Quite possibly the best

I have owned similar Dyson vacuums. Those work fine until the batteries die after two years. And regardless of variations and improvements, those vacuums are prone to irritating blockages that need to be cleaned so the vacuums can function.
After several weeks with this Samsung product, I have not had to worry about blockages. After noticing this vacuum seemed to be able to handle much more "abuse" than a Dyson could handle, I actually tried to get this thing to clog. I could not do so except in extreme applications like vacuuming my porch where plants were dying and leaving debris. This was an extreme environment but the Samsung functioned as well as I could have hoped.
If you have noticed Dysons lately, they have grown to cumbersome sizes that make using them as hand held (non-beater bar) vacuums nearly impossible. Using them to clean a car, for example, became impossible. Not so with the Samsung. This functioned as well as I could have hoped and the small beater bar was fantastic for fast cleaning of flat floor areas.
Emptying and cleaning this unit is far easier also than a comparable Dyson (which became increasingly obtuse to clean and to dump) in the newest version. The Samsung is a joy in comparison and so much of it can be easily disassembled and cleaned (and washed) as to make this easily the best of such battery powered cleaners.
I highly recommend this. Dysons were once nice and compact. But they are prone to clogging and irritating to clean. The Samsung is just a better vacuum.

Really good

I had a Dell 24 inch monitor that I used for work at home and wanted to get a monitor with more viewing "real estate" - so here is a 27 inch that just seems to be better on all counts.
First, the viewing angle must be different with this one - perhaps because of the IPS panel. I can see the monitor better from more angles which helped me place the monitor in the space I had available without having to be so worried about seeing the screen.
Second, this monitor also seems to have a much more vivid color display than the older 24 inch one. Very impressive with the colors and the black reproduction.
Third, image clarity. I don't see the pixels as much as a had on the 24 inch which is surprising since I went to a bigger monitor; had things stayed the same, the pixels should have been more obvious.
Overall, I have had great luck with Dell monitors - usually I want to get a bigger one rather than to replace a non-functional one. Very reliable and durable.

Nice brew flavor ruined by machine flaws
on October 23, 2020
Posted by: laserwizard
from Virginia
I love coffee. And I know how it is supposed to taste when brewed.
And this machine offers a nice flavor that surprised me on how good it was.
Sadly, the overall machine flaws ruined the experience.
First, the clock is not back lit. It is just a dead common LCD that is difficult to read. I could live with that if the rest of the controls weren't so boneheadly bad.
Second, instruction book is nearly worthless. It does describe how to make this work but the pictures are small and don't offer enough detail to know what button to push for what action. I ended up working through this on my own through trial and error.
Third, the controls are obtuse and not intuitive. Because of the bad instruction book (too small in size and not enough detail), it was difficult to figure out how to set the timer. I ended up setting the timer and then thought I had done a timed brew and ended up brewing a pot now and stronger than I might otherwise have wanted. The coffee was good, but I'd not want this coffee maker if I had to run brews first thing in the morning when I wake up.
Fourth, coffee basket - not one mention I'd need filters - though you can get an optional reusable one. Thankfully I had a few left over from my prior machine and used them. Not a big point, but if you didn't know, you'd have to go to the store to get some. A quality company would have had a few for the trial run. I could not figure out how to install this water filter thing on top of the basket. Supposedly this is to remove chlorine from the water (97% of it at least). I ended up throwing that thing in the box and brewing without it. Instructions were completely useless here.
Overall, this makes a decent cup of coffee if you can master the on button and brew now. Timed brews are pointless since the display is so awful. If this were on sale, it would be okay to buy. But not at retail. It looks very nice. But all that effort was ruined by poor instructions and awful controls and pathetic display that is unacceptable in 2020 for a quality machine.
I'd look at other makers unless you get this at a good price and don't expect much in operation.

