I’ve wanted this computer since 1996….

I was in high school when Alienware brand was revealed to the world. The designs, the “nerdy logo” and all the promises an Alienware pc offered was almost more than my 17 year old, original PlayStation owning mind could comprehend… then I saw the prices, and it was like a derrière probe… but Alienware was always a lofty dream of mine to own. For years I would watch CES coverage of the latest Alienware PCs then go to the store and buy the entry level integrated processor PC aimed at accountants or parents of elementary school kids. Finally started getting gaming PCs in the 2010’s and enjoying games I’ve only read about but never saw on the consoles. But those again were entry level PCs with cards that could play games at medium settings, and MAYBE the top AAA games on low. Finally, 26 years after seeing the first coverage of Alienware in PC gaming magazines, I FINALLY own an Alienware laptop, and I have to be 100% honest… it was worth every minute of wait. Everything about this laptop feels like the gamers’ version of a Jordans shoe or a Porsche Carrera. The premium feel and sporty performance exude a quality chemistry that just makes you want to game more, to challenge the system with a more demanding game.
I’ve owned this for just under a week at the time of this review, but already have an extra 1TB SSD added and have loaded a few dozen games I’ve amassed from Steam, GOG, and Epic sales over the last decade… and I’ve yet to find a game it can’t play at a bare minimum of 60 fps at ultra settings. Everything runs buttery smooth and the system redirects the scorching heat away from you so you end up gaming for 4 hours instead of the planned 30 minutes of free time. Keyboard is bright and insanely responsive with a satisfying click. This also has a nice, sturdy weight to it so it doesn’t slide whenever you bump the desk or shift your weight. Overall, this is everything I’d hoped to experience. The Ryzen chip, nvidia 3070ti, and custom Alienware management software all blend seamlessly to just make gaming feel premium again, and not just the status quo. I’m enjoying looking at the differences between this laptop and my Xbox series X and PS5. Both consoles are amazing architecture and perform admirably for their price point, but this is like driving an Aston Martin Valhalla past your dad in his Tesla.
This just feels good.

This is a very impressive game pad. I’ve used it now for about a week with my Xbox series X as well as my gaming laptop with windows and Steam games. It works beautifully. Feels solid and responsive. Completely blows the standard $70 controller out of the water where precision is concerned. Comes with a nice sturdy case to protect it during travels.
This is really a great alternative to the slightly pricier Elite controller. I really like the programmable buttons on the back for PC MMORPGS. Overall, just a really solid performing piece of tech. My only complaint is the requirement of the cord. Really wish this was wireless for casual gaming and wired for professionals. Other than that, I really have no complaints. Buttons have a nice crisp click to their movement, joysticks move smoothly, and it feels perfect in the hand. The D pad has good diagonal movement, so playing fighting games like Dragonball, Mortal Kombat, etc feel responsive and tight. Even games requiring precision aiming like Halo or Call of Duty will benefit from the tweaked controls. Definitely a required controller for anyone above casual gamers.

My 5 year old nephew LOVES this! (Adults too!)

I got this primarily for my nephew who just turned 5. He’s at the age where he’s obsessed with superheroes and as soon as he saw this, he thought he had his very own Batmobile! A few Batman stickers later, and he was zooming about the neighborhood in his Batman pajamas on his very own batmobile! Assembly was fairly straightforward and took little time. Needed a few hours to charge, and once it was fully charged it’s ready to zip! It’s perfectly sized for small children but even adults can scrunch themselves on it. Gives you the feeling of Mario Kart as you zip around the cul de sac. I’m certain he’ll get many years of enjoyment from this as he grows and it transitions from a go cart to a hoverboard. I’m not sure how easy replacement batteries are to find, but I’m sure there are options out there.
Overall, this is an extremely affordable vehicle for that bundle of energy in your life. Just make sure safety is addressed and get a helmet and pads. 7 mph may not sound like it’s very fast, but it’s enough to cause a good scraped elbow or bruise if the kiddo takes a curb wrong.
Very good construction and materials, charge lasts longer than the average kids’ attention spans, and adults can even use it while the kids are down for naps! Highly recommended!

