Not Impressed

I currently have a different model and while I do really like it, it could work little more efficiently with my skin and growth. While I get the job done well in the end, I usually have to go over the spots more times than I'd like with the way my beard seems to grow. My skin is sensitive so it would leave me with a fair amount of irritation as well. This is supposed to focus on these things, so is it an improvement? Yes and no. Either I have the most unusual growing, thickest beard hairs out there or all these shavers are just generally the same no matter how many times they release a new product saying it's new and improved in these areas.
First the good:
Overall it's a really nice design. It's lightweight and has a good amount of texture and grips to reduce the chance of it slipping out of your hand. It absolutely does move smoothly as if it just glides over the skin. I used it both before and after a shower (when your skin is softer) and I had less irritation either way. As Philips usually does, it also came with a really nice case.
Now the not so good:
Unfortunately I still feel like I need plenty of passes, as usual. No matter how much I went over my neck I still felt stubble so it didn't seem to give a completely close shave, either. It didn't fail to still give me a couple of nicks but perhaps it still needs to adjust to my face. The trimmer doesn't work that well. In my experience, they never do. You can't beat a standard beard trimmer. Then there's the app which just doesn't seem useful to me. I feel it has unrealistic expectations. How you use the device all depends on your personal growth so what the app tells you may not be what works best for you. I mean, if it's telling me I took too long and used inefficient rotations yet I spent that time trying to get spots that still just wouldn't cut smoothly, how much is really my fault? If it helps you great but I find it very counterintuitive. Also for those wondering the app to use is called "GroomTribe" which I could not find listed anywhere up front on the site, box or manual. You'd think it wouldn't be a big deal but according to the countless mistaken reviews on their "Lifestyle" app that proves otherwise. Finally, we have the cleaner device. I used the cleaner once for the purpose of this review even though I wouldn't have needed to otherwise for at least a month. After it finishes, they said to leave it on to air dry but it left enough suds in the shaver and on the device that it didn't really dry well so I had to rinse with regular water and air dry it with the head open anyway. I'm left wondering if it makes any real difference rather than just running it under water as normal. Supposedly it also lubricates and prolongs the life of the head but I suppose I'll see in time. It feels like something I rather have paid for separately if I really wanted rather than it being included and increasing the overall price. Luckily the solution is inexpensive.
The bottom line here to me is with the trimmer not being useful, a counterintuitive app and a potentially unnecessary cleaner/solution, you're paying way more for an average product than you need to. I would have given 2.5 STARS but I can't do half stars. I left it at two because there is much to be desired. Maybe someone else will have a better experience but for me, in the end, the whole package just doesn't justify the purchase so to speak.
PROS:
- Light weight with nice grips making it comfortable to hold
- Glides smoothly, less irritation
CONS:
- Trimmer
- Not the closest shave
- Unnecessary accessories/features increasing price

Really Good But Some Give & Take
on November 3, 2020

Starting with the setup, it was fast and easy as usual, at least it always has been for me. I already have a base and two original Arlo Pro cameras and adding this gave me no issues. I linked it to the base, unscrewed & unplugged my previous camera I had mounted on the side of the house outside, screwed and plugged this one in using the existing mount and wire and was done.
As for the positives, I really like the wider angle this offers. I see way more than I previously did with my older model and with less "fish eye" distortion too. Going to 1080p up from 720p does make a pretty significant difference. Although the 720p model was pretty clear considering overall, the 1080p really helps most for nighttime video. Combined with the spotlight that allows for color video you get a good picture at night. Daytime video is great and indeed captures a crisp and clear picture.
Things aren't perfect though. I feel the spotlight is a bit weak. I thought it would be brighter on the outside and as for the video feed itself, I had to turn the camera brightness all the way up to really see anything at night and even then my original Arlo Pro regular night vision may have been better in terms of contrast/brightness and again, that's only 720p. The Essential Spotlight does have a more clear picture though. A trade off of using the color nighttime video feature is things have to be closer to get a more clear look. Details fade over distance quickly. Also, while the color is nice, it's not vibrant. It's a more muted color so don't expect too much on this model.
It's worth noting certain previous features are no longer available. Audio detection is no longer an option and the battery is no longer removable. I don't use the audio detection and nor do I ever need to remove the battery to charge so these are non-issues to me personally. It also came with a free 3 month trial of Arlo Smart which I haven't used before until now and so far I like it although I'm still having issues receiving some notifications. I followed a tutorial and all my settings are indeed correct so hopefully it's just a bug that will eventually get fixed. I'm not sure whether or not I'll keep it but one thing that's worth mentioning is this is one of the last Arlo models that does NOT require Arlo Smart. You still get the rolling 7 day cloud storage which is all I ever need.
Pros:
Crisp picture, wide angle view
Spotlight that allows color picture at night
Still get free 7 day rolling cloud storage (Some models don't now)
Cons:
No audio detection rule
Battery not removable

