soundtracks in Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Digital Surround, as well as a Spanish Dolby Digital Stereo track. English, Spanish, French, Chinese, Korean, and Thai subtitles are accessible. Supplemental features include three exclusive featurettes, an isolated music score, bonus trailers, and talent files. Considering the real-life Rudy is now a motivational speaker, it is a bit surprising there is not more of him on this release; regardless, the DVD will please those who find strength in this heartwarming tale.

The greatest underdog movie

A very emotional underdog movie to watch. Before his role in the Lord Rings movies, Sean Astin was Rudy, a college student who dreamed to play for Notre Dame. Just a great movie
Robert Altman's 1980 live-action adaptation of the classic cartoon Popeye gets its first DVD release with this entry in Paramount's Widescreen Collection. The essentially bare-bones disc features a widescreen transfer that preserves the film's original aspect ratio, English soundtracks in Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Surround, a monaural French-dubbed soundtrack, English subtitles, and no bonus features.

Family fun movie

One of the first to go from the cartoon to the big screen as a live action movie, and was actually pretty good.
This is a great movie, especially if you like those monster movies back in the day (King Kong, Godzilla). The handle-held shots could give you a headache, but it goes with the flow of the movie. I like the way you don't get a chance to see the monster until the middle of the movie
