Great watch for those that don’t want a computer

I have several smart watches from several companies. I LOVE watches. Old school timepieces, cutting edge supercomputer wrist units, and all in between. This watch is the best of the “in between”. Lacking the App Store of other major brands, it focuses on improving the health metrics. And for that, it’s doing a fairly stellar job. I have several step counters, and this watch is among the most accurate. Given its large size, it’s also fairly light. I don’t feel like a gorilla swinging my arms around while wearing it. It’s slightly more complex to use, given the lack of the App Store, but it took me 20 minutes of fiddling to get the basic use of it down. Battery life is fantastic. Wore it most of the day, and it only drained 5%. The e-ink display is crisp and easy to read.
The citizen app that handles all the data from the app is super easy to use. It handles everything from watch faces to display settings and health measurments. It doesn’t re-invent the wheel, but it’s a clean program that non-techie people can easily use.
Since owning the very first Watch developed by the fruit company, over the years I’ve realized I use less and less of the “App Store” stuff and just need a good time piece that does a few basics… display messages and steps. The rest was fluff. I needed good battery life. This Watch delivers. It’s stylish, durable, and comfortable.

Perfect for gamers with a smart home.

I go through routers fairly quickly. I’ve had all the major brands, some of the “junk” brands too. They never hold up. Usually underperforming on day one. This router looks and feels different than the usual routers. This looks like a concept game console instead of a robotic spider drone. It feels sturdy. No unknown rattling sounds. Setup took literally 5 minutes. Already notice a huge difference when using my M2 iPad. Things blaze in and out. Even regular connections like smart assistant speakers react quicker and load faster. Range is good, but not as good as my old mesh network.
While only 3 of my 42 devices even utilize the 6ghz network, it’s still a great option to have. The tools for network management on the app are a breeze to use. Nothing feels like I need a Marvel Cinematic Universe scientist to operate it.
Best of all, again the looks win out. My wife likes the modern look and appreciates the lack of antennae jutting everywhere. It’s a cute little bot sitting on our media cabinet, instead of an evil drone plotting world domination.
With its impressive build quality and multi-year warranty, tp-link has muscled into the big boys’ territory. Hopefully longevity will also be a part of their business matrix and this router will give me 3 to 6 years or more of quality networking.

Fantastic camera! Excellent entry to photography

Absolutely love this camera! I’ve been a “canonphile” ever since the earliest 1.2MP Powershot in 1996. This camera continues the tradition of fantastic photographs with an intuitively designed piece of equipment. I really love the fact this camera can grow as my photography skills improve. The included lens works great as “tourist lens” but I’ve also added a 55-220mm lens and a 50mm prime lens. The versatility of the R50 just cannot be underestimated, especially as an “entry level” mirrorless camera system.
This camera is a MUST for anyone who is a content creator… be it a vlogger, instagrammer, Pinterester, etc. it’s super simple to get excellent 4k video. Colors and image detail are crisp and vibrant. It’s easy enough to use for a teenager’s video diary blog, but technical enough for a photojournalist reporting on the latest gadgets at CES. It’s a remarkable piece of kit, and really shows Canon did their homework on what creative people want in a camera they’ll use to express themselves.
As for the photos, Canon’s app makes it super quick and easy to pull images from the camera to your favorite iOS or Android device. Older cameras I’ve had would often fail because the camera would go to sleep mid transfer. I’ve taken burst pics of my dog running, capturing 20+ images, and uploading to my 12” tablet was smooth as butter. Everything just worked effortlessly.

Straight hair & no damage! Will save a marriage!

My wife has long naturally curly hair and can spend HOURS with a flat iron if we have a special event or a date night. She was both shocked and elated when I handed her the box. She had been watching social media videos on these “reverse dryers” for a few months now. Setup took only a few minutes. While she showered, I read the instructions and got it set up. Because she has really thick hair, we did just a small section at a time. It literally took about a minute to ninety seconds a section. What used to take 2 hours was done and ready to go in 20 minutes. Results were fantastic. Hair had volume and felt healthy. There was none of the usual telltale signs of heat straightening being done. The dryer is quite loud, so I wouldn’t recommend using it if people are sleeping nearby. It’s similar to a small shop vacuum with sound. The results are definitely worth it though. My wife said heat and suction never hurt. She never felt it would burn her. The process was like going to an expensive salon. For me, it was definitely worth it, saving myself hours of waiting for her to get ready to go out. The results looked spectacular.

Excellent “basics” pc for cloud gaming

At first I was confused with the words “gaming” and “Chromebook” in the same sentence. From a hardware standpoint, this wouldn’t handle very many modern games at all. However, more and more services are offering cloud gaming - letting powerful servers do the processing and streaming the game to your pc like a Netflix movie. With cloud gaming, this works beautifully. Took it to a local coffee shop with strong wifi service and it performed very well with fairly low latency and garnered attention from a few shop patrons.
It’s fairly lightweight and very fast, and would make an excellent daily use pc for a high school or college kid. Google’s suite of data processors and their cloud services make the limited onboard storage a non-issue thanks to the wifi just about every school and business in the world has today.
Again, to reiterate, this Chromebook “gaming” pc is for cloud gaming, student level data management, and media consumption. It’s almost a giant tablet with a keyboard. If you are needing something to play The Last of Us or handle a doctoral thesis with onboard computing cycles, this isn’t your computer. That said, I recommend this for parents as a gift for young adults stepping out into the world for the first time. This Chromebook plus a gift subscription to a cloud gaming service is cheaper and lighter than your average gaming rig.

