Exceptional Filtration, but Filters Are Expensive
on January 17, 2021
Posted by: TheDuke
from Seattle, WA
This air filter is an absolute BEAST. It is nearly the size of a mini fridge, but it is surprisingly quiet, is reasonably lightweight, is easy to use - and most importantly, maintains exceptional air quality.
When the 3 filters are removed, the device appears to be incredibly simple - almost like a box fan with filters strapped to each side (see attached pictures for examples). The unit completely replaces our loft’s air every 12 to 15 minutes and it does a great job at removing food smells after we cook.
I’m bummed that filters cannot be cleaned and reused - but, this appears to be the case with most high quality HEPA style filters. I have learned that in order to filter smoke and odors, DualProtection filters are required. The DualProtection Filters have a charcoal screen over one side and while they last for 6 months (which is counted down within the BlueAir App), they are surprisingly expensive (even after the 15% discount that the company provides if you sign up for a filter subscription). If we had strong allergies, the replacement price wouldn't be so hard to swallow, but we are using the filter to remove occasional odors (from cooking and from pets) and also to filter the air during the summer when local fires often fill the air with so much smoke that air quality becomes poor even indoors.
I am not yet sure if the App truly measures how effective the filters are based on use, or if it simply counts down 180 calendar days. Either way, a 6 month replacement cycle does seem pretty good.
The unit requires 3 filters that are sold as a set.
Standard Particle Filters cost $79.99 (or $67.99 with subscription)
Dual Protection Filters (with the carbon screen) cost $149.99 (or $127.99 with subscription)
I ranked the device at 4 stars because it was surprisingly difficult to hook up to our WiFI. Also, it is a bit frustrating that the warranty only appears to be extended if you sign up for the filter replacement subscription. If the company really believed in their product, BlueAir would have a lifetime warranty regardless of subscription status.
...I am also not quite sure if the app truly measures indoor air quality. Since having the unit, it always states that the air quality in our house is excellent - which may simply mean it is working as intended. But, until the next season of wildfires, I may not have a good indication of how accurate the measurements are.
Overall, I do recommend this air filter. It is whisper quiet, energy star certified, quickly links up to Amazon Alexa, controllable through the mobile app, and does an incredible job filtering a space up to around 700 feet. If you have severe allergies, this mammoth filter will certainly help in an equally big way.

Adds Flair To Live Streams, But Costs WAY Too Much
on December 29, 2020
Posted by: TheDuke
from Seattle, WA
Roland’s GO:Livecast can certainly take your live streams to the next level, but it is extremely hard to justify the high price they are charging. The mobile app offers support for streaming via Facebook Live, YouTube, Twitch, TwitCasting, and a Custom RTMP, but sadly they do not allow quick and easy support for streaming on Instagram - which is a huge fail.
I was also shocked that the package doesn’t come with all of the accessories required. The device comes with cables to connect the Go:LiveCast to an Apple or Android phone, but it does not come with a power brick/adapter - so, technically the device cannot even power on without additional accessories - Which is astounding considering the package costs hundreds of dollars. Also frustrating is that the power cable is only 16 inches - which is too short to reach down to an outlet while it is sitting on a table. The intention appears to be for the user to use a portable battery pack to power the device, but the battery pack is yet another accessory that is not included.
The Go:LiveCast is easy to use and admittedly it is convenient to have access to physical buttons to add sound effects, play video clips/animations, etc. The best feature of the Go:LiveCast is the ability to sync a second phone to allow streaming from two cameras - which you can switch between at the press of a button. The trouble is that there can be difficulty with compatibility - don’t automatically assume that you can use an old phone as a second streaming device.
The 6 buttons on the face of the Go:LiveCast can be customized within the app. The application/buttons can even be set to display pictures or videos from your phone’s memory. This means that the user can play a prerecorded introduction video - which truly adds a professional look. The Go:LiveCast really can improve the quality of live streams, but the features it offers may not be worth the money. And, these features are definitely not expected, even from those who are the most popular Live-Streamers.
At the current price I simply cannot recommend the Go:LiveCast. The effects are limited, video effects do not adjust to fit in both vertical and landscape formats, the device doesn’t play mic audio within the headphones, there are mobile device compatibility issues, and the package doesn’t even come with all of the accessories needed to use the device. I personally feel that the cost of this device would be better spent on a Ring Light, a tripod, and a microphone.

