This is a nicely made unit. This works great as a replacement charger for the cheaply made included chargers that come with many EV brands. It’s also a good “back up” charger if you have one of the super fancy app driven chargers. Build quality is a lot better than the cable that came with my EV, as well as the discount charger that is a top seller on the internet. The cable that connects the j-socket to the charger feels strong and durable. Doesn’t feel like it will degrade quickly. This charger feels like it will last many years and many charging cycles. The cable that came with my EV started to show wear and tear after a few months, forcing me to look for a quality charger elsewhere. I’ve since had a Level 2 plug installed at my home for dedicated car charging, and keep my Level 1 charger for tapping electricity at work or extended shopping trips. It’s definitely worth having as a charger to keep in the car for moments when you find yourself with access to a nearby wall outlet but not a dedicated EV parking spot.
Overall, I highly recommend this Level 1 charger. It works fine for charging your car while you are at work for 8 to 10 hours or overnight.

Great build quality, feels durable.

This is a nicely made charging unit. While access to NEMA 15-50 plugs is rare, they aren’t too expensive to add. My electrician charged $400 to dedicate a breaker and run a separate line for the 240 plug. This works great as a charger. It’s a good “back up” charger if you have one of the super fancy app driven chargers. Build quality is a lot better than the cable that came with my EV, as well as the discount charger that is a top seller on the internet. This charger feels like it will last many years and many charging cycles. It’s definitely worth having as a charger to keep in the car when visiting friends/family who hopefully won’t have an issue with you unplugging their 240v oven or dryer to charge your car for a few hours.
Overall, I highly recommend having a Level 2 charger or two. It’s a tremendously useful timesaver for keeping a charge and having your EV ready for adventures throughout the day. Level 1 works fine for charging your car while you are at work for 8 to 10 hours or overnight.

The best soundbar I’ve ever heard. Period…but…

Now, complete transparency up front… I am using this Bose soundbar on a bedroom tv. It’s not my main source of entertainment. With that said, I’m very impressed overall with this soundbar and the ease of setting up. Using an included microphone-laden tiara and the app, the setup took literally less than 10 minutes. Once set up, I played a few of my go-to demo movies for Atmos. Even though it’s a soundbar and requires the sound waves to bounce the sound, this soundbar does a convincing approximation of Atmos. You can ALMOST hear separation in the channels. Soundbar technology has come a long way! That said, I ordered the optional surround speakers and a bass module to get the full effect. When those pieces get delivered, I expect my enjoyment of the Bose Ultra to improve considerably. The soundbar has some of the best low frequency audio I’ve ever heard in the category, but still has a noticeable drop off point. For instance, watching Jurassic Park’s t-rex rain scene one expects to feel the footfalls of the rex, and the vibration of its roar. Without a subwoofer, the rex sounds like it’s floating. You don’t get the immersion of an impact. The roar doesn’t ring in your chest. So I highly recommend picking up a base module.
The surround effects are pretty good. It does a satisfying job of wrapping you in an audio bubble, but I like a lot of shooting and action. Movies like John Wick and Starwars. With major effects like car driving or space ship battles, the Atmos sound is perfectly fine. However, with more spatially pointed sounds such as bullets or laser fire, the virtual surround sounds “boomerangy”. I’m hoping having physical surrounds will help mend that slight discomfort.
Dialog is CRYSTAL CLEAR! Disturbingly so! Bose really has dialed in its technology for clarifying conversations. I was able to turn off closed captioning and follow conversations in typical Hollywood fare.
So in summary, I really am impressed with the Bose Ultra. It’s a huge step forward in audio processing by the wizards at Bose. I truly look forward to adding a few accessories to complete the experience.