Great updated truly smart “Smart Thermostat”. Had an older Smart thermostat model that frequently dropped wifi, would demand new filters 5 minutes after changing the filter, and other inconveniences. This installed in 9 minutes, and looks sleek and modern. My old thermostat looked like a calculator taped to the wall. My family says the Ecobee looks like Eve from WallE. I think it looks like an AppleWatch stuck to the wall. Anyway, enough about its sleek looks. This thing is super intuitive to use, the app is clean and no-filler, and it recognizes Google Home quickly and stays connected. My only gripe is Apple’s HomeKit refuses to acknowledge it’s a compatible device, despite it having HomeKit built in. I tried every reboot, reset, and troubleshooting guide I can find and nothing. Maybe the device is still too new? Oh well, it works with google, which is what the majority of my home is connected with, so I’m good for now.
Did I mention how great it looks? Very simple, easy to read display and just looks amazing. Definitely going to recommend this to friends and family. The days of ugly thermostats are gone!

Better connections and range than my old Velop.

Had the Velop mesh network from several years ago, and two of the three pillars basically stopped working after 5 years. My range was severely affected. Got these cute buggers and My wifi connects better than ever. I have a range that covers from my street to the park behind my house… easily a couple hundred feet in all directions. Also of note is that I can have a dozen devices going at once with no noticeable slowdown. I can stream a YouTube video while playing Xbox online while my wife surfs the internet on her iPhone…. No slowdown. I currently have 40 devices on my wifi and no issues. No bottlenecking or drops.
My wife prefers these due to the better design. These look like smoke detectors. It’s easy to hide them on a shelf or behind a tv, especially compared to the tower modules of competitors. Because they have a wider footprint, these are less likely to get knocked over by a cat or fall during an earthquake as well.
Overall, definitely a fantastic mesh system. The app took seconds to launch, the devices set up in less that 15 minutes and it all worked seamlessly. I really couldn’t have asked for a better install. No need for professionals costing $$$ to install. Literally all you need is a cellphone, eyes, and fingers.

Great turntable, mediocre bright speakers.

Put this system through two days of heavy listening to all genres of music, and have a torn view on the system. The turntable is fantastic. 5/5. Quiet, great playback, decent quality arm. The M1 speakers are below average at best. 2.5-3/5. The Bluetooth on them drops constantly, and the sound is very harsh and way too bright. An example would be listening to Celine Dion. Her voice has range and resonates on a good pair of speakers. On the M1s, her voice sounds more shrill and flat. A side-by-side comparison between the M1 and a similarly sized Kef hooked up to a 45W parasound Zamp 3 and the Kef blows them out of the water. So noticeable that even my wife could tell the difference, and told me she didn’t want the M1s even for a guest room sound system.
We hooked the turntable up to our main living room B&W tower system and it sounds beautiful. Just a smooth like butter sound. Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” has a warm, wide soundstage. The Beatles’ “Sgt Pepper” was a cacophony of sound, and the audio was rich and clear. Definitely proves the speakers were holding this system back.
As a set, this is a decent value for a start into hifi. I highly recommend upgrading the speakers as soon as you can, because it opens up the sound of this fantastic record player. It’s a night and day difference. The M1’s really need more design time. They do a disservice to their turntable.
Hope this helps. Really wish I could review the components separately.

This is a very nice alternative for a Fitbit. Could definitely use more free apps. I understand it’s a device for Amazon to collect data and recommend products, but too much is hidden behind the paywall. That said, the $3 monthly membership does give you access to a plethora of health advice and info. This would make a great affordable gift for someone who had a healthier habits new year resolution.
My biggest gripe about this product is it isn’t accurate as a step counter. Typing at my desk for two hours, it added 127 steps. It’s not a game changer, but I’d hope the motion tracker would be better on a device by Amazon. Oh well. It’s lightweight, has a ton of accessories available, and the display is fairly bright.

