Nice product. Quiet and powerful.

I've been using the HyperVolt GO massager for a while, and I love it. The massager is compact, well built, and super quiet; even on the highest speed, it's practically silent. The massager has two heads that are easily interchanged so you can work on large or small muscles. I have been using it after workouts to help relax the muscle groups I worked and the effects are extremely noticeable. After using, the massaged muscles are much more relaxed and aren't as sore later in the day. I've also been using the device everyday on my lower back, shoulders, and hamstrings since I sit most of the day for work which causes those muscles groups to tighten during the day. The results on those areas alone would be enough for me to recommend this massager. There is an app, but unfortunately it's only available for iOS devices, so I can't install it. I would hope that an Android version is in the pipeline and will soon be available. Overall, this massager is a very nice product, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone needing to relax tight muscles.

Neat idea

These lights are a nice way to add ambient lighting to wall in the form of functional art. This kit contains five mini-triangles that can be connected to each other in various designs, although the number of possible designs are limited since there are only five panels. Connecting the panels together and adding the power adapter and controller is very easy. The lights are controlled by an app, which is easy to install and fairly easy to pair with the lights and connect to WiFi. I have had a few problems with the app where it fails to 'find' the lights, but closing and reopening the app has usually fixed this issue. On one occasion however, I had to remove the lights from the app and re-pair them.
I connected the panels in a simple design and placed them on the wall near the desk in my office. The lights give off enough light to illuminate the area near my desk if I want, but there's not enough light to really illuminate the entire office. Additional kits can be purchased to increase the number of possible designs as well as the amount of light given, but for now, I'm fine with what was in the box. The app allows you to control the color, hue, and brightness of the lights, and it also allows you to select pre-set color pallets. You can also set the lights to respond to sound and/or touch, which is a fairly cool capability. I sometimes listen to music while working so I set the lights to a pre-set pallet that responded to sound. Although the 'dancing' lights were a bit of a distraction in my particular instance, in the right scenario I think they would be great.
Overall, I think these lights are a nice addition if you're looking for something to put on a wall that adds light and a touch of art. The amount of light given is good, but if you need more light, additional panels can be added easily. The only issue I've had so far is with the app, but hopefully that will be ironed out in time.

The PureTV Pro 60 is the only antenna with an actual signal meter integrated into the antenna to provide the best possible customer experience when installing. The PureTV Pro 60 has a dual-band, optimized antenna element that captures signals up to 60 miles away, while the antenna’s Clear Circuit Technology boosts the available signal, cuts dropout, and clears pixelation. The integrated, Bluetooth technology signal meter makes you the pro at installation. The PureTV Pro 60 uses a built-in tuner to get real-time signal data. Pair with the Winegard Connected app for no-fuss antenna positioning. Available for iOS and Android phones, the free, user-friendly Winegard Connected app quickly pairs with the PureTV Pro 60. Using both visual and audio indicators, you’ll get real-time feedback on the optimal antenna position for the best signal possible. The app shows a summary of available channels, and you can even fine-tune individual channels for maximum reception. Once you’re done, run a channel scan on TV, and start watching FREE TV.

Nice antennae, useful app
on December 18, 2020
Posted by: Chuck

This smart antennae works quite well, but the app sometimes experiences trouble connecting to it. Overall, the antennae is simple to hook up, and the coax cable was more than long enough for me to test signal reception at various places around the room. As far as size goes, the antennae is a bit thicker than high quality printer paper, and it's footprint is about 50% larger than the same printer paper, so it's not overly noticeable. Installing the app was simple, but I have had some trouble connecting the app to the antennae. I originally tried to power the antennae using the USB port on my TV, but when I tired this, the connection process on the app always failed. Using the USB wall power adapter fixed this problem for the most part, but I still have to occasionally cut the power to the antennae and then reconnect it if I want to get the app to connect. Once connected, the app does a good job of showing signal strengths of the various stations it finds, as well as showing the mapped location of each station along with a listing of station info (network, call sign, and channel), so it's fairly easy to find a location for the antennae that will give you the best reception. One additional feature of the app that I found useful was the ability to fine tune a single station.
Overall, I think this antennae is a winner; it allows me to watch 23 stations, most of which are around 50 miles away, and I'm in a fairly rural mountainous area.

