Dirt 4 is kind of an odd child of Dirt 3 and Dirt Rally, but it's better for the diversity. If you've played Dirt 1-3, you'll find familiarity in Dirt 4's arcade mode; if you've played Dirt Rally, you'll find a slightly less demanding (but no less detailed) physics model in Dirt 4's sim mode.
The modes in Dirt 4 are more diverse than in Rally, and there's a fully fleshed out career mode to play through. Additionally, if you find a way to become bored with the stages in Dirt 4 after hundreds of hours of play, Dirt 4 includes a simple track creator that should keep you happy for a long while still.
The game isn't terribly attractive, however. It's not ugly, but it's not Forza Horizon 3.

Not Great, But Very Nearly Great

Halo Wars 2 isn't a huge departure from the first game. It's a realtime strategy game whose controls are largely accessible on an XBox One controller—no small feat. The big change for Halo Wars 2 is a mode called Blitz, which is a bit of a pay-to-win game, but a blast still.
In Blitz, you choose a leader who has a deck of 10 different cards (units), and use energy given over time or that spawns on different locations on the map. Your goal is to control more points on the map than the opposing team. Games are usually fast and furious (many under 5 minutes) with the occasional game running down the clock. You can buy card packs to further improve your decks—hence pay-to-win—or you can unlock packs through daily and weekly quests and leveling up. It's not a perfect game type, but I've lost a lot of hours to it with a few friends accompanying me.

While the film John Wick Chapter 2 isn't quite as good as the first film in terms of its structure, the second film is absolutely stunning on 4K. It's the kind of film that begs for the highest fidelity possible. Certainly a must buy for any action fan and a great feature to show off your 4K TV and player.

Nier plays like a traditional action game—think Ninja Gaiden, Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, God of War. You have a few attack buttons you can build combos with, you have a double jump, and you have a dash button that with good timing can be used to dodge virtually any attack. But Nier isn't just a straight forward action game; it's an open world RPG too. You'll level up through grinding waves of distinct enemy types, pick up side quests along the way through a lengthy main quest line, and customize your character with a horde of weapons and items that can also be leveled up as you progress through the game.
It might not actually be structured like a traditional action game, but Nier stands among the greatest games in the genre. And by shifting some of the game mechanics into an open world setting and an RPG, the game feels unique and fresh. It's certainly worth your money.

If you've played Persona 4, this is just really an expanded and enhanced version of that title in terms of gameplay and world design. It's also a new, goofy story that includes you entering the hearts of others and stealing their desires. Also, you're back to bargaining with demons for cash, items, or their help (them as one of your Personas). It's a must buy if any RPG ever was for you.
If you haven't played a Persona game, here's the basic loop. You develop friendships with people in the real world and those friendships in turn help you with the dungeoning and RPG portion of the title. As you get further into the game and pass more dungeons, you get more opportunities to develop further friendships. The game is based on an economy of time wherein you choose to do on any given morning, afternoon, or evening. And some things have to be done by certain dates in order to continue through the story. It's bizarre and crazy long (100+ hours) and a lot of fun.

A Bizarre, Grotesque Roguelike

So if you don't know what a roguelike is, it's a game that's based on the premise of an old game called Rogue in which you lose all progress when you die. The excitement of a roguelike is that "one more run" gameplay, and the hallmark of a great roguelike is when you keep wanting to do one more run. The Binding of Issac is one of the best roguelikes I've played in years—probably since I played it on PC like 5 years ago. And like the best modern games in its genre, you unlock a bit more stuff to see, characters to play as, game mechanics each time you play through. You'll see stuff maybe once in a hundred games, and that's pretty impressive.
The premise might be a bit off-putting, and there's a lot of 16-bit-esque violence and feces, but if you're down with religious extremism and that other stuff, you'll be okay.
