Affordable Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones

The Sony SP600N is a good choice if you're looking for affordable wireless noise canceling headphones. They are a small set of in-ear headphones connected together by a small cable with a volume controls and USB charging in the center. You might be wondering why these are wireless when I just mentioned the wire connecting the in-ear headphones. The connectivity to the music source is wireless and uses an app for iOS and Android from Sony. As soon as I connected the headphones to my iPhone I was prompted to go to the app store and download the app. I used the headphones while running on a treadmill and while it definitely helped cancel out the background noise I'd say the audio quality was good but not exceptional. Then again, these headphones are priced quite affordably and so it really wouldn't be fair to judge them against more expensive headphones. If you're looking for an affordable set of wireless headphones for sports then these are worth checking out.

4K HDR Deserves Incredible Audio

As someone who was an early adopter of 4K, who has had a few generations of Sony 4K televisions now, as well as someone who has discovered he is somewhat of an audiophile. I can tell you that the one thing that makes 4K HDR video all the more incredible is an incredible sound system. If you’re looking to pair your 4K HDR television with incredible audio in the form of a soundbar and wireless subwoofer then look no further. The Sony HT-X9000F provides incredible audio and is beautiful not only in it’s amazing design but also in its simplicity. You simply connect the soundbars output HDMI to the TV’s Audio Return Channel (ARC) HDMI connector and then connect your video and audio source, such as Blu-ray disc, Apple TV or satellite box etc., to the soundbars input HDMI. If however your TV does not have an HDMI labeled “ARC” then you can simply use an optical audio cable to connect TV to the soundbar. You might be surprised to know though that ARC is definitely the preferred method if your TV supports it.
As soon as you power on the soundbar it will automatically connect to the subwoofer (included) and you should see a green LED on the subwoofer. No need for any additional setup to pair the soundbar with the subwoofer. Simplicity is definitely something Sony was looking to provide here.
If your TV is wall mounted then the soundbar can be wall mounted right below the TV. The back of the soundbar is already prepared to be mounted to the wall and instructions on how to do this are provided. I’ll be doing this myself shortly and it looks almost as simple as the initial setup.
As soon as you power on the soundbar it will automatically connect to the subwoofer (included) and you should see a green LED on the subwoofer. No need for any additional setup to pair the soundbar with the subwoofer. Simplicity is definitely something Sony was looking to provide here.

Sony Brings 4K HDR Camera to Xperia XZ2 Compact

It has been some time since I have used an Android based phone and it was the camera on the Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact that brought me to consider Android once again. The phone boasts some significant capabilities, such as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor / chipset as well as 4GB of memory and 64GB of storage. The performance of the phone will not disappoint and there is obviously an excellent selection of apps and games available for the device. I'm traveling internationally and have enjoyed using the camera to take pictures as I explore Finland. The specifications of the phone are impressive although the phone design does not live up to these specifications. The phone design does not reflect the premium capabilities of the phone. Sony could have focused a little more on the styling of the phone as that is just as important as the specifications of the phone for many people. Finally, I'd have to say that the fingerprint reader on the rear of the phone seemed somewhat difficult to get used to. Placing it on the front of the device would have been easier to use in my opinion, although this would have limited the size of the screen given that this is a compact phone design. If you're looking for an Android based phone with some serious capabilities, I'd definitely recommend looking at the Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact.

Underwhelming Shaver

Firstly let me say that I'm somewhat new to electric shavers, having used a traditional disposable blade razor. I travel for work quite often and having an electric razor seemed like it would be a good idea. Unfortunately the head of this shaver, and maybe electric shavers in general, made it difficult to shave below the nose. The shaver does provide a trimmer that can be used for side burns and that might be able to shave below the nose but it didn't seem like that should be necessary.
I'll likely continue to use a traditional blade razor when at home and take this with me when traveling for a quick clean up before meetings. Using this shaver to shave after a few days of growth, the shaver left a few annoying hairs that I then needed to clean up with the razor.
The shaver was easy to clean though and can be rinsed with hot water, removing the shavings from under the blades. It was also quite comfortable, even with a few days of growth to clean up.

