The Best Monitor I've Ever Used Hands Down!!

The Samsung 55’ Odyssey Ark Gaming Monitor is one of the most unique electronic products I’ve ever had the pleasure of owning. I’ve been playing video games for 30 years and remember what it was like to play Nintendo on an old tube tv. This Ark monitor is like a step into the future, something you would have only seen on a sci-fi movie growing up. It’s a surreal experience and something that every hardcore gamer should have on their list but with a $3500 price point its not for everyone.
With the initial unboxing of this monitor you truly get a sense of the size and scale. The biggest monitor I’ve ever owned is 30” so going to 55’ is a huge leap and honestly feels incredibly massive for a desk setting. The assembly instructions were very simple and easy to understand and Samsung did a really good job of using the Styrofoam inserts to balance the unit during setup. It definitely is a two person job so make sure you have a buddy to help with setup. The one issue I ran into after assembly is the weight of monitor itself. I realized because of the rotation orientation and the stand needed to support it this monitor clocks in at a beefy 91 pounds assembled. Unfortunately I have a glass desk that just would not support the weight, so we had to move an older wooden hutch to place it on. So just a warning if you have a desk make sure it can support the weight and has the space to fit it as it takes up a pretty wide footprint.
Once we got everything setup and assembled the rest was a breeze. The monitor comes with a OneConnect box which is typical of Samsung monitors and something I always find handy for cable organization instead of having to use the back of the monitor. There are 4 HDMI ports, 2 USB ports and a USB connect share, along with a Ethernet Plug and optical audio cable. Hooking up to my Alienware Pc I was able to adjust the monitor to a whooping 3840x2160 resolution, which is ALOT of screen real estate. The first thing that you notice with this monitor once sitting down in front of it is the sheer size. If you’re only sitting a few feet away it almost wraps around into your peripheral vision. The curve in the screen for normal computer use takes a little getting used to but after a while it felt comfortable and natural. I am a photographer and video editor for my day job so the use of screen space for things like Photoshop and Premiere Pro is downright impressive. So that bring me to one of the most impressive features of the entire monitor! It can rotate vertically!!! Vertically the monitor can display up to 4 different screens at one time and they can be customized and moved using a ridiculously cool ARK control. This control (which is also solar powered) can be set on your desk kind of like a futuristic sci fi panel to move the screens manipulate the screen sizes, settings, and configuration all at the touch of a button. While a normal controller is included I found myself using the ARK a lot more often. With the panel vertical you can use multiple screens to watch TV or use other apps such an Netflix or Youtube tv or browse the internet while using your computer or gaming input. I’ve seen other examples of using twitch or streamer apps so this monitor might be especially useful for streamers. Another cool feature is you can link the monitor to your phone and use it as the worlds largest Instagram or TikTok monitor. The only feature I wish could have been included would have been multiple HDMI’s at one time. It would have been amazing to have 2-3 people playing different consoles on one monitor.
The bread and butter of this monitor though is in the horizontal orientation. I can honestly say I’ve never played on a more crisp, clear, and beautiful monitor in my entire life. Maxed out on my PC using the HDMI 2.1 inputs and HDR10+ games like Forza Horizon 5, Microsoft Flight Simulator, and Apex Legends are absolutely stunning. The screen has new Quantum Mini-LED technology which gives zero screen leak from what I can tell and bright rich colors and true blacks. The screen has an antiglare matte finish which is very helpful because my room has a window in it that usually causes a lot of glare. With a 165hz refresh rate and the VRR feature synced with AMD Freesync Premium Pro there was no screen tearing whatsoever or lag in response time at all while playing any games, which has not been the case with my previous monitor. I can especially see this monitor being popular with the Sim Racing community as the wrap around screen with driving games makes it feel like you’re actually in the car. Again the software for the Samsung monitor shines with the Game bar that allows you to optimize game settings instantly. Another very cool featuring using the Ark control is at any time if you want a smaller screen you can move the 55 inch all the way down to 27 inches on the fly. It also supports 16:9, 21:9, and 32:9 aspect ratios!
This monitor literally makes your jaw drop when you see it in person. It is by far the best gaming monitor I’ve ever played on in my 30 years of gaming. It is definitely a conversation piece for anyone who’s very seriously into gaming but at the $3500 dollar price tag it won’t be for everyone. I could see this monitor really shining for streamers or people who have serious gaming racing rigs. You only live life once and I can honestly say my gaming life has been improved for the better with this monitor. If you have the cash to spend I highly recommend it, you won’t be disappointed!