Seriously easy to use

This device looked far more complicated in the box to set up than it turned out to be. In fact the hardest part of the installation was pulling an hdmi cable from my television to opening up a slot for this device to plug into as my tv had only three hdmi slots and one was an arc.
The instructions provided were to the point and obvious to use - as this device really functions as an easier to access hdmi port (wall mounted tvs are not so easy to change out hdmi with the cable connections buried behind things). I swapped from a bluray player to a gaming computer and this was wonderful to have lesser used (but no less important) devices where they could be projected from device to tv via a wireless I(not wifi) connection.
Overall this works exactly like it should and is a very simple solution. My apartment is not that large but it was able to project from one room to another without any problems.

It works like it should

This is my first such blender so I am a novice at how these things work.
The overall construction of the blender is nice chromed plastic housing and glass blender container while the individual smoothie cup is smoked plastic.
I found this device to be easy to use and one of the reasons I got this was because it makes salsa - something that I just love. There is a preset button for salsa (plus smoothies, etc) which is nice; you can taylor your preferences with manual controls. Noise level is not as loud as I thought but I have no idea if this device is noisier than usual.
One thing I did not like was the buttons were not backlit. In low light situations, it was almost impossible to read what button was what when you are a newbie using this. I'm sure once you are used to it, you'll know the buttons by feel. I just think in this day and age that backlit buttons should be the norm, not the exception. Not a deal breaker but when even inexpensive laptops have this feature, you'd expect that kitchen appliances would move toward a more user-friendly set up.
This was fairly easy to clean and it works well. I'm going to see if I can make spaghetti sauce/tomato base for italian cooking by using this to process the tomatoes and chopped veggies like salsa - now that would be a home run for making low-carb, no-added sugar pasta sauces!
Overall, very nice.

Nice Handheld Vac
on August 2, 2020

You can certainly buy cheaper battery powered, hand held vacuums and a few that are more expensive.
But what separates this Hoover unit from others is the battery pack - a battery that is part of the ONEPWR system that has interchangeable batteries - a nice option if you are using one of the ONEPWR leaf blowers and need a temporary second battery. Or you can borrow another battery from that system for this vac if you have a heavy duty cleanup that goes past the about 30 minute usage time of this unit.
At first I thought this unit would be hard to use because it is larger than a cheaper unit, but it is well balanced and has attachments like a wand or brush that you can use for various sources.
I used it to clean a mid-sized car's interior and it worked well and its longer snout did have an advantage cleaning around the seats whereas a smaller unit would not be able to do this. Cleaning under the seats also was better than some smaller units.
Overall this is a worthwhile unit that should be more durable and last longer since the battery is not built into the unit and is available to be replaced or used for other ONEPWR systems.

Battery powered convenience
on July 9, 2020
Posted by: laserwizard

Lightweight. Easy to use. Battery powered convenience without having an annoying cord with which to deal.
I found this hand mixer to be surprisingly light and easy to use in various scenarios. The multi-speed ability was appreciated where I could easily find a speed appropriate to what I was preparing.
This black unit is understated though I was expecting it to have just a bit more bling that would make it look more like the iconic stand mixer that we've grown accustomed to seeing in numerous kitchens since childhood. While the overall shape of the mixer is evocative of its large stand mixer noted above, I'm not sold that it has the aura of a KitchenAid product. So understated is the look that you'd not know it was a KitchenAid as the logo is just molded into the chassis plastic. There is a chrome front KitchenAid logo on the front of the barrel shaped chassis, however. You won't be showing this off to your friends. Oddly a lower priced plug in mixer is offered with the bling I was expecting even if that product did not look like a KitchenAid product and offered none of the battery use flexibility.
Functionality wins overall. I liked the slider on the handle that adjusts the speeds. My thumb was right there and changing speeds was a breeze. The beater eject button is on top though it is still body color. If you didn't read the instructions, you'd have a hard time figuring out where the charge port is on this. On the back end of the barrel shaped chassis, there are two "holes". I saw those holes because they were large; on the handle there is a small hole that is lost in the sea of black on the handle. That is the charge port.
Overall impression - you would buy this over a much cheaper manufacturer because of KitchenAid's reputation of durability and quality. You know that you get what you pay for and this is worth the extra money over cheaper (and disposable) competitors. Having a battery that gives you flexibility where you can use this (not being tied to a cord and an outlet placement) makes this a no brain selection. My findings about the appearance of the product are a personal taste and expectation, but they have no impac t on the overall goodness of this mixer.
Buy this mixer and you'll have years - maybe decades - of happy use with KitchenAid just like my Mom's near 40 year old stand mixer!

