Whole Home WI-FI and Family Security

The Amped Wireless ALLY Plus is a Whole Home Wi-Fi system that consists of a primary router as well as a range extender. The system claims to provide Whole Home Wi-Fi for homes as large as 15,000 square feet although our home is only 2,500 square feet. The system performs well and like many other Wi-Fi systems available on the market today, the setup is performed via the mobile app which is available for both iOS and Android. Where this system really excels though is with it's security features that allow parents to assign user profiles to individual users to control what kids access online and how long they can be accessing the Internet. The app even provides reports of what kids are accessing online as well as alerts when other devices try and connect to your network. Generally speaking, the system works well and provides adequate speeds to support services such as Netflix, Amazon Video and other streaming services.

Excellent 4K Reciever

I have two Sony 4K TV's in the house and have quite a few 4K UHD Blu-Ray titles and so I'm always looking for ways to improve the experience of watching movies in 4K. If you want to get the most out of your 4K TV then you'll want to invest in a good set of speakers and use a 4K receiver such as the Sony STR-DN1080.
The STR-DN1080 provides support for the standard 7.2 speaker setup although more expensive receivers can provide support for additional speakers. The receiver provides 165W of power per channel which should be more than enough for the average user and it supports several of the most recent advances in audio such as Dolby ATMOS and DTS-X.
On the rear of the Sony STR-DN1080 you'll find a well designed set of inputs and outputs as well as the antennas for Bluetooth devices. There are six HDMI inputs as well as two HDMI outputs. On the audio side there are outputs for the front, center, surround, surround back, subwoofer and zone 2 speakers . The optical input also comes in handy and I personally use that for audio from a nearby desktop PC too.
The reciever sounds awesome and was tested with some premium speakers in a 5.1 configuration. This reciever will certainly not disappoint.
The only criticism I might have would be the remote control. It does what you need but it won't win any design awards. If it were slightly rounded it might feel better in the hand. I'd add a picture of that but unfortunately I'm limited to uploading two pictures and I figure most people would be more concerned with the reciever itself. If you want to see the remote control you can search online for the RMT-AA320U.

The HP Omen Desktop 870-244 provides an incredible amount of power from the 7th generation Intel Core i7 and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 graphics card. As you can see with the pictures in this review, there is also a lot of expandability within the case of this PC for additional drives. There is room for several additional hard drives or SATA based solid state drives. Unfortunately, there isn't room for adding additional PCIe cards into the PC given the PC case design is quite compact and the NVIDIA GTX 1070 is a full size very powerful graphics card. That said however, there really isn't anything else you would need to add as HP has provided a very capable PC for gaming or writing the occasional paper for high school or college. One really nice feature is that the 16GB of memory came in two DIMM's, leaving another two memory slots free if you'd like to expand the memory to 32GB. This is an incredible amount of compute power with the Intel Core i7 and graphics power with the NVIDIA GeForce 1070.

Incredible Cord-Free Vacuum

Dyson is known for innovation and the Dyson v8 Animal lives up to the history of innovation at Dyson. We've owned three generations of the full-size Dyson vacuum cleaners and honestly wouldn't consider any other brand at this time. While we'll likely continue to use the full-size Dyson for most of the cleaning in the home, the Dyson v8 cord-free vacuum really comes into it's own when getting to more challenging areas of the home or outside in the car. The Dyson v8 arrived partially charged although you'll want to charge it fully before using it beyond just checking it out for a few moments. As with other vacuum cleaners by Dyson, the v8 Animal comes with an assortment of attachments that make it truly versatile. The box suggests that the v8 Animal will provide 40 minutes of "fade-free" suction and it appears to deliver on this promise. As with other Dyson vacuum cleaners, the suction does not disappoint. It will easily clean the most challenging areas of your home or office and I only wish I'd bought one of these sooner!

Taking Presentations to the Next Level

I do quite a few presentations for work and the Logitech Spotlight is an exceptional tool to help any presenter take their presentations to the next level. The device itself is exceptionally well designed, it's light weight, fits comfortably within the hand and works well with both Windows and MacOS. You'll easily be able to navigate within your presentation, moving back and forth within your slides as well as highlighting and magnifying within the presentation. The Logitech Spotlight charges exceptionally quickly via the USB-C to USB cable provided and connects to your PC or Mac using Bluetooth. This will definitely become a critical component of my presentations now. If your job involves presentations then I'd definitely recommend using the Logitech Spotlight. You won't regret it.

Excellent Security Camera System

While our home is already monitored by a home security company we did not have video cameras as part of the existing system. Nether Arlo makes it incredibly easy to setup security cameras within your home and to receive alerts when movement is detected by the cameras.
Netgear provides iOS and Android apps for the Arlo camera system. I personally used the iOS app on an iPad and setting up the Arlo base station and the two cameras was easily accomplished in around 10 minutes.
Installing the camera where you want it to monitor your home or business is easy. The kit provides mounts that are installed with a single screw and the rear of the camera contains a magnet that secures the camera to the mount. The Arlo app provides a positioning capability that allows you to use the app to review the position of the camera and make minor adjustments. The video quality of the camera is very impressive and can be customized within the app to either choose higher quality video or a lower quality video to extend the battery life of the camera.
The system is easily expanded by purchasing additional Arlo cameras and adding them to your Arlo account using the iOS and Android apps.
Netgear provides free Cloud storage of the videos the system captures for 7 days and subscriptions are available if you would like to store the videos longer than that.
As someone who works from home, the system makes it really easy to tell whether I should get up and answer the front door during a meeting. You can easily tell whether this is FedEx or simply some neighborhood kids looking to play with your children.
While the iOS and Android apps are a great start, it would be awesome to see Netgear add support for Windows and MacOS apps so that the cameras can be monitored on your PC or Mac.
Overall, this is an incredibly affordable and impressive security video system and I would definitely recommend it to friends and family!