Vivid Image & Great Sound, but not Future Proof
on November 29, 2020
Posted by: TheDuke
from Seattle, WA
I was hesitant to order this Epson Projector because the Best Buy website states that the “Minimum Projector DIstance” is 3.4 feet. Thankfully, this is NOT correct. The whole purpose of a short throw projector is that it can project a large image while sitting incredibly close to a wall / screen. If it had truly had to sit 3.4 feet away from a wall - it would not be classified as a short throw projector. To clarify, I have this projector sitting 6 inches away from my wall and it projects an 80 inch image.
The projector is incredibly easy to set-up and is simple enough that my 6 year old was navigating and watching his favorite shows just minutes after plugging it in. The device initially takes over 1 minute to turn on, but it typically sits in a standby mode and can be used in just 3 seconds after pressing the power button. Even without a legitimate ALR Projection Screen, the image quality is great. Even on a dark wall, whites look great and the image is quite vivid. Keep in mind however, the projector can accept a 4K image, but the output is 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz. If you are hoping to game on the PS5 or Xbox Series X at 120 Hz - this projector will NOT be able to do so. See the attached Xbox Series X images for more compatibility information.
Not only is the image quality impressive (in both light & dark rooms) but the Yamaha 2.1 speaker system sounds great. The audio is rich and full with deep bass while - keeping dialogue clear. While the projector is designed to be used as a Bluetooth Speaker, this mode does not work well at all. It is surprisingly difficult to pair via Bluetooth and after about 4 minutes the connection fails. Once the connection drops, the remote control (which connects via bluetooth) is no longer paired and the projector must be unplugged and fully rebooted before it can be used again.
Overall, I am impressed with the projector’s short throw capabilities, but it does have other limitations that are frustrating for a device that is the very latest model.
1) The projector is not compatible with either Netflix or Amazon Prime Video. Netflix is the most popular video streaming app - so not having the ability to use its app is extremely disappointing.
2) The projector has 2 HDMI inputs, but neither of them are the latest HDMI 2.1. This means that it cannot process 4K at 120 Hz, or accept an 8K image. This makes me feel as though Epson dropped the ball with their latest projector models and is releasing new devices that are already a bit aged.
3) There are no navigation buttons on the projector. If you lose the remote, or if it stops working (due to the bluetooth issues mentioned above), you are not able to control anything other than the volume, the dimming option, or powering off the device.
4) There is no built in option to tilt the projector upwards. Strangely the projector only has 3 feet (two in the rear and one up front). Often the front foot on a projector has the option to raise and lower - to adjust where the image is displayed. But, that is not the case here. Just set the projector down and hope the image is displayed where you want it.
Note: There are menu options that allow you to adjust the screen size and edge shape.
If you are interested in true 4K (and want a device that will work well with 8K in the future), this projector is not for you. If you want to play PS5 or Xbox Series X at 120 frames per second, then pass on this projector.
BUT, if you want a convenient projector that displays an impressively clear image (in light and dark rooms) and includes impressive audio - this is a good choice.