Better Than Ever

We love the Shark/Ninja brand and the numerous products we have around the house would prove that. One of which is an older model Navigator which we have loved and used for years. It's durable, strong and has gotten the job done well. But a few things about it over time became bothersome like the one downside of it's durability which is the bulky size and heavy weight. Pushing it around the house, especially on carpet, was quite a chore (excuse the pun!). Because of the bulkiness it was more problematic in the kitchen where there are chairs, tables or low hanging cabinetry so you'd bump into things constantly. Cleaning it wasn't too bad but we all know the worst part was the small creature that formed around the brushroll. Between my wife who has long hair and two cats I'm sure others share the pain. Now here we have the new Rotator Lift-Away full of new technology and features, so does it do everything as promised? Absolutely!
DESIGN
All things considering this thing is lightweight for an upright. It's by far the lightest I have ever used, in fact. In addition to this the other thing that stood out the most to me was just how well balanced the whole unit is. Along with the smooth wheels I felt like I was controlling it as opposed to pushing and dragging it making it feel as if it was gliding along the floor. They finally got the hose right, too. Not only does it feel more durable it actually feels like it works with you and not against you. The whole unit just has a very simple and compact design including a spot for your two most used attachments. Other notable design features is a bright light and a long cord.
CLEANING
This thing is powerful. It's so good it may even feel self propelled for some but the design keeps it all fully manageable. The dual brushrolls create a strong suction while the brushes aggravate the floor ensuring it picks up everything. Then there's those Powerfins! It's so simple of an idea yet it apparently completely works. After several uses there is absolutely no hair wrapped up anywhere underneath that I saw. While you'll still have trouble going under larger furniture like chairs and tables because it's an upright, the floor nozzle is lower profile and allows you to better get along edges of walls or under things like cabinetry or couches thus less need to use the wand. The wand itself is simple to release and maneuver and combined with the flexible hose it allows you to quickly throw on an attachment when needed on the go. There's an adjustable suction switch conveniently placed right on the handle that can be quickly changed on the go as well. Using Lift-away mode was also a breeze and made even simpler with the long cord. The attachments stay on straight and don't fall off (like the pet power brush) which is a problem I've had previously in other products when trying to do stairs or couches. Overall you get a powerful clean while the numerous features and great design ensures it's done as efficiently as possible.
Thus far there's nothing here to warrant a con list. The only issue that I even came across is because of where the cord comes out of the vacuum it can knock off the wand attachment if you swing the cord a certain way but they are still more secure than most. This is a common problem among vacuums so it's not too big of a deal.
PROS
- Dual brushrolls offer powerful suction & efficient cleaning
- Ergonomic
- No caught hair!