Easy to install and to use
on June 26, 2020
Posted by: laserwizard
from Virginia
Due to the COVID-19 situation, FedEx delayed getting the printer to me by 2 days. I should be thankful, the last shipment I received using them was delayed 5 days even though the item was clearly at the local hub....
INSTALLATION
Finally! A printer that works with wifi that sets up like it was designed by competent people. I can't say that about Brother!
Downloaded the Smart app for my wifi connected laptop and the printer was found almost immediately. Followed the ONLINE instructions as I already have an HP account and didn't want to use the suggested admin username. I'm sorry. I'm not going with stock login credentials.
Online guide was really good once I learned how it was operating and everything worked as expected.
BONUS! My other laptop, an HP, which is connected wirelessly also picked up the printer install, brought me to the smart app installation area in the microsoft store, and I had two computers connected almost simultaneously!
USE
HP has a new subscription service (that can be cancelled at any time) which orders new ink at a very affordable price. I didn't go with the least expensive, so I went with the $4.99 per month rate which I believe gives me 100 pages per month to print - that is just fine with me. Not having to go to a store to find the cartridge (or to risk it being out) is worth the money to me. And with HP printers notoriously being picky about using ONLY HP cartridges, I figured that this will work fine enough for me. A certain number of unused pages will be carried over for the next month. Read about this program for further details on the HP website.
PRINTING
This is not a speed demon but it is a home machine and is quiet and speedy enough to be worthwhile. I've had other lowball priced printers to know you get what you pay for so having a real HP printer is a blessing. I have a very old big grey all in one with a sheet feeder that was still working when I pulled it offline. It was just too big.
I highly recommend this - inexpensive, easy to install and to use - works as advertised.

Interesting concept
on May 26, 2020
Posted by: laserwizard
from Virginia
Here we have a six pound item that offers a compelling host of options from recharging phones and to plug in actual devices with conventional three prong plugs.
I live in an area that is sometimes visited by hurricanes so having an emergency power source is intriguing. I proceeded to test this device as if I were .experiencing a loss of power.
LIGHT - After 5.5 hours of continuous running, I shut the device off - it is clear that this would be wonderful should the power be gone for a few days. I can see this offering three or four days of light should it be used carefully. No longer would I have to shop for batteries!
FAN - I was without power in August one year and a fan would have been nice. I large fan on a pedestal lasted 2 hours. I'd just need to settle for something smaller and possibly usb chargeable. I plugged the fan in to the device as if it were a wall socket.
Charging other devices - I didn't have enough devices to deplete this as a source, but again thinking of inclement weather and power outages, this would be a godsend.
OVERALL - Nicely portable and I like the indicator lights of 100, 75, 50... percentage - also tells you which connection is being used and you could do so simultaneously. I will be getting a solar panel (one of their small ones) to charge this without needing to plug it into the wall.
Having this as an emergency is well worth the price - sometimes the power goes out without warning. Now I have a successful backup source better than a couple of charges to the phone. This could do real things!

