Meet the Fockers, the most successful live-action comedy ever at the time of its release, debuts on DVD with a variety of extras that will not disappoint those who enjoyed the feature-heavy release of Meet the Parents. In addition to a commentary track recorded by director Jay Roach and editor Jon Poll, four featurettes offer a behind-the-scenes look at various aspects of production. One follows the propmasters as they create the "manary gland." This disc offers viewers the chance to experience an extended version of the film that contains scenes that were trimmed from the theatrical release. A disappointing blooper reel has been included as well. The film is presented in a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. English, French, and Spanish soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. This is a solid presentation of a huge box-office hit.

Better film than the 1st GOOD NOT PERFECT FILM
on July 23, 2008

I Like this film better than the 1st.
Why. Adding Dustin Hoffman & Barbra Streisand.
I am not a fan of Barbra’s but she & Dustin were great in their roles to me. Added with DeNiro 3 Oscar winners.
The 3 of them with Blythe Danner are perfect in their roles.
Teri Polo has a role that is just a watcher of course.
Now, I am NOT a fan of Ben Stiller. He does his usual routine in this role as he did in the 1st & in “There’s Something About Mary”. Same lying, put out then blows his top role. Wish they could have gotten a better actor for the role.
And, we MOST DEFINITELY could have done WITHOUT Owen Wilson in both films.
As for the DVD, it is a good package. I like extras & this one has the kind I like. Deleted scenes, bloopers, etc.
A BIG MINUS FOR THE DVD, IT HAS THE HORRIBLE LITTLE FLIP OPEN FLAPS ON IT.
Otherwise, you should enjoy the film.
What's great about it: Better film than the 1st GOOD NOT PERFECT FILM
What's not so great: Stiller & Wilson

Marking the directorial debut of Adam McKay, former head writer for Saturday Night Live and founder of the Upright Citizen's Brigade, Anchorman is set during the 1970s and stars Will Ferrell as Ron Burgundy, San Diego's top-rated news anchorman. While Burgundy is outwardly willing to adjust to the idea of females in the workplace -- even outside of secretarial positions -- he certainly doesn't want his own job challenged. Keeping that in mind, it's no wonder that the arrival of Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate), an aspiring newswoman, is, in Ron's eyes, not the studio's most welcome addition. After Veronica pays her dues covering so-called female-oriented fluff pieces (think cat fashion shows and cooking segments), the ambitious Veronica sets her eyes on the news desk; more specifically, on Ron's seat behind it. Not unpredictably, Ron doesn't take the threat lightly, and it isn't long before the rival newscasters are engaged in a very personal battle of the sexes. Anchorman was co-written by Ferrell, and features supporting performances from David Koechner, Steve Carrell, Paul Rudd, Tara Subkoff, and Maya Rudolph.

ONLY Will Ferrell movie I like
on July 13, 2008

I had caught this film on pay cable when it came on in 2005.
Surprised me I liked it.
At the time of release, it was original idea for a film I thought.
It is the ONLY Will Ferrell film I like where he is the lead character.
Now of course EVERY ear he does a similar film like all the sports films basketball, NASCAR & ice skating where this good Anchorman idea keeps being repeated.
The cast were perfect in their roles. Did NOT need Luke Wilson though. Unnecessary. And, I do NOT like the Wilson brothers.
Now, the DVD package it's.
I expected more since it is a "Unrated, Uncut, & Uncalled For!".
1. Has those HORRIBLE little flaps tat are a pain & terrible to have to open up.
2. NO chapter search list or any information on the film inside.
Good soundtrack for the film
What's great about it: ONLY Will Ferrell movie I like
What's not so great: BAD DVD package

Best soundtrack of all time!!

What can you say about the best movie soundtrack of all time?
This is John Williams at his best.
Well deserved the Oscar for it.
Remember seeing the film for the 1st time. Music perfectly fit the scenes & characters.
How many times has this soundtrack been released? There is a problem-over released. Blame George of course.
You never get tired of hearing it.
What's great about it: John Williams at his best
What's not so great: Nothing wrong with it

Very good film

I was first in the door opening day in my home town for all 3 of these films.
If you are a fan the original 2003 DVD package set with the 3 films was MUCH better.
That had additional discs with the extras. This set only has the 3 disc for extra film with some extras on each.
NO chapter search list for any film.
THEN, an unnecessary paper that comes off & you have to put some place because it does NOT attach to the box.
This set was put out in time for the release of the 4th film 5-22-08. POOR set to get interest for the new film.
The new extras are good BUT NEEDS THEIR OWN DISC LIKE THE 2003 DVD PACKAGE.