Great (When Working)
on September 22, 2020
Posted by: SillyTurtle
from Charlotte, NC
I was interested in the generation 1 model for a long time but the inconsistent reviews kept me from buying them. The quality control was apparently very hit or miss, with the same consistent issues being experienced among many people. These are supposed to be new and improved across the board so how did these perform? At first, not good at all. But an update came right before submitting this review and now things are much more improved leaving me to rewrite half my review. Let's start with the better points first.
SOUND
The sound quality is great. You have either regular mode or "Superhuman Hearing" mode which can be changed with a push of a button along with an audio tone telling you which is which although it will be obvious as the latter is much louder. I like to use the regular mode for my single player games and the Superhuman Hearing mode for multiplayer games like FPS. Being able to quickly switch between the two is nice. The headset also has voice announcements telling you things like when it's paired or bluetooth is on/off and you can hear it clearly without even needing to put it on. Using the app you can customize numerous settings like mic monitoring, audio presets (including a custom mode), individual volume and more, creating a fully personal experience. Everyone on chat sounded crystal clear and they said I sounded great as well. There are even a couple of features on the app like Chat Boost and Noise Gate to aid things further if needed.
STYLE/COMFORT
The headset does look really nice. It's snug but also soft due to the pillowy memory foam cushions. It will be very comfortable to most people but for me because I have a lower profile head, it doesn't quite fit and it sits a bit low so it squeezes the sides of my head below my ears a bit. But because it's as soft and comfortable as it is it isn't too bad and I get used to it after some time. Eventually I'll have to do something to help make it sit higher. The microphone is non-intrusive and flips down and up (which also mutes it) with ease. When folded up it even conceals itself within the cup which is really cool.
FEATURES
In my opinion which is the most important, the 20 hour charge claim is accurate so that's great. However I found the bluetooth to be a problematic feature. Once you pair these to your profile and xbox the headset allows you to turn your xbox on by using the power button on the headset itself. I thought once it also turned it off but I can't replicate that so either it's my mistake or maybe I'm doing something different. At first it seems like a nice feature however it conflicts with the bluetooth feature. Because of this you can only ever use the bluetooth features for incoming calls or the use of other devices while playing. Unless you're not near your xbox, you can't just use the bluetooth separately without turning on the headset itself otherwise your xbox will turn on and it will repeatedly be yelling in your ear that it's trying to pair with it because you're out of range. This essentially makes the bluetooth useless if you ever want to use it for other things other than playing like calls or music in your own home. I don't think you can turn the auto-on feature off either but even if you can somewhere that I didn't see, you'd have to choose one feature or the other - but not both. Allowing the bluetooth button to turn on only that part of the headset would have fixed this. Even when you try to update the firmware with your computer it will turn your xbox on so make sure you only do it right before you play.
Of course the main focus was probably to connect with the Turtle Beach Audio Hub app for the extra sound features. According to the app reviews in the Google Play store, it was broken for at least a month with a huge amount of people, myself included, getting the error that no headset was found. Turtle Beach was lucky, I checked one last time to see if the app was fixed before I was about to post this review and sure enough they updated it and now both the headset (see below) and the app works. The app is pretty imperative so I hope I can rely on it in the future. You can only access many of the features through it including the ability to re-map the buttons which is really nice but without a working app half this headset will be unusable.

PROBLEMS
Before the update the audio would cut out constantly as if it couldn't handle the sounds of the game. Additionally, there was also static (or maybe I'd call them popping noises?) at times as well. FAQ tells you things like not to have routers, external hard drives or other devices anywhere near by but you shouldn't have to rearrange your entire house for this headset when all other devices can handle each other just fine. A lot of us have our consoles hardwired so of course it's within 10 feet of a router. The range is also pretty weak and if you step too far away for too long instead of it just reconnecting, you'll have to jump through hoops to reconnect. It's working near perfect as of right now so it seems the app sent a small update to the headset itself even though no formal firmware was released. But now I'm left wondering if the problem will ever return. I am still occasionally getting quick breaks or snaps of static but it's few and far in between and not even that noticeable.
Some things besides the app being unreliable remain a potential problem, though. With my second use my headset refused to turn on at all. I thought it was completely dead even though I started use the day before with a full charge. After 5 minutes it finally decided to work. I also was told I had an invalid serial number when registering my product. The problems just felt endless.
PROS
- battery life
- mappable buttons
- fitted/hidden flip mic
- voice announcements
- bluetooth (when applicable)
CONS
- prone to interference, potential intermittent sound
- various problems (unreliable app, broken registration, not powering on)
- conflicting features (bluetooth)
I was a long time fan. I really liked my X12 and have loved my Stealth X04 since after that. I considered upgrading to full wireless but I skipped Gen 1 because of the reviews. I had high hopes these would have completely fixed the previous issues others often had but I'm left skeptical. Because of the original Stealth 600/700 Gen 1 issues and the issues I was having with this, not only has my trust in the brand been damaged, I may no longer be a return customer. I can understand why their reputation is continuing to go downhill. As for the Gen 2 Stealth 700, between the app and lack of quality assurance, Turtle Beach was not prepared for this release. There is a lot of potential here and hopefully it will continue to be improved to where I can finally trust the product. This would have been a 2 STAR review if it wasn't for the fact they updated the app right before posting. But I still can't give beyond 3 STARS nor recommend it as of right now because of everything else. It has the potential to be 4-5 STARS in time.