Absolute BEAST of a Gaming Laptop!

The Alienware M17 R5 - Dark side of the moon is an absolute monster of a gaming laptop. It has everything I think you'd possibly ever need in a gaming system and more.
Initially unboxing the computer was packaged very well with a nice padded buffer. Initial setup only took a few minutes and we were up and running with new Windows 11. I liked the fact that the computer isn't stuffed with a bunch of useless software that I have to end up scrubbing off the computer. Windows 11 is a much different feel than past OS's but I am loving it so far. Only thing I did notice with initial installation is the 3070ti didn't have the correct drivers installed, so I had to download the Nvidia drivers and we were off and running!
The laptop itself isn't the most portable coming in at 7.3 pounds, but if you're purchasing this laptop you probably already anticipate that with a 17 inch screen. The LED Full HD (1920x1080) screen is very bright and crisp but I have noticed a little bit of bleed on the screen at times, but nothing that hinders the overall performance. The processor is a monster, the 6900HX can handle everything and anything with an 8 core 16 thread processor topping out a 4.9GHZ (INSANITY). I am also a professional photographer and video editor and it renders video insanely fast compared to my old pc. The ram is 16 GB of DDR5 which should be sufficient for most all games and editing programs and I believe can be upgraded if you're needing more! The 1tb SSD is blazing fast as well. Anyone who has never had an SSD hard drive is surely missing out! The 3070TI graphics card is an absolute beast as well. I loaded up APEX legends and maxed out all the setting and the laptop handled it beautifully. Also played Red Dead Redemption 2 which I consider to be a very graphics intense game and it didn't even flinch. 200-250 FPS is absolutely insane on APEX legends and smokes anything my Xbox one X can deliver! The laptop comes with 4 USB ports and a dedicated HDMI and Ethernet cable. Only thing I wish it did come with would have been a card reader. The keyboard is very nice and responsive and you can edit the color scheme through the Alienware app. The Alienware command center also lets you customize and tweak your GPU and CPU as well to your likings, but honestly the computer is an absolute beast and I haven't really had to adjust much!
Overall I have been incredibly impressed with this Laptop. I ran a GPU benchmark on the PC which I find useful to see how well my computer is setup and the results were mind blowing. UFO for all three categories meaning this computer is going to perform through the roof!! I would highly recommend this laptop to anyone looking for a very impressive 17 inch gaming laptop. It has everything you could want and then some for all your gaming needs!

Great Laptop for Everyday Use

Dell has been a computer company I’ve trusted for over 20 years now. They always build a quality product and I’ve owned multiple different desktops and laptops. The Dell Inspiron 2 in 1 is the latest laptop I have the pleasure of reviewing.
At first glance the computer is very simple and sleek with a lightweight design and an aluminum looking finish. The computer itself comes with multiple ports, an HDMI out, 2 USB C and a standard USB with SS technology, a headphone jack and a SD card reader. Being a photographer I always find the SD card reader to be very useful and I’m glad its included in this model. It only took a few minutes to get setup and running and comes with the new Windows 11 standard.
Putting the computer through my normal testing it responds very well to every day tasks. The monitor is a touch screen that is very responsive and bright. Bolstered by an Intel Core I7 processor and an SSD hard drive with 16gb of ram it really can handle any normal computing task you throw at it. This model isn’t a gaming computer due to the baseline onboard graphics card but for anything else it is a home run. The SSD hard drive doesn’t have any moving parts so it’s so much faster than traditional disc drives of the past. It can handle multitasking with a breeze and really performs great as an everyday computer. The computer also has a very nice keyboard. Coming from an Apple laptop keyboard, which I despise, I found the keys felt very good under my fingers, something I was pleasantly surprised by. The backlit feature is a nice touch as well. It also comes with a fingerprint reader as well to forgo having to put in a password.
Windows 11 is a nice upgrade from previous versions and has an Apple OS feel to it while still retaining windows features you’re familiar with. The computer runs beautifully with it and I love certain features that windows has like the screen snap to make 2 windows fit on screen.
Overall this is a very solid laptop, Dell is a superior computer brand imo and this laptop is no different. For the price you can’t beat the quality you get with their products and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great baseline computer for everyday use.

Great Quality Vacuum from Dyson!

