This software goes beyond anti-virus protection to provide a more comprehensive product for the devices it is installed on. Anti-virus software alone just isn't enough anymore- there are too many ways a computer or other device can become compromised. It's not that recent, but it's seems that the harmful malware, viruses, spyware, and ransomware, are more complex and pervasive than the products we can buy to protect against them. Ransomware in particular is a huge issue, that has made it into the news as well. Systems can be easily reinfected even when the demands are met. Another issue is protecting your system from threats found in emails that seem legitimate, but actually allow others to access your files, personal and financial information, and even damage your system from inside.
This software from Malwarebytes adds a very effective layer of cybersecurity for three devices for a year. It works with PCs, along with Mac and Android devices. It protects from all different malware, not just viruses. It protects from emails that might contain harmful things too. It removes potentially harmful programs that can affect whatever you're doing on the computer, especially when online. It's very easy to install, and the default setting already sets up regular scans and protections for your device, and updates automatically too. You can also adjust the settings for your own preferences. Best of all- it doesn't slow your device while it's working, which is a great reason to try this out. I use multiple programs at the same time, and I didn't notice any impact after installation. It's also affordable. I recommend this software to protect your personal information from a wide range of threats. I've only used it a week, but didn't find any problems with performance.

I've used Razer products before, so I was excited to try out this new headset. They exceeded my expectations with the quality of the sound and the overall comfort of the headset.
These are one of the best headsets I've used, and they're not too expensive either. I like that they're multi-platform. While designed for gaming, you're not limited to one or two devices. It worked just as well with PC, especially with the included USB sound card, and phone as it did with the PS4. I spent most of the time (only had these a couple of days so far) on the console, and the sound is incredible. It's so clear that I could hear other players and still hear gameplay. Often I'll have to pause the game if I'm talking to someone, or I lose some of what they're saying, and I didn't have that issue with these. I also noticed how clear the mic is too; it's designed for minimal voice distortion and the difference was noticeable.
The first thing that caught my attention when I started using them is how light and less bulky these are compared to my other headsets. They still feel well made, like they will last a while, but comfort when wearing for hours is really important. These didn't even need a few days to break them in. The cushions were so comfortable and breathable, without my ears getting too warm or the headset feeling too tight.
The best features are the sound quality and noise cancellation. I couldn't hear someone talking to me in the room until I lifted one earpiece. My only issue with these is that the cord seems a little too short. It is almost six feet, so it's not that short, but I would have liked just a little more length. These come with a pouch to keep them dust free, and to hold the removable mic and sound card when not in use.

This Mr Coffee 5 cup coffee maker is a good little machine. It's pretty basic, fill the reservoir with water, put a filter and coffee in the basket, and push the Brew Now button. You'll have fresh coffee in a short time. The whole top lifts and the basket and water reservoir are underneath, rather than two separate lids.
It's not quiet, but not noisier than the usual gurgling that indicates it is brewing coffee. It doesn't have the option to pause and get a cup, but I don't use that anyway. It does have a Brew Later button. If the time is set (manually) on the clock, you can set a timer for brewing at another time, an essential feature for me. It also has automatic shut off, which is a very helpful feature- most coffee makers do, but some of the inexpensive ones still don't, and this has that safety feature. I also used it for hot water for tea, leaving the basket empty, and it works well for that. It's small, saving space on the counter, and black to match other appliances. Overall, it functions well and exceeded my expectations.

The Microsoft Surface Book 3 is a laptop that can also be used as a tablet, by detaching the screen from the keyboard. This is larger than the average tablet, but one can briefly adjust to that very minor first impression and appreciate how versatile that makes this device. It’s as simple as clicking a button to detach, and then it reattaches itself when the connections are back together. I’m back and forth between my laptop and tablet (or desktop and tablet), often working from both at pretty much the same time. This eliminates much of my need for that. Portability is an important consideration, but this laptop has so much to offer – most importantly the power and speed of its components. I didn't have any issues with setup or use- it's pretty much ready to go out of the box, and the added software downloaded so quickly I was able to start using it in a surprisingly short time.
