On Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals' debut record, Anselmo showcases an abrasiveness not seen since his days in Superjoint Ritual. While a solid record, this is not a record that all fans of Pantera & Down will like. If I had to compare it to any of Anselmo's past work I'd say it's a cross between The Great Southern Trendkill & the aforementioned Superjoint Ritual. If you're an Anselmo fan of his more abrasive material this album is recommended in the highest regard.
