This new generation of the home line-up has an even wider soundstage than its predecessor, re-engineered for a more immersive experience. This new generation has tweeters angled outwards and updated waveguides to deliver a consistently solid sound that is so wide it chases you around the room. Experience a balanced sound, with crisp, soaring treble and controlled, rumbling bass. Built-in Dynamic Loudness adjusts the tonal balance of the sound, ensuring your music sounds brilliant at every volume, while Placement Compensation corrects for any nearby reflective surfaces that may affect the sound. Marshall has taken its signature rock ’n’ roll home speaker line-up and given it a stripped-back look that makes a loud statement. Its iconic design knocks all other speakers off the shelf. Generation III is ready for the future of Bluetooth technology and has been built to deliver next-generation Bluetooth features the moment they are available. Over 55 years of sound knowledge is combined with future-proof technology to completely immerse you in your music.

Looks amazing, but there are better performers...

One thing I loved about this speaker was the overall look and feel. It has a classic rock and roll kind of vibe going on, and would look great in your garage, man cave, or just about anywhere really. The solidly built case has a very nice leather (no, it isn’t real leather - the Stanmore is actually made with 70% recycled plastic and only vegan materials if that’s important to you) look and feel to it, with a cloth speaker cover that has a gold Marshall logo front and center. The metal power toggle switch screams power & practicality begs you to turn it on!
I think the sound quality is fairly good. My son thought it was a little ‘boomie’, but he’s always been more sensitive to bass frequencies than most people I know, so take that with a grain of salt. The sound stage is a bit directional, but it’s acceptable considering the form factor. Will it “chase you around the room” as the marketing suggests, definitely not, but it does okay.
The app is pretty basic, but that kind of goes along with the overall theme of the speaker anyway, so I’d say that’s a good thing. You can control the bass, treble, and volume. The red LED’s on the physical control panel change along with any changes you make in the app, so that’s a nice touch as well. Other than that, it can control (pause, play, etc…) the music you’re streaming, and facilitate firmware updates.
The physical control panel lets you change inputs (bluetooth, aux & RCA), bass, treble, rewind/pause/play/forward (if using the bluetooth input), and the previously mentioned massive power toggle. Speaking of the power toggle, it seems backwards in my opinion, as you pull it towards you (down in relation to the text) to turn the unit on. Maybe that’s just me though.
I think the biggest miss for the Stanmore is its lack of wifi. For a speaker approaching $400, I’d expect wifi capabilities. The inability to ‘cast’ music from my Spotify or SiriusXM app is a big let down, and coupled with the price, is probably why I couldn’t recommend this speaker to my friends. Seriously, who doesn’t hate it when you’re listening to some tunes with friends, then whoever happens to be connected to the bluetooth speaker walks to another area and the music starts cutting out. Party foul.
Overall, if your primary goal is to achieve a retro rock & roll aesthetic, then the Stanmore is the way to go. If you want functionality & performance, there are better options in this price range.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nice design, great display
on April 1, 2023

Very little bloatware. Doesn’t come preloaded with 3rd party antivirus, relying instead on built-in Windows Defender, which is nice in my opinion. I get tired of manufacturers preloading a bunch of garbage.
The ASUS TUF laptop is actually a few ounces heavier than my previous MSI gaming laptop, yet somehow it feels lighter.
Design is kinda cool and reminds me of Transformers or Halo or something a little futuristic, but not obscenely so. They didn’t go crazy with colors like some others do, with only one little bit of color on one of the feet.
The backlit keyboard has a narrow number pad and dedicated volume up & down buttons, as well as one to mute the mic. It has a Home key, but you have to press FN key to use End, PgUp, and PgDn keys.
Screen bezel is minimal at about a quarter of an inch on the top, and just under a quarter of an inch on the sides. It really seems to disappear as you’re gaming or working. It also has a matte finish, so you don’t have to contend with a lot of glare.
Speakers are average, at best.
The left side of the laptop body has a barrel power connector, Ethernet, HDMI, headphone, USB-A, and two USB-C ports, which can also be used to power the laptop. Two power methods is a nice feature. The right side of the laptop body has a single USB-A port.
No issues with performance. I have only tried a couple of games, but it had no issues with Flight Simulator.
Overall, I really like this Asus TUF laptop. It definitely looks, and feels, better than my previous laptop. It’ll surely be my new go-to when I need to be away from my desktop.