The Linksys Whole Home Wi-Fi system enables you to use a Wi-Fi mesh to provide strong Wi-Fi signals throughout your whole home. The system supports homes up to 6,000 square feet using a modular system where you place nodes throughout your home. If you need to add additional nodes at a later time you can buy additional Velop nodes to expand the coverage further.
Linksys has developed an elegant solution, both in terms of the technology as well as the presentation. Unlike the Wi-Fi routers that Velop is intended to replace, you're unlikely to want to hide the Velop nodes as they look sophisticated. Linksys has also focused upon the unboxing experience, the Velop packaging is exceptional although no one purchases such a device for the unboxing experience so let's get back to reviewing the system itself.
The Velop system is simple to install and unlike traditional routers which are configured by logging into a secure Webpage, you setup the Velop system using a companion mobile app for iOS or Android.
The app walks you through the entire process and was exceptionally easy to setup.
If there was one reason why the review only received four stars, rather than five, it would be that each node only provides two Ethernet connections. On one node you have one Ethernet connection for the WAN (e.g. your incoming Internet service) and the other connection configured as a LAN. The LAN connection enables you to provide a wired connection to a PC, Blu-ray player or TV, for example. Additional Velop nodes within the system will then provide two LAN connections that can provide wired Internet connections.
While the focus of the system is obviously to provide Wi-Fi throughout the home, many users such as myself will find themselves wishing there were additional LAN connections. I'd like to see four Ethernet connections on each node in the future, although that may require each node to be a little larger.
Overall I'm extremely impressed with the Velop system and it is providing excellent Wi-Fi connectivity throughout our 2550 square foot home.

Incredible Smoothies and More

I was very impressed with how well made the Ninja is. I like the suction cups on the bottom of the device that keeps it from moving on the counter. All the parts are extremely well made and seem very durable. The accessories are dishwasher safe although it's suggested you only place them within the top of your dishwasher. The consistency of the smoothies turn out just like those at your local smoothie bar. I can't believe how many functions are provided and the versatility of this device is incredible; this is not just about making smoothies and other drinks, it is also incredibly useful for making all kinds of foods. We are especially looking forward to trying the Salmon Burgers soon along with the many other recipes that came in the cook book provided with the Ninja. It was also very cool to see that the Ninja can be expanded with many accessories.

Excellent for the Road Warrior Professional

I travel extensively for work and have used earlier Philips Norelco multi-groom trimmers while on the road,this one will definitely be along with me for upcoming trips. While other reviewers have criticized the number of attachments that accompany this trimmer I personally like the versatility they provide. I have to say, this Bose sound bar was not what I was hoping for. It did not live up to expectations. I felt like set-up should have been a lot simpler than it was. The directions were incredibly limited and left a lot of unanswered questions.
Plus, there apparently isn't much in the way of support on Bose's website or their app for the new Soundtouch 300. I tried to set-up the Wifi through my home network but couldn't find the network that was supposed to be in my settings. I went through all of the steps on Bose's website for troubleshooting this, nothing worked. The Bose app doesn't even list the Soundtouch 300 yet!
Also, I'm not sure if it was my TV or the sound bar, but I couldn't not connect the sound bar using HDMI ARC. I had to use the optical cord instead.
All in all, the overall experience was below my expectations. Everything was frustrating, including trying to set up the universal remote with my devices. Nothing seemed to go like it was supposed to. I'm definitely not the most tech savvy person, but I can usually set up my new electronics without too much difficulty. I expected better from Bose (especially at this price point).

HDMI ARC

I was able to get the Bose SoundTouch 300 Soundbar to work with my Sony XBR-55X930D TV through the HDMI ARC connector. The manual provides some information about setting this up with an optical connection being available if HDMI ARC is either unavailable or you have issues with that connection. The Sony TV settings did not have a setting for CEC as referenced in the Bose manual although apparently the CEC setting is known by other names by various manufacturers. Would recommend calling Bose and/or the TV manufacturer for support.

Would the 2 piece system be Overkill for 3000 square feet?
We're using the AX5300 in our home which is 2600 square feet and the two nodes provide near perfect Wi-Fi throughout the home. I would definitely recommend having at least two nodes, especially having one upstairs and one downstairs for maximum coverage. That said, at the moment both of our nodes are downstairs and we're having no issues at all.

can u still use Keurig - My K-Cup® Universal Reusable Coffee Filter on the new machine??
This brewer is compatible with the Keurig Side Reservoir Water filter although it isn't included. You can purchase it as an accessory or use one from a previous Keurig if upgrading. It is not compatible with the rear reservoir water filter used in other Keurig models, only the side reservoir water filter.

Does it need the filters?
It does not come with the Side Reservoir Water Filter that has been provided with earlier models. It is compatible but must be purchased separately. If the water you use is already filtered you may not choose to purchase this accessory but it's available if you'd prefer.

Hi, does this soundbar support Dolby Atmos? It says it does on Sony's website: https://www.sony.com/electronics/sound-bars/ht-x9000f/buy/htx9000f It's confusing that it doesn't show Atmos support on your site.
The soundbar has a sticker on it indicating it supports Dolby Atmos and the Dobly Atmos logo is also on the product manual. It definitely supports Dolby Atmos.

If the product does support Dolby Atmos, why don't you list that in the description or specifications? Also, why doesnt it show up when I filter for Dolby Atmos sound bars? You should fix your site.

The power adapter is voltage sensing and supports 110v to 240v and so you would simply need a plug adapter available at the airport or most electronics stores.

Is it compatible with 240v as well?
The power adapter supplied with the Google Home appears to support 110v to 240v, so you would simply need an adapter for the plug to work in the UK (for example).