Sony Quality Sound and Waterproof Too!

The Sony SRS-XB41 is a portable Bluetooth speaker that packs a punch in terms of the audio as well as features. The Extra Bass feature will ensure your party is enhanced with the depth of every beat. The LED lighting is a cool feature although I appreciated that this can be easily turned off if you're using the speaker at home or otherwise don't need the light-show accompanying your music. One feature that our family will definitely enjoy is the fact this speaker is both waterproof and dustproof. It will find itself equally at home in the backyard by the pool as well as on the beach. Once the party is over you can easily wash it. The SRS-XB41 has an impressive battery life too, lasting 24 hours on a charge and you can select your music from your favorite devices using either Bluetooth or NFC. Overall we're very impressed with this speaker and we're looking forward to taking it on many trips this year.

Sony Quality Sound with Noise Cancellation

As someone who frequently travels by air and often travels internationally on long-haul flights, noise cancelling headphones have been an absolute necessity for me for years. I have tried almost every set of noise cancelling headphones on the market, including aviation headsets I have worn as a pilot myself. The Sony CH700N headphones are incredibly comfortable to wear and are exceptionally light. Given that noise cancellation was a major selling point of the CH700N I would have expected them to come with a case that protects them on the road, unfortunately this is not the case. That said however, the audio quality is quite impressive and the built-in Li-ion battery delivers up to 35 hours of power and is easily recharged via USB. Sony indicates that 10 minutes of charging will yield 60 minutes of playback although, given the headphones last 35 hours when fully charged, this wasn't a concern. It looks like I can now listen to music non-stop from Los Angeles to Sydney. Selecting what to listen to is easily achieved with either the supplied 3.5mm audio cable or Bluetooth and NFC. If you're taking calls during your travels then you'll find the built-in microphone useful and this can also be used with Siri or Google's assistant.

Nest Does It Again! Awesome Smart Home Lock

As someone that was already using two of the second generation Nest thermostats in the home I was really interested in trying the Nest x Yale lock. After installing one of the Nest x Yale locks I even went and bought another for the garage side door. Installation is quite easy and I'd recommend having the YouTube installation video on a device nearby during the installation. Ideally, watch the video a few times to familiarize yourself with the installation of the lock and then get all the tools together and the installation should be quite easy. Nest created this YouTube video themselves and so if you first find a video that was created by someone else and posted to YouTube, I'd recommend finding the official one also. Installation took me about 30 minutes and would have been quicker if the previous locks hardware was the same size. I therefore had to use a small wood chisel to resize the cutout on the side of the door. Nothing too challenging but having a chisel available would be recommended. You don't want to have to run to the hardware store with the lock removed from your front door. I have added a picture of the tools that I used for the installation. You may not require all of them but these tools were what I used for the installation myself. Beyond the installation the lock operates as you would expect, using passcodes to enter the home. The Nest x Yale lock operates on four AA batteries that are included. The Nest app will alert you as the batteries nead replacing. I'm really impressed yet again with a Nest product and look forward to adding additional Nest products to our home in the near future.

Great Office Projector

The Epson - Pro EX7260 720p is an excellent choice for office projector and offers some excellent features. The EX7260 provides bright vivid colors in 1280x800 resolution at 3600 lumens and it does so with a wireless connection. The EX7260 comes with an excellent case that can be used to take it on the road or simply protect it when not in use. The projector is compatible with Windows and MacOS and can also be used from smart phones and tablets. If you're looking for an excellent data projector then I'd definitely recommend checking out the EX7260.