Secures and charges your phone, and great price.
on February 24, 2023

This Best Buy Essentials magnetic car vent mount is a very nice addition to my Jeep Cherokee. It has a very nice range of adjustability, and allows me to position my phone to the angle that works best for me and my vehicle. It supports both landscape and portrait orientations, so you can quickly adjust it based on your activity. This is especially useful for navigation applications.
Installation was easy, which was surprising since I’ve had challenges with using other vent-mounted phone holders. I’ve had a few other vent-mounted holders that either wouldn’t reach back far enough to clip on to the rear of the vent, or they went back too far and were then way too loose in my opinion. This one just clipped right in with no troubles whatsoever.
So far, it’s held my phone quite securely, and I’ve not had any instances of it falling off. Yet, at the same time, my phone easily detaches when I’m done driving.
So far, I haven’t really found anything that I don’t like about it & it’s at a great price!

Enormous, quality picture; decent built-in sound
on February 2, 2023
Posted by: cw77
The projector itself is rather large (27x13x6) and not likely something you’ll easily hide/integrate into your decor. That said, Epson did make an effort to make sure it was as appealing as possible. If you have a semi-dedicated movie/TV room, it’ll fit right in, but the sheer size may look a tad out of place in your living room.
Setup is pretty easy, especially since you only have to place the unit a few inches away from the wall, unlike traditional projectors. With a traditional projector, it can be a challenge to find that ‘sweet spot’ where the projector is far enough away to project a decent sized display - you won’t have that issue with this one; put it on a table right next to the wall & you’re pretty much ready to go.
The display size can go anywhere from 80 to a whopping 150 inches! Even at 150 inches, the picture quality is impressive and will absolutely take your movie/sports watching to another level! Brightness is amazing in a darkened room and more than acceptable in an average sunlit room. I had no issues at all watching day games. Colors are good and, if you’re just projecting to your wall, can be tuned to compensate for the paint color of your wall via the settings menu. I was surprised at how much of a difference that made.
The built-in Yamaha sound was surprisingly good. Obviously it can’t compete with a quality external system that has actual surround speakers and a sub, but it’ll work just fine for sports and general TV watching. Fortunately, if you do have an external sound system, the projector has an optical output so you can easily connect to it.
It has built-in Android TV, so you should be able to stream from (almost) any streaming provider around. One VERY notable exception is Netflix. It completely baffles me why you can’t get Netflix on his projector. I know it isn’t an Android TV thing, as I had no trouble finding Netflix on my other Android TV devices, so I’m not sure what the issue is. I can only surmise that there’s some corporate bickering between Epson & Netflix. Whatever it is, they should work it out ASAP, because having to connect another streaming device to this projector JUST to watch Netflix is disappointing. Five stars if it weren’t for the lack of Netflix.
Aside from the Netflix issue, it’s really hard not to love this projector. It seems a little pricey, but the picture quality, enormous display size, and flexibility of the ultra short throw are worth it.

Good trimmer, but uses proprietary charging cord.
on January 29, 2023
Posted by: cw77
Comes with a storage bag to keep everything together, even if it is a slight hassle to dig through the bag for the attachment you’re looking for.
Has plenty of attachments, so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding one that works for whatever/however you’re trimming.
Attachments are easy to take on/off, by just popping them off & on. No latches or awkward maneuvering required. They attach solidly, but not so tight that you feel like you’re going to break something when taking them off.
It’s rechargeable, and good for wet/dry use, so you can easily use it in the shower for easy clean-up.
Performance is good. Trims nice sharp lines. No noticeable bogging down, even when trimming up a beard that is sorely overdue.
My biggest complaint is the charging. Like SO many things these days, it doesn’t come with a power supply, just a cable. I’ve come to accept this in most cases, but Norelco really screwed up by using a proprietary port on the trimmer. If you’re only going to include a USB cable for charging, why in the world would you NOT also make the trimmer port USB??? One more cable that I have to keep track of.
Overall, it’s a decent trimmer, but the charging cable is a disappointment.

