Very Useful Product But Not Very Alarming

I am commenting as a 60 plus year old who acquired this in hopes of having something that would provide a sense of security should I encounter a difficult situation whether at home or away. My comments are from this perspective as someone who also wears eye glasses. This point became important when I was setting up with the device.
SETUP
The box has the typical clear plastic circle that is apparently used to show tampering with the device inside. Once the plastic circle is removed, you'll need something to jam into the cardboard locking tab at the top. Inside you'll find a white fiber board container that you'll slide out and an envelope will appear covering the device, a battery, a lanyard, and hook. I'm not sure why there was an envelope as this seemed to be useless and added production costs. The instructions are not user friendly to people wearing glasses as the print is far too small and this was also an issue later on the "lock" and "unlk" print at the top of the device. It would seem to me that colored symbols like a triangle or box would have been more effective to denote locking or unlocking position.
Setting up the app was as irritating as most times - trying to type in text on a phone screen. In this day and age, this is not a ding against this product, but a continuation of the trend of gathering information.
It took a surprisingly long amount of time for the device to be recognized via bluetooth - much faster than normal despite the phone being right near by. I almost gave up but the connection was finally made.
I could not figure how to lock and unlock this - not intuitive - finally was able to get device to work. Of course you'll be prompted to an upsell account to get more features.
OPERATION
I thought this was going to be loud. Well, aside from being startled, I'd hate to think this will alert anyone nearby. I have heard alarms that shriek at work and this is nothing like that. Not sure how effective this will be. The most useful part of this is that you can set up emergency contacts and this is where this device will shine if people know you have this and hopefully they will pay attention to this.
I would have liked the ability to turn up the volume of the alarm. 20 feet away and you'd barely be able to notice this was alerting anyone to you.
Overall given its ability to alert others through your contacts, I'd recommend this. I'm not so sure how well this would do alerting others if you figured out how to activate it with that lock and unlock tiny text.

Upon opening the package, I was struck by the high quality of the materials used for this. Nice metallic look with braided cable ending into usb-c connector also topped with metallic finish.
I hooked this up to a Dell XPS-15 and had mixed results on performance - not as good as the wireless which had been pulling 600 mbps download speed. Then Dell Support Assist kicked in and updated the driver and I tested speed again. Results were impressive - I have fiber internet of 940 mbps speed and this connection went to 861 mbps. Upload speeds are supposed to mirror download but rarely have I seen that. This unit went from around 120 mbps on wireless to 550 mpbs with the wired connection. I did use a cat 6 (new) cable to test this connection. I did do a second test with slightly better results - 877 download and 724 upload speeds. This is a very satisfactory product considering build and performance.
I did test with youtube and the pages seemed to download faster as well as the videos. I opened five video windows and played in 1080p and this was also satisfactory.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Upon opening the box, I was utterly amazed at the size of this usb-c drive. It was tiny. The dimensions of this drive were so small that the largest dimension on the drive was not quite the width of my smartphone. And the smallest size was only 2/3rds of the width of my smartphone.
And that got me to thinking.... "Would this drive work on my smartphone as extra storage?"
I hooked up the usb-c cable supplied to the usb-c port on my phone and after about 30 seconds, the phone displayed the folders that are provided on the drive at boot:

While I am perfectly able to create folders, it was nice to have this set up especially for phone use.
The drive does come with some links to some software like Acronis and some support link icons.
I tested the drive on a pc with windows 11 and usb-c connection and moved 365 gigs of recordings in about 8 minutes. This is actual performance and not some benchmark - speed was as much as 780 mbps and down to 440 mbs. This is perfectly acceptable for a backup drive or to add media to use with your phone on a trip.
I also downloaded without any issue 6 HD quality video streams and saved them to the drive as they were downloading. I did not sense the drive was getting hot - I held the unit while these downloading streams were being saved to the drive. Cool to touch which is also surprising.
I am very surprised by this drive considering how small the unit is in size. I will definitely be using this as a mobile media drive for my phone when traveling. This unit is perfect for such an application. I love the fact that I can plug this into a PC and then save whatever movies I might want and then to remove and to carry with me to plug into my phone.

