Gold Standard Noise Cancellation

I have been a frequent flier for almost 20 years and first experienced Bose noise canceling headphones when the airline handed them out to business class passengers on a transatlantic flight. Since then I have owned almost every QuietComfort release of Bose's over-ear headphones. Bose noise cancelling technology is simply unmatched and can even be found in the cockpit with many pilots using a Bose Aviation headset, they trust the technology to ensure they hear critical communications clearly. Wouldn't you want the same clarity when listening to music or watching a movie on your next flight?
The QuietComfort 35 II is an incredible upgrade from my previous headphones. These now provide the ability to use either a wired connection to your device or using Bluetooth to supported devices. The volume controls on the headphones are a nice touch too.
I look forward to using these headphones on my flights this week.

Excellent Vacuum Cleaner

I have had the Shark vacuum cleaner for a few days and was very excited to try it. The TV commercial certainly made the vacuum look very good and our current vacuum had not been performing well. I was very pleased with the Shark right off the bat. Its small head made getting in places very easy. I was not able to get in some of these places with our previous other vacuum, which was not a Shark. My wife loves the different settings for carpet and hardwood. It picks up on the hardwood and does not spray any pieces anywhere. The Shark moves very well and rotates and swivels with ease; almost like it’s pulling itself. It is built very well and is easy to remove and install all the accessories. It comes apart for cleaning stairs and other areas so you do not have to pick up the entire vacuum everywhere. The cord length is good and I love the lights on the front.
The only downside I can find with the Shark is the handle seems a bit heavy when vacuuming.
All in all I am VERY pleased with the Shark and would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Keurig Rocks!!!

We have had Keurig coffee makers for years and while I'm not entirely sure why, the coffee from a Keurig simply tastes better than from traditional coffee makers. The Keurig comes with a small sample pack of coffee and other beverages such as hot chocolate, allowing you to try different K-cups before buying large packs of them. Personally, I love the Starbucks Breakfast blend and would definitely recommend those. Best Buy has excellent prices on the 16 packs of these K-cups and many more.

Excellent Home Juice Extractor

I chose the Philips Avance Collection Masticating Juice Extractor as my two sons go through an incredible amount of store bought juice. While other reviews I'd read online appear to suggest that this juice extractor doesn't get as much juice as the reviewer expected, I haven't found this to be much of an issue. It really depends on the type of fruit you place into the extractor.
The juicer comes with a really helpful recipe book and its a lot of fun trying out the recipes in the book but I've also had a lot of fun just making up our own recipes. Simple apple juice was amazing, it tasted like the apple cider we get at apple orchards in the holidays near where we live and yet we can make it at home.
Assembling the juicer is easy, just follow the simple steps outlined in the manual and cleaning it is also exceptionally easy. All the removable parts can be placed into the dish washer or washed by hand. Once you have put the juicer together a few times there is no need to keep the instructions nearby, it's easy to put together again.
Would definitely recommend this to any family, especially with kids that go through the store bought juice as quickly as ours.

Good Bluetooth Headphones

These headphones are quite sleek and visually appealing although I'm not a huge fan of the design of the actual ear inserts. The sound quality was good, although maybe lacking a little in terms of the bass, they seem to have good battery life. Pairing the headphones with a Windows 10 laptop was easy and should be easy also with most other devices / cell phones etc. Bluetooth range seemed to be quite good too as I was able to move around the house without loosing the connection to the laptop.
It would have been nice for JBL to provide a small case to carry these in, especially given the price of the headphones.

Samsung Connect Home is designed to provide whole home Wi-Fi with the addition of a SmartThings Hub for the Internet of Things. Wi-Fi connectivity is up to 866 Mbps which is fast enough for most users and supports homes up to 4500 square feet, my home is a little over 2500 square feet and Wi-Fi seems to be adequate across the home from both signal strength and connection speed. The one thing that is immediately noticeable is how small each of the three hubs are, they are nicely designed and look elegant in the home. It would have been nice to have more than two Ethernet connections on the back of the device, but that would have likely made the device larger and possibly not everyone has as many devices as I do that I want to connect via Ethernet.

Excellent Gaming Monitor with 144Hz Refresh

The HP Omen 25 is an excellent monitor and while it is designed with the gamer in mind the monitors refresh rate will be appreciated by non-gamers also. The monitor provides 1900x1200 resolution with 144Hz refresh, more than double the 30Hz or 60Hz that is typical on most PC monitors. HP provides two HDMI ports as well as a DisplayPort for connecting the monitor to your PC. I'm personally using the DisplayPort connection and as you can see in the screenshot, this is able to drive the display with the maximum 144Hz refresh rate. The only disappointing aspect of the design is the placement of the control buttons on the rear of the display. While they were likely going for a very clean look it's a little frustrating those buttons are not on the front of the display or at least on one side.