In the last twenty years the Dyson brand has become synonymous with quality. Their vacuums are unparalleled in suction power and dependability, so I was very excited to review the new Animal 3 Extra.
The vacuum came packaged well with multiple different accessories. It took only a few minutes to unbox everything and get it setup. I should note I’ve owned a Dyson before so I am pretty familiar with how they are assembled. This particular model is geared more towards being a pet owner. I have a dog who has horrible skin issues so she is constantly shedding dead skin flakes on everything in our home. The Animal 3 Extra comes with a couch brush along with with a hair attachment for actually grooming your pet. I would imagine this tool would be great for a longer hair breed that sheds fur-balls like a husky. Unfortunately my dogs wants nothing to do with the hair tool, but the couch tool absolutely does the trick for picking up dead skin off the couch. The dual brushes seem to work into the couch very well and picked up a lot of excess dust. The main vacuum has a huge roller that is designed in a way to not allow the roller to get clogged with human or dog hair. It has 3 adjustable levels for short or longer carpet. Using it on my main carpet upstairs I noticed a huge difference in suction power compared to my older Shark. It was so strong that it actually pulled some loose carpet fibers from the carpet itself. So I would definitely be aware of the correct height for the carpet while you’re using it. The vacuum picked up a ton of dirt and left my carpet feeling smoother than normal. There is also a detachable handle on the vacuum as well to get to hard to reach places. An extra wand accessory is included as well for dusting blinds and getting in nooks and crannies. The cord on the Dyson is a great length as well allowing me to move freely around the upstairs without having to plug and replug. The canister itself is very easy to dispose of dirt that’s collected and the whole vacuum feels like a quality product.
Overall I am very very satisfied with this vacuum. If you’re a pet owner it is a no brainer for picking up dirt and dust from your furry friends off your carpet and couches. I would highly recommend this model for anyone who owns a pet. The Dyson brand doesn’t disappoint and I give this vacuum 5 stars!

The Aventon Level Commuter Step Over Bike is my first foray into E-bikes. Having a mountain bike as a kid I loved riding long distances with friends around local park trails. When I had the opportunity to get my hands on this E-bike I didn’t hesitate! The wife and I have been wanting to get into long distance riding lately, so this was the perfect time!
Initial Assembly – the bike was easy enough to assemble for someone with little to no experience tuning or assembling bikes. I did notice that the instructions that came with the bike were not accurate to the exact model I was given so I went online and found the assembly video that Aventon has on their support site. I didn’t have too much trouble installing everything, the only hiccups I encountered was getting the fender to sit properly and straight on the front wheel and getting the plastic piece that protects the back gear chains off the bike. You are supposed to break it off and then pull it off with pliers and it took me a good 20 minutes to finally pry it off. The only thing I was a little bummed about is the LCD screen got damaged in shipping. The way they pack the bike the LCD must have rubbed against some metal pieces during shipping because the entire top of it looks “chewed”. It’s unfortunate but something I can learn to live with!
The bike itself has excellent build quality. It is heavier than any bike I’ve previously owned but that’s to be expected when you have a lithium battery powered bike. The LCD screen is sharp and easy to read and displays all the relevant information and even is backlit if you’re riding at dusk. The gears and tires and suspension seem like very solid quality compared to bikes I’ve owned previously. Overall, the entire thing just feels like a beautiful piece of machinery. The one thing I was surprised at is that the bike doesn’t come with a front or rear light. For being a commuter bike, I would think that would be a standard feature, but it’s something that can be installed after purchase. The seat is comfortable and easy to adjust. Once I got everything tuned to my size it was off to enjoy my new e-bike!
Having never ridden an e-bike before I didn’t know what quite to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to operate. The bike can be driven with no Pedal assistance like a normal bike, or you can kick in the PAS system by adjusting the system past 0 and peddling the bike or using the throttle on the handle. The throttle makes it feel very much like a scooter, but I love that at any time I can just hit the throttle and cruise with no effort. I am a 200-pound man so I noticed going up hills that it does slow down quite a bit but that’s expected with my weight. I love the balance of assistance from the bikes motor and your own peddling. It makes it MUCH easier to go long distances or get up that steep hill. The Pedal assistance or PAS as Aventon calls it comes in 5 different modes. 1-13mph 57-mile range, 2- 17mph 44 miles, 3- 20 mph 36 miles, 4- 25 mph 26 miles, or 5 28 mph 25-mile range. I kept mine for the most part around PAS 3 and got about 15 miles on my first full ride with lots of battery left to spare, so I do believe it will hit the 40m mile range it advertises but I will have to test that out more on summer rides once it warms up a bit. The back rack will be useful for long trips in the future with my family where I want to store a cooler or other items for our day. I am a little bummed that this bike being an “E” bike doesn’t have any type of app integration with the display. That would have been a nice feature but one that I see is upgradeable on their website.
Overall I am seriously impressed with the Aventon Level Commuter bike. I could see how this bike could be very functional in an urban setting where you want an alternative to a car. But I also think this bike has a rightful place in your garage if you want a fast, fun bike that can go super long distances and still have the mountain bike feel. This bike to me opens up a ton of possibilities for longer trips to places you normally wouldn’t ride your bike. Knowing that you have the PAS system if you get need it means MUCH longer bike rides are coming in my future and I’m all for it. This bike is the nicest bike I’ve ever owned and I will enjoy it for years to come!