A Nice Headset
on April 12, 2020
Posted by: laserwizard
from Virginia
I've had my share of gaming headsets ranging from a budget set to those who cost as much as this HP Omen set. Overall, there was nothing about this HP unit that was better in use than any competitor in the same price range. What I did note is that I was able to fine tune this HP unit a bit more to my tastes than competitive units that I have.
The overall question is this fine tuning capability enough to choose this unit over competitors?
Disclosure: I downloaded the Omen Command Center (OCC) on a computer that did not have it (a non-gaming computer) and then used this headset on an HP Omen Gaming Tower that already had the OCC installed for other devices. I used this headset for gaming as well as using to make telephone calls (so I don't have to hold the phone against my face.
The headset is added to the computer(s) through a USB connection rather than the usual audio 35 mm connector. The cording from the usb to the headset was a woven type and not just some cheap rubber/plastic exterior.
Gaming tower experience - already installed OCC and the new headset was instantly detected and easily accessible through the OCC where I could change the color of the RGB lighting on the ear cups and I could easily go to the 10 channel adjustments on sound. The "cooling" feature of this headset was easily adjusted.
Non-Gaming Laptop experience. The headset was usable right out of the box and functioned just fine in hearing sound and using the mic. The adjustments to any of the settings was not able to be done and knowing about the OCC from the Gaming Tower made me download it from HP and installed to maximize fine tuning of the headset. The OCC functioned just as well on the non-gaming laptop as it did in HP's Omen Gaming Tower.
Use and comfort. Yes, this headset is fairly heavy compared to others. I was afraid that this weight was going to be a detraction from using the headset over a long period. I set out to do a two hour session wearing this to play games and found that after a few minutes, the weight seemed to melt away and became no issue in comfort. This headset also has a band that allows the headset to rest upon your head instead of the usual headset frame. I found this extra band to be comfortable.
Cooling? What I am still wondering about is whether there is any benefit from the cooling aspect of this headset. I made sure that in testing this on both the gaming tower and the laptop that I adjusted the cooling to max cooling. The gaming tower experience playing a game for two hours didn't leave my ears noticeably any cooler than in other headsets I've worn, but my ears also weren't as sweaty compared to non-cooler headsets that had full over the ear covers. My experience wasn't in cooling as it was in less sweat, and the exterior of the headset was warmer than the cup inside. Maybe my ears don't detect cooling differences like some, but i did notice a difference in sweat in the HP Omen headset. That alone would have me buy these over competitors.
On the non-gaming laptop I tested this using Microsoft's My Phone app where my android phone is sync'd to the pc and I made a nearly two hour phone call wearing the headset. I've been doing this with various other headsets over the past year when the phone app became available and the remarks from the person on the other end who hears me using the headset was a better performance than other headsets. I also was appreciative of the longer usb cord than the usual 35 mm audio jack - and there was no hum that passed through this headset that happens with some of the other competitors. Comfort was equal to my gaming experience and there was no ear sweat using this headset unlike some of the others. I was not able to notice any "cooling" - but there was noticeable difference in HP's headset with regard to sweat. None in the HP, some in the others regardless of which I've used.
RECOMMENDATION: This will be my daily headset from now on - the comfort is there, the elimination of sweat is a big plus, the ability to fine tune is superior to anything I've seen. And there is a sweet adjustment in the music playing that changes based upon what type of music/sound you are listening too. I did find a sweet spot adjustment just in choosing a preset that worked for me. You could alternatively fine tune by playing with the 10 bands on a manual basis.
I endorse this product over others in a similar price point based solely upon comfort and ability to adjust the sounds. While the overall sound output may or may not be better than other units, the ability to adjust is superb. Overall build quality is better than other competitors.
Please note: Unpacking the headset is tedious. Wire twists are used extensively securing the headset to the fancy packing. Allow 5 minutes to find all the secure points. After that, this unit is a joy.

An awesome budget laptop
By laserwizard from Newport News, VA
I had a tight budget with which to purchase a new laptop - I've been searching for months and nearly purchased a Dell (my preferred brand) on their website.
I happened to shop online at Bestbuy and discovered this computer for $329.99 - it hit every need that i had - and the ram was upgradeable for future needs - it was not a Pentium or Celeron processor which was a plus. Has a fifth gen i3 - and it simply exceeds what I expected at this price point.
I am so pleased with this purchase - the screen does lack a bit on contrast, but when hooked to HD monitor, the monitor resolves that. It streams Hulu and Netflix really well.
For the price, this unit is hard to beat.

