...I've got to say, when it comes to CC's output since the late 90s, at first the albums don't hit me right away, but after repeated listening, the albums tend to unfold and I absorb them. Some feel their newer stuff is all the same, but in actuality, the music is more complex. This being their latest, it's a little more straight forward and ride on the riff oriented, I'm enjoying it. I'll see how it holds up along such monsters as Blood Thirst and The Wretched Spawn!
I won't mince words here, if you're a fan of Swedish Death Metal with that dark atmosphere and Chainsaw guitar... this is essential. Well crafted with very heavy production. Features members of Wombbath and Ashcloud. A must for SweDeath fans!
This album introduced me to this band. I've gone back and listened to earlier material and it's in a different style, this album is BRUTAL Death Metal in the recent Italian style, but with the old school elements of bands like Deicide, Sinister and Cannibal Corpse. A nice addition to any BDM fans collection and one of my favs of 2017!
These guys get better with every album, and at this point, this one is their best (though I dig em all). If you're a fan of Blackened Death Thrash Metal in the vein of early Sodom, Kreator, Massacra, Nifelheim, etc. this is pretty much mandatory. Killer 2017 release!
In my opinion there aren't too many Death Metal albums that are as killer as Infernal Majesty's "None Shall Defy", so with that being said, there's no comparison here, BUT, this is a solid album with some pounding catchy hooks and a nice production. For fans of mid paced to speedy old school Death Metal, as well as those who are collection completists like myself.
If you're a long time COF fan, then you realize the twists and turns this band has taken, some quite mediocre to just kinda bad. Well, with The Manticore and Other Horrors, we see a welcome return! Speed and heavy riffs mixed with their penchant evil melodies. I'm glad they've brought IT back! The latest 2 albums are also quite good.
Ok... the album itself is decent, some very good songs and some on the mediocre side...BUT the good songs are fantastic and have a nice eerie vibe like his earlier material! ...the real treat is the 2nd disc! It contains 2 new songs by the original Alice Cooper Band, and 6 live tracks from Columbus Ohio 5/06/16! The double disc version of Paranormal is a must!!!! Alice Fan For Life.
Wow! I'd figured they'd broken up??? Relationship of Command was released in 2000! Well, I'm glad they're back! If you're a fan of the band I can only highly recommend that you pick this one up! If you're unfamiliar, I can suggest it for fans of punk rock and hard edged indie rock. Very well done, worth the wait!!!
I was a bit nervous about getting this one, due to the line up change, but it's a solid Suffocation album! I don't think anyone will be expecting Pierced From Within part 2, cuz that album is perfection and we know that it's captured in time...but this one has a good production, tight catchy songs, though a few do tend to run together, nothing major though. I do miss the previous drummers though, the new fella is good, but he has a lot of shoes to fill! Anyway, if you're a long time Suffocation fan, I recommend picking this up. I've played it a lot since I got it.
Blood Offerings is yet another stellar release for 2017!!! I've been playing the heck out it since I got it! If you're into old school Death Metal in the vein of Death, Autopsy and Possessed along with thrasher stuff like Slayer and Sacrifice... I suggest you get this! A MUST!!! I saw em live with Undergang last week and they were killer live too! As we're Undergang!