Unobtrusive and easy to set up; unlimited devices
on November 5, 2022
Posted by: cw77
Registration was easy, just paste in the key code & provide an email address. It will prompt you to enter a credit card number to enable auto-renewal, but there is a small link underneath the entry fields that will allow you to skip. They make it easy to overlook, but at least they provide an option for those of us that don’t care to sign up for auto-renewal right away.
Installation was simple & took about 5 minutes. At that point, you can pretty much leave things alone if you’d like. It will take you to a landing page where you can enable things like Personal Data Cleanup, Secure VPN, and ID Protection. Antivirus and Tracker Remover features are enabled by default.
First manual virus scan took about 15 minutes. It does ask if you want to send any suspicious files to McAfee, but you have to opt IN to that feature, so it’s nice that they don’t assume you want to send them suspicious files. Subsequent scans have taken less than 5 minutes.
The Personal Data Cleanup feature makes it easy to find out which data brokers have your personal information available online. Supposedly, McAfee will automatically take the necessary steps to have those profiles removed. It’s only been a few days, so I can’t verify how successful that feature is.
It does include a VPN feature, but every resource I could find indicates that McAfee VPN is NOT a no-logging service, so I can’t recommend this particular feature.
For the most part, McAfee seems pretty solid. UI is easy to understand & navigate. The product pretty much just sits quietly in the background, which is what I like it to do. I don’t want to be bombarded with notifications about upgrading, or setting up this feature, or whatever. And another plus is that you can install it on unlimited devices, cuz who only has one device these days??

Say goodbye to subscription fees!
on November 1, 2022
Posted by: cw77
Firstly, there are NO subscription fees for Eufy cameras. Buy the system, which is comparably priced to some subscription-based systems, and you get access to all of the functionality.
Excellent packaging; even put the camera mounting hardware in individually labeled ziplock bags.
It can be a bit difficult to get the camera locked into the position you want it in if you don’t have the mounting arm solidly attached to a structure, i.e. if you have vinyl siding and you are using siding clips to attach the mounting arm to your house. If you’re attaching the mount to a solid structure, you can adjust them pretty easily.
Pairing the camera to the ‘Homebase’ is incredibly simple and trouble free. Just stand near the homebase, click the + in the app, hold the Sync button on the camera for a few seconds & let it do its thing. You hear a few high pitched tones and boom - done! Don’t know what kind of voodoo magic they’ve got going on, but I wish other manufacturers were even half as simple and reliable.
The built-in solar charging is a nice feature, provided you can mount the camera somewhere where it’ll get sunlight. Common mounting locations under eaves won’t provide much charging benefit. That being said, the battery is large enough that you still shouldn’t have much to worry about. One of the cameras I have gets very little (if any) sunlight and it’s still at 62% charge after two weeks of (heavy) use, and set to Optimal Surveillance instead of Optimal Battery Life. The camera that gets morning sun is still at 100% charge.
The Eufy app is pretty flexible & user friendly. You can easily rename cameras, adjust the order they’re displayed in, and create/change Security modes. You can also temporarily ‘snooze’ individual cameras for ½, 1, 2, 6, or 12 hours. This will keep event recording active but stop any notifications. It would be nice if they had a ‘snooze all’ button or ‘disarm all for x minutes’ for times you’re doing yardwork or something. I’ll sometimes disarm them while I’m outside & then forget to arm them again.
The recording quality is very good. You can easily zoom in to see quite a bit of detail, even at night. I thought the default motion detection setting was a little slow to detect movement, so you may want to play with that a bit if the cameras aren’t picking up the movement that you think they should.
Another feature of the new Homebase is the ability to expand recording storage capacity by adding a hard drive. Nice touch.
Overall, I’ve been extremely impressed with my Eufy cameras. So much so that I bought a 2nd set to replace another brand of cameras I had installed at a different location. The Eufy app even makes this easy by letting you create a 2nd ‘home’ to help organize your cameras.
Best of all - NO SUBSCRIPTION FEES!!!