Good Disney film-package not exciting
on July 10, 2008
Posted by: CKCSWHFFAN

I have always enjoyed this film being a Disney fan.
Good though NOT great.
Being an anniversary edition release on DVD (or the 2cd release of it on DVD) that package however is nothing special.
Only a 1 disc package. NOT a lot of extras. No making of special or anything. Only extra of interest to me is a segment on the Oscar winning Sherman Brothers.
True, this film was not a big box office hit for the studio so you can understand why no real special package here in my opinion.
BUT, the studio did market it for the 45th anniversary so you would think there would have been something more special about this DVD release.
What's great about it: Good, not great Disney film
What's not so great: NOTHING special about the DVD package

Decent Disney film
on May 5, 2008
Posted by: CKCSWHFFAN
from home
This film was done of course, in what I would call ‘Disney’s Off Years”.
Not up to their usual standards, was not a huge hit. Could have been if improvements in script & characters.
It is only a good film.
Bringing Phil Harris as “Little John” & making “Little John” a bear just because of the success with 1967’s ‘The Jungle Book” “Baloo” character.
ONLY a 1 disc version of the film.
Some extras but nothing major. No Making Of or anything like that.
NOTHING special like information on film inside.
And, something I HATE in DVD packaging. THESE HORRIBLE CASES WITH THE LITTLE OPEN UP FLAPS!! THESE NEED TO BE DONE AWAY WITH!!
What's great about it: Decent, good
What's not so great: NOT usual Disney standards

Good family show
on April 16, 2008
Posted by: CKCSWHFFAN

I got into watching the show in repeats several years ago.
It was a good show, BUT not great.
Cast was good, although I did NOT like the twins nor Dave’s characters Joey Gladstone. TOO MUCH REPEATS IN EPISODES OF THE SAME CARTOON VOICES.
Let’s go for several points, errors, made in the show:
1. Having actors play different characters in multiple episodes
2. Repeating story lines-OK how many times did adult characters miss some event for 1 of the girls because their car broke down some place?
3. Storylines taken from other TV shows. Being a Partridge Family fan I saw they take from this show.
4. How many mothers did we have for Jesse, Danny & Joey?
5. 1st season ALL the guys were typical guys & messy. EVEN DANNY where in the later seasons he was the neat freak.
6. The famous change to Jesse’s last name.
Now, as for the DVD package. I like extras. THERE ARE BASICALLY NONE. Where are cast interviews or commentary? Would have liked to have that with this package.
What's great about it: Good not great
What's not so great: Where do I begin?

A disappointing DVD package to a good Disney film
on March 19, 2008
Posted by: CKCSWHFFAN

I have always enjoyed this film.
Being a Disney fan it is hard not to. But, it is NOT among their best in my opinion. Remember, the 1st complete animated release after Walt’s passing in December 1966. He had worked on the MUCH better The Jungle Book.
When I saw there was going to be this special edition I normally really love Disney’s special edition or Platinum DVD releases.
Man, what a disappointment. For the price.
Only a 1 disc package. WHERE IS THE 2CD DISC WITH SOME GOOD EXTRAS?
There is no ’Making of” or “Behind the Scenes” on the film. I normally really enjoy watching these.
Good to have the film in wide screen.
About ½ of the “extras” on this 1 DISC DVD PACKAGE, AGAIN SAYING SPECIAL EDITION, were just fun activities for kids. How about the adults? ONLY kids want Disney films on DVD?
Let’s hope Disney does a better job the next time they release this film on DVD.
What's great about it: Good film-NOT great
What's not so great: WHERE ARE THE GOOD EXTRAS?

Very good but violent film SPOILERS
on February 23, 2008

I was looking forward to seeing this film.
I was not disappointed.
Russell (the reason I bought this DVD package) was great. Denzel did a good job as well.
Interesting story to follow.
The film is long but in this case you do not mind. You do NOT get bored.
I did NOT like however the unnecessary nudity. AND WE DID NOT NEED TO SHOOT THE DOG.
Excellent DVD package. Although some of the extras were TV specials or parts of programs I had already taped.
It is, of course, violent.
If you are a fan of Russell ‘s, Denzel’s or Ridley’s you will enjoy the film.
I input this review the day before the 2008 Oscars. TOO BAD the films did not get more nominations.
What's great about it: Very good film-great DVD package
What's not so great: Unnecessary nudity

The Kardashian sisters feel the impact of celebrity in this season, when Khloé must deal with the very public aftermath of her DUI, while Kim and Kourtney contend with sibling rivalry as their professional and personal relationships blur.

Guilty pleasure, MUCH IMPROVED OVER SEASON 2
By CKCSWHFFAN from home
Yes, the show is a guilty pleasure.
Episodes that aired in 2009. 12 episodes this season
Now, THE IMPROVEMENTS. 1. The episodes are wide screen, 2. Disc 1 has deleted scenes & 3. Disc 2 has commentary for episodes. Why not with each episode-no clue about that. But it is MUCH better than the blog from Rob on season 2.
Now, this time out apparently there are ONLY 3 Kardashians in this season. Kourtney, Kim & Khloe are only shown on both sides of the DVD case. BOTH discs have the same photo of them. So, they do NOT give credit to Kris, Bruce, Rob, Kendall & Kylie? Show is called Keeping Up With The Kardashians NOT Keeping Up With The Kardashian Sisters.
1 big mistake done again on this DVD. Same CHEAP, PLASTIC DVD CASE WITH THE INTENTIONAL HOLES IN IT. CHEAP & NOT SAFE. Apparently the DVD makers just want people to buy this over & over again since the DVD are NOT safely secure.
And, a point for anyone. There was MASS CONFUSION ABOUT THE RELEASE DATE OF THIS DVD. It was released 8-17-10. Some stores & websites changed the date until 9-21-10. THIS WAS UNTRUE. I purchased the DVD from a local store 8-18-10. So, make sure IF you want it check with the store. DO NOT GO BY PRINTED MATERIAL
