A good film but NOT AS GOOD AS THE ORIGINAL
on December 19, 2008

I’ve always liked the film. Saw it in the theater.
The cast is still perfect in their roles.
Good film BUT NOT CLOSE TO THE ORIGINAL.
The story was lacking Dana got married & divorce between films & has Oscar. So, The spark between her & Peter was lost.
Bill you can NOT beat his performance in both films as Venkman.
The DVD package. Lack of anything special. NO EXTRAS EXCEPT 2 EPISODES OF THE ANIMATED SHOW. CHEAP.
REAL CHEAP.
They did NOT even add a trailer or anything else. No video for the Bobby Brown song. Nothing.
Next time we release the film on DVD LET'S DO A BETTER JOB. YOU GUYS DID NOT EVEN TRY.
What's not so great: NO GOOD EXTRAS-CARTOONS EPISODES??????
I would recommend this to a friend!

A show you can NOT help watching

Ok, a guilty pleasure.
I got into watching the show when it came on.
Course, you have only a short season of 8 episodes.
A down side-EPISODES AS THEY AIRED ON E! THEY SHOW BE UNCUT.
Ok extras-1 extra program & episode commentary by the older sisters.
I will purchase season 2 when it is released & will watch the 3rd season when aired spring of 2009.
Yes, I guilty pleasure I would say I watch.
What's great about it: OK DVD
What's not so great: JUST 1 DISC FOR A SEASON?
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great film

This is a great film.
IT SHOULD HAVE WON THE ACADEMY AWARD FOR BEST PICTURE OF 1997 INSTEAD OF THAT NUDIE BOAT MOVIE.
Although not my personal favorite film of 1997, that honor goes to "Air Force One".
I am glad they FINALLY came out with this 2 disc special edition. SHOULD have come out in 2007 for the 10th anniversary.
It was this film I learned about Russell Crowe. Became a fan at once. And, another SHOULD, he SHOULD have been nominated an Oscar as well.
The cast are perfect in their roles.
A flaw. Did NOT need the nudity in the film.
There are good extras in this special edition. They did a good job with this.
Now, the mistakes with the DVD packages.
Although it comes with a CD this does NOT make up for these mistakes to me
1. NO chapter list
2. No printed material on the film
3. Badly designed how they input the discs inside the package
What's great about it: Acting, plot
What's not so great: DIDN'T WIN BEST PICTURE OSCAR
I would recommend this to a friend!

What took so long?

1 of if not my favorite television shows.
I still have my albums. And, I am NOT ashamed to say so.
Ok, people, WHY DID IT TAKE 3 YEARS BETWEEN 2005 WHEN SEASON 1 & 2 WERE RELEASED ON DVD TO RELEASE SEASON 3?
It was a fun show. Cast always did a great job in my opinion. I was NEVER a Brady Bunch person. A Partridge fan all the way!!
When out release day to purchase this.
So, after the 3 year wait to get this season out on DVD guess what?
NO EXTRAS!!
How about talking to the cast? How about a "Making Of" special? How about a piece on the success of the show & the music? Nope-nothing.
With only the 4th season yet to be released to DVD-how many years will that take?
Make the release of the 4th season special for fans & PUT EXTRAS in the package!!!
Rated 5 stars for the show NO THE DVD PACKAGE WITH NO EXTRAS!!
What's not so great: WHERE ARE THE EXTRAS?
I would recommend this to a friend!

Indy’s back
on October 15, 2008
Posted by: CKCSWHFFAN
from home
I was 1st in the door opening day for the first 3 Indy film.
I was unable to do this for this film.
The 1st film I waited to see since "Revenge of the Sith".
The last days of filming were done in my home town.
It is a very good film but is the least favorite of the 4 films to me.
Why? Could the audience follow these searches or understand what the heck was going on?
Some of the script was not good. How many of us got tried of Mutt & his old comments?
La Beouf did NOTHING for me.
Great to have Karen back. The script between Indy & Marion on their relationship needed work.
I think Cate did a great job in her role.
When a film starts out with the King that is good. Still trying to figure out why Elvis’s "Hound Dog" was not on the soundtrack CD. They already had to pay you know a lot of money for use of the song in the film.
Jim Broadbent, an Oscar winner, used in a TINY PART to make up for the death of Denholm Elliott & the Marcus Brody role.
SEAN SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE FILM.
The DVD package.
Man, nice but MISTAKES. 1. It is 1 of those you have to open 1 end to get the package/DVD’s out the other side. TOO MUCH WORK. 2. No chapter search list. 3. No bloopers or deleted scenes
Good extras on it. GUESS GEORGE WILL PUT THAT ON THE NEXT RELEASE OF THE FILM TO DVD. YOU KNOW GEORGE, THAT WILL BE OUT IN A YEAR OR TOO.
I am glad Indy is back despite the mistakes.
What's great about it: Very good but
What's not so great: Least fave or the 4 DVD package mistakes
I would recommend this to a friend!

