This release finds Michael Mann's epic crime drama Heat getting the two-disc deluxe treatment from Warner Bros. that it most certainly deserves. The widescreen anamorphic transfer preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of the film, and showcases both Mann's precise framing and Dante Spinotti's first-rate cinematography. English and French soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. Mann provides a commentary track for the film. While Mann may not be the most electrifying speaker, he does share a great deal of information about the making of the film. Eleven deleted scenes are included, as are five documentaries about the film. The documentaries cover such diverse topics as how the script bounced around Hollywood for decades before the film was made, a look at the real police officer whose story inspired the film, a visit to the film's locations a decade after filming occurred, and a breakdown of the infamous scene between stars Al Pacino and Robert De Niro.

A fantastic movie that has an all-star cast. Just like some of the other movies that I own, I had to watch this movie twice to get a real feel of it. The directing was great and the story was gripping. For any first time watchers, this movie deserves a shot, if nothing else, for the simple reason that Pacino and DiNero are in it.

Brace yourself for a new set of tricks, tracks and ways to race. The included Wii Wheel transforms your Wii Remote into a steering wheel that feels great in your hands, while the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controller supply a classic control style for veterans of this racing series. Either way, you'll be able to perform impressive speed-boosting tricks, such as jumps, flips and wheelies. You can zip through brand-new tracks and arenas, and also tour classic courses from Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart 64, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Mario Kart: Double Dash and Mario Kart DS. There are even options for trying all-new motorbikes that have their own special tricks and techniques. The action gets fast, furious and funny when you race in Mario Kart Wii.

Great game for any Wii owner. Definitely a game that can be played by any age. I really liked how this game brought back some of the retro tracks for people who haven't played the other Mario Kart games. Plus, I love the addition of bikes. My only gripe (and its a small one) is that I noticed one or two of the "items" that you got while racing on the previous Kart games aren't on this edition of Mario Kart. Considering all of this, I highly highly highly recommend this game for purchase.

The tenth anniversary of the popular prison drama The Shawshank Redemption sees a deluxe DVD edition of the film hitting stores for the first time. The movie's image is presented in a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1, and a French soundtrack has been recorded in Dolby Digital Stereo. English, Spanish, and French subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include a commentary from writer/director Frank Darabont, a making-of documentary, and a second documentary explaining how the film has attained such a high level of popularity, seeing as it was not exactly a blockbuster when it initially played in theaters. A Charlie Rose interview with Darabont and stars Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins, the movie's trailer, and a spoof of the film featuring sharks round out this first-rate release from Warner Bros.

A lot of Stephen King's stories are adapted to film and are disappointing to viewers. This one is not one of these films. I have watched this movie dozens of times. Each time I watch it, I almost forget that I know the ending, and I catch myself wondering what the outcome will be. This is a must as far as owning and viewing.

Do not buy this item. I had two of these towers. The first kept getting the blue screen of death (six times total). The second would never acknowledge the mouse or keyboard. I was extremely disappointed with this computer. Buyer beware.

First of all, I do not currently own the set. I have only watched it on HBO.
My wife and I absolutley love this 7 episode set. We watched it on HBO and may buy the set when it comes out. Regardless, the story that it tells is classic and deserves at least a shot by any doubter. Paul Giamatti is a Grade A actor that does a fantastic job. The thing that most impressed me is how close this show followed history. Also, I couldn't get over how close the actors looked to the real images of our founding fathers. Honestly, I could not be any more satisfied with how this 7 episode set played out.

The zombie-riffic Shaun of the Dead heads to the U.S. DVD shelves with this fine release from Rogue Pictures. Carrying over many (but not all) of the extras from the packed U.K. disc, this release has loads of special features for you to sink your teeth into, plus fantastic transfers to boot. Starting with the technical aspects, the DVD scores points for delivering the 2.35:1 widescreen image of the film, plus a quality Dolby Digital 5.1 track that whooshes you through the fast-paced action and bathes you inside the gore-filled gunfire later on in the film. The extras start with two commentaries -- one from star/co-writer Simon Pegg and director/co-writer Edgar Wright, while the other is a cast commentary featuring Pegg again with Nick Frost, Dylan Moran, Kate Ashfield, and Lucy Davis. The first track features some downright dizzying banter between the two collaborators as they dish out zombie trivia and generally give major love to all involved with the production, while the cast commentary is filled with more zany fun that's sure to please. This edition did miss out on both the Bill Nighy and Penelope Wilton commentary found in the U.K. release, along with the classic zombie commentary they included there as well, though hardcore fans will surely seek that edition out if they need it. The rest of the extras are packed with more bloody goodness, starting with the fact-filled "Zomb-O-Meter" subtitle track and "Storyboard Comparions" branching feature. Both extras add a bit more to the viewing experience every time you put the disc in, which is a sure sign of a solid DVD. Other bonus features include 15 extended scenes, ten minutes of outtakes, plus three neat comic-book stories by Oscar Wright (brother of the director) that fill in plot holes in the film -- and this disc has only begun to warm up. Add in a behind-the-scenes video diary, casting tapes, makeup tests, and an SFX comparison that is laid out in an incredibly easy-to-understand fashion that highlights the ingenuity of the film's effects staff. Also included is a highly interesting clip with Pegg and Wright filmed in September of 2001 where they literally go through a flip chart of the film as imagined at that time, complete with dialogue and storyboards. If you think that's all, there's still more to chew on and it's all great stuff, from the extra TV bits that were filmed for the movie all the way though the 2000 AD comic adaptation, included in the zombie gallery section. Those that visited the website will be happy to see the basic design layout repeated here on the menu screens, as will the horror fans out there that will appreciate the George Romero quote on the front of the box. Consistently entertaining with enough extras to shake a zombie at, the Shaun of the Dead DVD is a winner for U.S. audiences and proof that Rogue Pictures is a strong supporter of the film and its fans.

