good movie

First of all, I want to tip my hat to the director for the layout of the movie. I was truly pulled into the story line. The thing that I wanted most was a good look at the monster. This movie did what it was supposed to do. It gave me bits and bits of views of the monster throughout the movie, and basically just teased me with small views. It seemed as if the further the movie progressed, the more clear the image of the monster became. Of all the aspects of this movie, my only complaint was the ending, but thats not enough to keep me from watching it again. Just a tip, I highly recommend some motion sickness medicine for anyone who gets "car-sick" before they watch this film.
What's great about it: different from all other movies
What's not so great: the ending

The fact that Gary Cooper was in this film is a big contributing factor to all the praise that this film has received. For years, and I mean YEARS, I have been trying to find this movie on DVD. It finally came out and I bought it immediately. The weird thing is is that I hardly ever get to watch it because I loan it out to so many people who have never seen it before. Of all the great black and white movies, this one is way up there.

The two-disc special edition of David Fincher's Seven should more than satisfy hard-core fans of the film by dramatically improving on the initial, single-disc version of the film. It boasts excellent audio options: English Dolby EX 5.1, DTS ES Discreet 6.1 and Stereo Surround Sound, with subtitles available in English and French. It also features incredible picture quality in an anamorphic widescreen letterbox format, remastered from the original negative and set at a theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1. The special features are abundant, including four feature length audio commentaries by David Fincher, Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman and others, deleted scenes and extended takes, the original theatrical trailer, a DVD-ROM "John Doe" website that probes the killer's mind with his fan sites, reading list, his photo gallery and a penetrating look at the seven deadly sins; alternate endings to the picture with animated storyboards to illustrate them and an electronic press kit, and several galleries with production designs and stills.

This movie is one of my favorite horror films. Freeman, Pitt, and Paltrow are in good form as usual. But, in my opinion, the villain (serial killer) of this movie stole the show. And just in case you haven't seen this movie, I won't say who played the role of the villain. If you have seen the movie, I think you'll agree that the villain could not have been played by anyone better.
What's great about it: very good cast

This collection of comic highlights from Will Ferrell's tenure on Saturday Night Live gets a solid presentation for its release on DVD. The meterial included on Saturday Night Live: The Best of Will Ferrell has been transferred to disc in its original full-frame aspet ratio of 1.33:1, and the audio has been mastered in Dolby Digital Stereo. No multiple language options have been included, though the sketches have been closed cpationed in English. Bonus material on this disc includes highlights from Ferrell's audition tapes, a collection of outtakes, footage from SNL dress rehearsals, and a gallery of still photos.

Great collection of one of the funniest SNL actors, ever. Loads of laughs from beginning to end of this DVD. Will Ferrell played a lot of different characters on SNL, and this gives you a taste of his talent. The only skit I didn't like was the one with Garth Brooks in it. But my absolute favorite was the one with Jim Carrey.

Marking the directorial debut of Adam McKay, former head writer for Saturday Night Live and founder of the Upright Citizen's Brigade, Anchorman is set during the 1970s and stars Will Ferrell as Ron Burgundy, San Diego's top-rated news anchorman. While Burgundy is outwardly willing to adjust to the idea of females in the workplace -- even outside of secretarial positions -- he certainly doesn't want his own job challenged. Keeping that in mind, it's no wonder that the arrival of Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate), an aspiring newswoman, is, in Ron's eyes, not the studio's most welcome addition. After Veronica pays her dues covering so-called female-oriented fluff pieces (think cat fashion shows and cooking segments), the ambitious Veronica sets her eyes on the news desk; more specifically, on Ron's seat behind it. Not unpredictably, Ron doesn't take the threat lightly, and it isn't long before the rival newscasters are engaged in a very personal battle of the sexes. Anchorman was co-written by Ferrell, and features supporting performances from David Koechner, Steve Carrell, Paul Rudd, Tara Subkoff, and Maya Rudolph.

Pretty decent movie. Some parts of the movie weren't all that funny, but a lot of the movie was hilarious. I do own the movie but I don't consider it to be better than some of Ferrell's other stuff, like Old School. Yet, I still recommend to anyone looking for a good comedy that they buy this movie, especially Will Ferrell fans.

One of the most important World War II films of our time and winner of five Academy Awards, Saving Private Ryan is a seemingly routine DVD, but it packs a big punch. In addition to standard DVD extras such as production notes, cast and crew bios and the theatrical trailer, this disc includes "Into the Breach", a 25-minute making-of featurette that is both an informative history lesson on D-day and a story of Spielberg's fascination with war. "Into the Breach" includes interviews with D-day survivors as well as of Spielberg and his father and spotlights his early student war films Escape to Nowhere and Fighter Squadron. The film itself receives a great transfer in widescreen 1:85, and Dolby Digital or 5:1 Surround.

great war film

I absolutely loved this film. It is a classic war film with Tom Hanks. And anything that has Hanks in it, usually draws some attention. Now, for the war movie purists, some parts of the movie aren't portrayed exactly, but don't let that keep you from seeing it. I highly recommend this film.