Great Overall Shaver

The Philips Norelco Shave 9500 is a well made wet/dry electric shaver. I've owned many norelco's in the past and while they've been good this one is by far the best I've ever used. The 9500 has great battery life, easy to use cleaning pod system, a handy dandy mustache and sideburns trimmer, and an impressive pressure system that uses lights and colors to tell you if you're pressing too hard when you shave. This shaver also has a bluetooth app that can help you improve your overall technique. The wet/dry combo is always a nice feature and the blades are very sharp and efficient leaving me feeling baby butt smooth every time. The battery charges quickly and really does a good job of holding its charge for as long as I need it to for. Overall I really recommend this shaver to anyone that wants a great electric wet/dry shaver. Especially for someone transitioning to using a electric shaver for the first time, the light guiding system will really help to make sure you have a great and smooth shave.

An Amazing Drone!!

The Mavic 3 is an absolutely amazing piece of machinery and is the pinnacle of years of refinements by DJI.
This is my 3rd drone from DJI. I’ve owned the phantom 3, mavic pro, and now the Mavic 3. It’s impressive to see the progression that DJI has made in less than 10 years. The Mavic 3 is a huge upgrade from previous models and one I wholeheartedly recommend. I’m going to share my thoughts below.
Initial unpacking: it’s clear that DJI has learned from models of the past in terms of initial setup out of the box. The Mavic 3 FMC has everything you need to get going right away. Multiple batteries with charger, polarizers for the camera lens, extra propellers, an intuitive camera cover and a beautifully made bag to store it all. I love that they have the propellers loaded on the drone right out of the box. Any experienced drone user knows how to attach the propellers but I will be completely honest and say the first time I used my old Mavic pro I didn’t attach the propellers properly and it caused my drone to bite the dust on the first flight. Lesson learned but a hard one at that. Initial setup was a breeze, the DJI fly app is intuitive and easy to use. Once I registered the device and updated firmware we were ready for some adventures!
Initial impressions using the drone I come away very impressed. The Mavic 3 is more lightweight and quieter compared to previous models. I am currently in the blue ridge mountains and it’s handling strong winds very well. Previous models struggled in this category, but I find the Mavic 3 has no issues at all cutting through choppy winds and making it’s way back to me. It also ascends and descends very quickly. The Hasselblad camera is downright impressive. The quality of photos from the drone I’ve gotten so far are astounding. Deep rich colors with plenty of dynamic range in the raw files. As you can see in my photos the colors and quality when given the chance is amazing. The video it captures is top of the line and really is leaps and bounds above any previous model I’ve used with the added features. The Omni directional collision system is very intuitive combined with the APAS5.0 and active track 5.0 is downright insane and allows the drone to follow you while you do an outdoor activity like mountain biking or kayaking without fear of it hitting objects like trees or branches. The Mavic also has dramatically improved its flight time. I haven’t gotten out a stop watch to verify the 45 minute flight time DJI claims. But I can confirm that it’s dramatically than previous models I’ve used, combined with better wind resistance it makes the Mavic a winner. With the 3 batteries that come with the fly more combo you’re good to go for any adventure. The controller is very solid and I like how DJI chose to use a camera selfie style holder for the phone along with a cord that stores into the controller when storing. With controller sticks that can be stored in the bottom as well I am very impressed with how compact they have made everything. I also am so happy DJI finally switched to onboard storage for photos and video. I can’t count how many times I’ve gone out to a shoot and realized I left my memory card in the card reader at home. With the onboard storage and DJI fly app it makes it super easy to export to IPhone and share immediately. The app is fluid, responsive and the export time from the drone along with loading times are greatly improved from previous models.
In conclusion the Mavic 3 is an absolute juggernaut of a drone. The company has refined everything about the 3 across the board. Seeing how far they’ve come from the Phantom 3 is insane. The multitude of features and countless small improvements from previous models make me wholeheartedly recommend this drone to anyone who’s thinking of upgrading. Even if you have a Mavic I would give this drone a look, its THAT good. It’s a joy to use the Mavic 3 and I can’t wait to get back out there and push this drone to its limits.

