Lego City undercover remains one of the best Lego games a few years after its initial release on the Nintendo Wii U. The game has an open world that can be compared to Grand Theft Auto—a very child friendly version of that game—but still has the traditional level structure of a Lego game. The open sandbox can be a blast for younger kids who might not have an easy time with a focused mission, but each mission isn't very difficult or complex. My 4-year-old mostly spent his time driving around the city and breaking lego structures apart.
It's also pretty funny, especially for kids.

Lego Worlds is a fun and much more creative take on a Lego video game. It's also less kid friendly than other Lego games because of its complexity. You can build or unlock models and stages, and literally everything in the game is made of legos. It's quite a spectacle if nothing else, but it's also quite a bit of creative fun.
Also, Lego Worlds doesn't run as well on the Switch as it does on other consoles, an obvious function of a much weaker system. But that doesn't really hamper the experience, and you can take it on the road.

Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 remains as fun for kids as any other Lego game. You can't ever die, so the difficulty is extremely easy. And the game sports a roster of dozens to hundreds of Marvel heroes and villains. Still, the controls for the game are oddly clunky even compared to other Lego titles, and the sense that you're not fully in control of your character pervades the experience. Certainly fun to play with your kids though!

Hey Pikmin resembles the main Pikmin series in that you play as a small humanoid alien and you use Pikmin to collect items and attack enemies for you. It's a side-scrolling platformer though, not a three dimensional adventure game. While it's not quite as expansive as the main series feels, Hey Pikmin should be a fun diversion while we wait for Pikmin 4.

This is pretty much like all other Lego games, except it's based off of a film. The voice actors aren't the same as the film (of course), but I don't think many young players are going to notice or care.
I would probably recommend the PS4 or Xbox version over the Switch. Several levels show a significant drop in frame rate, so the game looks and feels choppy.
Still fun though, especially for kids.