A Nothing Special Cam That is Not Compelling

I must preface that I can repair computers and can swap out parts and motherboards on a myriad of products. I am not stupid. But this cam was one of the worst ever to set up. I had a several year old similar cam by a different company that just worked and was easy to set up.
Set up was frustrating. Illustrations or instructions on how to open device to set up was very poor. I felt like I was risking breaking the device to try to fold out the base. Not clear at all how to deploy. After I figured out deploying, I was able to get the base to fold out but the instructions were useless. Also obtaining the TP code was problematic - in short it took at least five minutes to get the code only to find out that the code was good for only 10 minutes! Because it took so long to receive, I hit resend only to find out the first code then came in and was useless. I had to wait another 5-7 minutes for the next code to arrive. I ended up ignoring instructions and just waded through installation on intuition alone. Instructions do not tell you to have wifi access code and to bluetooth pair your device. Amazing how limited these instructions were!
EXPECT TO INSTALL AN UPDATE ONCE ACTIVATED. MINE WENT INTO AN ENDLESS LOOP INDICATING TO UPDATE. Clicked update. Updating. Then back to update. Repeated several times to have it indicate failure. Tried both with auto update on or off. Nothing changed.
Ultimately the cam worked and gave an image. Overall it is okay if you can endure the indifferent instructions. Not sure if the update will ever install but at this point I've given up.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

WHAT YOU GET INSIDE
Be aware that to get the most out of this hub you will need to hook up the included power brick should you decide to use 2 screens to your mac through this hub. If you are using this as a portable solution for a laptop, then you aren't necessarily hooking up multiple monitors so bringing this hub with you is not an issue. Hooking up multiple monitors with this hub as a desktop replacement with your macbook pro creates no portability issue because of use case. I believe you will need an m3 or newer chip to support multiple external monitors and Big Sur or newer operating system. Can also be used in supported windows 11 machines contingent upon thunderbolt 4 port.
Box includes thunderbolt 4 cable (a bit over 2.5 feet) , the hub, and a power brick.
IMPRESSIONS
High quality construction in a space grey kind of look - total of 4 thunderbolt 4 ports though you lose one going from the hub to the macbook. Still net/net addition of 3 thunderbolt 4 ports and that really helps. One of those powers is power out (60w) in case you need to charge another device. There is also a usb 3.2 port.
My rating of 4 indicates this is not as slim as other hubs and the need for a power brick in certain applications so if portability in carrying with a laptop is not its forte; however, in desktop use, this is a fine product as long as you know you'll need the power brick depending on use.

High quality tablet with limitations in use

First let me say that this is a very premium feeling tablet. I had an 8 inch one that is several years old and this is by far much nicer feeling and has a higher quality heft to it.
The screen is very nice and adjusts for brightness (another nice function of the keyboard is the ability to adjust screen brightness without having to navigate through menus).
Touch sensitivity was also good. I've used some items that are supposedly touch sensitive that make you wonder who they are geared toward because it takes multiple inputs to make it work. The size of the screen seems perfect for a tablet with minimal bezels. With this screen being so large it made viewing media (like youtube) nice to view and watch and touch inputs like on-screen keyboard were excellent and well spaced.
All of these fine points are negated by:
(1) constant advertising especially on getting the screen to come back on after it goes to sleep
(2) limited app availability in the Amazon store - a real deal killer to me to use as a travel replacement for my windows laptop.

I also found the activation of this unit to be obtuse - directions were sparse and I am not in the Amazon ecosystem. I tried to get it to install with the app on the phone to no avail. I finally did it manually with success. I guess if you are used to the activation of amazon items, this would be more intuitive; as someone who isn't in the Amazon system, I found the activation frustrating.
I was able to install my Windows / Office 365 which I use on all of my systems so this is a plus. But to be able to use my phone/android apps is not possible - a real shortcoming to this.