Food Storage & Sous Vide Cooking Made Easy
on November 27, 2020
Posted by: TheDuke
from Seattle, WA
For over a year I have been using the Water Immersion Method to avoid spending money on a legitimate vacuum sealer. This means that I have been simply lowering a Zip Lock bag full of food down into a pot of water. The pressure from the water pushes most of the air out of the bag - which is then zipped closed and clipped to the size of the pot (while the Sous Vide heats the water and slowly cooks the food).
...The Immersion Method works alright, but this Vacuum Sealer works MUCH better. If you cook using a Sous Vide, or if you want to vacuum seal food to increase how long it lasts in the freezer - a vacuum sealer really is an absolute must!
The device is easy to use and it can seal just about any bag or package in the house. You can re-seal bags of chips, bags of candy, and can even create a water tight seal in a Zip Lock bag. The machine actually creates a double heat seal that holds incredibly well! And, you can seal bag after bag without the device over heating.
While you can re-seal just about anything - the machine isn't always able to suck the air out of random bags. The lid closes very tight which doesn't always allow for air to flow in-between the two layers of chip bags etc. The actual Anova vacuum seal bag material is textured which allows the air to be sucked out before the heat seal is activated. So, purchasing legitimate rolls of vacuum seal plastic definitely works best. The machine stores the entire roll inside the device and even has a safe blade that trims the bag to the desired size.
The Anova Vacuum Sealer does have a manual vacuum button which helps if you are trying to seal a bag with liquid inside. But, even when the manual function - it can be difficult to ensure that liquid isn't sucked into the machine (which causes a mess and can interfere with the heat seal). If you do enjoy sealing meat with marinade - this machine will work better than most, but still isn't perfect.
Tip 1: If you do want to seal a zip lock bag, leave the lid clamped down for a few extra seconds while the plastic cools down. If you open the lid right away, the zip lock back might melt apart and ruin the seal.
The cons are rather minor, but I don't like that the handle used to clamp down the lid is made of glossy plastic which very quickly shows finger prints and smudges. I also don't like that there is no way to turn the device off when the lid is closed. We have young kids in the house and I would prefer to keep the Vacuum Sealer on the counter with the lid locked shut. But, when you close the lid, the buttons are activated. There is no on/off switch - so I end up unplugging it and storing it in-between uses. (The machine is pretty big, so it is probably not a good idea to leave it on the counter taking up space.)
Tip 2: Make sure to leave a large amount of empty space at the top of the bag. If you attempt to vacuum seal a bag that is too short, the suction will cause the bag to crinkle and the the seal will not be air tight. When the heat seal activates, some air will flow back into the bag.
Over all, my family has been truly impressed and I feel pretty foolish for trying to go so long without one. Sous Vide cooking is now easier and we can make sure that meat can be stored for longer periods without freezer-burn.

Cheaply Built, But Decent for the Price
on November 23, 2020
Posted by: TheDuke
from Seattle, WA
I am fairly surprised that this Mini Projector is sold by Best Buy. It has the look and feel of a generic projector that would be sold cheaply on a bargain website (like Wish or AliExpress). Although the build quality is not the greatest, I admit that it is a decent projector for it's incredibly low price.
The projector is very easy to use and has every input you could need (VGA, HDMI, USB, 3.5 mm Aux Input, and even a MicroSD card slot). But, while the projector is simple, I really don't believe that it is well suited to replace a modern TV. The image quality is 800 x 480 which is less than 720p (which is NOT High Definition). While the image is not particularly sharp, it does project quite a large picture which can be fun to view (even if you don't have an actual projection screen).
The difficulty is that the image does best when projected straight forward and not tilted upwards. There is an option to adjust the image tilt, but when projected at an angle - I was not able to get the entire image to stay in focus. The bottom would blur while the top would focus correctly.
The other downside is the audio quality. The sound gets surprisingly loud, but the audio quality is sharp and tinny. But, again, for such a low price - and coming from such a tiny physical size, the sound is passable.
I would recommend this projector only for simple and occasional use. Because it is so small, it would be good to take on vacation, or for kids to use to simulate a movie theater with their friends.
...I would definitely not recommend for any professional or heavy usage.