Look Out Coffee Shops!
on September 21, 2020
Posted by: SillyTurtle
from Charlotte, NC
I've been wanting an espresso machine for a while now but have always been intimidated by them. They look complicated but according to others they really aren't once you're familiar with them. The Calphalon caught my eye because it looked simple and I also read from previous testers on the Calphalon website that this one is really good for beginners.
First off, the machine makes great espresso. I'm having so much fun making my own drinks and trying different types of grounds and thus far everything has tasted so good. Of course a lot of it depends on you but more on that later. The machine itself looks really clean and nice. It's fairly compact all things considered although it does have a bit of weight to it. It has a place to store the cord inside and a place to put a few of the accessories (but not all, just the pin and filters) so as long as you have room in your cabinet along with the extra items, storing it when not in use is still a viable option. For those who are more familiar with these machines, you may be happy to know the group head and portafilter are commercial sized (58mm) and that it's a 15 BAR pump which I read is considered the top of the game. I'd say the water reservoir is a very respectable size too and I do not feel like I'm refilling it that often. I was surprised when the booklet said to use tap water as well. I would had assumed you would need filtered water only but it's very convenient and helps conserve the filter on my fridge which we already use constantly for regular coffee. I also conserve water in the reservoir by warming up your mug and the group head under hot water from your sink instead of using the "1 shot" like the booklet suggests and then place the mug or glass on the warming area up top.
I definitely have to give props to the instruction booklet that came with it. Not only is it very clear and detailed on how to use the machine, but it also explains how it all works so you understand the 'why' aspect as well. At first, reading through it may seem a bit daunting but don't fret. The only part I had trouble understanding is the tamping of the grinds to the recommended pound force. They say do 20-40lb pounds of force depending on the shot size however I have no idea what that translates into arm strength. After looking up tips online it was explained that the pressure isn't what's important, it's making sure the dose is evenly compacted with no gaps or pockets. With that in mind it made a lot of sense and was easy to do. I've tamped my coffee perfectly each time. It doesn't come with a measuring spoon but fortunately one that came with my regular coffee machine works perfectly. Generally speaking there is work to be done as the machine only does half of it. But like the book even says, practice makes perfect. At the same time, this does allow the user to fully customize to their taste including an option to program your own shot volume which is probably something I may use one day. Continuing to try out different coffees is going to be the most fun. I read any espresso, dark roast or french roast coffee will work the best but you can use anything you want. I made a decaf medium roast double shot Americano that worked out great.
I would say learning to do the milk steaming/frothing took the most practice. The high pitched sound of it surely punishes you if you're doing it wrong. The more I used the machine the more I started making recipe notes for things like ounces of milk and ratios for each drink listed in the booklet. I just wish the stainless steel milk jug had measurements written on it so I didn't have to add a measuring glass to the list of items to clean after.
Overall I only have two minor issues. First is the warming area doesn't really get that significantly warm. Secondly, it takes some power to insert and release the group head. There is really no good place to hold on to the machine when doing so but a fold out handle on the side would have been amazing. My real rating would be 4.5 starts but since we can't do half stars, I think it does enough to earn a 5.
PROS
* Convenient size
* Great instruction booklet full of pictures
* Can be stored
CONS
* Accessory compartment only holds smallest items (only half a con, really)

Good All Around

My intended use for these was something I can use while watching Roku/Youtube on TV/Phone when I don't wish to disturb others. While the ear hooks are intended for activities I still just generally prefer to use them for a more secure fit. But I love having the option to use it with or without the hooks whenever I feel like it. The bluetooth worked flawlessly and they paired with my phone instantly each time which is to my relief because a previous pair of another brand I had for some reason just gave me so many problems. The controls are easy to remember and simple to use which is also unlike my other pair. The connection range seemed strong as well. I left my phone upstairs and walked to the other side of my house on the first floor and it never missed a beat. One big thing I was excited to learn is the device can take calls. I was in need of a new wireless microphone so that was a nice plus.
COMFORT
They are very comfortable. Most of the time I forget they are even on and I didn't feel that fatigued after extended use once I found the correct attachments that fit me best. The only issue I personally had was the middle ear fin pieces don't fit my ear perfectly and stick into me slightly but luckily they are soft and still add nice padding. This is bound to happen to some but it's still not that big of a deal. I also use the smallest ear pieces so it isn't the most secure fit either but the beauty of the ear hooks is that they allow a looser, more comfortable fit to compensate for any issues such as this.
SOUND
Calls/Audiobooks/Media/TV etc - Really good. Everything is crisp and clear. I was told I sounded very good on the other end when I used these for a call, too. I use the ear pieces that allow ambient sound in and everything still remains clear.
Music - Good, but not optimal. If music is your primary use, you may want to consider something else more music oriented. These are much more built for dialogue. It lacks bass, and while the music is still crisp and clear too, don't expect that full "immersion". If music is completely secondary and a full musical experience isn't important than these will do just fine.