Really good midrange shaver.

I’ve had electric shavers from all the major brands at many different price points, from cheap Xmas gift shavers to $300+ super recharging fancy schmancy self cleaning units. This unit is squarely in the middle. High quality, midrange shaver that does exactly what it sets out to do: give a good daily shave at an honest price point without a ton of gimmicks or over promising. The shave is comfortable, and fairly close. No razor burn, and results are acceptable for face and neck. It’s comfortable to hold and handle. Glides well. I shave the top of my head with a regular German razor for smoothness, so I don’t know how this shaver would do for that. The clean up is quick and easy. No lubricant soaks or taking the heads apart after each shave like some shavers I’ve had in the past. It’s a good brand, so I’m hoping to get a few years out of it, but from what I hear electric shavers are more of a commodity today than they were 20+ years ago. If you are requiring a daily shaver that is dependable, I think this is definitely worthy of top consideration.

A great smart charger for my smart electric car.

I own a Nissan LEAF and had a “dumb” charger installed when I bought the car. Worked great, but sucks in the winter because I had to manually start and stop the charger to take advantage of off peak hours. With this, I can program it from the app, as well as monitor all the functions from my cellphone. The network capabilities are spotty at times, but still fairly reliable. Installation was quick. My electrician removed the old “dumb” charger and installed the new one in about an hour. No big issues there, and most of the install price will be tax credited to me, so it’s a no-brainer. Charges my leaf from 0% to full in about 6hrs. The charging cable is long enough to reach all points of my carport, so it’s no longer necessary to shuffle cars to charge. Hoses and construction seem durable. This is definitely a product I’ll take with me when I move in the future. I look forward to future app updates offering more benefits as electric cars become a larger part of the market. Really is a great product and a must for EV owners.

Easier than ever to set up

I’ve upgraded my SimpliSafe system several times, and have put SimpliSafe systems in other properties I own, and it’s now a fantastically simple system to install and operate. Even my 65 yr old mother can work the keypad and the app with ease. This system comes with almost everything you could want or need. The one glaring exception is no solar charger for the external camera. Easily rectified by purchasing a third party usb panel (SimpliSafe branded panel is too pricy imho). Setup is easy. Only screws needed are for the external camera. Everything else mounts with sticky tape. Setup now is literally done with a single tap of a button on each device being added to system. No more remembering serial numbers or running back and forth to the keypad. My only complaint is their algorithm for pets needs fine tuning. It’s still too sensitive for mobile pets like cats. Wish there was a collar dongle that SimpliSafe could use to help recognize a pet. Other than that, it’s the best home security system I’ve ever had, and I strongly recommend it to anyone wishing to make their home more of a hassle to burglars than the neighbors’.

Interesting camera technology. Decent quality pics

Never had nor heard of ptz cameras before. Got this a day before I got a new puppy, and this has been a godsend. Now I can join the family in playing with our new family member and still have memories to look back on. The tracking and stabilization are excellent. The puppy can zoom around and the camera does a pretty decent job of keeping up. Picture quality is what you’d expect from a canon powershot. It won’t win photography awards, but it definitely works for catching memories. I’m really looking forward to putting this camera through its paces over the next few weeks at holiday family gatherings. I’m usually the dedicated family photographer but now I’ll get to interact more. It’s cute enough to be a Disney era Starwars droid too. It makes adorable boop boop sounds at startup that kids love. Battery life is more than adequate, and it charges up at an acceptable rate. Interesting side note about this product are the accessories. This is the first canon product I’ve ever had that didn’t come with canon branded accessories. The included charger is Ankor and the miniSD is sandisk. Both excellent brands, but I’m shocked they went 3rd party. Overall, it’s a great product for the social butterfly to make memories. I highly recommend it.

Great protection for your phone screen.

First off, let me toss out the myth that phones. Where I work, people come in daily with the latest “scratch resistant” phones with shattered screens. The best sapphire monkey glass still shatters. I’ve used tempered glass screens and they’ve shattered or fractured many times but the screen underneath is pristine. This screen works like all the others out there as far as protection goes, but it also has the added benefit of diffusing ambient lighting so you don’t have bad glare. Works pretty good. Doesn’t negate sunlight, but typical office lighting and store lights should be taken care of. It’s a pretty good value for the money, especially compared to brand named protectors that go for half a Franklin. Overall, it’s a pretty good deal. I’m out of review, so now I’ll talk about packaging and other stuff to meet the minimums… packaging was excellent. Explained the product well and the instructions were in English unlike those found at dollar value stores. Adhesive was sticky and no air bubbles lingered. Get it.

Are you able to put your eye prescription on the frames?
Yes. The lenses are plain Jane, run of the mill polarized lenses. These are regular Raybans, so they accept prescriptions… however, talk with your eyeware specialist to see if they’ll do the custom lenses needed. Not all places accept outside frames, and many more are unsure about messing with tech glasses frames.

Is the scroll button easy to press on this?
I have had no issues with it. I find it smooth and intuitive with it’s design and feel. Every person will have their own experience, but I think overall it’s going to please far more people than it will irk. It’s a nice mouse. I’ve had dozens of gaming mice, and so far, this has been my favorite.

Any Mark II can be updated. The original M6 I will not get the upgrade, I believe.

Several websites post custom calibrations for the TV that look far better than presets. I recommend those. Presets look quite harsh.