When working on a design program, such as Illustrator, you create shapes and lines. You then manipulate those shapes to create—a poster, a landscape, a logo, a human face; the more complex the desired result, the more shapes and lines needed to get there. As you make a piece, you can end up using an innumerable amount of separate objects to make one object or one layer. It takes time and patience, but also the technology to keep up with it, even when you already have the assistance of the design software. With the many objects and layers, it’s a lot of information for a computer to process. With a less powerful computer, this often leads to lagging or in some cases freezing up. I’ve had it happen in the past where I lost some progress on my work because I was using a slower computer that could not keep up with the requirements of the project I was working on. This computer has none of those issues. Everything was processed and rendered instantly; its ridiculously quick. Even when you first start the laptop up, its ready to run instantly, no hesitation, with a quick setup process. I started with Illustrator, working on one piece with hundreds of different layers and objects and colors, working on it for almost 8 hours and not once did it slow down or falter. The battery wasn’t even dead- which is another key point, the long battery life; this can keep up with the work, and not need recharging as often as one might think for the amount of time spent on it.
As someone who is something of a traditionalist when it comes to computers, I never considered using a computer with touch-screen capabilities for programs such as Illustrator and Photoshop. The ability to select, adjust, and move objects with my fingers while still accessing hotkeys on the keyboard added a whole new layer of depth. It also made it a lot more tangible and enjoyable. The Pen tool is one of the most important tools on Illustrator because it allows you to draw your own object of whatever shape or size you want. However, using the pen tool with a mouse and keyboard, isn’t everyone’s forte, and takes some practice. Having the alternative of touching the screen to adjust the lines as you’re drawing saved a lot of time and effort. I couldn’t believe what a difference it made to the whole process. I was able to incorporate my usual methods in a new way by adapting to the capabilities of this laptop. And that’s just Illustrator. The same is true of Photoshop and Lightroom, although I didn’t spend nearly as much time with those programs, as I wanted to complete this review in a short period of time. I expect that I will find even more to like as I continue to use this, as I am impressed with everything I have seen so far.
In addition to the designing software, I wanted to really test how much the computer can handle in a different environment – for play, instead of work. I downloaded an online PC game, increased the graphics and frame rate quite a bit, and had some fun. Not once did the laptop stutter or slow down. It handled the massive open expanse of the game, every little detail, far better than the console equivalents, and even better than most gaming PCs I’ve used. This is a great product with incredible speed and power. Clearly, the intent of the device is for power hungry programs in a work environment, whether your day job or a hobby you’re passionate about. Professional users can rest easy that the features, particularly the quad-core Intel processor, will not let them down. It also has 32 GB RAM, and NVIDIA Graphics, which add to the overall speed and visual experience. Even if you’re just using it for your personal photographs or designing projects on the side, those users will also be happy with the capabilities for any program that they choose. You don’t need to have advanced computer skills to use this device either; if you don’t need all of the features of this, there are other models to choose from, although this has an incredible combination of specs. It does not have an optical drive (typical of this sort of device) but does include an SD card slot. There is also an app in the Microsoft Store to connect to your phone. This allows you to see what is visible on the phone screen, as well as respond to messages from the Surface. I didn’t have to switch to my phone, just replied to the message and went back to what I was doing on the laptop. I cannot wait to see what else I can do with this over a longer period of time.
The overall design of the product is sleek and elegant while remaining durable for long term use. The hinge looks quite different when you first see it, but it works great. It actually feels sturdier with this than a lot of other laptops. The only thing I thought was missing was that, at this price point, it should have the pen included. It did fine without it, and might not be needed, but I was surprised it was not part of the package. All in all, this is an excellent laptop with countless bells and whistles to make it well worth the investment. This device was provided through TIN. This soundbar with the components that come with it is easy to set up, but you do need to follow directions (just pointing out for those of you more experienced with electronics- review that part before setup). This is mostly to ensure that the system is connected and plugged in in the right order; pay attention to the part of the directions about connecting, because it’s easy to think you need to do all the steps; it shows three different methods for connecting to the TV, HDMI or optical or a wireless connection. It comes with the HDMI cable, and wires for the small speakers, but you’ll need an optical cable if you choose that option. The subwoofer connects wirelessly. These directions are very clear; a lot of today’s devices send you to a website or app for additional instructions, and this was not the case here.