Great product, app needs work

This smart plug works well, and it appears to be fairly weather resistant. I placed this on my screened in porch to control string lights, so it's not in direct weather, but it still gets some rain, and so far it it's working fine. Setup was fairly simple, and the app allows you almost limitless control over when you want the plug on or off. However the app isn't very intuitive, and I've experienced some bugs on one of my phones; it freezes sometimes when I attempt to edit a schedule for the plug, and I have to manually close and reopen the app and then retry the edit. Other than that one annoyance, the plug and app work great, and it's nice to be able to control the porch lighting from anywhere.

Awesome product

This wireless charger is great! I had been waiting to try one of these, and I'm glad I finally got the chance. I usually charge my phone at night, so I replaced my usual charger with this charging pad, and it's so much more convienient. Instead of fumbling for the old cord and plugging it in, I can just place the phone on the pad and I'm done. It also makes grabbing the phone in the middle of the night to check something much easier, since there's no cord to worry about. There's a small LED light that let's you know the phone is positioned correctly, and there are 3 rubber grippers that securely hold the phone on the pad. This thing awesome.

Nice printer with alot of functionality, but...
on November 3, 2020
Posted by: Chuck
from DC
I've been using this printer for a few weeks and although I like it, I've experienced a few things that are a bit annoying. The printer provides plenty of functionality, and it's not too big, and even though it's a bit larger than my previous printer, it's still small enough for my small home office. Setup was simple, as was the installation of the software package. The touch-pad is much larger than my previous printer and so the icons are easier to read, making the operation of the UI much easier. Printed colors are vibrant and true to what you see on the screen, and for the most part, the printer does live up to the ppm estimates given in the documentation. However one thing I've experienced is when printing documents that are over 30 pages, sometimes a job will pause repeatedly for 5 secs or so during printing. This almost seems like a buffering problem, but I haven't had time to contact support.... it could be normal. I've also had multple times where the printer has warned that I'm out of paper even though the tray is practically full, and when I simply tap and select the same type of paper I'm printing with, the jobs starts, and completes, with no problem. I have no idea what's causing this, but again, I haven't had time to contact support. Both of these issues only occur occasionally, but it is annoying when they happen. For the most part, the printer works well and I'm happy with it.

Great little laptop, but no backlit keyboard...
on October 29, 2020
Posted by: Chuck
from DC
I've had this laptop for a little less than a week, and for the most part it's a great little machine; it's small, powerful, and extremely portable.
Just out of the box, the laptop looks and feels great. It has a very smooth, sleek design, and the metallic case makes the laptop feel well built and quite substantial. Closed, it's about the size of a tablet and since it weighs only about 2.5 lbs, it's easy to take it anywhere. One of the things I immediately liked was the ability to easily open the lid; I've had a few other small laptops that were almost like trying to pry open a clam. This laptop is a little hard to open if you're holding it, but if it's on a table, the lid opens quite easily, although it would still be nice to have a small tab/bump on the edge of the lid. The screen has good brightness, but I was using it outside on my deck, and the combination of the sun with the glass screen made it hard to view the screen clearly, so I had to move to an area with more shade. The other big thing I liked about the laptop is that the keyboard, although small, doesn't feel cramped. I have big hands, but there's plenty of room to rest my wrists and type comfortably. That said, I was kind of shocked to find that the keyboard isn't backlit. I actually sent an email to Microsoft asking why it wasn't backlit, but as of yet I haven't received an answer. It could be they were trying to save on costs, but I really can't see that being a huge cost saver. To me, a non-lit keyboard is just odd. As far a processing power goes, the laptop has easily handled everything I need to run. As with any small laptop, USB ports are few and far between, but this one has 1 USB 3.0 port and 1 USB-C port, which should be plenty.
All in all, this is a great little laptop. It's very portable and packs enough power for about anything you'd probably need to do... plus it looks nice. If it had a backlit keyboard, I'd give it 5 stars, but as it is I'm giving it 4.

Compact with incredible night vision
on October 14, 2020
Posted by: Chuck
from DC
These cameras are very nice. I already have four Eufy cameras, and they're great as well, so when I got the chance to test these, I had to take it. These cameras are very compact and have built in AI that allows them to be set to trigger only on human detection. You can set the cameras to trigger on any movement, or only trigger on human detection during the day yet still trigger on any movement at night. It would be nice to have a setting that would only trigger on human detection, period; I have alot of animal around the house, especially at night which results in my phone being alerted at any hour. Not a huge problem, but I always want to know when movement is detected, so it would be nice to filter out animals, even at night.
Settings up the cameras was very fast. I already have a base-station, so adding both cameras took less than 5 minutes. I placed both of the cameras outside and the one thing that really stood out was the night vision; it's incredible. The cameras have onboard lights, but I've found that I get better clarity without the light activated.
I really like these cameras. They're much smaller than the other ones I have, and as I said, their night vision is stellar. I would recommend these without hesitation.