Fatal Attraction, the film that scared husbands into fidelity, is faithfully brought to DVD by Paramount on a single disc loaded with special features. The disc doesn't stray from being enjoyable, beginning with the film transfer, which is presented in a widescreen format specially enhanced for 16:9 televisions. The soundtrack is remastered in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround sound, making the film's jarring rings of the telephone seem as if they're right in the viewer's living room. The disc loyally presents a bevy of the type of special features that DVD viewers love, including a commentary track by director Adrian Lyne and three featurettes that trace the making of the film, its social impact, and behind-the-scenes production highlights. Further reasons that the disc won't be a one-night stand in anyone's DVD collection include the film's original ending, rehearsal footage, and the theatrical trailer.

Lost a bit of it's spark over the years
on September 26, 2008

I remember when the film came out. Film goers were talking about it.
Of course, the memorable lines & scenes.
To me it has lost a bit of it’s edge over the passage of 21 years.
Well acted by the 3 principles.
1 THING I HAVE ALWAYS HATED ABOUT IT & STILL BOTHERS ME TODAY. What was the deal with the kid Ellen's hair? I THOUGHT IT WAS A GIRL BUT WITH THAT BOYS HAIR CUT? A boy named Ellen?
Some good extras on the DVD. Having the laser disc of the film I had already scene the “original ending” to the film.
At the height of Michael's successful film streak in the 1980’s. With the purchase of this DVD I now have the 3 roles of Glenn's I like, besides this 1 "Air Force One" & "101 Dalmatians".
‘Don’t ignore it” JUST IGNORE THE KID’S HAIR CUT.
What's great about it: Well acted
What's not so great: THAT KIDS HAIR!!!

For fans of the show

OK, needless to say you need to be a fan of the show to enjoy the film.
I liked the film, but I did NOT love it.
TOO LONG.
The part about Big & the wedding. Carrie was being Carrie & this upset him? She IS INTO the clothes, style, etc & she is being herself & he does not like it.
IN this movie Carrie has NO financial problems. Just now had written 3 books. Throughout the show we heard her max out her credit card for shoes/clothes.
They could have made Candace Bergen in her 1 brief scene look a little more done up. Made her look like an old woman working at "Vogue".
For woman THE MUCH TALKED ABOUT "FULL MONTY" MALE SCENE. If you blink you will miss that part & it is in later in the film, NOT LIKE CLIPPING SHOW IT LEADS PEOPLE TO BELIEVE IT IS.
The Miranda & Steve storyline we knew about before the film opened. Storybook ending.
Stanford & Anthony did NOT like each other in the series, what is the difference here?
Charlotte & Harry were just supporting characters in this. Hinted before the film opened she would FINALLY have a kid & does. NO SURPRISE.
The small good Charlotte moment when she gets to confront "Big" Chris Noth. NEEDED THAT TO BE LONGER.
I was totally unhappy how the Samantha & Smith storyline ended. While watching the film end you keep hoping for that storybook ending. You get disappointed.
Jennifer Hudson's character I liked, she needed to be in it longer.
A good effort but NOT as good as you would expect the film to be.
DVD package. NO chapter search list. Just an advertisement & coupon for a digital copy.
What's great about it: Could have been better but
What's not so great: Too long & some bad storyline endings

Classic film stands up 21 years later

I have always loved this film. This has not changed in the years since it was released.
I have a question for the film makers. Why did it take until 2006 until this wide screen edition of the film was available? New York City is a character in the film. Landscape shots make it so.
I waited until I got this DVD, keep watching for it to come out.
Great script. Cast perfect except for Cage. I am NOT a fan of his.
I remember years ago that Olympia had her Oscar stolen. She deserved it. Cher did as well along with the script.
1 thing I do NOT like about this edition of the film. NO chapter search list or ANY INFORMATION ON THE FILM PROVIDED INSIDE. Instead you get a recipe cards? IS THIS a cooking DVD? I do NOT think so. THOUGHT IT WAS A CLASSIC, OSCAR WINNING FILM.
What's great about it: Still love the film except for
What's not so great: Cage

Barry B. Benson (voice of Jerry Seinfeld) is your average honeybee. Despite having recently received his diploma from bee college and being virtually guaranteed a bright future in honey, Barry feels he has the skills to pursue a number of different career paths and resents the fact that his employment opportunities are strictly limited to producing the sweet nectar. Upon breaking away from the hive and developing a friendship with an insect-loving New York florist (voice of Renée Zellweger), Barry makes the shocking discovery that human beings eat honey in mass quantities. Having finally found his calling in life, the infuriated Barry decides to sue the human race for stealing all of the honey that his fellow bees work so hard to produce.