Great detector… HORRIBLE APP
on October 7, 2022
Posted by: cw77
This is a pretty solid unit that won’t annoy you with endless false alerts - once you teach it just a bit. When you encounter an alert that you think is false, you can press the button on the smart power adapter to mute the alert. If, over a couple of trips, you mute that same alert (based on the built-in GPS) three times, the detector will add that specific location/signal combination to a ‘Stored’ list and stop alerting you every time you go past that same spot. If you encounter an alert that you know is false, you can press the smart button three times quickly to manually add that signal/location to the Stored list. Nice feature!
Another thing I like is that the detector will illuminate an arrow to show you which direction the radar/laser is coming from, so you know where to start looking for the source. This feature also comes in handy when you encounter an alert that (unfortunately) is caused by another vehicle's adaptive cruise control or collision avoidance system. The first couple of times you encounter this type of false alert will definitely leave you scratching your head a bit.
Nice windshield mount. Suction cup stays put & was easy to install. The coupling between the mount & detector is magnetic, with the addition of a small lip, which results in a solid connection. Drove over plenty of rough roads and didn’t have any issues whatsoever.
Room for improvement:
- They should include a power adapter that can use USB. Many cars today have plenty of USB ports, but only one traditional power port. If you happen to have another device that needs the traditional power, you’re stuck with having to use bulky splitters.
- The power connection to the actual device uses what is most commonly used for an old-school phone handset (RJ9 connector if you want to look it up) cord. On one hand, this does make it easy to plug/unplug the unit so you don’t have to leave it out in the open just waiting for thieves. On the other hand, I work in the phone industry, so I know it’s only a matter of time until that plastic clip breaks. I’d really like to see them integrate the power connection into the magnetic windshield mount. Couple of contacts built into the mount & the top of the detector and you’d be good to go.
As for the Drive Smarter app, well, it’s not even good enough to make the ‘Room for improvement’ list; they need to just scrap it & start over. The connectivity to devices (I also have a Cobra dashcam that uses the same app) is absolutely horrible. I’d like to think they’d improve the app connectivity, but I’ve had my dashcam for two years, and the connectivity was horrible then. Seriously disappointed to learn that it hasn’t improved at all. Unfortunately, the detector needs to be connected to the app if you want to take advantage of the crowd-sourced radar & traffic cam reports, and database updates, so the poor connectivity kinda negates the benefits of that feature. That being said, I did have slightly better luck using the older Escort Live app, but it hasn’t been updated since early 2019, so I’m not sure how much longer it’ll be around.
Overall, I’d recommend the detector because it really shines at detecting & filtering out alerts, and the app is just kind of a bonus - if you can get it to work.