Awesome Sound and Waterproof / Dust proof

Sony has delivered an incredible speaker with some truly innovative features. It's waterproof and dustproof and Sony also claims it is also Shock proof although I'll wait until its accidentally dropped to test that feature. The sound is incredible and will last for 24 hours on a charge. The party lighting will likely appeal to many users and certainly adds to the coolness factor for your next beach party. The back of the speaker includes a waterproof cover that allows access to USB and charging ports along with the Audio In port that will allow you to connect a 3.5mm cable from a sound source although with Bluetooth you'll likely not need that often.

Simply Solution to Wi-Fi Range Problems

As a parent of teenagers there never appears to be enough Wi-Fi signal or bandwidth in our home, even with a fiber connection. The Linksys RE9000 provides an effective solution allowing you to simply extend the range of your existing Wi-Fi router. Linksys has been known for years for providing quality networking equipment and I personally do not use any other manufacturer for networking. Setup of the RE9000 is incredibly easy and you'll be eliminating Wi-Fi dead zones in no time. One feature that I personally really value is the four high-speed Ethernet ports on the device. This can be incredibly useful as some routers and range extenders provide only one or two Ethernet ports. Highly recommended!

I have to say, this Bose sound bar was not what I was hoping for. It did not live up to expectations. I felt like set-up should have been a lot simpler than it was. The directions were incredibly limited and left a lot of unanswered questions.
Plus, there apparently isn't much in the way of support on Bose's website or their app for the new Soundtouch 300. I tried to set-up the Wifi through my home network but couldn't find the network that was supposed to be in my settings. I went through all of the steps on Bose's website for troubleshooting this, nothing worked. The Bose app doesn't even list the Soundtouch 300 yet!
Also, I'm not sure if it was my TV or the sound bar, but I couldn't not connect the sound bar using HDMI ARC. I had to use the optical cord instead.
All in all, the overall experience was below my expectations. Everything was frustrating, including trying to set up the universal remote with my devices. Nothing seemed to go like it was supposed to. I'm definitely not the most tech savvy person, but I can usually set up my new electronics without too much difficulty. I expected better from Bose (especially at this price point).

HDMI ARC

I was able to get the Bose SoundTouch 300 Soundbar to work with my Sony XBR-55X930D TV through the HDMI ARC connector. The manual provides some information about setting this up with an optical connection being available if HDMI ARC is either unavailable or you have issues with that connection. The Sony TV settings did not have a setting for CEC as referenced in the Bose manual although apparently the CEC setting is known by other names by various manufacturers. Would recommend calling Bose and/or the TV manufacturer for support.

Would the 2 piece system be Overkill for 3000 square feet?
We're using the AX5300 in our home which is 2600 square feet and the two nodes provide near perfect Wi-Fi throughout the home. I would definitely recommend having at least two nodes, especially having one upstairs and one downstairs for maximum coverage. That said, at the moment both of our nodes are downstairs and we're having no issues at all.

can u still use Keurig - My K-Cup® Universal Reusable Coffee Filter on the new machine??
This brewer is compatible with the Keurig Side Reservoir Water filter although it isn't included. You can purchase it as an accessory or use one from a previous Keurig if upgrading. It is not compatible with the rear reservoir water filter used in other Keurig models, only the side reservoir water filter.

Does it need the filters?
It does not come with the Side Reservoir Water Filter that has been provided with earlier models. It is compatible but must be purchased separately. If the water you use is already filtered you may not choose to purchase this accessory but it's available if you'd prefer.

Hi, does this soundbar support Dolby Atmos? It says it does on Sony's website: https://www.sony.com/electronics/sound-bars/ht-x9000f/buy/htx9000f It's confusing that it doesn't show Atmos support on your site.
The soundbar has a sticker on it indicating it supports Dolby Atmos and the Dobly Atmos logo is also on the product manual. It definitely supports Dolby Atmos.

The power adapter is voltage sensing and supports 110v to 240v and so you would simply need a plug adapter available at the airport or most electronics stores.

Is it compatible with 240v as well?
The power adapter supplied with the Google Home appears to support 110v to 240v, so you would simply need an adapter for the plug to work in the UK (for example).