A Great Balance of Convenience and Quality
on November 16, 2020
Posted by: TheDuke
from Seattle, WA
The Jet 90 is convenient, has powerful suction, excellent battery life, and is well equipped for any vacuuming job at home or in a car. My previous stick vacuum was the budget friendly Hoover Blade+, but the battery life was abysmal and the suction was only strong enough for a superficial surface clean. Every time I used the Blade+, I was shocked at how quickly the battery depleted. The Samsung Jet 90 is sturdy, well built, and the battery actually lasts long enough for me to complete vacuuming chores without having to stop to recharge.
I greatly appreciate that the Jet 90 has separate attachments for hard floors, as well as carpeted flooring. Each level of suction is a noticeable improvement in strength and I am truly confident that the vacuum is able to pull dirt from deep in the carpet for a superior clean. I was also incredibly relieved to find that the hard-floor brush is able to suck up larger crumbs. ...We have a 6 year old, so if a vacuum is not able to suck cheerios off of our hardwood floors, then it’s a huge fail for us. (Our previous stick vacuum sat so close to the floor that it would push debris across the floor instead of actually sucking it up. This is not a problem with the Jet 90).

What I don’t like is the charging station sits on the floor and takes up more space than wall-mounted stick vacuums. The charging station can only hold two out of the 5 included accessories. Since the accessories don’t all attach to the charging station (or the vacuum itself) storage ends up cluttered - which is frustrating. I also feel that the dust bin could be larger. I don’t think I have ever completed a single job without having to empty the bin multiple times. Having a bigger bin wouldn’t add much weight and the extra physical bulk would be worth the added convenience.
I was also surprised to find that the Jet 90 doesn’t actually come with the mop attachment. It turns out that the Jet 90 is compatible with a “Jet Spinning Sweeper Tool” that spins two disposable wet wipes, or two microfiber pads - But, this attachment is incredibly difficult to find and it is very expensive.
The V90 is quite expensive, but I believe the build quality, the suction power, the battery life, and the convenience of included tools all justify the price.
NOTE: To save around $100 there is the option of the Samsung Jet 75 Cordless Stick Vacuum, but it does not have as many accessories as the Jet 90. It does not have the freestanding Dual Charging Station, the ability to charge a second battery, the mini motorized tool, the telescopic pipe, or the ability to use wet and reusable microfiber pads (via the “Jet Spinning Sweeper Tool”).
PROS:
+ Battery Life truly is long enough to complete cleaning tasks
+ The vacuum has excellent suction and each mode (low, medium, high) is actually a noticeable improvement over the previous setting
+ The vacuum head is raised high enough to allow it to suck up larger pieces of dirt & debris
+ The charging stand is able to charge a spare battery simultaneously
+ The charging stand holds two accessory attachments
+ The noise produced is quieter than similar stick vacuums
+ The HEPA filter does a tremendous job at trapping dirt and filtering the air that is pushed out
+ The filters can all be washed and cleaned
+ The telescopic pipe attachment can be used with all other accessories and makes the vacuum comfortable to use for users who are both short and tall
+ Even the mini upholstery head is motorized
+ The vacuum does a good job at recognizing when an object is clogged / stuck and stops the head from spinning (until the issue is corrected)
+ Unlike many other stick vacuums, the Jet 90 can stand up (you can lean it against a wall when emptying the bin, etc) - this is surprisingly convenient
+ The head of the vacuum has superior maneuverability as it rotates and pivots effortlessly
CONS:
- The dust bin is quite small and needs to be very frequently emptied
- No accessories can be stored on the actual vacuum.
- The charging stand only has space to store 2 accessories (but the vacuum comes with 5)
- The telescopic pipe must be shortened to its smallest size in order to fit on the charging stand
- The advertised battery life of 60 minutes can only be achieved on the lowest suction setting and without any motorized accessories attached.
- The V90 does NOT come with the “Jet Spinning Sweeper Tool” - which spins two microfiber pads, or disposable wet pads. (This tool is incredibly difficult to find and is quite expensive.)
- There is no light on any of the vacuum attachment heads
- Cannot be hung up on a wall
- The upholstery attachment cannot reach the actual surface being vacuumed due to plastic guards that sit below the roller.
- The upholstery attachment does not open up like the full sized heads - which makes it much harder to clean