BATTERY
It's decent. Packaging is accurate but with a caveat. On the front of the box it says 14 hours. On the back it reiterates 14 hours but with fine print. (up to 4+10 hours). What this means is that it is up to 14 hours including several recharges with the case. I got a consistent 4 hours each charge but it only took a bit over an hour to recharge in the case with 10% left. If completely drained, it would probably take a little longer of course. The website description makes this more clear but it could be easy to miss when picking up the product in store.
PROS
*Best of both worlds - plethora of in-ear attachments in assorted sizes along with the ear hooks ensures you find the best and most secure fit for your needs.
*Water resistant - holds up to sweat and rain.
*Can take calls which is a surprise bonus. Doesn't specifically mention that anywhere that I saw.
CONS
*Requires the push of buttons instead of touch activation resulting in pushing the device into your head. May not be an issue to some.
*Case is larger than others because it has to fit the ear hooks. May or may not be an issue to some.
*Music isn't the priority. Can generally do it all but this is where they make the biggest sacrifice.
This is an all around great device for those whom it is intended for whether it's on the go activities, listening to dialogue based content or phone call usage. I'd recommend for anyone who fits this description. However if your primary focus is music than these aren't right for you.

Light & Convenient
on July 9, 2020

I wasn't sure what to expect from something like this in a cordless form but I am impressed. We all know the cord is the most bothersome thing about using mixers so the obvious appeal is there but of course, how does the rest of the product hold up? Turns out, very well! The power is all there and it still has variable speed settings like your regular mixers yet it's lighter, well balanced and definitely more compact than your average mixers. It's also fairly quiet, too. As for the blades, at first I thought having just the one pair would be disappointing but they made up for it by making them heavier duty and designed in a way that it's multi-purpose so in the end it's actually a benefit. They lock in and pop out nicely. For the few things my wife and I made so far this thing has performed admirably. It certainly whipped heavy cream and cream cheese in no time. It's simplicity allows for even more uses than usual. For example, I usually use a fork to scramble my eggs in a bowl before cooking but I'm not as skilled as others and can only whip it so fast. However this was so easy to grab and use I tried it out and it did the job great. Considering how quick it is to use I just may find myself mixing things more.

PROS:
* Compact & well balanced
* Single set of multi-purpose blades (less attachments to worry about)
* Easy to clean
* Color coded battery indicator light for charging and status
* Charges quickly
CONS:
* Something simple to store the blades/charger would had been nice, but not a big deal.

Good, But Not Great
on December 27, 2019

I never understood how these types of headphones work with the microphone being on the ear piece and I was timid ever trying them. However, I was tired of wires and of the speaker phone both on the handset and in the car when using bluetooth being unreliable at times. I could hear people fine but they sometimes couldn't hear me and I always felt like I had to shout. Fortunately these quickly put my mind at ease, at least for the most part. They're easy to use, comfortable for long periods (eventually, more on that below) and with the included three different size earpieces they ensure a secure fit for anyone. Pairing is fast and the controls are simple as was the initial set-up. Overall the sound is really good but this is where you'll find the majority of the hiccups. For calling, everyone seems to hear me just fine but on my side I would often get interference or the other person's voice would sound a bit synthesized. I mean things are clear enough but it could be better and more reliable considering the price. However, good thing these earbuds are not just for calls. Music and podcasts sound great and super clear. Especially the voice quality, ironically enough. I will agree with what others have said about the bass though, it's indeed not the strongest but it's only a marginal issue. If your main use is music, podcasts or listening to movies then you should feel satisfied.
Now for some things worth noting. It took some getting used to wearing them but eventually you get used to them to the point you will forget they are there. The best way to explain it is there is a feeling of pressure in your ears. It also takes some getting used to aligning and putting into your ears correctly. Pairing to another phone didn't go all that smoothly. It wasn't self explanatory and I needed to refer to an online guidebook to get it working. In the end I'd recommend however with caution.
PROS:
* Music/podcasts/movies sound great.
* Great noise canceling.
* Comfortable even in prolong use.
* Easy to use, fits securely.
* Great battery life, case gives an extended charge.
CONS:
* Call sound quality is inconsistent.
* Lack of bass.
* Price.