Awesome computer! Powers thru all games and apps

Let me preface this review with an admission. The last Acer I bought was in 2003 and was an entry-level laptop that felt like it was made of recycled shampoo bottles. It lasted 6 months. This computer feels nothing like that. This has a quality feel to it, and plays every game I’ve thrown at it in ultra quality. Games I’ve tried so far include Balder’s Gate 3, Cyberpunk, Spiderman, Farcry 6, street fighter V, and God of War. All ran flawlessly at maximum settings with Ray Tracing on where applicable. It’ll be hard to ever boot up my Xbox or ps5 again. Computer got warm, so I’d recommend a lap fan or lap desk. Fans are insanely loud when they kick in. Like sitting by a home Air Conditioner vent loud. Thankfully they don’t come on as often as other laptops I’ve had.
Upgradability is easy with this. A few T6 screws and a slight pop of the panel and I was able to quickly futureproof upgrade the computer with a 2nd SSD for gaming and 32GB of ram. The included 16gb are more than enough for 99.999999999% of users. Everything on this computer is quality. I highly recommend picking up this computer if you want a great gaming pc that doesn’t look gawdy. It has just enough bling to excite the kid inside you, but still look good in an office environment.

Zippy fun commuter for this fat old man!

I’m not a student, or surviving the “urban jungle”… I’m a fat (200lb 5’6) old man that just enjoys being outdoors but age and weigh have gotten to my knees and long walks downtown aren’t as relaxing as they used to be. This scooter is a fun way of zipping around downtown without having to find a new parking spot every couple of minutes as I peruse shops and cafes. It’s easy to secure to an available bike rack or sign for a few minutes while I place my order then I’m back to zipping along. It’s a tad heavier than I expected, but the quality is unbelievable. This is definitely NOT to be confused with a toy. There is real power in the motor. This puts the city’s rental scooters to shame. It’s fun shooting past a couple of teens and leaving them in the dust when they think you are just an old guy trying to be hip. Charging time is a few hours, so plan trips accordingly. Don’t want to be stuck without power for 5 or 6 hours. Instructions are entertaining. Full of bad English common of overseas products.
Definitely pick up a solid helmet. This has a ton of power to it and WILL throw you if not careful. Don’t become a statistic. Plenty of safety features on this scooter to help vehicles and pedestrians notice you, but definitely gear up before any trip.

Great MFP for a small office/home office.

This is my first laser printer. I’ve always had inkjet printers, and had been conditioned to wait for ink to dry, the long printing time, and the dried out print head after a few days of nothing to print. Getting this laser printer has been eye opening! First, it’s HEAVY! At 30lbs, it’s a chonky boy! It’s not the flimsy throw away printer that you see on the back to school sales. Setup was the easiest I’ve ever had with a peripheral. I unboxed it, removed tape, plugged in, put my wifi password and the printer did everything else. All my devices recognized the printer on my network instantly. Scanning is crystal clear. Every detail meticulously captured (so make sure no dog hair gets on the screen!). Printing is where this bad boy shines. You have all the options of your local printshop in one tiny footprint. Easy double-sided printing, resizing, and more. Printing color graphics in greyscale is no issue either, for the printer converts the image perfectly so you still get a great image instead of a large black smudge. This is the first time I’ve been genuinely impressed with an office appliance to this level. The paper tray is roomy, so you’ll have plenty of room if you need to feed invoices or print payroll, but it’s also simple enough that kids can print their book reports and science project sheets and not worry.
Really my only “concern” is for the small touch screen, being that I have very fat sausages for fingers, and the touch screen is the size of old flip phone screens. You gotta be careful. Other than that, this printer is top shelf quality!

Sets up in minutes and fantastic quality!

Got this to replace my version 1 indoor camera. Sets up in minutes. Literally just had the app look for a new camera and poof! It was installed and properly calibrated for its position. I have several pets that have free roam of the house, and unfortunately, this camera STILL gets triggered easily by pets, regardless of how I aim the camera. Because of that, I have the camera notify my wife and I first, then we can look at the footage and determine if 911 is warranted or not. 99.999% we just see the cats being mischievous.
Overall, I’m pleased with the improved clarity of the video. It definitely looks better than their previous camera, but I’m not sure if it really warrants a “must upgrade”. Face details come out crystal clear, so you’ll know identifying characteristics of whoever is in your house unwelcome.
The white color definitely helps it blend better on the ceiling or corner wall. Thankfully, they still have the privacy(security shield over the lens to prevent unknown security operators from being voyeurs.