This product comes with the soundbar, the subwoofer, the receiver, the two smaller speakers, a remote, the batteries for the remote, cables/wires mentioned above, all the power cords, and pieces to wall-mount the small surround sound speakers. I didn’t need anything else, not even tools to put it all together, following the instructions that came with it. It looks good but does not stand out after it has all been all set up. I tucked the receiver, which is slim, only a couple of inches wide, to the side on a shelf, and it’s fairly discreet. One of the surround sound speakers is on an upper shelf where it sits among the more colorful items on that shelf and the other is off on the other side. The subwoofer is bigger than I expected, but it still doesn’t take up much space. I like that it all kind of blends in with the rest of the décor, although the set is an attractive matte black if you’re looking at all the components.
The first thing I noticed is how heavy the soundbar is when I first removed it from the box. It is longer and heavier than any soundbar I’ve handled before. It is as wide as the TV it’s sitting in front of, and cannot fit underneath most TVs. The sensor on the TV I have is on the bottom, and when sitting back on the couch, it was slow to respond at times. I was able to lift the TV up about two inches and that solved that issue, without having to invest in stands or anything else. If your TV is wall mounted, that won’t be an issue. I like that the soundbar came with everything that I needed. I can still control the volume with the TV remote, but can also use the remote that came with it, and have to use that remote to make other changes to the system.
I did have to turn the bass down at one point. Someone was playing a video game, and it sounded like there was thunder in the living room, and then I realized it was because it was switched from TV viewing to a gaming system without turning the volume down, and the bass was turned up too much on top of that. When the overall volume and bass were reduced, the sound was perfect for that game. We weren’t used to the full surround sound where the whole room seems part of it. The Dolby Atmos and DTS- what Samsung calls True Surround Sound- are the sound technologies combined to provide a truly immersive experience, for more enjoyable gameplay, and an amazing experience for watching TV and movies- just make any minor adjustments for personal preference, and you can hear the depth it adds to the sound when watching anything you have on. Turn off the lights, and it’s a home theater experience in one setup.
The Samsung remote only controls the soundbar, and volume for the TV, but cannot be used to do anything else, so it does add another remote to the living room setup. It would have been nice to have a universal remote that controls the soundbar and the TV, if nothing else, especially since this is not an inexpensive product; I don’t consider that really a ‘con’ against this item, since it more than makes up for such a minor point with the caliber of the components, and the outstanding sound quality of the whole system. I highly recommend this soundbar.

My place has a carpet that's kind of a darker beige, not tan, so every little thing shows up on it-- not as bad as if it were lighter, but it's proving hard to keep clean. The Hoover SmartWash Pet Carpet Cleaner has made such a difference. This product refills the spot chaser wand, for pretreating areas. It does a great job of making the stains disappear even quicker than without pretreating. It's important to vacuum first, then use the carpet cleaner. This Oxy Spot treatment solution only needs ten minutes or so on the area before using the machine on it. The spots disappeared almost completely on the first pass and were gone by the time I was done. Even the area that someone vomited on (due to illness) after drinking some kind of red/pink liquid was returned to the same color as the original carpet. If you have pets or kids, this is a great option for your carpet cleaner, as spot treatment makes it possible for stains to be removed without having to get down and scrub at them, and without costly rented machinery. It's not a huge container, but it's only for the wand, not to replace the main cleaning solution. The 'Oxy' part refers to the advanced treatment of stain and odor removal, and it does that with this product. I only had to treat each area once, and the carpet cleaner (with its usual solution) did the rest, but this definitely did the job. I'm happy with the results.

