When discovering the discography of Bon Jovi there's no better place to start than with their 1986 blockbuster release Slippery When Wet. This was the album that catapulted them to mega-stardom & with timeless songs on this album such as "You Give Love a Bad Name", "Livin' on a Prayer" & "Wanted Dead or Alive" it's easy to hear why.
Cheap Trick's first studio album in nearly seven years Bang, Zoom, Crazy...Hello is a strong effort. This is their first album with Daxx Nielsen behind the drums replacing original drummer Bun E. Carlos. Recommended highly for longtime fans of Cheap Trick & those who weren't aware that they're still making new music after all this time.
The Rise & Fall of Ziggy Stardust & the Spiders from Mars to me is the album where David Bowie found his true artistic voice. Not to mention this happens to be one of the finest concept albums you'll listen to. You can't go wrong with such classic songs as "Five Years", "Moonage Daydream", "Starman", "Ziggy Stardust" & "Suffragette City" being the highlights of this timeless album. If you want to dig deeper into David Bowie's catalog outside of compilation albums look no further than The Rise & Fall of Ziggy Stardust & the Spiders from Mars.
It's nice to see that Past Lives received this Deluxe Edition reissue. This live album catches Black Sabbath in their prime in the 1970's & for anyone who wants to hear Black Sabbath captured at the height of their powers in concert you don't need to look any further than Past Lives.
One can't help but wonder why this soundtrack for the film Straight Outta Compton wasn't released when the film was in theaters. Nonetheless this collection which highlights songs from N.W.A. along with solo tracks by their members & influences is a great collection to own. Recommended in the highest regard.
Tesla were wrongfully lumped in with the "hair metal" bands of the late 80's-early 90's. Tesla Gold showcases how they were a more straightforward hard rock band as opposed to their peers in their day. For anyone just discovering Tesla you won't find a better starting point than Tesla Gold.
With The Best of King of the Ring, WWE showcases what was considered their fifth major pay per view from 1993-2002 & was resurrected sporadically four years later. There were some great WWE moments which I'd forgotten had taken place at King of the Ring until I purchased this DVD set.
Many were wondering if Queensryche would be able to follow up their self-title release two years ago which was their first album with Todd La Torre singing for them. In my eyes & ears Condition Human delivered on that follow up & continues to showcase how La Torre has brought new life to a band that many (including myself) have left for dead before Geoff Tate's controversial exit in 2012.
For many people, Pearl Jam never topped their debut release Ten. With such legendary tracks as "Even Flow", "Alive", "Black", & "Jeremy" it's easy to see why many feel that way. If you're just discovering Pearl Jam & want to discover their full length studio albums as opposed to compilation releases this is the best place to start.