The computer animated fairy tale comedy Shrek comes to DVD from DreamWorks in this single-disc edition with a full frame transfer. Audio is presented in Dolby Digital Stereo in English, with mono versions in French and Spanish. Subtitles are available in English, French, and Spanish. Closed captions are also accessible. This is just the bare bones release of the film; those interested in bonus material are advised to check out the extra features-packed Special Edition two-disc set released by DreamWorks in 2001.

In my opinion, this is the movie that set off the whole computer animated movie craze. The cast includes numerous well-known's, and their voices match each of their respective characters perfectly. This movie is loaded with tons of humor througout the movie, with just a touch of adult humor added in. And, no matter what the aspect ratio of the movie is, I highly recommend this movie.

Obviously, there are a lot of good songs by STP here. However, some of my favorite songs are missing, namely "Dead and Bloated" and "Crackerman". If you're a cd enthusiast, I recommend that you buy this album. If there are some songs that you would want that aren't on this album, I would just download them from a legal site.

Listening to this album takes me back to the late 1990's and early 2000's. This album has a lot of songs to "jam-out" to. Some of the songs aren't my favorites, but that shouldn't stop you from buying this album, especially if you're new to the band.

To be honest, I've never seen The Scorpion King, but I love the other two movies. So, as far as I'm concerned, its a heck of a buy (and price) for two movies. Therefore, it must be even better for three movies. As for the movies, the main reason I like them is because they have that "Indiana Jones" feel, especially the whole early 1900's idea.

how many tv inputs does the tv need to have to be able to play the wii

You only need one input. Yet, the one input should be the yellow/red/white input. Sometimes, you'll only have a yellow and a white input. The yellow is the video, and the white & red are the audio. If you don't have these, you'll have to get your hands on a coax converter, which hooks you into the 'threaded' device on the back of the tv, cable box, etc.

Hope this helps.....

Set up?

Is the Wii difficult to set up? Im not very tech talented.
Not at all. Its very simple and basic. Your 2 biggest questions will be if you want the Wii to be on its side or up. Then, where will you want the sensor bar. For me, I have the Wii in its stand, which is included in the box. And, I have the sensor bar at the bottom of my TV. Then, just plug in the power cable. And, finally hook up your red/white/yellow jacks to your TV. Congrats! Your now gaming like never before. Other than what I've mentioned, everything else is explained in the booklets that come with your Wii.
Hope this helps.

what is best deal for family of 7

Want to buy Wii console for Christmas, want to know what is best deal for our family of 7 ages 2-47. How many extra controller should I get (up to 4) ? Recommended games for beginners?
My advice, or what I did was as follows: buy Wii console, which comes with 1 controller and 1 nunchuk; buy Wii Play, which comes with a game and a controller (so the game is basically $10); buy an extra nunchuk; and, two extra controllers are luxuries, not necessarily must-haves, but you'll probably want them eventually (so that's ultimately up to you)

As for games for beginners, I would recommend WarioWare Smooth Moves. Which, its kinda goofy but still very fun, especially for the younger bunch. A newer game that TONS of people seem to like is Wii Sports Resort. It comes with a Wii MotionPlus accessory, which makes the Wii Remote more sensitive and accurate. If you get that game, I advise that you pick up another Wii MotionPlus accessory, which is $20. And, another favorite is Mario Kart Wii. A great racing game, and its definitely one of my favorites.

Hope this helps.

wii fit vs. wii fit plus

is there a difference betwee the wii fit and wii fit plus?
Wii Fit Plus offers the same package as Wii Fit (the original). Wii Fit Plus has the same workouts as Wii Fit, but with a few extra workouts. Your best bet would be to get Wii Fit Plus.

Other games compatible with Beatles R.B instruments

I just bought Beatles Rock Band Value Pack for my kids for christmas and I was wondering if the instruments and microphone is compatible with any Hero games? When I bought the bundle for Wii I was told they would work but now I have heard differently... really irritating. Stupid to have more than one set of instruments lying around.
I'm pretty sure that the Rock Band Beatles equip does not work with Guitar Hero games. However, the Guitar Hero equip works with Rock Band Beatles and Rock Band 2. But, not Rock Band (the original). My advice, would be to take back the Value Pack (if it isn't open), buy the Guitar Hero World Tour set for $99 (a lot of retailers have it for this amount, but not sure about Best Buy), buy the Rock Band Beatles software, and enjoy the tunes. All said and done, you should come out around the same price with an extra game. Rock Band's web page has a compatibility chart if you wanna check for sure. Hope this helps.