Great LED RBG bulbs
on October 1, 2020
Posted by: Chuck
from DC
The Hampton Peace RGB LED 4-pack is a relatively inexpensive option if you're in the market for true RGB bulbs that can be controlled via WiFi. One of the nice things about these bulbs is that are standalone, meaning they don't require a hub; they each connect directly to your WiFi, and you control them individually (or as a group) with an app. The bulbs also seem brighter than 800 lumen; I replaced two 1100 lumen 5000k bulbs, and these RGB bulbs set on full brightness at full white easily seem as bright as the 1100 lumen bulbs.
Overall, the set up was fairly simple; install the app, screw the bulb into a fixture, turn it on, and begin the process of using the app to add the light to your account. One thing that wasn't apparent to me initially was that I had to set up a 'home' so that I could add lights. Once the lights are added to your account, there's a firmware check/update that takes place for each bulb. I did experience an issue with one of the bulbs where the firmware update occurred while I was adding it to my account. The firmware update succeeded, but it caused the initialization of that bulb to fail, so I had to reset the bulb and start over. Not a big deal, but that shouldn't happen; the firmware update should be held until the bulb is added to the account. Once all of the bulbs were added, I started playing around with the app. The app allows full control over the bulbs, but it could use a bit of polishing. For instance, I was trying to create a group. I tried everything I could think of, but nothing worked... i discovered that I could delete multiple lights, but I couldn't use the same process to just group the lights. I finally had to break down and look it up; It turns out that groups are possible, but creating them is a bit more cumbersome. I have all of these bulbs in my den, and I have the 4 lights set up in 3 groups. One group controls 2 lights near the TV, one group controls 2 lights near the door, and one group controls all 4 lights. Each bulb or group can be controlled in a myriad of ways (color, brightness, timer), and so far the lights have worked flawlessly.
I'm quite pleased with these bulbs and will probably buy additional ones for other rooms, so I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Cleans so well, the carpet looked massaged
on September 19, 2020
Posted by: Chuck
from DC
The iRobot Roomba i3+ Vacuum with Automatic Dirt Disposal is a nice addition to my cleaning tools. I have three indoor cats, so I'm always looking for something that will help me keep up with their shedding. I have another Roomba model that I use downstairs, and it's been a huge help cleaning the marble, hardwood, tile, and carpet, so when I had a chance to test this one, I couldn't pass it up.
There's basically no assembly; you just unpack everything, pick a place for the base station, attach the power cord, and you're set. I already had the app on my phone, so adding the new vacuum took about 5 mins. I let the robot charge for about an hour before I used it because I'm using it upstairs where everything is carpeted. The carpet isn't super thick, but I wasn't sure how fast the battery power would be consumed since I'm sure the motor works harder over carpet than in does over smooth surfaces. My upstairs is about 850-900 sq ft, and it usually takes one return trip to the base-station to recharge in order for the robot to clean the whole thing. The pathing of this particular model is incredible; on its first run, it went through every room, barely missing a spot... and it's gotten better each time. This model also doesn't seem to slam into things, unlike the model I have downstairs, which occasionally will ram an object as if it doesn't 'see' it. I'm also pleasantly amazed at the cleaning ability of the i3+. The dual brushes on this model are different than most of the brushes I've seen. They work so well, that after it's done, the carpet almost looks like it's been massaged. As a matter of fact, during its first run, it returned to the base-station 3 times to empty itself. At first I thought something was wrong with it, but on subsequent runs, it has only returned when it's low on battery, so I assume on its first run, it was picking up more fur (since I hadn't vacuumed in 2-3 days).
Overall, I'm very pleased with this vacuum. I set up a scheduled time for it to run, and I've just forgotten about it. It's allowed me to reclaim some time that I used to have to devote to vacuuming myself. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Enjoy up to 10 hours of wireless audio with these Sony noise-canceling headphones. They produce rich sound by playing at audio frequencies of 3-40,000Hz and have a closed-back design that blocks outside noise for a better listening experience. These Sony noise-canceling headphones sit comfortably behind the neck and work with or without the 1m wire.

Do the ear buds retract or adjust in any way

They do NOT retract. There is a groove along the edge of each side of the neckband that you can push the cords into for storage or to reduce the amount of loose cord when wearing, but the cords aren't overly long, so I don't even bother with it when I'm wearing them.