Nice accessory and a must for this to use daily

The keyboard and cover for this Fire 11 inch is very nice with a fabric exterior that seems durable and washable with a towel. The kick stand does come out after a bit of a fight (not sure if it is not broken in or if the magnets are fighting me). I did not find the position of the kickstand to give me a comfortable viewing angle, however.
Keyboard took some getting used to as it seemed smaller than a standard one (even on a laptop) and thus when touch typing it was not as intuitive as I would have liked. It was okay in a pinch and was preferrable to touchscreen entry in my opinion.
The keyboard attaches with a magnetic u-channel area and seemed to hold firm. The back of the keyboard (covering the back of the tablet) was very magnetic and was firmly attached.
I would say that having a keyboard like this would make a better case for the tablet usage as a daily driver. The whole affair closes very firmly and tightly and doesn't seem to move or mal-adjust out of place. It gave an overall feeling of quality that matched the actual tablet.

I am generally not fond of digital pens. This pen was no worse than others I have used. It seemed responsive and comfortable to use. Nothing that stood out negatively.
In this application with an Amazon tablet, I fail to see the need nor the reason why you'd have a digital pen. What am I going to use it for? Tried as I might, I didn't see anything that would require the use of the pen that I couldn't do with a finger. The screen is large enough to make the pen something I would not even think about using even as it clings magnetically to the side of the tablet/cover.
The rub here with the Amazon tablet and those applicable to the pen is that there is a limited use case for either. The echo system is not one that allows a great application availability in the "store" from which to choose. And if there were things that a pen might work, because it is more difficult (or impossible) to share with a windows laptop or with an android phone, work done here is really work kept here and of little availability.
Good enough pen. Limited use.

Wonderful machine when you can get it to work

This was one of the most irritating products to get to use. Installation of a printer should not take a week. This one fought tooth and nail to get installed following the directions (very specious) by the booklet.
In the end, it took my intuition to get this printer to actually do anything other than to turn on.
This printer has the capability to apparently read minds and networks and to "direct connect" to a wireless network. Little did I know this very quality was the cause of the printer not being able to do anything from the computer even though it was "recognized" by the computer.
The instructions that came with this printer were not helpful in the least. It took me actually working on the very tiny screen on the printer pushing everything I could see that there was the ability to manually put in the wireless networking information even though the direct connect appeared to have the very same information that I was adding after direct connect failed.
I then discovered how to turn off direct connect and suddenly the printer did things from the computer! I tried half a dozen times to work through the installation prior to this only get get an error message that the printer would not connect wirelessly (after over 5 minutes each time of waiting for the network device to install). Once I disabled the direct connect, the printer immediately worked!
It is hard to give this printer five stars even as well as it might do its job when installation is obtuse and poorly documented. I've installed scores of printers in my 40 years of working on computers and this was by far the worst ever experience.
I hope I can save people from the headache I had with this thing. I've installed cheaper all in one printers that were a breeze. This was a tornado in comparison.

This is a wonderful laptop - thin and light yet very performance oriented. As I tested this, I was impressed by the speed of video editing in software that I added after setup. I found the performance to be several minutes quicker in producing a 4k video of about 15 minutes than the computer this replaced - itself was two years older.
The screen is extremely vivid though this model does not have touch ability. This has Windows 11 Home (which to me works just fine and have never understood the need for a home user to have pro). I found the updates to be fewer than most newer systems. Set up was within half an hour as I also used my Office 365 account to do some of the basic setup with apps moved over and general configuration settings imported over from how I like things.
I've owned Dells in the past and this is a fine mobile platform that is powerful. I have not had the chance to run this on battery only, however.
The one glaring issue I have found with is the trackpad seems finicky or overly sensitive. I was constantly getting things on screen I didn't want and rarely was able to do basic things with ease. While this is problematic if you are using it as a laptop, it can be cured with a mouse and that can just be brought along. I just don't think it is as good as other laptops I've owned.
I heartily recommend this if you want a quality laptop with metal in the construction that is well laid out and upgradeable - I have added a second NVME drive already and after the tests with video and system setup, I upgraded to 64 gigs of DDR 5 ram and this is quite the performer for the price. If you want something portable that can do video work without taxing it, this is a good choice. It also handles basic graphics work with ease.