Incredible 2.1 Soundbar

The Sony HT-CT290 is an excellent compact soundbar providing 300 watts of total power across 2.1 channels. The system is exceptionally compact for the incredible sound that it produces. I paired the system with a 65" Sony 4K UHD television and it went along way to adding some awesome audio effects to the incredible visual experience. The Sony HT-CT290 supports the HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel) standard and you'll want to use the ARC connector on your television if it has one. The system also provides Bluetooth support to allow you to experience audio from your PC, phone or tablet. Another nice feature is that the soundbar is wall mountable although in my case I simply placed it upon a mantle below the wall mounted TV. The subwoofer though should be placed on the ground to one side or below the TV and can also be placed either upright or on its side if space is a premium. Simply put, if you're looking for incredible sound at an incredible price then you should definitely check out the Sony HT-CT290.

Incredible Headphones

I'm always on the lookout for great headphones as I work from home and travel extensively too. You can appreciate the attention to detail of these headphones even before hearing how they sound. The packaging definitely says that they have spent time on the little things as you can see in the attached photos with this review. The head phones are Bluetooth enabled and so are great for using with your tablet, phone or Bluetooth enabled PC. You can also pair these using NFC for devices that support NFC. A couple of years ago I discovered lossless audio and was blown away by the quality of the audio when compared with standard music CD's. It's awesome to see that these headphones support the Hi-Res Audio standard and they sound incredible. If you're looking for a high quality set of Bluetooth headphones I'd recommend checking these out.

Bose Quality Sound and Exceptional Science Project

I spent some time with my 13 year old son building the speaker within the BOSEBuild kit and it was a lot of fun. He found the app in the App Store (iOS) and was able to work through the experiments without any assistance from me. I almost wish I had two of them so I could have built one myself. The kit actually provides more than one speaker for you to learn from although only one of them is the Bluetooth speaker they'll want to use to listen to music afterwards. I'm only now wondering if I really wanted to have him be able to play his music as loud as he can do now, we don't exactly agree on what's good music. The kit was extremely fun to work through and I was very happy to see that he never once said he was bored with the experiments. The use of an app to guide the user through the experiments is an awesome idea as kids his age use their phones for everything. He especially liked the fact that the speaker has lights that change colors with the music. I also thought it was really cool that the circuits within the kit are labeled so you can see where the Bluetooth components are and other components on the board.

I have to say, this Bose sound bar was not what I was hoping for. It did not live up to expectations. I felt like set-up should have been a lot simpler than it was. The directions were incredibly limited and left a lot of unanswered questions.
Plus, there apparently isn't much in the way of support on Bose's website or their app for the new Soundtouch 300. I tried to set-up the Wifi through my home network but couldn't find the network that was supposed to be in my settings. I went through all of the steps on Bose's website for troubleshooting this, nothing worked. The Bose app doesn't even list the Soundtouch 300 yet!
Also, I'm not sure if it was my TV or the sound bar, but I couldn't not connect the sound bar using HDMI ARC. I had to use the optical cord instead.
All in all, the overall experience was below my expectations. Everything was frustrating, including trying to set up the universal remote with my devices. Nothing seemed to go like it was supposed to. I'm definitely not the most tech savvy person, but I can usually set up my new electronics without too much difficulty. I expected better from Bose (especially at this price point).

HDMI ARC

I was able to get the Bose SoundTouch 300 Soundbar to work with my Sony XBR-55X930D TV through the HDMI ARC connector. The manual provides some information about setting this up with an optical connection being available if HDMI ARC is either unavailable or you have issues with that connection. The Sony TV settings did not have a setting for CEC as referenced in the Bose manual although apparently the CEC setting is known by other names by various manufacturers. Would recommend calling Bose and/or the TV manufacturer for support.

Would the 2 piece system be Overkill for 3000 square feet?
We're using the AX5300 in our home which is 2600 square feet and the two nodes provide near perfect Wi-Fi throughout the home. I would definitely recommend having at least two nodes, especially having one upstairs and one downstairs for maximum coverage. That said, at the moment both of our nodes are downstairs and we're having no issues at all.

can u still use Keurig - My K-Cup® Universal Reusable Coffee Filter on the new machine??
This brewer is compatible with the Keurig Side Reservoir Water filter although it isn't included. You can purchase it as an accessory or use one from a previous Keurig if upgrading. It is not compatible with the rear reservoir water filter used in other Keurig models, only the side reservoir water filter.

Does it need the filters?
It does not come with the Side Reservoir Water Filter that has been provided with earlier models. It is compatible but must be purchased separately. If the water you use is already filtered you may not choose to purchase this accessory but it's available if you'd prefer.

Hi, does this soundbar support Dolby Atmos? It says it does on Sony's website: https://www.sony.com/electronics/sound-bars/ht-x9000f/buy/htx9000f It's confusing that it doesn't show Atmos support on your site.
The soundbar has a sticker on it indicating it supports Dolby Atmos and the Dobly Atmos logo is also on the product manual. It definitely supports Dolby Atmos.

The power adapter is voltage sensing and supports 110v to 240v and so you would simply need a plug adapter available at the airport or most electronics stores.

Is it compatible with 240v as well?
The power adapter supplied with the Google Home appears to support 110v to 240v, so you would simply need an adapter for the plug to work in the UK (for example).