I was surprised at first by how powerful this cordless stick vacuum is, and then by how long the battery life is. I've used other cordless stick vacs that worked great, but didn't have enough battery life. It's to be expected with cordless; you sacrifice for the convenience of not having a cord. But this one didn't have that issue. I was able to continue for a while and it was still going, but I was done. It kept at the same level of suction from what I could see. I could have switched the battery out for a second one and kept going.
I even vacuumed the edges of the room, getting the corners too, and then the vent cover for the central air unit, located on the ceiling of my place. I thought my arms would get tired, but it's definitely light enough to do that and other areas with little effort. I used the brush attachment for those, and it did a great job. I used the included upholstery tool for the couch, which worked great. I thought it would be a little heavy for those tasks, since the whole device is supported, but I didn't have any problems, even doing the corners and edges of the ceiling.
It came with everything to get started, including two rechargeable ONEPWR 3.0 lithium ion batteries, and a small battery charger, a wall mount, and three tools that can be used in place of the main floor attachment. It can also be used as a hand held. I only used that way once, but it worked well too. The batteries have a place on the top where you can press and it'll show you how much charge is left; when the vacuum is on, you can see that on the front of the device, so you know when it's getting low.
When I unpacked each piece, there were removable stickers (that did not leave any residue behind- thank you for that!) labeling parts and giving a few instructions. There's also a quick start guide, which was not as helpful as the user manual, as it didn't show assembly. It looked easy to figure out, but wanted to check first. It makes sense in that the way you think things go together is how they actually fit, very easy to assemble and only a few parts. They snap easily into place and stay secure. A push of a button and those same parts come off easily. It didn't seem like any of these parts would come off unexpectedly. It is very well designed. The dirt cup comes off with a slight pull and then you push the button on it, and can empty it right out in the trash. I was surprised how much it picked up- it was full of dirt/dust and pet hair, but continued to work well. I had to empty it once due mostly to the amount of pet hair, which is always an issue. I have another vacuum specifically for households with pets; this won't quite replace that but it comes close. Although if I got this one first, I would probably not look further.
I was really impressed with what a good job this did on multiple surfaces. It is top heavy, and wouldn't stand on it's own, but that's why there's a wall mount. That will keep it out of the way between uses. I'm very happy with this vacuum especially since it's so much easier than the full sized one, and I don't have to move the cord around.

This charger works with the ONEPWR batteries that come with Hoover ONEPWR devices. They have multiple devices, and different batteries, although I've only tried one. I have the 3.0 Ah lithium batteries. This charger charges two batteries side by side, with indicator lights in the front to show status of batteries. It charges up quickly. I didn't time it, but it says it charges in three and a half hours or less. I would like to mention that it will charge the first battery fully before charging the second, which is a great feature. I can always have a spare battery charged up, and can then recharge them both again when I'm done. Or just charge one battery if that's all I need to.
It comes with the charger, power cord, and a user guide. It does not include the batteries, which come with the main device or can be purchased separately. This can be mounted on the wall for convenience, and has a cord of decent length. If you have any of the compatible devices, this is a great accessory to have with it.

The Coravin Model 5 SmartClamps wine preservation system is an ingenious device that allows users to pour wine a glass at a time without oxidation of the remaining wine in the bottle. It resolves a common problem for wine drinkers, keeping wine tasting the same from the first time a glass is poured to the last of the bottle.
It claims that it keeps the wine preserved for months, not just days as most other products do. It definitely does for several days, which is how long I've been using it, although I can't attest to longer than that. I did find an article where this claim was supported by a large group who tested this out, done by wine sommeliers and aficionados, so I expect it's accurate.
It looks a little complicated but is actually mostly assembled and very easy to use. It's not heavy or bulky, looks sleek, and feels well made, like it will hold up well with continued usage. The user manual identifies the different parts, and the steps to prepare and use the device, as well as how to maintain it and some troubleshooting if you run into a problem, such as when the capsule is empty.