Wore the over the past 5 days, and I have mixed emotions about them. Without going into obvious territory of the issue of spying or anything illegal, I’m not really sure of the value of these. Build quality is superb. Absolutely looks and feels like a premium Rayban product. It’s the tech I’m not sold on. I have several pairs of sunglasses/speakers. The Ray-bans are middle of the road for audio quality. The touch/slide controls are nice. For phone calls, the sound comes across as distant, which makes it tough to hear in noisier outdoor environments. Not the worst, but I expect more when Luxxotica and Facebook brainstorm a product.
Now for photo/video mode. This is where I’m most disappointed. Photos require holding down the shutter button for a few seconds, meaning you can’t use these at a child’s sporting event or spur of the moment photos. Being a member of the human race in 2022, I usually have my iPhone in hand, so it’s honestly quicker to switch the camera on the phone and get a burst of photos rather than MAYBE one photo. Taking photos while walking is very hit or miss. Lot of focus issues during movement. The Stories is obviously meant more for staged photographs rather than capturing moments. Video capture was fine, and looks good on streaming playback, but I rarely find the need to capture spur of the moment video. The average smartphone will have a much better set of tools than these glasses, many with 4k HDR video.
So far, the best use I’ve had for them is capturing “reminders”. While wandering a series of stores, I can snap a pic of things I’m Interested in buying later, along with their current price. That’s so far been the best use outside of reducing solar glare.
These are very stylish sunglasses, very comfortable and light. The added quirks still need some work, but I can definitely see future editions of the product building on the core ideas. Ray-Ban & Zuckerberg put out a video detailing future plans with augmented reality, streaming social media, etc in future glasses, and I can totally see these heading that direction, but this is firmly stuck in the “missing link” territory between old regular glasses and futuristic headwear displays.
Useful if you are a teenager or 20-something that HAS to capture every waking moment on her blog, but it’s an easy pass for the average Joe. I’ll definitely use these as sunglasses, but probably won’t charge them once the battery goes out.

Ordered these, expecting grey lenses in a matte frame… what arrives? Iridium red-looking lenses in a piano-black glossy frame! Very chic! Synced to my phone without even needing instructions. Glasses arrived with a full charge. Put them on and went out to finish my Xmas shopping. Was out for two hours with my music drowning out the stores’ background music. Got back home, popped the magnetic chargers on the glasses, and now I’m ready to go again!
These are some seriously sweet eyewear! No pressure on the nose or at the temples. These feel like $$$ fitted frames. Audio quality is quite good. Similar to headphones in the $60-$90 price range. No bass to brag about, but really clean midrange. Highs are a tad tin sounding. These honestly aren’t bad, especially if you are using them to provide background music or a podcast while running errands or working out. For a brand new company, these are a valiant first product, and I look forward to them having a long life and even better products in the future!

These ear pod style headphones are actually pretty good. They utilize the latest Bluetooth format to allow high bandwidth playback of HD audio sources. Playback is crisp and clean. The multiple options for ear gummies means you’ll find the size that fits right and comfortable. I’ve had zero pop-outs with mine. These earbuds even have a “Find my” compatibility with the iPhone app, meaning you’ll never lose them as long as there is a hint of a charge. That is a game winner for me, as I’m always accidentally dropping a headphone behind a dresser or rolls off a shelf…. Anyway, as usual, Belkin makes a top tier product for a very affordable price. Highly recommend.

Are you able to put your eye prescription on the frames?
Yes. The lenses are plain Jane, run of the mill polarized lenses. These are regular Raybans, so they accept prescriptions… however, talk with your eyeware specialist to see if they’ll do the custom lenses needed. Not all places accept outside frames, and many more are unsure about messing with tech glasses frames.

Is the scroll button easy to press on this?
I have had no issues with it. I find it smooth and intuitive with it’s design and feel. Every person will have their own experience, but I think overall it’s going to please far more people than it will irk. It’s a nice mouse. I’ve had dozens of gaming mice, and so far, this has been my favorite.

Any Mark II can be updated. The original M6 I will not get the upgrade, I believe.