Follow up remarks after a week or so of usage
July 12, 2015
Had purchased a laptop for my niece for Christmas, upgraded her Dell from 4 to 8 gb of ram - had her spare 4 gb ram and replaced the 2gb one in this laptop - performance upgrade was noticeable making laptop now an 8 gb unit.
I was curious about maxing out ram to the 12 gb limit noted and secured an 8 gb stick for $45 elsewhere and installed yesterday. Not as much difference in performance as going from 6 to 8 gb, but it is nice to have the ram at a great price - now unit still hasn't cost me $400 in total costs.
This is a great computer for the price - 5th gen i3 makes a big difference over the i3's from the past that I've used. The more I use this the more impressed I am with it. At this price it even outperforms some computers the company I work for has purchased at double the price.
I would definitely buy this again and another made by Asus.

Too cute for its own good - limited use
By laserwizard from Virginia
I found this product to be less than satisfactory for anything but limited use.
First, installation is not intuitive - like some new products, there are NO INSTRUCTIONS - it has something that must be a picture based set of instructions, but it does not give you any clue what to do beyond 1 and 2. It does not tell you what to do next. You will have to go to bluetooth on your device and activate the pairing from a listing. Not sure why this was not mentioned at all. Volume controls are not described at all - they are the - and + signs on the body (in yellow).
Second, sound is okay - that is why I note it is limited. Better than nothing but certainly not great sounding.
Third, no instructions on charging this - there is a piece of ill fitting rubberized plastic at the base that hides the micro usb charging port. You'd think at least it would be labeled or ingrained with "usb".
I guess if you need a portable speaker for some device that is water resistant, this is okay. I wonder why you'd need one since I'd never put anything electrical near water.
I'm over 50 and I see no use for this other than to leave it in a place where I don't have speakers and to use it on a limited basis. Instructions are awful to non-existant and those debits are what bring down this score.
Too cute for its own good.

The advertisement and stated processor says its a 9th gen i7-9700 however if you click on the pdf information for this computer it states that it is an 8th Gen i7-8700? Also indicates that graphics are onboard and not the GPU?

I have one of these new ones and it is definitely a i7-9700.

Make your home an internet haven with this versatile Linksys Velop wireless Wi-Fi system. Three identical tri-band dual-stream AC2200 routers, each equipped with a quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 processor, deliver lightning-fast internet. Equipped with Bluetooth 4.0/LE, this Linksys Velop wireless Wi-Fi system is simple to set up and pairs easily with computers, tablets and smart devices.

Do you have to have internet connection to make it work

The point of this is to distribute wireless internet connectivity around the house. If all you want to do is to network computers, there are far better options. And I didn't find this system to be very good at doing what it was designed to do. Buy something else for less money.

Surf the Web and stay in touch with this Asus X555LA-SI30504I 15.6" laptop, which features high-speed wireless networking and a Gigabit Ethernet LAN for easy access to the Internet. Bluetooth technology pairs easily with other Bluetooth-enabled devices.

IS THIS LAPTOP AVAILABLE WITH WINDOWS 7

WINDOWS 7 PRO.OR HOME PREMIUM
No - but when you first use it - go to desktop live tile, use Internet Explorer and download "classic shell" - install the free app - it restores start menu and makes the computer look like Windows 7 and you still have the live tiles to use later as you get used to it.

I've found that on every Win8.1 machine I've had, it far exceeds the speed of Win7. In fact, after using 8.1, 7 seems like Vista.

Sennheiser PX100

could u tell me where is produced?
is it from China?
thanks a lot.
Made in China and very cheap product - almost all plastic except for metal band inside the frame. Based on reviews I was expecting superb quality - well, this is budget cheap in construction.

Are the PX100 or 200 compatible with windows based PC?

Have an iPhone 3G would like to use the same headphone with my windows 7 computer...I travel so the folding is a great feature...
Works with my windows 8.1 laptop just fine. Just beware that the cord is shortish.