Good Electric Toothbrush, But Poor App Performance
on October 26, 2020
Posted by: TheDuke
from Seattle, WA
My wife and I have always had a difficult time inspiring our son to brush his teeth. He is now old enough to brush on his own, but he often doesn't brush for the right amount of time. We have used YouTube videos to make brushing fun, but they can be distracting and he ends up spending his time singing, or simply forgets to brush thoroughly.
With this Quip Kid's brush he's proud to have his own electric toothbrush (like mom and dad) and he knows how long to brush, and understands how much time he needs to devote to each area of his mouth (even when were are not monitoring the process).
The problem is that our brush will not connect to the Mobile Application. I have worked with customer support, but after their limited troubleshooting could not solve the connection problems - we were told to simply wait until an new version of the App is available (and even then there is no guarantee that the brush will connect to the app). After further investigation, it doesn't appear as though the App is all that valuable. It will track how often the brush is used, but it doesn't seem to be able to show if the user brushed various parts of the mouth, etc. (as the brush does not have any accelerometer built in).
The brush could cost less if the Bluetooth was not included. Quip could have simply posted their tips to YouTube and it would have had the same effect. I also have mixed feelings about the subscription model in place for the replacement heads. The subscription fee is fairly low, but I can't help but feel as though I am paying more to get less (than if I were to simply to buy a disposable toothbrush). Every 3 months Quip will deliver a brush head and a AAA battery - but I wish I could simply buy the brush heads all at once and avoid the subscription. The warranty is also dependent upon singing up for the subscription.
The brush does work perfectly fine, and I like the innovation of a case that doubles as a toothbrush holder - but I don't feel as though this brush stands out from the many other electric toothbrushes that are available. I have no problem recommending the brush itself, but I don't feel as though the app will bring any worthwhile value.

Mr. Coffee is my Perfect Match
on October 26, 2020
Posted by: TheDuke
from Seattle, WA
This Coffee Maker is exactly what I hoped for. It is easy to use, brews quickly, and has every feature my family needs. Oddly, my wife was most excited for the measuring spoon that came included. Apparently she was never confident that she had been measuring her coffee grounds correctly. With the help of the measuring scoop, she was quickly able to make better tasting coffee than with our previous Black And Decker Coffee Maker.
My only real complaint is that the water reservoir is not removable. Sooner or later the device will need to be cleaned - and since the water simply fills the area behind the basket and coffee pot, we will need to tip the entire machine upside down to clean it out.
The manual suggests not brewing less than 4 cups, but what they call “4 cups” is just slightly more than what fits in one of my wife’s larger mugs. I personally like that a timer can be set to brew the coffee and the machine will show you how long it has been since the coffee has been brewed. So, no more stale coffee.
Pros:
- Easy to use
- Beeps when coffee is done brewing
- Coffee brewing can be paused so a cup can be poured mid-brew
- Timer can be set to delay when brewing begins
- Has a Brew Timer which shows how much time has passed from when the coffee was brewed
- Comes with a measuring cup which helps to determine the specific quantity of coffee grounds required to brew the desired number of cups
- Features a filter that cleans water during the brewing process
- The lid is not able to close unless the water spout is pivoted into brewing position
- The Coffee Pot’s lid is easily removable to simplify in washing the glass pot
Cons:
- Not ideal for individual servings as the manual suggests brewing a minimum of 4 cups
- Does not have a removable tank (which makes cleaning much more difficult)
- Water filter (if used) needs to be replaced often
- The Machine is advertised as being Stainless Steel, but the construction feels rather cheep as the vast majority of the coffee maker is actually made from plastic
- The lid is only able to close if the water spout is swiveled out of the way - this feature feels as though it could easily break the lid (or water spout) if too much pressure is applied.