Good, NOT great film
on September 20, 2008

I did like this movie.
Kind of disappointed, thought it would be funnier.
It was a good effort by Jerry. Took him all the years between the show going off the air in May 1998 to this films release in November 2007 to have a major release of anything.
I am NOT a fan of Re'nee Zellweger's. At least you did not have to see her & that horrible hair cut she has had the past couple of years.
Jerry working again with Patrick Warburton (David Puddy). He has be doing a lot of voice work this decade, notably on "Family Guy".
Matthew Broderick not quite up to the standards of your big animated voice work, the great 1994 "The Lion King". That was a part to be remembered.
Animation is great to look at, colorful.
On the DVD itself. For such a god looking film, what was the deal with the cheap standard plain silver DVD?
And, it is the type of DVD you have to fast forward, FILM MAKERS ARE HOPING YOU WATCH BUT DO WE?) over the previews at the beginning of the DVD before you can get to the menu. I hate DVD's like this, such a pain in the neck. I RARELY watch them unless I am forced to & it does NOT make me go see a film or by the DVD of it.
NO WAY near close to Disney/Pixar films at their best.
What's great about it: Great to look at though
What's not so great: Thought it would be better

The picture on this disc is first-rate. While there are a few scratches here and there, they are brief and hardly noticeable. The disc is framed at its original aspect ratio of 1.85:1 (anamorphic). Beyond the scratches, the picture simply looks great; the colors are very vibrant and the darks are solid. The composition is great and the image quality really stands out. The sound, which includes an English 5.1 Dolby Digital track and a French mono (split over two tracks), is very good, but falls short of spectacular. The front, mainly center speakers get all the action; there is little use of the rear surround speakers other than during the opening theme music. Since the dialogue is straightforward and never becomes distorted or shrill, this is less problematic than it might have been. It's the extras that are surprising. The audio commentary track from director David Zucker, producer Robert Weiss (who on voice alone could easily be mistaken for Howard Stern), and a mysterious guest named Peter Tilden is a major plus. This has to be one of the funniest tracks ever recorded. Discussing whatever comes to mind, they cover everything from being sure they would get a PG-13 rating now to the later troubles of O.J. Simpson. They may not have a lot to say about the filmmaking process, but the track is lively and probably better than many of the commentary tracks out there. A theatrical trailer is included. Not many extras, but the commentary track makes up for the lack of additional goodies.

Best of the 3 films
on September 14, 2008

Based on the short lived "Naked Gun" TV series, this is the funniest of the 3 films.
Still 20 years later it is very funny.
Leslie is perfect doing Frank.
"Weird Al Yankovic is on the plane" just love this little cameo since I am a fan.
My favorite scene is during the baseball game when Leslie "Frank" is dress as the umpire & starts doing the calls per how the crowd reacts. I will replay that scene.
For an older DVD the extras on this are lacking.
So many memorable lines & gags.
The 1 down side to the 3 films is, now of course after history, OJ.
What's great about it: Still very funny/Weird Al
What's not so great: OJ enough said

The Kardashian sisters feel the impact of celebrity in this season, when Khloé must deal with the very public aftermath of her DUI, while Kim and Kourtney contend with sibling rivalry as their professional and personal relationships blur.

Guilty pleasure, MUCH IMPROVED OVER SEASON 2
By CKCSWHFFAN from home
Yes, the show is a guilty pleasure.
Episodes that aired in 2009. 12 episodes this season
Now, THE IMPROVEMENTS. 1. The episodes are wide screen, 2. Disc 1 has deleted scenes & 3. Disc 2 has commentary for episodes. Why not with each episode-no clue about that. But it is MUCH better than the blog from Rob on season 2.
Now, this time out apparently there are ONLY 3 Kardashians in this season. Kourtney, Kim & Khloe are only shown on both sides of the DVD case. BOTH discs have the same photo of them. So, they do NOT give credit to Kris, Bruce, Rob, Kendall & Kylie? Show is called Keeping Up With The Kardashians NOT Keeping Up With The Kardashian Sisters.
1 big mistake done again on this DVD. Same CHEAP, PLASTIC DVD CASE WITH THE INTENTIONAL HOLES IN IT. CHEAP & NOT SAFE. Apparently the DVD makers just want people to buy this over & over again since the DVD are NOT safely secure.
And, a point for anyone. There was MASS CONFUSION ABOUT THE RELEASE DATE OF THIS DVD. It was released 8-17-10. Some stores & websites changed the date until 9-21-10. THIS WAS UNTRUE. I purchased the DVD from a local store 8-18-10. So, make sure IF you want it check with the store. DO NOT GO BY PRINTED MATERIAL
