All ten episodes of the award-winning medical drama series' second season, set in 1901, is available in this collection. Dr. John Thackery (Clive Owen) continues to perform cutting-edge operations, including an electrical brain stimulation and a devised procedure to seperate conjoined twins, all while battling a heroin addiction that is becoming increasingly dire. Meanwhile, the gifted Dr. Algernon Edwards (Andre Holland), who has ascended to the role of acting chief of surgery, continues to face racially-charged disrespect while dealing with the reappearance of his strong-willed wife, Opal (Zaraah Abrahams). Subplots include Nurse Elkins' (Eve Hewson) search for personal and professional fulfillment, a fiery, near-death experience and various other events in and out of Knickerbocker Hospital with grave consequences. All ten episodes are directed by Academy Award-winning director Steven Soderbergh.
I'm a newcomer to Mastodon. Emperor of Sand sounds like they have great talent but the effort feels almost too calculated or restrained. I would look forward to hearing a more raw unrehearsed version.
Paul has given us so much over the years. Many of the cuts on this disc are enjoyable but you have so many more albums to choose from that perhaps you should explore one of his stronger efforts, such as the Wings Over America collection or the great Band On The Run.
Gary Clark has an extra spark in his live performance, though being an old rocker I would prefer more exquisite hard rock cuts. Still, he is to be applauded for mixing things up.
One of the greatest albums of all time remastered released with a DVD of a bunch of classic concert footage (nice outfits!) and a fun Alex interview as well as some behind the scenes of the cover tunes by other bands. As always, Rush rules and 2112 asserts its dominion over the solar system!
Most of these songs I knew from their previous incarnations and all of them are fun covers that may even surpass the originals in energy. Heathens was my favorite!
I didn't expect to really like this but the performances were terrific, especially the Lazarus version of "It's No Game" plus I got a bonus disc of four Bowie-performed songs.
I'm a fair weather Bruce fan but have to acknowledge his passion and dedication. The bonus tracks on this release left much to be desired, though granted they are from his formative years. The ones I like the best are still the classics. Born To Run still hits my sweet spot. Unfortunately, I've already got terrific copies of those tracks. I hope The Boss continues to produce great music though and wish him and the gang the best.
It's always a pleasure to see Arnold in action. He always seems to be winking at the camera. This movie was fun but the premise is that history has been altered yet again and it's a whole new ballgame. It makes the whole franchise seem less by constantly making the movies that came before have less meaning. Sarah Connor seems to be getting shorter!
The Band Of Gypsy line-up was always a refreshing break from The Experience line-up. These songs find a pleasurable groove and we get to experience the concert as a member of the audience in a more naturalistic flow than before.