The way it works is that a long needle goes through the cork and when you quickly push the trigger, some of the argon gas from the capsule goes into the bottle. This pushes some wine out when you tilt it over your glass. It takes a few times to get enough in the glass. Then the bottle is turned back upright. When you're done with that bottle, you pull the device straight up, holding both the handle and the wine bottle. This removes the needle, letting the cork reseal. There's no need to open the bottle. The cork stays in, and no oxygen gets in the spoil the flavor of the wine. You can store the bottle until you want another glass. It's a great concept that Coravin has been using for years, with improvements made to it's recent models. The Model 5 comes with everything you need to start, except the wine. It comes with a cap that can be used with a screw top bottle, but is intended for use with natural cork, which will reseal when the needle comes out.
I had no problems with any of the bottles I used it on, and the size of the bottle or type of wine made no difference; it poured the same way for each. There was a warning not to use with champagne. It's easy to use, easier for me than taking out the cork, and we don't have to drink the same wine or finish one bottle before opening the next. It clamps to the bottle securely but pulls off with little effort. They use a medical grade needle so it slides in smoothly without damaging the cork. There's an option on their website for a larger needle to pour a little faster. I might try that when it's time for this one to be replaced, but the one that comes attached does a good job. It comes with three canisters of the argon gas, which is safe, tasteless and odorless, so it doesn't alter the taste of the wine. There's even a pouch to put the device in.
This is a an impressive device, but there is the consideration of the price. For a wine lover- which is who this device is meant for- it's an investment, with the understanding that some parts will need replacing, specifically the needle and capsules. These can be purchased in multiple places online. There's even a local store whose website shows items in stock. The prices are about the same as on the Coravin website; you probably won't find them much cheaper. If you register your device and sign up for free, Coravin will send offers to your email, which might make them the better option. If you think this is expensive, consider what this system gives you. You don't have to pour out unfinished bottles or wait for an occasion to open a bottle. Theragun makes a variety of products, depending on what you want from a device and how much you want to spend. This has a lot of features and I've seen it on sale too. This was the one I wanted after reading about several different versions. While at first I considered the mini, this was my first choice. It's a Smart Percussive Therapy Massager that does come with a protective case that holds the device on one side, perfectly shaped to tuck it back in, and has two lightly padded mesh pouches with straps to hold the charger (power adapter) in one, and the five attachments that come with it on the other side. The whole case is not that big, and really could go with you if you wanted.
The Theragun uses a patented design, referred to as an ergonomic multi-grip, where the main part is triangular and is easy to hold onto and maneuver. It's designed to be held in different positions and not slip out of your hand, even at the highest setting. It has 5 speeds, from 1750 to 2400 percussions per minute. There's one preset routine on the device, and more can be found through the app.
That's another key feature, the app you can download by scanning the included QR code. This app provides a variety of additional features, with all sorts of routines you can select from, such as by the body part you want to focus on, or an activity you might use this before or after. It shows which attachment to use and when you hit play, it takes you through each timed step by showing what direction to move the massager in, with diagrams from A to B, and how long in each spot. I found this especially helpful as I get used to the new device. You can also customize your own routine.
I was surprised at how quiet it is. It's so powerful, but really quiet. When I went back to their website, it mentioned that the motor is insulated to make it much quieter than previous models. It also said it makes less noise than your toothbrush and they are right. I don't need it to make more noise when it does such a great job. I can listen to something else the whole time.
After only a few uses, I can feel the difference in several areas, including one lower leg that had been bothering me for a couple of days. The five attachments are easy to switch out, and are made of a durable, antimicrobial material that is easy to keep clean- important in something that comes in direct contact with skin.
This device is bluetooth enabled (connects to app) and says it can be charged wirelessly, but it charges with the adapter in less than 90 minutes and then lasts longer than that. This means you won't have to recharge it every time you use it, and can get about 2 hours of total use before charging it again. The small OLED screen above the power button shows when it's connected, remaining battery life, speed, etc. I expect to get a lot of use from this device, and recommend getting this Smart enabled model since it also includes the case and attachments, everything you need to do massage therapy on your own.