Great For a Small At-Home Office!
on December 9, 2019

I've been looking for a replacement for my current device since it wasn't doing the job I need, even though it had a HEPA filter and this product doesn't. The MyAir turned out to be just what I needed. I work from home and sometimes eat in my office as well does one of my cats almost daily. The smell of both our foods tend to linger and candles or scent sprays only temporarily fix the problem. Since turning on this unit not only have I noticed the clean air but my wife especially too. No longer does she walk in saying "this room smells!" which is thanks to the included carbon layer in the filter I'm sure. Pet dander is also an issue for me and over the years I have become more allergic to it. Because of the time both my cats spend in my office with me I'm usually more congested or sneeze often in the room. So far, I no longer have felt these problems since. I usually avoid products with filters and go for something I can just clean and reuse but considering the multi-layer filter actually works, it having a notice light on the display telling you when to change the filter and the price of replacement filters being reasonable, the overall effectiveness and convenience makes it worth it. I guess HEPA filters really aren't always essential. While it's only been a little more than a week and difficult to say for sure, I do feel like less dust is culminating on my desk/items than usual as well. Of course it being an office full of electronics it's like a magnet so I'm constantly vacuuming and dusting so hopefully it continues to help. Overall the air really does just feel fresher.
The only major disappointment is although the unit is quiet in low power mode, it sounds no different than sleep mode to me. I wish the low power was at a speed faster/stronger than it is now but slower than high. It feels more like there is only 2 speeds as opposed to 3. I would think the cleaning strength is higher the faster/harder the unit is working which is why I feel this is an issue. The only other issue I found, although minor, is the display is very dark and hard to see. Additionally, the nightlight is tied to the backlight in the display meaning you can only have both the nightlight and the full button display on or both off which is a weird oversight. The only light on the display that stays on is the nightlight button even when the light is not in use. A whole display backlight that stays on, even if it was dimmer, would had made more sense to me.
PROS:
* Triple layer filter including carbon which is essential for reducing odor.
* Scheduling time-off feature.
* Quiet on the slower speeds (just a "white noise").
* Nightlight is an added bonus.
CONS:
* Display only lights up with nightlight on making it hard to see buttons.
* Sleep mode and low power mode seem like they have no discernible difference.

Simple, Sounds OK But Has Issues
on October 16, 2019

This is my first soundbar. I've never had any issues with any of my TVs in the past and was never much into surround sound nor felt like a soundbar was necessary. However while my current TV has been great, it does have a couple of occasional sound issues when playing movies, streaming and watching regular TV that I've finally had enough of. Despite my disappointing experience over several days working with this soundbar, it does sound really good overall but the subwoofer leaves something to be desired. In the end it does solve my problems and fits my sound needs. I probably would have preferred to pay more money for something that avoids these issues or even supports HDMI, though. I'd also be wary of recommending this to anyone based on my experience. Below is a quick rundown of the review otherwise read on after for more detail.
PROS:
* sound IS crisp and clear (which is most important) for TV/movies, (just pretty good streaming music with bluetooth)
* product itself looks good, blends into the furniture well
* basic set-up is easy
CONS:
* subwoofer is underwhelming
* knowledge beyond manual to optimize use
* potential audio sync issues
* component or optical connections only
Starting off, everything was very easy to connect and set-up. You plug things in, change the setting on your TV or device to use audio out and you will have sound. The 3 pre-sets on the remote are pretty useful although I think "theater" has the best range and sounds the best overall and "standard" normalizes the sound which is good for TV. "News" is supposed to be better with dialogue but I prefer the others. Overall I think TV and movies sound really good and music through bluetooth sounds just pretty good. I strongly suggest using "theater" only for music to get the most out of it. For basic set-ups (single device) you won't have to do much to optimize settings but with multiple devices things become a bit more complicated. Other than telling you how to connect the soundbar and to change your TV to "PCM" mode, the manual's helpfulness ends there. For someone who is new to soundbars and such I had to find my own way through all the settings of my blu-ray player, TV and cable box, along with the internet, to get everything working as smooth as it can be. That's fine since I'm capable but it may be trouble for others. Unfortunately though my finagling of the settings was half because of issues setting up the soundbar itself for my needs.
My first problem was trying to program the soundbar to a universal remote. First I tried to add it to my cable box remote. NO codes would work nor could the auto program find a code. After a lot of tries I found a workaround to finally get it programmed . The soundbar wouldn't turn off with the cable remote but I could at least change the volume. However no matter how much I messed with the audio delay setting on my TV, I had inconsistent audio delay problems that I couldn't 100% resolve. I could get it very close where it was still a smidge off but once I would even get it ok, it would be off the next time I turn the unit on again. Then I tried programming everything to just my Samsung TV remote instead which fortunately has it's own set-up. The auto programming failed here as well so I had to manually add the model for it to finally find and connect the soundbar to it only to realize I have no DVR button on this remote so this set-up wasn't viable. I may have had audio delay issues here too but I can't remember. I gave up and reverted back any programming where I have to use the separate remotes. The audio delay is seemingly fine now although I think the soundbar has to be turned on before the TV to avoid issues. I'm considering a third party universal remote but I worry if it would even work. Additionally one other minor issue I have is for some reason the "on/off" button on the soundbar remote is fickle with how precise it needs to be pointed at the sensor to work meanwhile all the other buttons work fine.
After all this, I had to go into my cable box and change a few more settings to optimize the sound. Everything was good with the soundbar now but I thought I was having problems with the subwoofer. I spent half my time on the floor next to it while watching a movie trying to mess with my blu-ray settings wondering why it seemed to not be working. After some time I realized it just isn't very audible even with the low frequencies. You have to put your ear to the back of it to even know it's doing anything which is how I made sure it was working at all. Even turning the bass up all the way up on the remote didn't seem to do anything no matter what device I was on. My last issue, although it's probably just be me, I find the light on the soundbar a bit distracting. I wish it could be turned off and only flash when buttons are pressed or was more dim.