Cleans fine, but map and scheduling need work.
on September 23, 2022
Posted by: cw77
App initially starts out strong, walking you through most of the setup, but then things got a bit confusing for me when it came to carpet zone verification. The app makes it sound like the robot will trace an outline outside of your carpet zones, but it actually traces the inside. Fine tuning the outline of your carpets in the app is cumbersome. Our other vac can distinguish between carpeted/non-carpeted areas, so I was a little disappointed that the Shark couldn’t do the same.
When defining rooms/zones in the map, it won’t allow you to set any dividers/walls to anything other than a 90 degree angle. We have one room, which also happens to be a transition from hard floor to carpet, that is at about a 45 degree angle from the main room. So I either set the carpet area smaller, which then gives us a wet carpet, or set the carpet area larger which results in a section of the hard floor not getting mopped.
It doesn’t appear to cross a carpeted area to get to a non-carpeted area for mopping, which I guess is a good thing, but something to be aware of.
You switch between vac and vac&mop mode by virtue of attaching the mop fluid reservoir. If it’s attached, it’ll vac & mop; if it isn’t, it’ll just vac.
The scheduling function is very lacking. You can only have one schedule per day, and it’s fixed to clean everywhere - you can’t schedule specific rooms or zones. Big miss there. Hopefully they can improve in future software/firmware releases.
As for vacuuming performance, it does a pretty good job. It definitely does a better job along baseboards/furniture than our other robot vac. Mopping performance is fine as well, considering that’s basically just dragging a microfiber pad across the floor. As with any other robot vac we’ve had, they just can’t compete with the results of using a manual vac/mop, but the convenience is a definite bonus.
Overall, I think it has potential, assuming Shark can make a few tweaks/enhancements to the app functionality. However, in its current state, I couldn’t yet recommend this to a friend.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good for parties
on August 30, 2022
Posted by: cw77
It takes just under 20 minutes to make 24 cubes that are about 1 inch square. But like several other ice machines, they tend to come out in an 8 cube x 3 cube sheet which you'll probably have to break apart. Increasing the cycle time results in a sheet that is quite difficult to break up, which might actually be good for use in large coolers, but not for drinks unless you move the sheets to a sturdy container & find a solid tool to break the sheets up with. Decreasing the cycle time seemed to help with reducing the sheet effect.
It says the storage bin will hold a little over 2 ½ pounds, but I think that’s being pretty generous. Especially if it’s been putting out the sheets of ice, which trip the ‘bin full’ sensor rather quickly.
One feature that I did like is that it recycles the water from any ice that melts in the storage bin & uses it to make more ice.
Didn’t notice any unusual tastes to the ice. Ice cubes themselves are quite clear.
Portability is okay. It’s not something you’re going to move frequently, but you can easily move it from one room to another. It doesn’t take up as much countertop space as I had expected either.
Couple of other things to note:
-It puts out a decent amount of heat, so keep that in mind when you select a location. It easily raises the ambient temperature around it by 10 degrees.
-The drain plug is cheap plastic, connected by a thin plastic cable, so I’m sure that will become separated fairly soon.
-The rubber/silicone covering the plug isn’t securely attached, so it’s already gotten stuck in the drain hole. You can easily push it out from the top, but something to watch out for.
-The ice that is produced is still quite wet on the surface, so I wouldn’t plan on being able to just dump the ice in an ice bin in your freezer - it’ll quickly freeze into a block.
-The power button just stops ice production; it doesn’t really turn the machine completely off.

Separate from the coffee system is a dedicated hot water line. Using a separate line eliminates flavor contamination and delivers clean water. 2 temperature settings, hot and boil, allow you to make tea, hot cocoa, instant soups, and oatmeal. Brew a super-rich coffee concentrate that you can use to create delicious lattes, macchiatos, cappuccinos, and other coffeehouse-style drinks. Use the built-in, fold-away frother to transform hot or cold milk/milk-alternatives into silky-smooth froth in seconds. Top your Specialty brew with frothed milk for a coffeehouse-style drink. The frother is also removable for easy cleaning. Choose from one of four different brew styles; classic or rich for a traditional hot cup of coffee, over ice for an iced coffee that's never diluted, or specialty to make a cappuccino or latte. Clean function, dishwasher-safe parts, removable Ninja pod adaptor and frother allow you to easily deep clean your unit.

The choice is yours. Whether you prefer making single cups of coffee with *K-Cup pods or full-sized carafes from coffee grounds, the nutribullet Brew Choice Pod + Carafe has the goods to brew both. Just insert your *K-Cup pod or filter, and the machine’s Brew Sense Technology will automatically adjust its display to match, giving you options to brew a 6, 8, or 10oz cup of *K-Cup coffee, or a 6, 9, or 12-cup carafe.

If using an actual K cup instead of the reusable, will it fit a K Cup from Keurig? or is it a special size where you have to use an exact brand?

Standard k-cups (Keurig & non-Keurig brands) work just fine. However, it will NOT accept the carafe sized k-cups.

Clean your carpets efficiently with this iRobot Roomba vacuum. It lets you set a schedule for automated vacuuming, and the sensors help it navigate under furniture and around objects on the floor for a more thorough cleaning job. This iRobot Roomba vacuum has internal brushes, agitators and suction to handle debris and pet hair.

Does anyone who owns this model find that it is sort of loud?? The part that is the loudest is not the vacuum part but the part that makes it move I guess. Just wondering if anyone else found it loud or is there something wrong with mine?

I'd agree that it's fairly loud. Definitely louder than a competitors robot vac that I have.