Gen 2 is Fun AND Useful

Instant print cameras have been around since the Polaroid Corporation introduced the Land Camera Model 95 back in 1948. And while it may seem like instant print photos are a gimmick that fell out of fashion with the invention of digital photography, printable photos have become big business once again (as it is a way for camera & film companies to ensure consistent revenue in a similar way to how they once sold film).
The Canon Ivy Cliq uses Zink paper which requires no ink. (Zink actually stands for Zero Ink.) Instead, the photo paper consists of multiple heat sensitive layers containing dye crystals that display various colors when they melt. The camera delivers varying intensities of heat which quickly results in a colorful picture. It is important to note that while many companies (such as HP, Polaroid, Lifeprint, Fujifilm, & Canon) offer Zink cameras – all Zink paper is made by one company: Zink Holdings. They created the underlying technology – which has been licensed out to several companies. So, while physical cameras or printers may vary in quality, all of the photo paper is essentially the same.
Just how good is the second generation of Canon’s Ivy Cliq+?
Well, compared to the first Cliq+, this new generation is fantastic! The Cliq+ 2 still feels like a toy (as the form factor has not changed), but Canon wisely added bluetooth connectivity - turning the device into a fully functional Zink printer.
...The device is still only able to snap 8 megapixel images, but it now allows pictures to be taken even when no Zink Sheets are installed (as long as you have inserted a Micro SD card). And, users are now able to edit and print any image stored on their mobile device - greatly increasing the usability and the fun!
When I reviewed the 1st Gen Cliq, I commented that Canon had focused too heavily on creating a flashy new device that looks fun and lost sight of actually making a good camera. And, while the camera still feels limited and gimmicky, I do feel as though Canon put genuine thought into improving nearly every aspect of the device. By combining the camera with a Zink Printer, the Cliq+ 2 is finally fun and actually worth owning.
I, personally, would still choose to save money by purchasing a Canon Zink printer over this combination device. But, instant print cameras are just plain fun. (And thankfully Zink pictures only cost 50 cents each - compared to literally $2.00 for a single Polaroid picture.) Canon truly has done an impressive job adding so many features while keeping the cost low. The Cliq+ 2 is now a device that I can recommend. And, I genuinely look forward to snapping a bunch of goofy sticker pictures with my 6 year old.
Pros:
+ Takes a digital copy of the image that prints (if a Micro SD card is inserted)
+ Photo prints are actually stickers
+ Photos are thin and stick well, but can also generally be peeled off of surfaces without causing damage
+ Only 50 cents per picture (as compared to classic Polaroid pictures which cost $2.00 each)
+ Zinc Photo Paper is not sensitive to light (in the same way as film). This means you can open the back of the camera without ruining film.
+ No ink or development chemicals to worry about
+ Allows double exposure prints (Simply re-load a picture back into the camera and take a 2nd picture that prints over top of the first. Fun & artsy!)
+ Photos print in about 55 seconds and do not require time to develop (compared to Polaroid pictures which take up to 10 minutes to develop)
+ Rechargeable battery built in
+ Built in flash and LED selfie Ring Light (which is very bright)
+ Selfie mirror actually works reasonably well
+ The Cliq+ 2 also functions as a photo printer and can print any picture stored on your phone / mobile device
+ The mobile app makes both editing and printing photos incredibly easy
+ The mobile app is easy to use and has tons of fun editing options
+ The App allows you to see all of the pictures on the memory card within the Cliq Camera and choose to edit and print
+ The app even allows you to create a collage of pictures before you print
+ The Camera now saves digital images even when zinc photo paper is not installed in the camera! (This was not the case with the previous version.)
+ The camera now has a physical button that allows you to select to print images with a white border (or turn this feature off and print without a border).
+ The camera now has a physical button that allows the user to take Black and White pictures, or Vivid pictures.
+ The shutter button now offers some tactile feedback and is much less prone to taking pictures accidentally (which was an issue with the previous version)
+ The app allows a mobile device to be used to control the shutter remotely
+ The camera is able to snap additional pictures while printing is in progress
+ The lens is recessed and protected from scratches
+ The flash can now me turned off, placed on auto, or turned on
+ The wrist strap can be attached to either the left, or right side of the camera
Cons:
- The camera no longer has a physical button that will re-print the most recent picture that was taken. (This function can, however, be performed from within the mobile app.)
- The camera no longer has a physical button that changes the printable image from 2x3 inches to 2x2 inches. (Images now fill the entire Zink sheet unless the border button is pushed, or other options are selected from within the app.)
- When the mobile app is connected, the camera’s power button will not turn off the camera.
- Camera does not have a screen (pictures must be viewed and edits made from within the mobile application)
- The mobile app is not able to offer a live view of what the camera sees
- Photo resolution is still only 5 megapixels (same as the previous version)
- Camera does not have any indication of how many pictures are left (although you can take the paper out and count the sheets)
- Image quality on the Zinc Photo Paper is still fairly poor (this does not appear to be due only to the 8 megapixel resolution of the camera - as mobile photos taken at higher resolutions still have limited clarity when they are printed)
- Water eats through the top layer of the photo paper destroying the image underneath. If rain touches an image, or if liquid is spilled on a photo – they will be ruined. Keep in mind, these are stickers – so they may end up on notebooks or other areas that kids might splash or get wet.
- The back of the stickers are difficult to peel away (there should be a slit on the back of the paper – instead of needing to be peeled at the corners)
- No battery indicator
- Does not include a Micro SD memory card
- Does not include any carry case, or bag/pouch
- The cost of Zink photo paper is the same price regardless of the quantity you buy (50 cents per 2x3 inch sheet) and the cost does not appear to have gone down over the past year