panasonic is making a comeback
By decoylogic
I waited a month before writing this to make my review as fair as possible.
Pro's:
+ excellent picture
+ easy remote navigation
+ great price
+ easy setup/menu navigation
+ decent apps/fast browsing
Cons:
- Panasonic's software has a hard time syncing/mirroring with our samsung phones. It's only connected once since I've had it.
-no software updates (as of right now. Hoping there will be in the future)
In all, for the price it's a fantastic tv. We bought a panasonic smart bluray player and that solved the mirroring issue.

Possible Firmware Update
March 30, 2015
I will probably be purchasing the TV myself and I only came across this because I was researching info but it looks like a firmware update is on the Panasonic website. (Firmware version 2.096) Perhaps it's the version the TV ships with but figured I would post and let you know. :-)

Make sure you have a compatible headset before buy
By finalfantasy from myrtle beach sc
I used it with the 360 turtle beach x12. If you have the controller plugged in to a play and charge at the same time, your friends will hear the static sounding feedback. The volume and chat had to be adjusted and tinkered since it was on the pad and turtle beaches. I seriously thought about getting a compatible xbox one headset instead when it goes on sale. So beware while it works, to me it wasn't the greatest.

Just curious, did you change the camera video quality in "Video Settings" to best video? There is a slider that balances quality vs battery. Default I think is the middle (optimized).

Best of Both Worlds
By SillyTurtle from Charlotte, NC
Before you do anything, run the Dell SupportAssist program and click the link for Drivers and Downloads. Find your service tag under the flap on the back of the device and type it in to get the updates for your device. I agree with others that have mentioned this as these updates do seem to fix most of the major issues for people. Two of which I had experience with myself but I’ll come back to that later.
Let’s get to all the good things first. The first notable thing is the quality of the device itself. The body, the feel and the look of the XPS is beautiful. It looks and feels extremely well made and durable yet at the same time it’s still very light and portable. It's small without feeling small considering the high resolution. The display itself looks amazing and the sound quality of the stereo speakers is impressive (at least to me). I didn’t expect this thing to output such good sound but it surely did to both me and my wife. I love the large 2 in 1 touchpad with the built in buttons. I found it very comfortable and intuitive and I think I like it better than any previous laptop I have used. To top it all off, having a backlit keyboard is SO convenient and makes me never want to use another similar device without it. One of the biggest things I’m a stickler for with keyboards is how they feel. When I use one I either like it or I don’t and fortunately I really do like this one. The keys feel good, are quiet and laid out nicely where I never miss a key.
The next notable thing to mention is the touchscreen since that is half the device’s appeal. After playing with Windows Ink, playing a touch intensive xbox game off the windows store and using it for general tasks, my wife and I have found it to be flawless. It’s extremely responsive to the T (literally). Windows Ink allows you to draw, paint, write and take notes at any time including whatever is on your screen almost instantly. There are plenty of programs just for it in the store that extends its capabilities whether it’s creating a cell animation for fun or professional use. Windows Ink seems full of possibilities and I’m sure I will continue to find new ways to both make good functional use of it and a little fun. I saw you can get special stylus pens with buttons that utilize the Bluetooth compatibility which I bet offers a ton of potential uses. Flipping it from laptop to tablet is seamless and just allows full freedom to use in any way you currently please. I enjoy using it like a hybrid with a combination of touch screen and keyboard. When I’m in the mood and I only use it in tablet form the touch keyboard is more than capable. Plus however you fold it, it stays. Overall this XPS is fast, intuitive and an all-around great device.
Now - the two things I personally had issues with that I previously mentioned was the fingerprint reader and the dynamic backlight control feature. Originally there was no option to turn off the DBC which automatically adjusted the screen brightness based on what you were doing in order to save battery. I, like many other people, find this feature bothersome. Dell was great enough to add this option in an update so now you may turn it off. For those I saw who said they still had the problem after installing it, if it only happens when using Microsoft Edge then make sure you have the browser setting for “reading view style” to default. I believe this is what I changed (I had it on light) to stop it from auto adjusting during internet use. If I’m mistaken than I apologize. As for the fingerprint reader I had some issues using it. I ran through the calibration twice too. My wife had no issues whatsoever with it so the problem was isolated to just me. Perhaps it had something to do with the size of my finger plus some user error but ever since the update it has been good since.
Aside from that, here are my perceived shortcomings of the device. By far my biggest gripe is this thing isn’t easy to open. Opening any device should never be a struggle and at times you really have to put a lot of effort into opening it. All it needed was a slight, unnoticeable crevice/indent on the edge below the touchpad to get that small bit of leverage. It didn’t have to be much. It’s an odd thing to have a problem with on an expensive device like this although you could consider it very minor in importance. I much rather have this be an issue over something that affects performance. Secondly, the camera is located below the screen which is a new experience to me. I played with it once and found it a bit awkward and troublesome to get a good angle to take my profile picture. I’m sure with some practice I could make it work eventually but I just went with an image instead in the end. Putting the camera on the bottom like this was a compromise for size efficiency and to get the biggest screen possible. Something always has to give in instances like this and I believe it was a smart move but nonetheless, an accepted (and doable) flaw. Thirdly, I still can’t gauge how good the battery life is. I think I can get 6-7 hours of regular use, non-video, which is pretty decent although it seems lower than the description states. After I did the updates it seemed to definitely improve though. But like someone else mentioned it seems to drain when it’s closed and in standby mode. Also the “time remaining” doesn’t seem that accurate as the time drops a lot more rapidly regardless what it says which someone also mentioned. I could have missed an update and will go back and make sure I have everything so if anything changes I will update this part of the review after further use. Lastly, the fingerprint reader is very difficult to see in low light conditions. A slight superficial colored border or a change in the shade of black would have sufficed to find it quicker without squinting. I can't give half stars and it would be unfair to lower this to a four as I'd give it a 4.5. It's a definite 5 if none of this stuff matters to you for sure.