Had it under 24hr and saved me $$$!

First drive with this installed and was taking it for a spin, when it started beeping. I looked everywhere, and didn’t see any cops. Slowed down to the speed limit just in case, and a car behind me shot past at 90+ mph. Ahead of me, in between some shade trees and a billboard, was a motorcycle highway patrol waiting to add to his quota. Had I not slowed, it would have been me gettin a ticket instead of the preppy in the Tesla. Ha! The Android app is decent. It’s not the greatest app but from what I’ve read it’s come a long way. My app randomly disconnects from the radar detector, but the reconnect is fairly quick. I really haven’t seen anything that raises a red flag.
I looked at recordings transferred from the unit to my phone. The QHD video is fairly sharp. It’s a step above the grainy “FHD” video used in the $70 dash cams but still requires you to get close t read li scenes plates. Supposedly the night video is sharper, but I haven’t tested that yet.
My biggest concern is finding another magic mount for my other vehicle. I went to 3 bestbuys looking for a second Mount and no one has them. I don’t want to buy a 2nd radar detector just for a 2nd mount. Really wish companies packed accessory catalogs with their products like they used to.

Perfect for the new computer I’m building!

Just bought the latest MSI motherboard and a 4090 graphics card and the latest gen Intell chip for a new desktop gaming pc. Long story short, the m.2 ssd was the last .. crucial… piece I needed! Got it all assembled and running. This SSD is wickedly fast with games and start up. With my older PCs, load screens were typically 10 to 18 seconds. This loads games typically under 8 seconds. With regular Windows apps and such, the speeds aren’t noticeably faster. Still, it’s a godsend if you regularly process large files such as video files or RAW photos. It was noticeable when compiling 4k video shot on my Canon R50 and edited in Adobe Premiere. You can easily find benchmark times on YouTube for all you tech geeks, but for the average working Joe out there, just know that it’s a good improvement for hardcore uses, but not a huge improvement for small daily tasks. There is a bit of a bottleneck on random accessed memory tasks, but otherwise it’s been awesome having a computer with the most cutting edge tech currently available. The next few years will be exciting!

Great casual use/student use laptop

This is a great small footprint laptop. It’s small, lightweight, and fully competent for average daily use of email, media consumption, and very light gaming. Great for older teens/twenties for a schoolwork machine. It’s light enough to slip in a sleeve and toss in a backpack.
Touch screen is snappy and responsive. Colors are crisp, and the Snapdragon processor runs pretty fast and it doesn’t feel too hot after extended use. Keyboard is fairly small, so it might be a tad uncomfortable for adults with huge hands and “sausage fingers”.
My wife played around with it and she loves the small size and weight. It’s perfect for coffee house travel laptop or something to use on the couch. Taking the laptop out and using it at a coffee house is comfortable and it fits well on a small table and doesn’t impede conversation. It’s very quiet. It’s not a giant beast like our 17” gaming laptop.
Windows 11 works seamlessly. It has enough power to handle just about any daily task you can throw at it. Is just a really nice cohesive package.

Are you able to put your eye prescription on the frames?
Yes. The lenses are plain Jane, run of the mill polarized lenses. These are regular Raybans, so they accept prescriptions… however, talk with your eyeware specialist to see if they’ll do the custom lenses needed. Not all places accept outside frames, and many more are unsure about messing with tech glasses frames.

Is the scroll button easy to press on this?
I have had no issues with it. I find it smooth and intuitive with it’s design and feel. Every person will have their own experience, but I think overall it’s going to please far more people than it will irk. It’s a nice mouse. I’ve had dozens of gaming mice, and so far, this has been my favorite.

Any Mark II can be updated. The original M6 I will not get the upgrade, I believe.

Several websites post custom calibrations for the TV that look far better than presets. I recommend those. Presets look quite harsh.
