This box set contains every episode from the first season of the situation comedy ALF, including the never-aired pilot episode. Each is presented in the original broadcast aspect ratio of 1.33:1. English soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital Stereo. Supplemental materials include bloopers, menus hosted by ALF, and trivia. This is a great release for fans of the show.
I picked this up in hopes of enlightening my daughter, needless to say, she loves ALF now! ...but unfortunately the quality of this Boxset is subpar to say the least. The sound quality is pretty bad, enough so that my daughter even commented on it. And the episodes are not complete, they're taken from syndication airing! I hope maybe a company will release all the Seasons properly, until then I will refrain from buying the other seasons, disappointed, indeed.
I'll have to admit, the last couple albums by these fellas just kinda ran together for me, not much to hang on to, imo...but, this one sees the return of the earlier material ( like a mix of Amongst the Catacombs and Festivals of Atonement). They still have the unique sound (that so many tend to try and emulate) but they also find a catchy heavy riff and stick with it for a bit instead of teasing you with it! Highly recommended for long time fans!
Most of us know the greatness that is early KISS, but for the younger generation not yet familiar, this is a great gift for them. And that's exactly why I purchased it! My daughter is a big fan, and her friend is just getting into them. This Boxset made a great gift for her, she loves it!
What can I say about Wormed? Well, for starters, they're completely insane and will blow your mind! Technically they remind me of perhaps Meshuggah mixed modern day brutal death (though I don't want to persuade anyone into thinking that's exactly what they sound like, they can't be pigeonholed). They need to be heard. Check em out if you dig things extreme!
The second album by Vastum might be my fav by the band, though their latest Hole Below may take the cake after more listens??? This album has a very thick dense sound and plods along like a tank crushing all in its path. The sound reminiscent to Autopsy at times, then there are actually a couple songs that have a heavy Slayer South of Heaven influence (in the music of corpse the vocals are putrid death style). For fans of the Doom/Death genre for sure!
I have to admit, I lost track of these guys years ago. After the 1st couple of albums, they began to bleed in with all the other Hardcore/Metalcore stuff. But this baby is a monster!!! Hooks upon hooks, no cheezy filler and it brings back the glory of bands like the Cro-mags! If you dig Cro-mags "Age of Quarrel " and other great hardcore of the ilk, along with mid 80s Slayer and Kreator...you gotta get this! Also includes covers of Carnivore and Amebix songs. Essential!
Vastum have been kickin around since about 2009...with each release they further their journey into the darkest depths of Doom Death Metal. Production is solid on this one and there are some thrashier hooks this time around making it a little catchier than previous offerings. Recommended for fans of Autopsy, Coffins, Incantation, DisEmbowlment, etc. Check it!
This 4 CD box set is the perfect addition to ALL fans of Autopsy, old and new! New ep included, demos, live stuff and rarities as well as 2 discs worth of best of material! Phat booklet includes band history , cool stories from the band and great pics! I HIGHLY recommend this to Autopsy fans and folks who like their metal nice and sick! \m/
I had been very excited about a full length from Under The Church! The self titled ep from 2014 was enough to heighten my anticipation! With members of the classick SweDeath legends of Nirvana 2002 expectations are high! ...I have to say overall, I prefer the ep, BUT...the album is quite good and with every listen it gets even better, so in time it may surpass the ep! Swedish Death Metal Fans...A MUST! \m/
This is definitely a solid effort from one of today's Doom/Death Metal bands. Songs are a bit shorter than their previous efforts and lack some of the more powerful doom laden agony constructed in their longer songs...but still highly worth owning as that dreadful guitar tone and vocals from the rotting pit of the grave still make it aces!