UPDATE
May 11, 2017
I can't update reviews directly so I'm adding a comment. While the battery life is still decent, I would have expected a lot longer for the price. I keep it on 10% brightness with battery saver on which is the only way to get a real extended use. The average for actual use (music, windows games... and while I have yet to test it, movies I'm sure) and normal (non battery saving) brightness is still 6-7 hours it seems. There are a lot of variables that can prolong or decrease the life but I didn't think I'd have to worry so much about it at this price point. I'd probably lower the score to 4 STARS like many other people have based on similar reasons. But again, if some of the things I mentioned don't bother or effect you that much then it's 4 STARS +.

Take in the scenery with this Parrot ANAFI drone. The robust, compact design lets you carry it wherever the trail takes you, and the drone unfolds easily when it's time for flight. The camera captures beautiful 4K images and video, and this Parrot ANAFI drone keeps your footage smooth with its three-axis image stabilization.Fly Responsibly:Before takeoff, update all software and firmware, and read the instructions thoroughly.See the FAA website for registration requirements and information about flying a drone safely: https://www.faa.gov/uas/getting_started/. Additional state or local requirements may apply. Check your local jurisdiction. The following websites may help you make informed decisions about flying your drone: www.knowbeforeyoufly.org and www.modelaircraft.org.

I am looking to get a new Drone for outdoor flying. Should I consider this one or the DJI? I will be mostly inspecting the roofs for my clients so I need an hour or so of battery life (I will buy additional batteries). I may wish to record indoors too.

I think the 180 degree camera swivel is a key feature that makes this drone stand above when it comes to functional use. When you combine that with the 2.7 lossless zoom you can get pictures and angles of areas you can't with any other drone. I don't know anything about other drones though but based on principal alone, since this is the first drone to offer such things I don't see how others could pull off what this one can. Not to mention the compact design that makes this easy to travel with. It says 25 minute battery life so with a second battery you will get closer to an hour. I also don't see why you wouldn't be able to charge the drone in the car as you drive around to clients to extend that further.

NAT Type with Motorola SB6183

I bought a Motorola SB6183 and the connection speed to the internet has been great but the connectivity to my PS4 has not been great. When I hook directly into the Surfboard it gives me a NAT Type-1 which I am guessing is causing problems with the connectivity. Is there any way to change this on a Surfboard?
I'm only familiar with xbox but I assume it's similar, does Sony offer the ports for you to open (port forwarding) in your router to open your NAT? I would try looking into that.

Why dose it look so blury...i just got it today

I just posted a review but in short, get a good HDMI cable the SUPPORTS 120Hz, It will say if it does on the back of the box. It can look really bad after awhile (sometimes instantly for some) without one that does support it. But its a world of difference with a good cable!