Amazing Espresso Machine

The De'Longhi Dinamica Plus is a game changer for an in home coffee and espresso machine. I have used De'Longhi Espresso machines in the past and had issues with getting things just right for great results but they have REALLY nailed this one perfectly with the features and ease of use. The machine itself is beautiful and looks fabulous on your countertop and is sure to be a topic of discussion when friends and family come over. The touch screen is user friendly and allows you to create profiles for different people in the home that can be linked to your Coffee Link app so you can start a drink directly from your phone! I feel like De'Longhi thought of everything with this machine. It's so user friendly and easy to use. The grinder works perfectly and dispenses the coffee in the form of little bricks in a removable tray for easy cleanup. The spout is adjustable for taller cups, the water catch tray underneath is easy to clean, the automatic rinse at the end ensures the machine stays in optimal condition, it's just an amazing product. The thing I love the most is the milk container can be stored in the fridge and pulled out when you want to use it so you don't have to fill it up and clean it daily. GENIUS!! The coffee (warm and cold brew), latte's and cappuccinos it makes are fabulous. I went to my favorite local coffee shop and bought some in house beans and I believe the De'Longhi Dinamica beats them at their own game! I am confident now in the ability to make great coffee every time! I also can appreciate the app being able to tell us if the machine needs maintenance or not, De'Longhi really thought of everything here. My wife and I are in love with this machine. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this product to anyone who wants a top of the line in home Espresso machine. I am blown away by the ease of use and intuitive features that this machine presents and I believe its worth every penny. Go out and buy it now!!

The Therabody Recovery Air Compression System is a great device for the hardcore athlete that is looking to help their body rebound after major sporting events. I am a club ultimate frisbee player and 5k runner and the RecoveryAir is the perfect system for when my legs are defeated and tired after running. The beautiful thing about this system is that you can do it while watching football or laying around the house while working. All you do is zip up the legs, plug in the attachments to the device, set the timer for the length you want and away you go. Nothing more to it than that. The chambers slowly fill up from the feet on up giving good solid compression throughout. I'm not really sure the science behind this device but all I know is when I'm done my legs come out feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, almost like a massage. My friends complain all the time about how they're tired after Ultimate frisbee and when I get home I pop these bad boys on and NEVER feel sore the next day. I think the key is to do it the night of your big athletic event to help improve circulation and blood flow and allow your legs to recover quickly. The great thing about these as well is they fold up nicely after you're done and could easily be taken with you to travel. I will get a ton of use out of these for years to come and am super happy with the purchase. I highly recommend them to anyone who is wanting to give their legs an advantage to recover quickly from sporting events that would normally leave them exhausted and defeated for a few days after. The WD Black 1 TB Game Drive is a great solution for anyone who wants to add more space to their Xbox Series X/S. It immediately recognizes it as soon as you plug it in and is seamless with integrating new games onto the added space. By now everyone knows about the commuter and defender otterbox series. The otterbox has recently gotten sleeker, shedding alot of the extra bulk from previous generations, so I decided to go with this model for my Iphone 6. It fits the phone nicely, the only gripe I have with the case is there is a little bit of wiggle room at the top kind of like a gap between the hard and soft plastic. I'm not sure if this is true to all the commuters, I may go back tomorrow and try and find another commuter that might fit better.

Opted for the Symmetry

After having this case for almost a week now and the gap between the plastic not going away I decided to go check out the symmetry series. Although it doesn't have the screen protector, and the hole for the Apple logo on the back, I actually feel like the symmetry is sturdier and sleeker than the commuter.
On a side note I spoke with Otterbox about the commuter to see if maybe the case wasn't supposed to have the gap and it was a manufacturing issue. She said they had more than a few reports about it, and that they are looking into whether or not they need to make a change or whether it was a certain supplier that had the error. She told me to hold onto my case and check back in a few months and that if they made any adjustments they would gladly replace it for free. So worst case scenario you buy the case, it has a slight droop in it for a few months while you wait for Otterbox to perfect the case and then you call in and get a replacement for free because they already know about the issue.

Yes it can support up to 5. But with 3 you can cover a 6000sq ft house. So unless you live in a huge house you don't really need more than 3.