No Frills. No Gimmicks. Just Toast.

This GE toaster is exactly what I expected. No Frills. No Gimmicks. No exaggerated marketing. The toaster is so simple that the box lists only 1 feature....that it can toast two slices of bread. Literally no other features are listed.
...And, because it does indeed have two slots, it lives up to every promise that it makes.
The process of toasting is rather slow and the toasting is fairly uneven, but the resulting toast is nicely crisped (as opposed to only being browned on the outside with the inside left overly soft). The toaster feels as though it has a nice build quality and my whole family was impressed by how solid the lever feels when pressed down.
My main complaint is that the crumb tray is located on the back of the toaster. I guarantee that my family will completely forget about the tray (out of sight, out of mind). And so, the toaster is absolutely destined to become caked with toast crumbs.
Overall, a good toaster that works as expected. The full price is probably a bit high (compared to the competition), but I have no doubt that once on sale it will end up an appropriate cost. Plus, Best Buy guarantees their low prices - so ya really can't go wrong.
Fun Fact: This simple GE Toaster has replaced the ultra expensive Touchscreen Revolution R180 Toaster in our house. (See the included picture which shows them side by side.)
PROS:
+ 13 available shade/cook levels
+ The knob clicks at each of the 13 levels
+ Lever has a solid / quality feel
+ Cord track underneath allows the cord to be fed out of the side, or the back of the toaster
+ The shell of the toaster is slightly convex which prevents the outside from getting too hot (to the touch)
+ LED lights turn on to show which toasting mode is selected
Cons:
- Outside Quickly Collects Fingerprints and Smudges
- Does not toast evenly (see attached pictures)
- Crumb Tray is located in the back (which is inconvenient
- The toasting process is quite slow (even for lower levels of crispness)
- The Bagel option still cooks both sides of the Bagel (instead of only turning on the inner heating coils as would be expected).

From Work to Workout. Comfortable, sweat-proof earbuds that work from the office to the gym. Set features secure-fit earbuds and powerful audio that gets you moving. The Set in-ear sport headphones let you manage calls and audio with the in-line remote and microphone and come with the enhanced bass that Skullcandy products are known for.

Are you able to use these to receive FM radio signals on your cell phone (in my case Samsung Note20 Ultra) without using data as previous cell phones could use stereo jacked wired headphones (as the antenna)?

The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra does not have a built in radio tuner. This means that you will need to use a data connection in order to listen to the radio.