What can you add to a zombie movie to make it even more enjoyable? Hmm, maybe some British actors and British humor. I absolutely loved this movie. Being a zombie fan, this was definitely a different take on the whole zombie genre, and I dug it. Of all my buddies, I've never heard one of them say they didn't like this movie. But remember, it is completely full of British humor, which we Americans might not get at first. This is absolutely worth buying, because you'll watch it at least twice.

Great, awesome, hilarious, outstanding, etc. This is absolutely one of my favorite movies. It has tons of scenes and one-liners to keep you entertained. And, you'll probably be using some of the movie's famous one-liners for a few days. With this movie, and with some of the other comedies of the nineties, I suggest that you relax, let down your guard, and enjoy some of the simple humor this movie has to offer.
What's great about it: Jim Carrey in great form

This movie could have been a lot better, and it definitely should have been better. The only reason I didn't rate it lower is because of the visuals and Ray Winstone. To tell the truth, I haven't talked to many people who have loved this movie all the way.
What's great about it: cool visuals and good list of actors and actresses
What's not so great: though it would have impressed me more

They may look cute, but there's nothing nice about the characters in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. This fighting frenzy will have you inflicting painful KO's on familiar opponents you thought were your friends. Take your frustrations out on Link, Mario and other characters from throughout the gaming world. Shoot spaceships out of the sky in the Lylat System from the Star Fox games and deal out killer blows in Rumble Falls based on the look and feel of Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat.Hit opponent after opponent to build up your damage meter, then knock your enemies clear off the screen. Rely on weapons that are silly but very effective, such as banana peels, pitfalls, gooey bombs and many more. Hurl old-school crates and barrels or select from Assist Trophies and Poke Balls to strike fear in the hearts of your foes. Combine Standard, Strong and Smash attacks to bash your way to victory. There are so many ways to smash, you'll get lost in the melees for hours on end.

For my rating, I gave 4 stars. This is actually a combination rating. If you're playing this with some buddies, then its 5 stars, all the way. However, if you're playing this alone, then its 3 stars. I got bored way too soon playing solo. Yet, some buddies and I got together to play, and it was truly awesome. Maybe it was the trash-talking, interaction, etc. Whatever it was I highly enjoyed the multiplayer version because it could last for hours.
What's great about it: awesome multiplayer

how many tv inputs does the tv need to have to be able to play the wii

You only need one input. Yet, the one input should be the yellow/red/white input. Sometimes, you'll only have a yellow and a white input. The yellow is the video, and the white & red are the audio. If you don't have these, you'll have to get your hands on a coax converter, which hooks you into the 'threaded' device on the back of the tv, cable box, etc.

Hope this helps.....

Set up?

Is the Wii difficult to set up? Im not very tech talented.
Not at all. Its very simple and basic. Your 2 biggest questions will be if you want the Wii to be on its side or up. Then, where will you want the sensor bar. For me, I have the Wii in its stand, which is included in the box. And, I have the sensor bar at the bottom of my TV. Then, just plug in the power cable. And, finally hook up your red/white/yellow jacks to your TV. Congrats! Your now gaming like never before. Other than what I've mentioned, everything else is explained in the booklets that come with your Wii.
Hope this helps.

what is best deal for family of 7

Want to buy Wii console for Christmas, want to know what is best deal for our family of 7 ages 2-47. How many extra controller should I get (up to 4) ? Recommended games for beginners?
My advice, or what I did was as follows: buy Wii console, which comes with 1 controller and 1 nunchuk; buy Wii Play, which comes with a game and a controller (so the game is basically $10); buy an extra nunchuk; and, two extra controllers are luxuries, not necessarily must-haves, but you'll probably want them eventually (so that's ultimately up to you)

As for games for beginners, I would recommend WarioWare Smooth Moves. Which, its kinda goofy but still very fun, especially for the younger bunch. A newer game that TONS of people seem to like is Wii Sports Resort. It comes with a Wii MotionPlus accessory, which makes the Wii Remote more sensitive and accurate. If you get that game, I advise that you pick up another Wii MotionPlus accessory, which is $20. And, another favorite is Mario Kart Wii. A great racing game, and its definitely one of my favorites.

Hope this helps.

wii fit vs. wii fit plus

is there a difference betwee the wii fit and wii fit plus?
Wii Fit Plus offers the same package as Wii Fit (the original). Wii Fit Plus has the same workouts as Wii Fit, but with a few extra workouts. Your best bet would be to get Wii Fit Plus.

Other games compatible with Beatles R.B instruments

I just bought Beatles Rock Band Value Pack for my kids for christmas and I was wondering if the instruments and microphone is compatible with any Hero games? When I bought the bundle for Wii I was told they would work but now I have heard differently... really irritating. Stupid to have more than one set of instruments lying around.
I'm pretty sure that the Rock Band Beatles equip does not work with Guitar Hero games. However, the Guitar Hero equip works with Rock Band Beatles and Rock Band 2. But, not Rock Band (the original). My advice, would be to take back the Value Pack (if it isn't open), buy the Guitar Hero World Tour set for $99 (a lot of retailers have it for this amount, but not sure about Best Buy), buy the Rock Band Beatles software, and enjoy the tunes. All said and done, you should come out around the same price with an extra game. Rock Band's web page has a compatibility chart if you wanna check for sure. Hope this helps.
