I wasn't sure what to expect from this but after having watched it I was struck by how insightfully funny so many of the bits were. It seems awkwardly autobiographical at times but celebrates growing older as well.
Nearly 14 years after the original series ended, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson return as FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully for a six-episode run of the hit sci-fi series. The duo is back investigating strange cases such as UFO sightings, alien abductions and all things paranormal. Mulder, of course, is still a strong believer in the paranormal world, while Scully, a medical doctor, is a natural skeptic who provides a counterbalance to her partner's faithful approach. This multi-disc set includes episode commentaries, a behind-the-scenes look at The Event Series, a gag reel, and a compilation of the most memorable Monster of the Week moments.
A return to the X-files style and fun. The ending was sorely disappointing but the comedy episode in particular was a hoot. It does feel a little like they're cashing in including trying to reboot with new agents.
This release compiles all 23 episodes from the fourth season of Castle. This run of shows finds Beckett getting closer to the truth about her mother's death, as Castle grows more protective of her.
Despite being a police procedural, this series continues to be a comedy first and features clever pop culture writing and fun acting from the whole ensemble.
Great music from a classic band with insightful exploration of their tour. Wish the movie was longer than 90 minutes, but the cd will be listened to over and over again.
I didn't expect this cd to be as good as it was. Some of the covers are better than the originals. I especially liked the self-covered Parasite. Smoking!
Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey and Emilia Clarke star in the fifth season of the HBO fantasy drama series Game of Thrones, a show based on the A Song of Ice and Fire series of novels by George R.R. Martin and adapted for television by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. All ten episodes of Season Five are featured in this collection, as Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) joins the mysterious House of Black and White to become an assassin, Daenerys (Clarke) and Tyrion (Dinklage) join forces, Margaery Tyrell (Natalie Dormer) continues her quest for power at the expense of Cersei (Headey), and the villainous Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon) continues to leave a trail of terror.
Though production values are very high and the awards are dog-piling for this particular season, this was a season that did not hold up as well when considering how unrealistic many of the twists were, especially if you were a man. Almost all strong male roles have been eliminated like an episode of Buffy. The GOT world is run by children and women, many of which are capable but apparently they're all who are. Considering how vast the cultures and geography has been though, hats off for capable direction, cinematography, design and costuming.