I had a tight budget with which to purchase a new laptop - I've been searching for months and nearly purchased a Dell (my preferred brand) on their website.
I happened to shop online at Bestbuy and discovered this computer for $329.99 - it hit every need that i had - and the ram was upgradeable for future needs - it was not a Pentium or Celeron processor which was a plus. Has a fifth gen i3 - and it simply exceeds what I expected at this price point.
I am so pleased with this purchase - the screen does lack a bit on contrast, but when hooked to HD monitor, the monitor resolves that. It streams Hulu and Netflix really well.
For the price, this unit is hard to beat.

Follow up remarks after a week or so of usage

Had purchased a laptop for my niece for Christmas, upgraded her Dell from 4 to 8 gb of ram - had her spare 4 gb ram and replaced the 2gb one in this laptop - performance upgrade was noticeable making laptop now an 8 gb unit.
I was curious about maxing out ram to the 12 gb limit noted and secured an 8 gb stick for $45 elsewhere and installed yesterday. Not as much difference in performance as going from 6 to 8 gb, but it is nice to have the ram at a great price - now unit still hasn't cost me $400 in total costs.
This is a great computer for the price - 5th gen i3 makes a big difference over the i3's from the past that I've used. The more I use this the more impressed I am with it. At this price it even outperforms some computers the company I work for has purchased at double the price.
I would definitely buy this again and another made by Asus.

I found this product to be less than satisfactory for anything but limited use.
First, installation is not intuitive - like some new products, there are NO INSTRUCTIONS - it has something that must be a picture based set of instructions, but it does not give you any clue what to do beyond 1 and 2. It does not tell you what to do next. You will have to go to bluetooth on your device and activate the pairing from a listing. Not sure why this was not mentioned at all. Volume controls are not described at all - they are the - and + signs on the body (in yellow).
Second, sound is okay - that is why I note it is limited. Better than nothing but certainly not great sounding.
Third, no instructions on charging this - there is a piece of ill fitting rubberized plastic at the base that hides the micro usb charging port. You'd think at least it would be labeled or ingrained with "usb".
I guess if you need a portable speaker for some device that is water resistant, this is okay. I wonder why you'd need one since I'd never put anything electrical near water.
I'm over 50 and I see no use for this other than to leave it in a place where I don't have speakers and to use it on a limited basis. Instructions are awful to non-existant and those debits are what bring down this score.
Too cute for its own good.

Since the initial write-up, I have found that this device works fine around the house if I needed to listen to iHeart radio from my tablet. The sound is acceptable and its portability is good though the small yellow cord really is of no use.

The advertisement and stated processor says its a 9th gen i7-9700 however if you click on the pdf information for this computer it states that it is an 8th Gen i7-8700? Also indicates that graphics are onboard and not the GPU?
I have one of these new ones and it is definitely a i7-9700.

The point of this is to distribute wireless internet connectivity around the house. If all you want to do is to network computers, there are far better options. And I didn't find this system to be very good at doing what it was designed to do. Buy something else for less money.

Made in China and very cheap product - almost all plastic except for metal band inside the frame. Based on reviews I was expecting superb quality - well, this is budget cheap in construction.

Are the PX100 or 200 compatible with windows based PC?
Have an iPhone 3G would like to use the same headphone with my windows 7 computer...I travel so the folding is a great feature...
Works with my windows 8.1 laptop just fine. Just beware that the cord is shortish.
